Lovely Belrose (dressed as Ghost the direwolf — tight white leather pants, white fur lined boots, a sleeves white top with an attached hood, complete with wolf ears, and a pair of white, fingerless, furry wolf paw gloves. He even took the time to apply red eyeliner.) - picked up a stake
Lovely dealt with Seth following along by ignoring him completely. He ignored Ilian, too, for the time being (though Lovely certainly wasn’t above being a b***h and purposefully ignoring Ilian for much longer than this). His main concern was getting out of the reception hall, and then once they were out of the reception hall, his main concern was getting through the webs. Which he did with relatively minimal effort. Then he came upon a large crate of metal stakes, and though he wondered what the ******** it was doing there, he grabbed one of the stakes just in case.
For a moment, he considered stabbing Seth with it, but Lovely wasn’t powered up and therefore doubted he could get away with murder without the benefit of whatever “lol you can’t recognize me” magic accompanied their shifts into uniform.Paris Gallo (dressed as Emma Swan)
“Chris. Pooh Bear. Love of my life. Father of my babies. Everything is always as horrifying as we think it could be,” Paris said, just as they spilled out of the exit of the reception hall and came upon a vertibal wall of spiderweb.
“Everything could always be worse. That’s like saying the sky’s blue,” she continued, as they began to force their way through the web. And they did have to force their way. The web was sticky and gross and Paris was soon covered in it. She didn’t mind that they got stuck together since it meant Chris couldn’t go anywhere without her, but then they ended up stumbling over one another, and that made their trek through the web even slower than it was already.
“Who do I have to b***h out this time?” she asked once they finally managed to extricate themselves. She pulled gobs of web off of her and flung it away as best she could.
God, some of this s**t was in her hair. If her hair got ******** up because of this, she was going to… probably cry, because she was really attached to her hair. But also she’d be very angry, because it wouldn’t be the first time this war ******** up her hair.Haven Sinclair (dressed as Hermione Granger) - grabbing a stake
Haven ignored Peter’s sputtering and managed to successfully locate his phone. She pulled up the flashlight app and used the light to scan their immediate area. Fortunately, no other elbows came flying out of nowhere to knock the phone out of her hand again.
“I’m okay,” she answered Vi. “Bruised, maybe.”
People needed to be more careful when they were making a mad dash out of places. If they’d be calmer about it, a lot less people would get hurt. (Not that she really expected anyone in this city to be calm, but this kind of stuff happened all the time. When were people going to get used to it and start behaving with a little more common sense?)
The webs were a bit of a problem. That was going to slow things down for everyone. Soon after Peter barreled right into it and kept getting himself stuck, Haven situated herself a little behind him in order to avoid most of the web herself. She motioned Vi to join her behind Peter’s back, holding Peter’s cellphone up to shine the light over Peter’s shoulder so at least Peter would be better able to see what was in front of him.
When they got through, Haven saw the crate of metal stakes and grabbed one in case they’d need a weapon. She passed Peter’s phone back to him so she wouldn’t have to juggle two objects at once.
“Hang onto that. Don’t drop it,” she said, in a flat tone of voice that made it difficult to determine if she was serious or mocking him.Sorry these tags are crap and also sorry for the delay. I didn't feel good and then my internet kept cutting out for a day, so my patience was kind of wearing thin. 8D;;; PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SKIP OVER ME IF I TAKE TOO LONG TO ROLL DURING A ROUND. I'll catch up when I can.

Katrina Halloran "One night. Is it really so much to ask for just one normal date night." She was careful in resting her head against his chest for a moment, making sure the press of her cheek was from the side not artfully painted to look like a skull. People around them were shuffling towards the door, cramming in close and making things uncomfortable. If there weren't so damn many of them she'd just power up and teleport the two of them far away. Light spilled in through a door once it was open-- not enough to see by, but enough to tell that there was something very wrong with the Bootanical Gardens. "Looks like things are just going to keep getting better... I definitely didn't dress for this sort of occasion."

Mahogany Shapour -- Phantom of the OperaMahogany cried out in disgust when he was ensnared by the webbing as well. Well, not so much the webbing as what it was doing to his clothing. It was like being stuck in melted marshmallows and there was no way he was going to be able to get it out of his costume. Cashmere silk, fine linen, and genuine damask all ruined in one fell swoop. Mahogany tried to pull it off with his hands, but in the end just fastened his palm to his chest. It seemed like the more he struggled, the tighter he got wound up in the webbing until he was practically cocooned in the stuff. In the end, he got free, but not without casualties. The sticky mess had claimed his already ruined cape, but also demanded the price of his damask vest. Mahgoany gaped, gesturing uselessly at the caught garments, and looked to his new companions for help. He knew full well that there wasn't anything they could do, but they could at least try instead of being so wound up in each other that Mahogany had to struggle alone. His expression of abject horror turned to a glower and then melted quickly into a pout as he turned away from the massacre. His mother was going to kill him. Gisela Louise -- Lazy ZombieTry as she might to stay close to Derrick, Gisela ended up struggling more than he had with the webbing. She wasn't on top of her game, being as sleep deprived as she was, and her muscles were slightly tired from the energy that she had already exerted. For just a moment she hung limp, strung up like a marionette and gasping for air. Her muscles already burned, and her lungs called for rest, and she had no choice but to relent, captured in this strange web. But then she heard Derrick break free and cracked her eyes open. Behind him, somewhere, were her parents, probably worried sick about her. As he stooped to grasp a spike for defense, Gisela resumed her struggling to break free from the trap she had walked right into. When she was finally free she hurried back to his side, pulling off strands of stuck on web and flicking them to the side. "Good to see you're armed," she muttered, putting her newly armed companion between herself and whatever lay ahead.

Kian CappelloHis arm tightened around Katrina as bodies, both human and otherwise, pressed in around them as people tried to get out of the building. Her words got a smile out of him as he waited for a moment that they could move. "Nothing is ever normal with you Kat." Outside didn't look all that much better but he wasn't interested in staying inside and finding out what was going on. None of the General Soverien's had mentioned something was going on so he wasn't sure it would be safe for them. When they could move he nudged Katrina. "There seems to be room to get out and we should take it." He moved her in that direction but the webbing outside, whatever it was made of, was quite sticky. Kian seemed to be having an easier time getting through it than Katrina but paused to help when she got stuck.

Evan Harper - In Possession of a Metal Stake
Evan had instinctively stayed close to Tobias as they pushed through the web; he felt a strange sludge in the back of his mind—a helplessness that was making him nauseous.
He was a Senshi; he was supposed to be strong. He was a Super Senshi, even—and that just made this strange dullness so much worse. He registered that he should be more aware, more on top of things, and yet it was like his mind was still tangled in all those webs.
He nodded, almost absentmindedly, to Tobias’ words.
It felt strange, like an otherwordly thought—he knew he should be afraid later. If he could just shut it off, now…
There was a little button, in the back of Evan’s mind, that he could only sometimes reach. Sometimes, he could just turn everything off. It was a survival tactic, and one he’d only used a few times before. He’d been afraid countless times and not been able to shut things out or block off his fear. He didn’t know why this time warranted it, but it did.
His eyes almost seemed to glaze over for a second and he stopped moving—and then he gripped Tobias’ arm and he pulled himself and Tobias through a weakness in the web.
In the back of his mind, beyond the wall of apathy and indifference he had cast upon himself to escape the fear, he could hear Tobias’ voice echoing; he was having a hard time registering any emotion, but he held Tobias’ hand a little tighter—and gripped the metal stake tightly in the other.

Virell deVilliers - (Will be in possession of metal spike)
Though disgusted by the spiderwebs, Virell was extremely cautious about tearing through it if it meant messing up his makeup or hair. He found a weak spot and began to push through but froze when he saw a metal spike swinging very nearby.
He couldn’t make out much details, but what he could see was Rhona, wielding a metal spike, hacking madly.
“Oh my God,” Virell exclaimed, horrified, “Are you trying to kill her? Was your breakup that bad? You’re going to tear off her face!” And her makeup!
“Just—just stop, hold on,” Virell instructed; he had been extremely fortunate not to have webbing cling to him as badly as poor Lavender, and he wholly attributed it to the extreme amount of makeup he was wearing.
As someone who cared considerably about his appearance, Virell never left the house without the necessities, and tonight was no exception. He reached into his pocket a small bottle.
“Lavender, I’m going to assume you don’t have any allergies because I’ve seen you put all sorts of things on your face already, so if you do, I’m so sorry, but you can cover up bumps. You can’t cover up metal spikes to the face, so I’m just going to—close your eyes, close your mouth, real quick.”
He didn’t wait for long before he spritzed the clear liquid on her face and carefully tried to pry the webbing from her makeup without smearing it.
There was no reason to look bad, ever—and especially not if you were just about to be on your deathbed.
He tried to carefully pry the web off of her face while guiding her out of the webs through the hole he’d torn through.

Malcolm Everly
The sight of spider webs was enough to make Malcolm’s skin crawl; he had long since been plagued with dreams of spiders cocooning them in their webs and feasting on him and all this did was jerk him back to his vibrant dreams.
A cold shiver ran down his spine and he found himself rejuvenated and eager to escape; he still clutched at his camera but he wasn’t taking any chances and he wasn’t looking back. He wanted to get out of there, along with everyone else.
When everyone began pushing through the doors and fighting off the webbing, he joined them; he tried to slip away from the crowd just enough that he wasn’t going to inconvenience anyone or get stuck to them.
His plan worked; it wasn’t exactly easy, but he cradled his camera close to him. Even with the threat of giant spiders, he couldn’t risk damaging his most expensive, most beloved camera. After a few long seconds of struggling and sticking to the webs he managed to tear through and stumble out to the other side.

Myles Fischer
Myles had never been afraid of spiders; in fact, he got along too well with any small creature—spiders included. He didn’t have the heart to kill them and he’d often gone out of his way to save them when he could.
But.
Most spiders he’d encountered weren’t such web-building experts, and something about the franticness of the crowd got to him. He didn’t want to be stuck in a dark room with a spider big enough to make a web like this; just because he had pretty good karma with saving insects didn’t mean they’d know that.
Myles tried to push through the webbing but he was far from graceful and wound up a tangled mess for a good few seconds. When he tried to push through, the web simply seemed to wrap around him. He kept moving, kept pushing—and finally broke free.
The web tore, giving him a clear path to the other side. He was tired, and covered in webs, but he was out.

Kirra Morrow – Vampire BatterinaThe scariest thing last year, Kirra remembered, were the bats. This year, she’d decided the scariest thing was going to be her. So today she was a bat, a vampire bat. A vampire princess bat. A vampire princess ballerina bat! – the costume had come with a little black tutu, so it was obvious! She wrapped her fabric wings around her for warmth as she pushed her way through the dull, crowded reception hall in the direction of another serve of Free Candy. Which was worth staying inside for, she guessed. But she wanted to see the maze, and the Halloween garden! Her smile brightened immediately when Briar hailed her – it wasn’t going to be boring after all! And maybe they could climb on the maze! She raised her hand to wave back, but her returned greeting turned into a startled squeak as the lights went off, her friend disappearing in the darkness. The hall was suddenly full of screams and shouts, pounding footsteps, bodies much larger than herself pushing and shoving. A hand grabbed her arm, and she almost screamed, but Briar was just visible in the flickering light, and she made no objection as he tugged her towards the exit. It must be nice to be tall like him, she thought, as she clung to his hand and struggled to keep up. She was just tall enough for a lot of grown-up elbows to slam against her head and shoulders, and if not for Briar, she could have been completely trampled. If only they could have been superheroes, they could just jump over all these people! But they had to keep their secret identities, of course. Finally, they pushed through out into the fresh air, but it wasn’t all clear, and the garden looked like it had been toilet-papered. Or silly-stringed. Or something way way worse, she realised, as it stuck to Briar ahead of her and he called a warning. “Like Spiderman webs?” she asked, hopefully. But Spiderman was a good guy, and he wouldn’t try to stick her and her friends. Kirra came from Australia. Kirra knew about spiders. Spiders were Very Bad News. But the press of people still behind her didn’t give her much choice but to move into the mess of white stuff. It was sticky and gross, tangling in her bat wings and tearing at the tulle of her skirt. And it was strong, too. “We. Are. Not. Flies!” she told it as she forced her way through. Quote: Litian: Sorry for the delay, thanks for including me! <3 * Gigi Gennaro – Broken China DollThey’d beaten the rain, but only just. Auntie Meels had insisted on doing their make-up before they left, and it had taken longer than expected – she’d gone all-out. Gigi had decided it wasn’t worth the effort of fighting her curls, and had picked out a costume to make use of them, teasing them into doll-like ringlets. With the addition of a cutesy faded pink dress, excessive ribbons, and her aunt’s stage make-up skills, she was transformed into an antique china doll, cracks crazing her face and arms. It was a good level of creepiness, and if no-one else was dressed up, it would be quick enough to wipe off. Gigi was here because Kirra wanted to come. The eleven-year-old needed an escort, and her parents were busy, so she’d agreed to do her cousinly duty. The kid hadn’t had a lot of Halloweens, and Gigi didn’t want to deny her just because events in Destiny City were so often targeted. She hit up the refreshments table, keeping an eye on Kirra and trying to stave off her worry as the chill of the hall increased. It’s atmospheric, Gigi told herself, as the reception hall lights went out. It’s supposed to scare people. But her heart sank. She wished she was surprised. Glass shattered nearby. The move from mingling to stampeding was quick, and Gigi lost sight of her cousin almost immediately in the crush. The darkness wasn’t dark enough to be useful, which left her stumbling towards the exit light with everyone else, unable (as usual) to actually help. She moved blind, hands in front of her to shield and guide, but with so many strange costumes and accessories, it was hard to tell what she was even touching. Just when she thought she was getting close to the door, she tripped over someone’s costume tail (at least that’s what she hoped it was). She fell back, but hit someone else before she hit the floor, a large someone in a creepy hairy outfit. And then it moved. Gigi pulled herself away quickly, because the way it moved was far more youma than person. Biting her lip, she pressed on towards the exit. Outside smelled of rain, but the deep fog obscured the gardens. Gigi ran headlong into it, and the white webbing quickly ensnared her, smothering her face and nose with sticky strands. It itched where it clung to her, and hurt when she pulled it away from her skin. Where it caught in her hair was far worse, a de-tangling disaster. Her progress through the web was marked by pained yelps, and a trail of torn dark strands stuck among the white, as she yanked pigtails and ribbons free only to have them catch again on a new web. When she emerged from the mess, she trailed sticky webbing like a veil. At least it kind of went with her costume.

Isaiah Zähne (as Felicia) Someone bemoaned his feeling fingers — Gwen from the sound of it — but Ice was a few too many sheets to the wind to give much credence to complaint. Instead, the crowd delivered most of them toward the exit, which caused Isaiah to trip up on his cat paw slippers and nearly eat the ground. Were it not for the sheer saturation of humans-per-square-foot of floor space, he'd have certainly been trampled. Instead, warm bodies kept him upright.
He turned to look for his quarry, as turning and walking proved too much, though he did not find them in the din and darkness. Elbows and legs and hips and shoulders jabbed him about, pushed him back until he felt someone else weighing against him from behind. And as he turned to protest, someone's unmentionable bodily fluid struck his face. "You can't do that here —" he started to object, until he tasted some of the vile white. It wasn't salty at all.
No, it tasted more… Well, it tasted less. In fact, it didn't taste at ********!" Isaiah shouted to the crowd in sudden realization — and revulsion. He stood nearly covered in webbing, where it wrapped into hair and skin and mouth and bawdy outfit. And as much as he tried to wipe his lips and wring the sticky substance from his tongue, he invariably felt more left behind. "********," he cursed again, and spat onto the ground. He spat several times thereafter, coating it in spittle flecks. He stood stationary, horrified at his own situation. "Someone help," he whined. "It got in my mouth. It got in my mouth! I didn't want it!"

Lauri Virtainen - Stake acquired! Archer's hold was more than possessive, it was downright punishing, but Lauri grit his teeth; it was obvious that the Wolfe didn't wish to be separated again. A feeling that he held in a like esteem. Looking around as they made a blessedly easy exit through not only the stupid doors and throngs of people but also the hellishly familiar but disturbingly jumbo sized webbing, Lauri caught sight of the same bin that Archer did. Both men - and others with similar ideas to arm themselves - felt the weight of metal against palm. "Spiders. It's spiders, of some sort. Obviously." As for how pointless it was...well, he couldn't have agreed more. They might as well have sat down in the web-strewn garden of panicked people and played tug-of-war with the sturdy red leash then and there, for all the point there was. "No, but I think that's the point. Shapes, at a distance. Could be fog, could be giant spiders." The sharp scent of marijuana hit his nose - someone had a good idea; Lauri didn't pursue. "So." He turned in close to Archer so they could speak without - in theory - other's listening in, "How strong are the chances this is one of our parties...and someone up the line forgot to ******** tell us?"
