Scythe in hand, Sam tested its weight without an ounce of apprehension. The bugs seemed to be doing minor damage at best, judging from the other battles going on. At best, they had numbers. But she didn't accept Deus' offer to be bothered by bugs.

Tent Shelter - now in service.

Despite all the craziness, the other hunters seemed to be handling their own fairly well. He had taken care of his bug and went inside one of the tents to set up shop. Ugh corpses. Clyde skirted around, and designated one of the tents good for shelter at the moment. People would want to get organized once they were done dealing with the swarm they attracted. Clyde took the time to remove the bodies from one of the tents in the best condition, he put his shirt between him and the body and no he was not keeping it.

Once they were removed he hung out in the shade at the opening ready to drag people in. Especially the newbies. There was no reason for the fresh trainees to be out in this. (Never mind that he was a trainee too.) But he wasn't going to hang around in the hot sun for no good reason. Fear shields didn't save you from dehydration.

"Get in here." he said to anyone near by.

She was surprised by how quickly she picked up the weapon's fighting style. A bond indeed...Sam smiled to herself as she sliced through several bugs.

Lunaire grew cocky, she'd landed a few good hits, dusted one of the low level trash mobs everyone was scrambling to deal with. Clearly some people where Pay To Win judging by how fast they downed them, or how fancy their weapons where.

She figured she had this down pact and took a wide swing with her strange weapon only to have all three remaining bugs drop down low to the ground and scurry around to circle her.

"Aw what!? They have evade!?"

To any older hunter near by, they might realize the tell tale signs of a new hunter talking to their weapon for the first few times.

Logically speaking, all variables considered, the Sahara should probably have frightened Mimsy more than it did. But this place was familiar now, and insects had never bothered her at any size. The primary concern was the safety of the new trainees - those of particular importance - who might not have felt so secure about their position here.

But Alice (and Dinah) seemed fine, which came as a pleasant surprise. Caroline was with Cami, which suggested they would fare decently. And America was America, which undoubtedly meant that she would rather protect Her Mimsy than need any protecting.

That left one very important thing to take care of.

With utmost reverence, she took Robert's hands and placed a juice box within them, clasping her hands awkwardly over his. Her spindly fingers never stood any chance of covering his hands.

"It will not remain chilled for long."

One of the bugs reared up again hissing in anger right as Lunaire turned herself. She scowled in its direction and brought her arm in a wild back handed swing smacking the bug mid hiss into another acidic puff of darkness.

The runs on her weapon suddenly flaring up. "Uh... Lei?" she asked while shaking the weapon a bit. "What is this?"

She was noticed! Stormy seemed to brighten all the more at Caroline's smile--the poor girl was desperate for old connections in that way--and she would have waved even more thanks to Cami--because new connections were just as craved, even as she feared what opening herself back up to it would mean--and she started to wave them both over--but Caelius had to ruin it all.

At least she could roll into the fall, as much as one could in the sand. There were bugs accumulating around her, but she had one immediate thought: the kids.
