Lucy looked curiously back at the girl, but said nothing. Apparently, that was the right response, as a small smile fell over the teen's features. "I guess I'm not surprised she picked a fire type," she mused, moving to bring her legs down, and adjusting herself to sit properly on the couch, turning her head to still look at Lucy. She seemed to be considering something, then tilted her head back and to the side. "You should watch out for Blue, though," she remarked, slidign towards the edge fo the seat, her hands moving down to get ready to push herself up, "He's been Mel's for a really long time... And he has a type advantage over you...~" The girl shoved herself off the couch and stood, then drifted around the side, trailing her fingers along the armrest and up the back, before heading for the stairs again.
Lucy blinked, watching her go. She couldn't tell if the girl was joking or not... It was kinda like when that Brian guy had teased about Z being jealous... but he was a lot more obvious about it.

Hopping up, Lucy threw herself over the back of the couch and let her arms dangle as she looked up at Z. The legend had looked after Kiara's departure, but, upon feeling Lucy's attention on him, looked back to the little fire monkey. "Who's Blue?" she asked curiously. Z shifted, regarding the question a moment, then turned. '.... I'll introduce you,' he offered, moving towards the open doorway on the far wall. Lucy blinked, but dropped back onto the couch and ran along it to hop off and follow Z into the kitchen. She looked around, taking in the surroundings. There was a kitchen on the right wall, with a fridge immediately to the left, a stove beside it, and a counter that led to the opposite wall, turned, and followed along it, under the window that let in a surprising amount of light from the backyard. The sink seemed to be built into the counter, underneath the window, with counters hovering above on either side, and several drawers and cabinets underneath the countertop, and an oven beneath the stove. It was a little crowded, but... cozy.
And sitting there, on the table, was a fish bowl, with a surprisingly small-ish goldeen casually drifting around.

Lucy stared with wide eyes. Whoooaaa... It was pretty! She hopped up onto the table, looking at it curiously, undeterred as it caught her sight, and swiveled around to look at her. "Hello," he greeted calmly, appraising the chimchar before him. Lucy took a seat on the table. "Are you Blue?" she queried curiously, tipping her head to the side. The goldeen paused in his elegant movements as he floated through the water to regard her. ".... You must be Mel's new pokemon. Did she mention me....?" he asked. Lucy shook her head. "No, ah... 'Kiara' did," she replied, looking thoughtfully back towards the stairs as she tried to remember the girl's name. She looked quizzically back at Blue, who was looking at her, and then turned, his fins drifting through the water. Lucy looked curiously back at Z, considering something, but blinked when she heard an odd sound. There was a metallic scraping sound, and then, presently, a solid 'thunk'. She turned, standing up a bit in interest as she peered down at the thing that had entered the kitchen. Well sort of. It looked more like it had sort of... face planted through the doorway, its feet still caught on the fluffy carpet of the living room, with its face planted into the plastic-tile floor of the kitchen.
It looked like... a pokemon?

The chimchar blinked several times as she looked at the creature, her head tilting to the side as she walked a bit closer to the edge of the table. "Kiwi." She blinked and looked back at the two pokemon as they spoke in unison, then back at the creature as it finally stirred, twitched, and began to shift and push itself up. "Huh?""Kiwi," Blue reiterated coolly, gently brushing the edge of his bowl as he tried to eye the creature, "It's a... pokemon, we believe, but it's also a robotic creature. Melinda has been working on it for several months now. She has it working, but it still has a few... difficulties." Lucy looked at the goldeen questioningly, then back down to the robot as it pushed itself.
It looked to be a rabbit-type thing, kind of like a buneary? But certainly not the same, and it appeared to be wearing a tiny... jacket? Lucy jumped down to be level with it, looking at it with interest, and trying to make eye contact with it. It didn't seem to register her, however. It stared with non-interactive gaze at the floor. It lifted a foot, then promptly fell forward again, once more falling still. Lucy jumped back a bit, looking at it in surprise, and then gazing up at Z. What.... "Kiwi!" Lucy blinked and looked back as Mel appeared, quickly scooping up the metallic pokemon. The rabbit settled in her arms, but continued staring with a blank gaze straight ahead. It really was a robot....

Lucy stepped back a little, looking up at 'Kiwi'. It wasn't... unnerving? But it was odd. There was something strange about it. It was distinctly... lifeless. Mel, meanwhile, seemed to finally notice her starter was in the room. "Oh! 'Ello Lucy," she greeted, flashing a smile, "See you've met Kiwi." She started passed her pokemon, slipping through the narrow space between Z and the over to get to the sink, but not before leaning over and dipping a finger in the fish bowl to give a light little pet to Blue. "'Lo Blue," she greeted. "Melinda, please..." the fish murmured, sounding just as calm and detached as before, but with a slightly exasperated undertone. The woman simply chuckled, setting Kiwi down by the sink, and moving to wash her hands.
"Do you really think it's a smart idea to put that thing near water?" Lucy blinked and looked over as Fenris stepped into the kitchen as well, arms crossed over his chest with a frown on his face. Mel rolled her eyes, but didn't even glance back at him. "Whatever Kiwi is, it's clearly built for battle. I don't think they'd forget to make it water proof given it's bound to encounter water attacks," she pointed out, shaking her hands as she turned the water off with her wrist, and reached for a hand towel. Fenris huffed and rolled his eyes a bit. He blinked, though, as he felt a tug at his pants leg, and looked down to Lucy, who leg go once she had his attention. And once his gaze met hers, she offered a smile, and a wave. "Chim char!" she greeted.
He blinked, frowning. Mel glanced back, flashing a smile. "That's Lucy, by the way," she introduced, turning towards them as she dried her hands. Fenris shifted, glancing away, but then finally giving a nod and lifting a hand off his bicep to give a slight wave. "Hi." He looked back up at Mel, and Lucy tilted her head to the side curiously. "You named her after dad's mum?" he asked. Mel nodded, setting the cloth back on its hook. "Yeah, seemed fitting..." She shrugged. "Anyway, any word when Dad's s'posed to be back?" she asked, leaning back against the counter and crossing his arm.

Fenris looked at her, but then shook his head. "No. Might be a bit, though. You know how he is when he's buying things," he replied, giving a shrug. Mel made a bit of a face. "He's buying things? I thought he was just going to get some stuff together," she muttered. Fenris raised an eyebrow at her. "Never said he was buying things for you, you know. But why are you complaining? Saves you money to do your kind of shopping," he pointed out, lifting his hands up a bit, but keeping his arms crossed over his chest. "Besides, you know he's probably going to get distracted and buy something for mum, too." Mel paused, then softened her expression, smiling some. "Most things for mum, you mean. Anyway... I guess I might as well work on the car, then, in the meantime," she decided, scratching the back of her neck, "Kiwi too." She flashed a smile to the little robot, who had remained on the counter, twitching now and then, but otherwise still. "You want to come with, Fenris?" she asked, picking up Kiwi and tucking it into her arms.
Her brother shook his head, giving a wave as he dropped his arms and turned to head back into the living room. "No thanks. I'll go save Brian from Kiara, though, and let him know you'll be in the garage," he replied. Mel nodded, starting back through the kitchen towards the living room. "Thanks Fen."

The garage was outside the house, squished in between their house, and the large building next door. They rarely used it since, honestly, you could walk, bike, or if you really needed, take some public transportation, just about anywhere, but her dad had an old, old care that was from.... his dad's dad's dad's dad? Some x generations back, and she'd been trying to get it working for him in her spare time. During highschool, and while trying to train to be a cop, she had done a lot of part time work in an auto shop. Aside from that, she'd also been in a robotics club, and she hung out with her friends in their never ending efforts to engineer this or that. That was, when she wasn't at her dad's dojo, shopping, or hanging out with her girlfriends.
Honestly, though, she liked the work, when she felt like being productive, and doing something to relax herself a bit. Her dad already had all the tools -- not that he used him, he wasn't really any good at this kind of thing -- and she could always use his credit card to buy more if she needed it. Thinking about it, though.... she wasn't going to have much access to this stuff anymore. Heck, she was going to have to put her project on hold. She set Kiwi down on the bench, looking around. Maybe she should ask her dad about bringing some of this with her, honestly....

Lucy wandered in after Mel, having followed her from the kitchen. Z was either struggling to get through the doors, or had conceded defeat and decided to stay in, because she didn't hear him following after. Mel glanced back, noticing the chimchar, and flashed a smile. "'Lo Lucy. What do you think?" she asked, nodding around. She paused, then looked to Kiwi, walking back to the twitching robot, and, apparently, changing the question a bit. Or perhaps just not segueing very well. "Think Z thinks it's a pokemon, y'know," she commented, picking Kiwi up in her arms. The bunny seemed to shift its gaze to Mel, which made Lucy perk up in surprise. It had barely even registered anything around it, up until then. It blinked. Mel smiled a bit. "I'm not really sure how that's possible, though, to be honest," she admitted, tilting Kiwi this way and that, looking it over, "It's still a robot, after all. What does it take to make something a 'pokemon'? I feel like they're just as much their own thing as people are. Seems a bit insulting to suggest you can just build one with nothing more than technology..."
Lucy walked over, sitting down by Mel and looking up at the creature. "Then again, I suppose people made Porgyon, too, didn' they?" the girl mused, pulling Kiwi in closer, looking down at it a bit.

Suddenly, Mel flashed Lucy a very playful, sly smile. "You know, there is one way to tell..." she commented. She set Kiwi down, then pulled out one of the empty pokeballs the Professor had given her, wiggling it a bit and looking at Lucy with raised eyebrows. Her starter blinked in surprise, and Mel's smile relaxed. "Probably best to wait until it's fixed, though," she admitted, putting the ball away as she looked back at Kiwi. The robot shifted, then stood itself up a bit, looking blankly at Mel. The girl's expression softened a bit and she lifted a hand to give it a little pet, before moving away. "Anyway--"
"Mel, you in here?"
Mel looked over as she lifted up the car hood, but turned back to the engine and leaned over to move a few cords. "Yeah!" she called back, just as Brian poked his head in. He looked around until he spotted her, then dropped his gaze to Lucy and flashed her a smile. "Hey Lucy, sorry about ditching out earlier," he apologized, slipping past her and moving to grab a chair while pulling out a bag of marshmallows from... well, seemingly nowhere, honestly.

Lucy gave a nonchalant chime at Brian's apology and followed after him, looking curiously at the marshmallows. "Want one?" he offered, holding one out to the fire ape. Lucy took it, looking over it curiously, before taking a bite, and perking up. Mel glanced over, frowning. "Seriously Bri, you're going to rot your teeth, eating like that. And how the hell do you always seem to have those on you, anyway...?" she muttered, eying the bag. Brian shrugged, grabbing another few out of the bag to hand to Lucy, and then getting a few for himself. "Dunno. S'my super power," he replied, popping one into his mouth. He looked over at Kiwi in the bench next to him. ".... Want one, Kiwi?" he offered, holding one out to the robot.
The cybunny blinked, then turned towards him. It took a clumsy step over, and reached out, taking the marshmallow, and examining it. Mel gave him an incredulous look. "Brian! That could muck up its systems or something!" she chastised, stomping over to snatch it away from Kiwi. The robot lowered its arms, and resumed its blank staring straight ahead. Brian shrugged, looking at her with a mouthful of marshmallows. "Thowee."

Mel rolled her eyes at the apology, eyed the marshmallow consideringly, and then quickly just handed it to Lucy. "Char!" the pokemon cried gratefully, taking this one, and finishing one of the others Brian had given her. She took a seat, munching on a marshmallow as she watched her trainer resume fiddling with the car. "So are you going to take Kiwi with you?" Brian asked, swallowing his food and lifting a hand to gently scratch the top of Kiwi's head. The little robot bunny blinked slowly and maintained its empty stare, evidently indifferent to the petting. Mel glanced back at the two. "Not sure yet... It's a bit heavy to carry around with me all the time," she admitted, returning to the car, "But if I'm right, and it is capable of battle, it could be rather handy to bring with me. Brian nodded a bit, looking at the robot curiously, then pulling his hand back and looking at Mel. "Either way, this project will probably have to wait," she commented, lifting a hand up and slamming the hood of the car down, "There's not a lot more I can get done before I go, and I'm still waiting on some parts." She walked over, picking Kiwi up, and moving to take a seat on a stool by the bench. "Might as well see if I can get this twitching to stop..." The little robo rabbit had been giving occasional twitches and stutters, but she was fairly certain fixing it would take a little longer. She had to figure out what the problem was, first. "You two want to head in and get yourselves some real food? I can come join in a bit. It's almost noon, after all," she commented, placing Kiwi on the bench and examining it before grabbing a few tools.
Brian looked over at Lucy, who turned to meet his gaze. "Char!" the pokemon remarked, standing up. Brian grinned. "Yeah, sure. Want me to make you a sandwich?" he asked, standing and walking over to offer Lucy his arm. The chimchar stuffed the last marshmallow in her mouth, then hopped up, grabbing his arm and climbing up to his shoulder. "Yeah, sure. Turkey, if we have it," Mel replied distractedly, already setting to work. Brian nodded, tossing another marshmallow in his mouth, before putting the bag away, and heading back around to the front of the house.

Making his way into the kitchen, Brian curiously peered over at Z, who seemed to be laid out on the floor, sleeping soundly. Lucy looked curiously at him too, hopping over, but following Brian to the kitchen. "You want a sandwich, Lucy? Should probably get you some pokefood, actually...." he mused, busying around the kitchen. Lucy looked at him curiously, but then hopped up on the table, gazing with interest at Blue. "So, you've been with Mel a long time?" she asked curiously, moving to lay on her stomach as she looked curiously at the goldeen. Blue eyed her, swimming from side to side in his fish bowl. "Mm, yes... since she was rather young. Her father won me at some... fair," he replied casually. Lucy perked up a little. She was actually kind of surprised how detached he sounded about the whole thing. Most pokemon, she would have thought, would be a bit more disgusted, or displeased, at mentioning having been a prize at some fair. Blue didn't seem to really mind, though.

Lucy propped her arms up on the table and rested her chin in her hands. "Huh... You're really pretty. Have you always been these colors?" she asked curiously, kicking her feet in the air while Brian distractedly tried to make food in the background, talking to himself as he tried to find things. "My whole life, yes." It was a little hard to tell because, well... fish, but Blue seemed to smile. "You're very pretty yourself, though. Do you plan to go shopping with Mel?" he asked conversationally. Lucy blinked, dropping her hands down and lifting her head up. "Shopping?" she repeated, "I... hadn't really thought about it..." Though, on reflection, she did kind of remember Brian mentioning something. Did Mel go shopping a lot...?

The answer was yes. Yes Mel did go shopping a lot. It was convenient she happened to live in such a big city, otherwise she would have probably spent half her life just commuting to and from the shops. "Has she ever taken you shopping?" Lucy asked curiously, and Blue eyed her oddly a moment. Their conversation was interrupted, however, as Brian returned, and, with food. Lucy glanced at Blue, but moved to follow him to the living room, hopping onto the shoulder, and joining him in trying another go at the video games. She was pretty sure she would be able to get the hang of it this time...
