Gaius' eyes were focused on his target. He followed it's movements with his eyes, not seeming to care when Serenity was attacked. He cared, of course, but his focus had to stay concentrated or the arte wouldn't be effective and would probably miss. Seeing as he only had one shot at this, he couldn't afford to be distracted. At the very least, she was alive thanks to her dragon friend. After Hubert attacked the monster and sent it back, Gaius closed his eyes for a moment as crimson wind swirled around him and his blade. In one quick movement, Gaius sent a powerful red wave at their opponent. Thanks to its weakened state, the creature was defeated with ease as the arte did its job. Somethig about it felt different, though. It was more...tiring than it used to be. Was it because he was casting it himself rather than a spirit helping him out? Moving the thought out of his mind, Gaius sheathed his sword and walked over to his two companions, Serenity's summon disappearing back into the card it came from. "...She's out of energy it seems. Fighting must not be her top priority where she's from. Maybe it's just because of the attack she was hit with. Either way, if we stay here, more monsters will probably show up. I have no choice but to carry her now." Gaius knelt and picked up the cards that had been scattered when the monster first appeared, his eyes lingering for just a second on the trio of identical cards. All the others were different, but this set was the same. Serenity had a very peculiar deck of cards. Once the cards were back in her bag, Gaius lifted her and walked towards the city. If they were attacked by another monster, he wasn't going to be very happy. Using his charged Incernation Wave was taxing on his mind even with the help of the spirits. Without them, it was too tiring. Maybe he could use Muzét to use it in the future.

As Zaul spoke to both her and Maka, Krystal took a sip of her water. From the way it sounded, they would mostly be traveling by foot. Glancing over to Jade, the blue vixen gave a nod. "I have no objections to it." Like with Zaul, she too was interested with learning more about the others' worlds as well as learning more about Aselia. Her ear twitched from hearing Soul groaned about Jade's comment about having to walk mostly. Apparently he didn't like the idea of having to walk. She tilted her head slightly when Maka mentioned that she would be stuck carrying him. "Is there something wrong with him, Maka?" She asked.

The way Elize had spoke, it sounded as though that there someone else was with her. Tear would assume that she had a friend somewhere nearby. Cross had answered the young girl's question as to where they are, even mentioned the name of the world. Though Cross's assumption had her wonder if Elize was from a different world as well. Her gaze shifted over to Mamizou when she offered to pay for a room at the inn, though didn't seem to remember the currency. "I could help pay for the room as well. The inhabitants here use the same currency like the ones used back home." As she spoke, she took out only a few Gald from her possession just to show Mamizou.

Sheena was impressed Lutz was able to kill it that easily. Of course, she had said it was one of the weaker monsters. Putting her cards away, she turned to him and shook her head. "Just wait a moment. Monster corpses disintegrate quickly. It's not messy at all." Even as she spoke, the grasshopper's corpse began to crumble before it was just...gone. Going over, Sheena picked up a small bag that didn't hold a lot of gald. Which was admittedly disappointing. "See? Easy and clean. Sometimes you get ash to shift through, but that's not something to worry about. Here. This gald is yours; you defeated it."





Daermod chuckled. He had a tendency to talk a lot when he was sharing information. When Kokoro suddenly said she was good at dances, the siblings looked at each other for a few moments before Chani laughed a bit. "Maybe we can dance together sometime then! Unless dancing is your form of combat, but I wouldn't know...." Daermod would be interested in seeing that. Dance combat. Didn't sound unusual considering the people of Mizuho used cards. "Let's keep going. The longer we stand around, the more likely monsters will find us. It's best not to look for fights."

She knew this kid had no gald. Looked like they'd have to work something out. Maybe he could use that dragon of his to break her crew out of jail and get her ship out of those damn mountains around the Flanior region. Then again, that would cause more bad than good for everyone. Civilians could be hurt, guards could kill the crew as they escaped, and even Toothless could be hurt. "I'll think of something you can do to repay me. Maybe I'll just take all the gald you get from monsters or from doing quests. Heh!...Anyway, from here, Meltokio is the closest city, but....I'm not welcome there. Not exactly friendly with the law right now. I could show you the Temple of Earth or Sybak."

Yuan closed his eyes for a moment to mentally sigh and think, He ignores my inquiry as to who he is, and decides to introduce himself now. Seriously. He pinched his brow before opening his eyes.

Azura's eyes slightly widened at the next thing Seishin wrote and drew out. She lightly pounded her fist upon her palm, a gesture of realization. "A portal! Just as I suspected!" In her excitement, she kind of...glossed over Rhone's remarks about Seishin and turned her glance back up at the two angelic men. Her mood was going to drag them right along with her. "Kratos, Yuan, you guys mention that the seal at this Ginunggagap place locks away another world; specifically, the realm of demons, right?"

"Correct..." Kratos affirmed.

She paced back and forth as she spoke and gestured enthusiastically. "So, a lock on another dimension. A direct interference among the threads of time and space. A necessary thing, but an interference nonetheless. I propose a theory---the demons' resistance to the seal is an act that's sending out disturbances along the time-space fabrics surrounding this world, resulting in portals. Thus how Seishin got here."

"But what doesn't make sense is why they'd bring him here."

Azura stopped at a spot adjacent to Seishin, folding her arms. Gazing at the spirit with a smile of intrigue, she answered Kratos. "That probably wasn't their intent. Heck, they probably wouldn't know that this sort of thing happens. Trans-dimensional crossing of this scale is the most precise when one has the knowledge and the means; namely, the technology. I doubt such brutes have either."

"And are you implying that there would be even more instances of this?" Yuan chimed in.

"I'm pretty sure of it. Scattered across the world, even. When there is no effort to control things, the results are often very very random." She slid her hands into her coat pockets now. "Please excuse me for a few moments. I have got to go to the site of the portal to collect data." With that, she began to casually walk in the direction Seishin came from. Using the trail of his scent, she didn't need to ask where the vortex was.

Hōpu's paws? It took a few moments for Natalia and Arlin to realize she was referring to her companion being blind. That was interesting. Sophie suddenly spoke, suggesting they find something go do together. She was a sweet girl.

"Why don't go to the steamship for a bit and Arlin can take Arianna and look for a map or ask around? I doubt we'd get any answers from four strangers surrounding a citizen. We'd probably scare the poor person."






She wouldn't be walking well in her condition, so Hubert wasn't going to argue against Gaius' choice. He had the right idea, even if Serenity didn't look too pleased about it. "I grew up using artes. I guess different worlds have different priorities. Your body probably has to adapt."

Gilgamesh walked ahead toward the town, drawing some strange looks from the people standing near the gate. "Ah, a settlement of various... village-dwelling personages!" Gilgamesh took a few more steps, stopped, and spoke to himself in what, for him, passed for a lowered voice. "Maybe I oughta take a page outta Bartz's book and take a look around the town. Maybe that's how he gets so..."

Shaking his head, Gilgamesh turned to face Dart and Lord. "Yeah, let's scope out the place! Makes me wished I had learned Libra that one time. How's about I go ask these villagefolk where we are? No one in such a humble hamlet could possibly resist my good looks!" He pointed a thumb at his face.

Scythe watched curiously as the tall man in the red coat tried shooting his lance, he yelped when the man grabbed him and pulled him towards the buildings "H-hey what are you doing? this is no way to ask for a date!" he sunddenly stopped struggling and watched excitedly as the lance hit the water; he hooped as the wave washed over everything near the lake, he danced around in the aftermath for a moment; but then stopped ears drooping as his stomach rumbled and whimpered; after a moment he turned to the tall man in the red coat and; curling over his hands; held them up to his chest and looked at the man with shining eyes while his tails waved in the air behind him "Mr. red-coat man do you have any food?" after a second he suddenly dived at the man; trying to get into his pockets
