Angellen So it's the "druids are pagans but not all pagans are druids" thing, then? Warlocks practice dark magic but not all dark magic practitioners are warlocks? Am I remotely correct? That seems to be what he is saying. It is like saying "all catholics are christians, but not all christians are catholic". Or "All humans are bipeds, but not all bipeds are humans". That is what he is saying at any rate.

Although it's fiction, I like L.J. Smith's take on Witches, wherein all witches are Witches, male or Female, and Warlocks are a word humans made up.
Most things I've read or seen place Warlocks as evil. I'd assume they would be a 'witch' who turned to darker practices and became labeled as warlocks. all I really know is that it sounds like a word of Germanic origin, and the old Germanic people loved their tales of supernatural things attacking and making people 'disappear'.

They liked more than that, and it actually sounds A bit more celtic to me. Anyway, it is an interesting hypothesis, even if incorrect. Who is that author, anyway?

I only think it's Germanic because it's such a harsh word. 4laugh As for L.J., or Lisa Jane, Smith, she's an author from California who got popular writing Young Adult Supernatural Romance/Horror stories until her brother-in-law died of melatoma, though she's set to have a new book out again this year/early next year. Her titles are all series, a duology on Arthurian myths called 'Night of Valor' and 'Heart of the Solstice' (be warned, Morgana Le Faye is the GOOD guy in these), her quartet 'The Vampire Diaries' (based on old vampire legends), her trilogies 'Forbidden Game' (Based on Norse mythology and runic magic), 'The Secret Circle' (about a coven of witches in Maine who name themselves after gods/goddesses), and 'Dark Visions' (a great trilogy about psychic teenagers who use crystals), and her newest set of books, the long running 'Night World' where she writes modern vampires, weres, and witches living among humans just before the 'apocolypse' of 2000 (they were written in the mid-late 90's). Her witches remind me greatly of Wiccans in their rituals and the way they use their powers, which is why I enjoy her series so much, she seems to do a vast amount of research to keep her 'creatures' as believable as possible. I'd reccommend them to anyone between the ages of 13 and 25 who is interested in the occult and likes to read believable tales (I do NOT reccomend Vampire Diaries, it's her worst series and the end was pushed and it's obvious). To stay on topic, she also mentions in one of those tales, I believe, that Warlocks were evil beings who went against Witches and reuined their reputations. My personal belief is that Warlock is a term that should be used only for true demons, or people who use magic for selfish and cruel purposes, while Witches are good people who use powers to help people, as Witch is derived from a word meaning 'wise ones' which held no gender afflictions.

I have a question, Why would Warlocks want to hurt Witches in the first place? If they know how we live our lives or the good some do for themselves and others why would you want to cause those people harm? It sounds like Warlocks do more harm then they think they're taking away I mean bending time, physically and mentally hurting someone, just because of who they are or the lifestyle that they choose, though sadly it happens every day..though at to the extent of what you're discribing baffles my mind. They sort of remind me of the KKK, to be frank. It saddens me that even in the age we're in now that there is such an outright hatred that one brings up their family in and someone wanting to be a part of it is even more disturbing. Though I have to admit I know nothing about these types of Warlocks, not being one myself.

We should be able to go out bag and tag 6-8 ppl a day. Just to help conserve resources and preserve the life on the planet. Basically it is what they do. Balance in life is a nessecty evil is just as needed as good light and day all that... choose to believe or choose not too.

I do not care what you think, if you believe otherwise, you have not paid enough attention.
