Scarlett could do nothing but laugh at Lloyd's logic, even Lilith cracked a smile at the Blood Knight's joke.
"I said puppy, not demon-puppy." She replied, trying to remain serious despite Lloyd's light-hearted attitude. Lilith flinched as Lloyd held the three-headed puppy towards her. She wasn't scared of it, it was simply against her paladin nature to remain passive in the presence of a demon. Every part of her body screamed at her to kill the creature, but she couldn't. She knew Lloyd was only trying to impress her.
"You couldn't have just given her a belly rub like I said too..." Lilith muttered, rubbing her face.

"I tried, at least I got the puppy part right. At least hold him, think about it." He persisted, in his mind there was nothing wrong with this beast. It met every requirement.
"And for the record, I did that. We had a good talk about ourselves, how much we meant to each other."

"He speaks the truth." Scarlett adds from her spot on the floor amid some piled blankets and their like as she nursed the newborn.
Eyeballing the demon-puppy as Lloyd pushed it towards her again, Lilith hesitated a moment. It did appear fairly young, perhaps with the right training and attention it could learn to ignore its more demonic nature. Lilith tosses her arms up in a surrender like fashion. "You got me there than..." She states, gently taking the puppy from Lloyd's waiting hands. She had no clue how to treat the creature, so she turned it over and cradled it in her arms like a human baby. "There is that what you wanted?"
As if answering her question, the rightmost of demon-puppy's heads yawned loudly and nodded off, the left one was already asleep and judging by the twitching of its left feet was dreaming of chasing something, but the center head simply looked up at Lilith with its big red puppy eyes.

"See, he likes you already. Everything will be just fine." Boasted Lloyd, odd to see her holding it like a child though. The center head licked her fingers and barked softly at the paladin.
A little later that night, the puppy and the new mommy were fast asleep. Though the newborn was a different story. With mom out of commission, Lloyd and Lilith picked up from where she left off. Lloyd was holding the child, whom Scarlett had named Roxanne. He was trying to put her back to sleep.
"How long is Roxy going to stay up for..." Complained the Blood Knight, clearly he was not good with children.

It was from there Eric stopped Roxanne. "Roxanne, you don't think this has to do with you, do you? I mean, call it coincidence, but there's a lot of signs that points to you, I think. I know you don't like talking about it, but what was your mother like?"

"I'd like to think if it as coincidence as well but the more and more I read, the less and less I believe that." Roxanne answers, flipping ahead to the next page of the journal. "Similar to this Scarlett person, sorta scholarly but also a bookworm. Although my mother doesn't have quite as many books as this book is making out Scarlett as having."
(I figure as Roxanne grew up, Scarlett had to sell off more and more of her books to fed her and etc.)
"If Lilith ever give a good description of the baby's birthmark we'll know for sure, because I can just compare it to mine."

Lilith rolls her eyes and walks over to take the child in her arms, much like she had the demon-puppy a few hours earlier. "She's just been violently ejected from the warm padded, all-you-can-eat womb. Give her some credit..." Lilith replies, gently cradling the small red-head.

"I guess you can keep reading and see if we can find anything about it. A drawing, description, anything along those lines."
By now, the entitled creature living in Roxanne's womb had settle down. That was until Eric decided to look at the book with her and see if he could find anything about the birthmark for himself. Strong movement from within made it very well known that Eric was not allowed to choose when he was done pampering the belly.
"Okay okay, I'll continue, sheesh."

"What can I say when you put it that way. She had a pretty good deal there, save for rental space." He teased as she removed the child from his arms. Lloyd even offered the chair he had been sitting on to Lilith and Roxanne.
"After witnessing the process of life and a birth for myself, I can honestly say I do not envy women. I'll keep to admiring the form."

"One can only hope." Roxanne replies, handing the book off to Eric so she might properly attend to the whims of the creatures distorting her massive womb with their kicks and movement.

"You'll be doing more than that before I'm done with you..." Lilith countered with a grin as she planted herself in Lloyd's now vacant chair.
It was a slippery slope she was riding, first breaking her vow of chastity and now harboring a demon, but Lilith felt deep down in her heart she was doing it for a good reason.
The baby seemed to agree because despite lacking her mother's increased breast size, the child attempted to grapple one of Lilith's breasts through the thin nightshirt she wore.

"You're a really good tease for a paladin, you know that?" He turned a light shade of red. She was going to make remarks like that until she actually let him, wasn't she. He would say more on the subject, but he noticed Roxanne going for a food source, or so she thought.
"Great, don't look now, but I think she's hungry again. Was trying to put her to sleep before that happened. I'm going to have to wake up Scarlett, won't I?" Asked Lloyd.

Lilith shrugs. "I'm a fast learner, plus just because I don't do it doesn't mean I don't know how..."
Gently pushing the baby's hand away from her breast, Lilith begins to cradle her and hum lightly.
"And no, let her sleep. I'm sure between helping you summon a demon and giving birth she should be exhausted."

Lloyd shrugged and leaned behind the chair, watching the paladin and her sense of motherly duty and maternal instinct towards the child in her arms. After a while of watching and nearly falling asleep thanks to her sweet humming, the blood knight noticed something very strange about that' child's birthmark. "Whats that on her chest."He removed some of the cloth from her body to take a better look at it. It was small and faint, but something about it's design and shape appeared deliberate. "Never seen a birthmark quite like that before. You think we should take her to the town doctor?"((( OOC: Something like this, well something like that once she's older. )))

"A doctor won't be any use, I can sense magic about the mark." Lilith replied, holding the baby up closer to her face so she could get a good look at the birthmark. Roxanne was fine with this new attention as it allowed her to reach out and play with Lilith's long blonde hair.
Licking her finger, Lilith tried to rub the mark off but nothing happened. In fact the mark distorted with the baby's skin, like it was part of her.
(Given the magic of the birthmark, the mark will move as she grows up. The only people who notice this is of course Scarlett but she doesn't tell anyone. As a baby the mark remained on her chest, during her teen years it moved to her belly, but now as an adult it is located on the back of her neck, hidden by her shoulder length red hair.)

"Magic?" Lloyd palmed his face and groaned. He felt responsible for this. Surely that had to do with the summoning in a way. Even more odd than the mark itself was it's ability to distort.
"Well, it doesn't seem like its a bad thing..."

A few weeks later, Lloyd and Lilith were returning from the market. With the new baby in Scarlett's care. Lloyd was doing everything in his power to help her out and to leave her with a bit of money before it was time for him and his partner to leave Scarlett behind again.
Something about having a baby around that wasn't even theirs seemed to have opened their eyes to the other children playing around outside, as well as all the expectant parents they may have not noticed before.
A little boy waved to them, remembering that Lilith had saved his dog a couple of days back. Seeing the smile on her face, Lloyd had to ask.
"Lilith, have you thought of having a child yourself?"

Lilith returned the little boy's wave with one of her own.
"Not before meeting you anyway." Lilith answered. "But theres no real surprise there as most the men of the temple are over zealous nutjobs."
Noticing that the black-red furred creature romping through the foliage on their left had stopped, Lilith let out a shrill but loud whistle which she hoped would call the three-headed puppy back to their side.
"Come 'ere Eclipse! Come!"

On command, the cerberus dashed out, tripping over his feet some, but managed to sit a bark at it's master. Eclipse was aptly named by Lilith, her refused to call the puppy killer.
"You're kidding, right? But you know what that means if I can't finish off that guy for good. You're willing to let your son or daughter be subjected to the kind of curse that's plagued my side of their family?"He asked the paladin. That was quite an important question for him, but already answered when she said she would be at his side to help him.

"No, I'm not. You are the first real man in my life, with the exception of Keith but he's more a boy than a man." Lilith replied, pointing the cerberus down the trail they currently followed back to Scarlett's residence.
"And yes, I am aware that such an outcome is possible but thats not going to happen with the two of us together."
