Mitsu seemed to consider his offer. It had been a while since she had trained. It would be best to condition herself for at least defense if nothing else.
"I..suppose it couldn't hurt." She just hoped Shun wouldn't summon his daggers out of some instinctual habit.

Nodding to that, Shun took a few moments to loosen himself up. He then made his way to the center of the room and waited for her to join him. When they were both there, he bowed to her first, then shifted into a fighting stance. No daggers appeared, just as he said. He let out a slow breath as he got himself focused, and his good eye narrowed as he shifted into a more combative mindset.
There, he waited, watching to see what his fiance would do first.

Watching Shun get ready, Mitsu stood by quietly, lightly stretching herself so that she wouldn't pull anything. Sparring now had her somewhat nervous, the thought of being part of combat was something she had kept as far from her mind as possible.
Once her reaper was ready she followed him to the center of the room. Returning his bow she got into a stance of her own but her time away from training showed in her posture. She was somewhat off balance, her eyes not as focused as they should have been as she waited in silence. When Shun failed to make a first move the lycan hesitantly moved in to do so.
Her fist came in with a punch that was a little on the weak side for her. It left her side open and her feet just couldn't seem to keep up with her movements.

Shun noticed some hesitation in Mitsu's movements, but it wasn't enough to keep her from landing a relatively solid blow. Grunting lowly as he received her punch, he noticed that her left side was open. There was some level of awkwardness in her stance and movements as a whole really.
She was likely rusty though. And he was going to do what he could to hone her back into shape. For now, he went on and capitalized on the opening she left, making a strike to her side with his fist.
"Try not to expose yourself too much," he said quietly. While he wasn't taking it easy on her, he was still going to give her advice if possible. That was more than what he would do with most people he sparred with.

The strike to her side shouldn't have been a surprise but she yelped none the less, nursing the area a bit as she retreated to gather her bearings again. "R..right." It felt like she was learning to do this all over again. How to move, how to throw a punch. The only thing she had going for her at the moment was that she was naturally a little stronger by nature. Without that she would likely be up the creek without a paddle.
Pulling her hand from her side Mitsu got back into stance with the idea to try again. Instead of using her fist this time she decided to use her feet. Maybe taking Shun down first would be the easiest way to end this quickly.
Rushing up on him quickly she pulled her leg back and aimed a kick toward his knee hoping to take him off his feet.

Shun saw her coming, and though he tried to move out of the way, it wasn't enough. Her kick came swiftly before he could dodge, and it had struck his knee rather hard. Grunting, his leg buckled out from under him, and he went down fairly hard too. Pain radiated from his leg, but he didn't mind. It was just a part of sparring.
With a light grimace, he kicked out with his other leg, in an attempt to sweep Mitsu down as well before she could really capitalize on him being downed.

She had managed to take him down but she stumbled back out of the way as he kicked out trying to fend her off from another attack. In doing so she nearly fell, taking a moment to regain her balance before she got back in a defensive pose.
"A...are you alright?"

The reaper was expecting Mitsu to strike him while he was still down, but that never came. Shun pushed himself up to his feet and turned towards her, taking note of the defensive posture she was now in.
"I'm fine," he said quietly, "Don't worry while we're still sparring. We can tend to our bumps once we're done."
Letting out a breath, he shifted forth and went on to try and see if he could break through her defense. He first struck twice, doing two quick jabs. But then followed up with a kick towards her midsection.

There was quite a bit of frantic noise that came from Mitsu as she flailed to block Shun's incoming attacks. Somehow she managed to keep each blow from connecting to its intended target but how long would she be able to keep this up?
Shun was good about not leaving many openings for her to strike at and she was hesitant to go for any too quickly. It was only by random chance that she was able to sneak in a jab to his side, hoping to push him back to give her a little bit of space.

Soon after he had attacked, Shun felt a jab digging into his side from the lycan. It was enough to get him to back off, if even for the moment. Mitsu was doing pretty good right now, considering how long its been since they've done this sort of training. This was good though. Perhaps the muscle memory was still there with her then. Not only that, but it was also challenging him as well.
Win. Win.
Deciding to try and mix things up a bit, he came in towards the right, but it was just a feint. He never connected, and instead struck her left while he had the chance.

The faint certainly caught her off guard. Mitsu had forgotten this little trick that Shun often used and had begun to protect her side only for him to go after the other. The jab made her want to recoil and retreat but she fought against her mental need to be somewhere safe and returned a swift kick to Shun's knee again before she shifted to the side out of the way.

Shun ended up taking another swift kick to his leg, causing him to go down again. Grimacing, he tried to make the most of this and rolled towards Mitsu to close the distance. As he did this, he struck out with his good leg aiming for her torso as he did this.

The blow to her torso took her off her feet and sent her flying backward to land on her rear. She landed with an grunt, her face scrunched painfully as she reached back to rub her aching backside. The little aches and pains were a lot harder to ignore than they used to be or maybe it was because she could imagine them as something more. Or maybe it hadn't been the pain before but the helplessness to make it stop.
In any case Mitsu seemed too sluggish to attack again, taking her time to collect herself off the floor.

With his strike knocking her back, Shun took a moment to get back to his feet as well. His one leg was aching, having been struck behind the knee twice. There was a small limp to his step as he made his way towards where Mitsu was on the ground. There, he took her by the arms to try and hoist her back to her feet, albeit a little roughly.

"Ow ow ow," Mitsu hissed slightly as Shun hoisted her to her feet. She steadied herself quickly, trying to brush his hands away to let him know she no longer needed his aid. It seemed her willingness to fight had slightly died out, even with her strength as her advantage. She had been out of the game for a while and even knowing the benefit behind the training it was hard to keep up with.
