Desidero gave a bit of a smug sensation as the blade sunk into the tiny creature, it’s form flickering for a moment. He wanted Marcus to want. He wanted Marcus to go back to his base desires. To back to how the vampire thought things should have been. Marcus wanted… He slashed out again, scowling.
He wanted to keep Cass safe. He wanted to be safe. He wanted to get the power to do that. To save people. To be what he couldn’t have been. To have been accepted. To have been wanted.

He kicked at the creature, face falling into a mask of indifference. Let them see nothing. Let them know nothing. Don’t let them see what was under the surface. Don’t let them see the part of you that you hated. The part of you that scared you, because when it smiled, you knew that you’d given it just what it wanted.
What you wanted.

To want the world, to want power, to feel it was his right, to feel he should have had it, that he’d somehow earned such a thing- Marcus wanted to deny it. Wanted to just take what he had as be content. Yet nothing was ever enough for him. For them.

Yet nothing worth having was worth the risk. Nothing was worth risking it all. Risk losing what mattered most. Perhaps that was why as he hacked at the creature, Marcus kept up his mask. Because no matter how much Dis wanted in the end Marcus would never take it. Not without the right price. Blue eyes held the only betrayal as he looked to the visage of the fallen hunter, the mockery of what was. A price had been paid, the reward had been a knowledge. A knowledge that oneday, things would end.

It would simply be up to Marcus to determine how things ended on his own terms.

Solia kept swatting at the tiny elf hands, Trying to rid them from her rather tiny marshmallow like form. Prompting a very odd series of angry chirps from the bow that was flicking blue with indignation.
Solia! Stop this at once, I am not a bat, I am a bow! A long bow, not long bat, bow. Bow like-
Solia gave a mental scowl at the siren. She knew what he was and yet shooting the thing so close to her feet? Nope, she knew how that story went thank you very much. Plus hitting it was proving to be rather effective.

By rather effective, Solia was pretty sure, it was super effective, the thwack of wood metal was a satisfying sound. Organic yet inorganic. Something that was magical in it’s own way. Something that only Halloween could make. As she hit the little thing again and again, there was a certain feeling of accomplishment as it stopped pulling on her for a while. It was hard to move as bundled as she was. Not to mention it was warm. She’d worn to many layers. And stripping was out. Mostly as stripping on the battlefield?

Not that classy.

As she kept hearing Israfel go on and on about how he was a bow and not a bird that went around hitting things, Solia rolled her eyes. The little.. elf thing… was persistent however, refusing to stop dragging her along. No. Elf. Elf thing. Stahp. Stahp elf. Giving it a taste of bladed feathers seemed to work but not for very long, sending it to just tug on her coat harder, boots pushing back. Oh the bane of being tiny.

Finally, Solia took a shot, pouting as indeed, so close she ended up missing her target. See, now this was why she avoided to this sort of thing. It never worked.

One good solid swing later- The hing vanished like she had gone and batted it right out of the park. Siren in her skull giving a screech, Solia shook her head. The siren was NOT a bat yes she knew, but it worked. They could argue about that later. For right now, she wanted to just.. get back to helping. To maybe, just maybe, figuring out what was going on, and getting rid of these darn ponies.

Tiny cold hands had pulled them through into - somewhere, and when Jordan got his balance and looked up, summoning Ferros reflexively, he saw - no, it wasn't Julie, this was a twisted copy, a parody made by the fog - anger swelled in him, why couldn't it just let her rest, was it because she'd been eaten by -

"No," he whispered as the memories and nightmares slipped back up out of the place he kept them boxed in, blackness fuzzing in at the edges of his vision. His hands were numb, and he couldn't stop his fingers from uncurling, Ferros falling from his hand with a thud before the weapon desummoned himself, returning to his hunter.

Jordan! Ferros's voice was worried, desperate. Jordan, it's not her! Focus!

Too late. The memory had taken over, and all Jordan could feel and think was the way the bugs had looked writhing in the hollow shell of flesh that had once been a human, a Hunter, her weapon still glowing fitfully, not yet a tablet, and he remembered all too clearly the hallucinatory vision, the horrible pleasant clarity of purpose and the bugs working his limbs like a puppet and the distant faroff trapped screaming that he could barely feel was himself -

He stood empty-handed and blank-eyed, staring at the figure in the fog, ignoring the elves that tugged at his clothes and limbs.

There was a thud behind them that jarred Rep's attention away from the crowns and from Julie. Tracey leapt to attention too, set on the alert for some indefinable reason by the sound. He turned on his heel to look and spotted another figure he knew as well as himself.

"Jordan!"

Where was Ferros? The tug of anxiety was felt twofold as the angel shifted in his thoughts.

Help him.>

It was as if he was physically dragged into motion by the sharpness of the fallen angel's tone, heading back to the other hunter. Something was wrong, it was clear the moment he got there, and even as he turned his attention to hacking some more ******** elf up, he called out.

"You okay man?"

< Ask why he's unarmed.>

Remi had, for all intensive purposes, entered the portal along with the masses wondering what was on the other side...

Only to find himself looking down at a midget, whom seemed to be a little TOO happy about the fact it was trying to drag him towards... something holding a tray. No... some-one- holding something. Briefly the fox shook one of his red stained paws, trying to get the annoying thing to vanish.

It only started to tug more and more.

The red stone in Ferros's ring flashed erratically and brightly; the dragon couldn't call out to Rep and Tracey, but he could do this. Jordan had retreated into his own mind, shocky and unresponsive, and Ferros couldn't shake him out of it.

Rep's gaze darted frantically over Jordan. No injuries that he could see, that was a start, he was intact.

<> he mentally barked, unable to take full stock of the situation with Tracey nagging incessantly in his head. Still, he did as he was asked, checking for the familiar ring on his finger, it was there, not a tablet, not gone. And flickering in a way that couldn't be accidental.

Tracey stayed quiet as he'd been ordered to, but it was impossible to ignore the flighty urgency that mingled with his own rising panic. Again he struck out at the elf, this time driving it back with the axe in one hand, while he slunk to Jordan's side, with his free arm hugging him carefully but protectively about the waist, Tracey brandished at the ready for any counter attack from the fog creature.

"I'm here. It's me." he said, worried that he might react badly to the contact but on the battlefield left with few other avenues to getting through to him quickly.

Tracey fretted all the while in his thoughts.

Restrained, trapped, being touched, no no no nO NO NO - Jordan's eyes went wild and panicked as he tried to pull away, Ferros flashing into his hand instantaneously, his other arm coming up in a futile attempt to fend off his attacker -

JORDAN! Ferros roared in his mind, making him flinch helplessly. JORDAN, IT'S REP! STOP!

Jordan's gaze snapped back into focus abruptly, and he froze, reality crashing back in on him all at once. He swallowed hard. The hand he'd raised to shove Rep away curled into the sleeve of his coat instead. He was shaking, his heart pounding like he'd run a marathon, pale and chilled, but he was back.

Sophie heard her name called and the ghoul turned around, eyes squinting to try and find the witch. "Belladonna!" She called, voice pleading and now a little hoarse. She couldn't seem to find the witch and she looked up at Alex. "Should we go find her? And Mort?" Her eyes scanned the field once more and she spotted a flash of red curls and a sliver of pink fabric. That had to be her; who else could it be? Sophie jumped in the air, waving her arm. "Bells! Belladonna!" She waved her arms and called.

Sophie let out a sigh of relief. At least Belladonna was safe and she was sure that if Belladonn was around, Mort wouldn't be too far off. She was certain the ghoul wouldn't be quiet if something had happened to the boil. Looking up at Alex, she gave a soft smile. "We'll all go home together."
