"Don't let up" Raven commanded coldly. The damage had been less than he'd expected. It would seem even encased in a solid block of ice the Lucario's natural resistance to the cold wasn't letting up. They'd just need to keep striking. Even with the resistance they were still doing more damage than they would have otherwise.
Genn needed no second commands, really he didn't even need the first. With a mouth filled with ice even before Raven had given the command to keep going, Genn would lunge forward with another Ice Fang. Oh now this was just cool.

23/2 = 11.5 rounds to 12)
Once more those teeth would cut into her ...as she was forced to silliness in the ice. There was nothing more that she could do ...as Sapphire would grit her teeth in anger. Yet, she would raise her pokeball ...there was no sense in losing a pokemon over this.
Without a thought, the woman would recall her pokemon ...as she grit her teeth in anger.
This was her lost, completely and absolutely as the woman felt like screaming.
Though she rather lose this way, than lose her pokemon in the end.
"I surrender, you win ...you lucky dog."
Sapphire would declare as the crowd went wide. The first battle for Raven was his victory as the announcer made it quite clear that this battle was over, and he was the victor.
"Go and have a good rest, our victor. For the next round, things will get much more interesting with the winners from one block facing off against another."
Raven heaved a mental sigh of relief, resisting the urge to allow his arms to go slack. Instead he retained a straight posture, bending only when he delivered a short bow to both his opponent, and the audience around him. When Sapphire had called him a lucky dog she wasn't too far off. Faced with her Lucario he'd been fighting at a severe disadvantage, but a single second had turned the tides in his favour. Still he'd be certain to make greater use of Fable in the next confrontation, that would certainly keep his foes on their toes...he couldn't grow too reliant on Genn either.
Speaking of which, as the Steelix moved about, basking in the applause and bellowing his victory, Raven would quietly recall the behemoth and return to the waiting room. Genn was indeed strong, but even when the chips were down he needed to be ready to use his other Pokemon. It was chance that had allowed Genn to win. Luck, not Strength, and that was something he could hardly bring himself to admit...
"Let us see what the next battle has in store..." Raven muttered to himself. This was a tournament and there would be more fearsome opponents to follow. He would say he could only hope to be prepared, but the entire point of his presence here was training after all.

Entering back into the backrooms, Raven would find that a Nurse Joy was there and waiting. She had stayed in the backrooms for any and all trainers, as the woman he had beaten would silently walk over to her and place her two pokemon onto the tray.
Nurse Joy would smile lightly as she waited for Raven to do the same. She had to get him ready as soon as possible for the next round, as Sapphire was simply getting ready to leave.
Raven would simply deliver a polite nod, stepping forth and putting a single PokeBall in place. He after all had only one Pokemon on his person which presently needed any healing.

Redilicious
Ada would tip her hat to the clown, "Hello there!" He seemed friendly! "Sorry, but I'm not looking to go to the show right now. Some other time, though!" while it did seem fun she had other priorities. Although, if he was the ticket vendor, maybe he could help? "Hey, I'm guessing you're out here a lot though, right? You wouldn't have happened to have seen a man with short black hair and blue eyes around, have you? er.." She'd raise a hand and make a gesture as she explained the next part "He has a totodile, its pretty easy to tell it's his since it's always kind of drunk" or at least, it sure acted like it! Her description wasn't all too good, but hopefully just enough for the clown to recognize him if he had saw him!
[ 18 / 50 ]
The man would laugh heartily at her question. His hands holding his belly as it shook merrily while one eye watches the crowds until he was sure that he wouldn't be heard as he lean in close to her.
"Listen you, pansy idiot. Look the hell around you, this place have people flooding in from everywhere ..why the ******** would I know one from the other? Now, since, you are so tight a** to pay for the show ...bug off ...there are paying customers I need to really be dealing with."
He told Ada with a look on his face that could make a baby cry as a smaller child came into view, and the peaceful ...funny clown appeared again. He was honking his nose making a playful sound as he walked away from her.
If she wasn't going to pay ...he hadn't nothing more to do with her.

The Nurse would smile lightly ...as she turned and headed deep into the place. She would go to the restoration station as she came back thirty minutes later as the second rounds were being announced. During that time, the final block had battled it out ... a boy with a Aerodactyl had taken down a man with Skuntank with a thrilling upset ....as the pokemon flapped in the air.
"We are not moving onto the second rounds of competitions. Each block will be looking to have one champion ...."
The voice would declare sharply as on the screen the next rounds of competitions would begin ...as it would seem that despite what they said ...the numbers were uneven in a two of the blocks. That meant, that two people would be facing off against different members of other blocks.
It would also seem that judging from the number of contestants ....Raven could look forwards to at least two more battles before he left his block itself. This time, the person who he would be fighting would be a girl in the room he was currently sitting. A quite girl whom seem to be merely a wisp of a girl, but then again, she had made it through the first round as she twirls one hand around a single black strand of hair ...over and over again.
Her greenish blue eyes would lock on him ...as their pictures popped up.
Nurse Joy would stop any sort of words that might have been on her lips as she walks between the two.
"Your pokemon have been healed."
The woman from the last round who had lost would quickly grab hers as she looked at the wisp girl and rolled her eyes.
"Easy win."
She would then snatch her pokeball away as the girl would walk up to Nurse Joy. It would seem that somehow she had stow her pokeballs as well ...as she took two. That probably meant that she had more trouble than Raven had had in the last round as she took hers and clip it on her ears ...as it would seem that she had holders design like earrings. Quite unique, and considering that both pokeballs she had picked up with Luxary balls that matched her hair coloration actually acted as camoflaugue for the items.
It was a smart thing to do for someone that might be a worldly traveler. It was time now as she snap them on and then hurry out to the field.

Raven would merely cluck his tongue, shaking his head at the comment of his previous opponent. Such words were precisely why she had lost the match. 'Weak' was not something defined by mere appearance. If two of her Pokemon had been harmed in her previous fight compared to his one it was merely because her opponent had been more difficult than his own. Of course it was easy to refer to someone as weak after victory, but in truth his last battle had been quite difficult, defence had been the key problem...and all because he had refused to use the right Pokemon for the job.
Retrieving Genn's PokeBall from Nurse Joy, Raven would clip it back on to the second position of his belt, then moving his hand to retrieve the PokeBall in the first position. He'd need to get used to leaving it in the pommel of his blade; it wouldn't be quite as well hidden there as with his next opponent's earrings, but it make it more difficult to rob him of all his Pokemon in a single sweep should such an event occur. In the mean time however Raven would merely grasp the ball tightly in his right hand and head for the door. It didn't matter what he faced, or if Genn proved the better choice, he couldn't rely entirely on the Steelix, and Fable most of all needed to grow stronger at his side.
At that exact a pair of spectral hands would reach out from the back of Raven's belt. There was no telling when or how Diabound had managed to escaped from his ball, but the Yamask had done just that, proceeding to vanish from physical sight and hang his golden mask off the back of the boy's belt, hidden beneath his cloak. With Raven so focused on the Tournament the Ghost-Type was able to move unnoticed, elongating his arms and reaching into a hole in the corner of the wall. Apparently a pair of Fletchling had managed to build a nest within...and when they returned, they'd find it quite empty. A thief of unchanging nature, the Yamask was not beyond egg-napping, and as it happened Raven had grown so accustomed to the weight of eggs in his satchel he never even noticed as the spectral rogue placed the red and grey egg within his bag.
At last the next round would soon be upon them...
((Diabound, for whenever I need a plot device to give Raven an item obtained through small events or normally illogical trades.))
Starter Pokemon: Charmander [M] Name & Level: Fable, Lv 8 [Temperament] Quiet Bio: Raven first met Fable during his time living on the streets, finding the fire-tailed reptile in one of hundreds of alleys he'd been in. Battered, beaten, and bloodied, it was clear the Charmander had seen it's fair share of battles...and lost every single one. He bit Raven only five seconds after their initial encounter. Fable had lost all trust in humanity. Raven was never fully aware of the details, but the Charmander's former trainer had been abusive. He'd placed him in battles with impossible odds, expecting him to combat and defeat opponent after opponent with little to no rest...and when he lost, it was his trainer whom would personally add to the reptiles injuries. Finally tired of wasting his time on "some worthless newt" his trainer had abandoned him in the dirtiest alleyway he could find and just left him there. The boy hadn't even given him a name...at least not one he cared to repeat.
For days after that first encounter Raven returned to the alley, usually meeting with the same result; yet still he kept coming, sometimes he even brought food. It was generally scraps most likely out of the garbage, but it was food none the less. One day the Charmander finally asked why the child kept returning...not with words of course, but with his eyes. The curiosity at the boy's actions were clear in the reptiles gaze. Raven had said he saw a fire in Fables eyes that day when they first met, the desire to become truly powerful. More time passed after that, but the only thing which mattered after that point was the outcome. Even without a Pokeball the Charmander decided to follow the boy from that day forward, even earning the name Fable in the process. Raven would speak of spending the reward money on new clothes and a bath, but what was consistently leave out was the purchase of a single Pokeball. There was no need. Even without it, Fable would follow his trainer to the depths of hell and back. Raven wouldn't be alone on the field for long as the crowd cheered at his appearance ...a roar that was a loud as the ocean crashing against rocks. The entire place seem to erupt with that sound ....as his opponent appeared after him.
It would seem that everyone was excited for the second round as the announcer would call out.
"Welcome to the second round ....first up is the boy that makes the ground tremble and his opponents freeze, RAVEN.
Second is the girl that is uses sugars and spices, and everything that not nice to make her opponents regret that they cross her ... MIMI."
The dark hair girl would stop twirling her hair then as she walks towards her side of the field. A smile was on her face that seemed almost static as she took out one pokeball from her earring and held it lightly in hands as she enlarged it.
She was ready to go as well as she waited for her opponent to do the same.

Ashen locks would tousle slightly as raven shook his head at the antics of the announcer. Such an unnecessarily dramatic affair, but then again he supposed that was the nature of these things. The man's words weren't meant for him or his opponent even if they were about him; it was all for the crowd. Still, whom he intended to call upon next would hardly make the ground tremble; and rather then freeze, he was likely to set this stage aflame!
Enlarging the ball in his hand, Raven would look at it for a moment before winding up and throwing it toward the centre of the battlefield "Prepare yourself....Fable!" The red and white sphere spun slightly as it moved through the air, bursting midway to the ground with a flash of blinding light. The PokeBall would return to Raven's hand in the same instant as a pair of red scaly feet connected with the ground, and fire licked the air.
Dark blue eyes scanned the area, taking in the roaring crowd, the pavement of the arena, and most importantly the girl which stood across from them. Tail flicking lightly the Charmander would look over his shoulder, nodding his understanding before refocusing on their foe. Reptile made note a sound, but for an instant his tail flame would flicker as a chill ran along his spine. It wasn't fear...but anticipation.

The girl would ask. Her voice was a whisper as she release her pokemon onto the field. The bug would let wisps of flames escape him as he settles upon the ground and presses his head into the earth a bit. He was making it clear, he was more than ready to take this to the next round.
He was more than ready to fight ...as he looked at Fable.
(You look tasty)
He would almost purr the words. He love heat and fire as much as possible, and considering the girl had saw some of Raven's match. She had been expecting to face a steel type instead of the fire that stood before him.
"This battle will be fun."
She declares with a smirk as she waits only long enough for the referee to drop the flags before she sent her pokemon chasing after her opponent. A swift speed that would take anyone off by surprise as the bug pokemon charged his opponent literally with his head down as a slight glow would coem from there.
(Just a reminder, you registered two pokemon at the beginning of this and really can only use those two pokemon)

((I never forgot that for an instant.))
Fable's tail flicked slightly at the presence of another Fire-Type. Generally not his strong suit; but this insect was a bit of a different case than the usual. Tail swaying behind him Fable would spare the Larvesta no words, he would simply wait for Raven's command as he always did.
Raven's actions would be much the same as his Pokemon. He wouldn't bother responding to his opponent, there was no need. Trash talk was a waste of time. "Fable, Ember" The command came swift and clear, the boy waving his arm in a dramatic gesture he wasn't even entirely conscious of. Speed was against them, but their opponent's defenese was weak...at least for the moment.
That command would act as the trigger, Fable's tail swaying slowly to one side...before the flame at the end erupted dramatically, swelling to a size greater than the Charmander's whole body. Blue eyed turned a bright and blood red as the Fire-Type loosed a feral reptilian hiss. Air passed through the Charmander's nostrils as he inhaled sharply, flames already beginning to lick the edges of his mouth as he tilted his head back for a moment. An instant later Fable would exhale, releasing a smouldering blast of flame towards the opposing Larvesta.

The first attack ..the first exchanges of blows would send the pokemon flying backwards in pain. It would hit the ground hard as the ember would send a flick of flames over his body as he rolled on his back on the ground.
The girl was shocked.
"Strong flame."
She would speak the words as a whisper as the Lavesta would managed to put the flames out, but it would leave a reddish strip on his body that burn and seemed to boil wiht each passing second.
This was going to be a hard battle for them at this point as the pokemon would instinctually hunker down in defense.
The girl was giving no commands as of yet.

((As much as I wish it were possible in this case, Fire-Type's cannot be burned.))
[CRITICAL! +1 to Offense Rolls]
"We've got a long way to go" Raven stated calmly, counting both himself and Fable in that remark. Their strength was shared, when one grew more powerful so did the other, Still that had been a good start to this battle, now they could only hope to make that a trend. "Fable! Once more, Ember!" Raven ordered, again directing with his arm pointed at the Larvesta. It was a shame that Fire-Type's were immune to burn, or this round of the battle would already be theirs.
Fable's chest heaved as he stood there, steam streaming from his mouth with every breath. Red eyes remained locked on their opponent, never faltering even as fire once more began to lick the sides of the reptile's maw. Another low hiss would exude mixed with the crackle of flame. Inhaling through his nostrils once more the Charmander would let the fire in the back of his throat build, before releasing it in another smouldering blast. If they were lucky this would be nearly as successful as the first!

The attack was almost ended with that attack. One more hit, that was all that would be needed, but the girl wasn't as quick to back down as the other one had been. Even with her pokemon's life on the line, she would point one finger.
"Once more, use Zen Headbutt."
The Lavesta was badly harmed ..the pain of the attacks made his legs wobble, and his head was touching the ground. Yet, he would raise it at the sound of her voice, his eyes would lock on his opponent even as he charges forwards with Zen Headbutt once more.
(Oh and I hate to tell you this one, but counter-attacks can't gain criticals.)
