She thought she had been terrible. Freya didn't know how to lead very well, and she thought she'd been dragging Eris around - but as it turned out, she felt kind of confident with her partner. She felt like the woman wasn't fighting against her lead, and even though Freya stumbled, Eris had the grace to make her stumbles look like legitimate dance moves. They swept the floor together, looking the part even if they weren't being technical savvy dancers.
"That was actually not terribles.." Freya whispered in awe. "Let's goes again!" She twirled the horsewoman around and then pulled her back into her arms, laughing childishly as she swept Eris around again.

Eris smiled in amusement at Freya's little whisper, utterly charmed by the sweetness and spunk of the ghoul. Laughing at the blonde's antics, she spun back into her arms, the two spinning back onto the floor. Although they had done not all that great the first time, Freya was doing remarkable this second time -- her learning curve was amazing, and the Protector found herself feeling exceptionally impressed. So much so that she was far less elegant this second time, as in awe of her as she was.
Still, the sight was undoubtedly beautiful, their mirrored reflections spinning across the floor.

Eris may not have thought she did well, but Freya thought the horsiewoman was fantastic! She was learning how to dance just from leading the woman, which made no real sense, but it was happening regardless. With each step, Freya was stumbling less and less, until she finally turned Eris' hand around and started to really lead the way. Sure, it wasn't so much a waltz anymore as much as it was a lively dance resembling something folkish, but as it became more jovial, Freya became more at ease with the movement.
"Dancings is funs, we should does it more oftens!"

Indeed, Freya was doing remarkable, the forcefulness the perfect balance of gentle and demanding. It was incredibly sexy, and Eris couldn't help but give the ghoul a little wink, purring as they spun again, dancing as if no one else were around.

Alright, thirty minutes? This dancing game shouldn't take them but ten.
Yup, Mort took his bro from one dancing booth to another.
The same sort of swinging music was playing as they arrived, and Mort took the time to stretch his arms as he led them to a spot. "Mrrr. Something up with Mei?" he prompted, since it was, well, hard to not see and feel the frustration coming from the ghoul - and it didn't quite feel like the same frustration as just dealing with a mopey zomboil. "Both've you were kinda flat faced during DDD.".

Alex could hear the music as they approached, and it was hard not to let a smile form on his lips as memories of the last time he'd been to this booth flooded his mind. He still needed to try and find that boil sometime and apologize again for the awful dancing experience, and possibly find out his name as well. He'd seemed like such a nice guy.
"So this was your insidious plot. Placate me with Croak, lure me away from my booth, only to herd me towards a swing dance competition. Mort, I had no idea you wanted to get your hands on me so badly." Of course, he was joking, if his tone of voice wasn't indication enough.
He followed Mort out to the dance floor, eyeing the other dancers, tapping his his skeletal toes to the beat of the music as he waited for Mort to be ready to start. His question caught the zomboil somewhat off guard, so it took him a moment to reply.
"I....I think she's just getting frustrated with me. She's been trying really hard to keep my spirits up, and while I appreciate the effort, sometimes it's just not enough." He shrugged, not thinking for a second that it could possibly be anything more then that.

"Yup," Mort said with a conspiring smile, following the joke. "Don't tell ghoulfriend though. Trying get s'much practice in as possible. Er, the dancing. Not hands part." He got that down pat, thanks; though at least Alex seemed to lighten a bit as they had entered the booth. Why Mort had decided to bring him there was a bit of a mystery even to him - just a gut instinct to drag his bro out of the doldrums lent to his feet, bringing them to the last booth he had been to that had brought some good out of it. The dancing had seemed to work for Belladonna at least for a little, so he knew there was some sort of healing power going on when banter met music and dance; he was hoping something similar might happen for Alex.
Having so little knowledge of dance beyond his own cruddy flailing, Mort stuck to what the witch had taught him about the waltz and set them going, feeling a bit weird that he was doing this with someone other than her - but hey, mom wanted him to get loose? Here was him cutting loose. "Saw she was trying, yeah," he said with a nod, spinning Alex twice (or attempting to). "N' was nice gesture as friend. But . . . at same time, think only you can pull self out've th-this. Not her, not me, not other friends, not Yin."
He purposefully used the mantodae's name, because sooner or later a wound had to heal - even if for the undead it was slower.
"M'gonna talk to her after this too. Well, er, i-if she wants to talk." Sometimes Mort wondered if, for all his efforts, the ghoul only saw him as just a friend of Alex's instead of another zombie who cared and tried to look out for her and Leo.

"Why would I tell her?" Alex waggled his eyebrows a little. "It's so much more exciting when it's just our little secret." He allowed Mort to grab ahold of him and get them set off with what appeared to be a waltz, only Alex was struggling a little since he'd never actually followed before.
"Hey! Who made you the man of this relationship?" He asked with a frown, tripping over his feet as they moved less then gracefully around the dance floor. The spins took him completely off guard, and he let go of Mort to flail around a bit, trying to listen and not make a fool of himself at the same time.
"...not Yin"
Actually, Yin probably could have easily made things better for Alex, and his chest tightened at the thought. "Uh, ya. Right." He smiled one of those clearly unhappy but trying to look happy smiles, but then frowned.
"Why do you think you need to talk to her about it? She's only doing what she thinks she aught to, to cheer up a friend. Hey did you see this neat bracelet she made for me?" Look out, Mort. Alex's gay more feminine side is showing. He held out his wrist so that Mort could see the bracelet made up mostly of black beads, with five colored beads set at equal distances apart.

Mort just laughed in response as their dancing fell apart, not in it for the prizes so much as to just do something fun that didn't involve being watched by his mother. Although he probably should choose his words better since Alex's expression was souring again.
Ah well.
"M'the man 'cuz m'taking charge," he answered, even if said "charge" was a lot less graceful this go around. Mort kept having to check their feet so that they wouldn't trip each other up. "Right or wrong. S'what'll be needed for council if get on it. Really though, just want chance to talk to her. Haven't really since, well, er . . . minipet meeting." Which had its share of awkward.
Mort blinked at the bracelet. "Huh. Nice." He wasn't sure what else he could say about it really.

Alex was not impressed with how Mort was taking charge, so at some point in their little turn around the dance floor he attempted to take control, which of course led to more dancetastrophe since Mort had no idea the change in leadership was coming.
Alexander laughed as their feet tangled, and his death grip tightened on Mort to try and keep himself steady. "Okay, sorry about that. I'll be a good little submissive and let you 'take charge'." He grinned again, the swing music much too upbeat and cheerful for Alexander to keep feeling melancholy.
"Oh, okay then." He shrugged, trying to get back on track. "The blue bead is you, by the way." Really he sounded much too excited about having a bracelet. Where was his manryness?
