Mjoll decided to slip away before the bird got out again. The game of musical cages wasn't her favorite game.

Finally able to break away from her booth for a few minutes to play at a number of booths, Belladonna decided it was time to finally get down to actually talking to some of the candidates. Thus far she'd only spoken to a lovely ghoul about public relations, but there was two people competing vice president and the witch found it prudent to give them each a visit, as well as a nice chat.
Except when she was about to approach Sparrow, a very blue little bird fluttered past her. With a smile she beckoned to it, but also noticed a few empty bird cages.
"Aaah, a runaway, hm?"
Yet as she made a step toward the little thing, it hopped right out of reach.
Oh, no you just did not.

With a stern look the witch placed her hands on her hips and glowered down at the bird.
"I am going to ask you nicely, only once. Will you come here and be good or shall I have to resort to..." She dropped her face so that her bangs cast a shadow over her eyes and let her voice lower to something slightly terrifying. "Drastic measures?"
Apparently not as Belladonna straightened up and held out a hand, the little bird quietly hopped into her palm. With a smile she gave it a good little pet on its head before she turned to the cages.
"Now which of these is your home?"

The little bird chirped to the witch once and she, not being familiar with bird in any capacity (she owned cats! How was she supposed to know?!), headed for cage number one. As she reached out to put the little bluejay inside, he instead hopped up onto the bend of her elbow, so that Belladonna stood there, hands outstretched into an empty cage.
She frowned at the bird for a moment.
"One chirp does not equal number one, I am to assume?"

With an expectant look, Belladonna cupped the bird in the palms of her hands and brought him closer to her face so she could better speak to him. For a moment she gave him a fierce look that skirted just past being a stare before she tilted her head to one side, much in the fashion birds take.
"If that cage is not your home, then which is?"
For a moment the churrpup only sat there and looked at her, its head mimicking the same move she was doing. After a tense moment of their mini staring match he finally let out a little trill.
Belladonna didn't know at all what that meant, so she offered him the third cage.
Chipper did not want.

"But you gave a little note thingy! You--!" Here Belladonna tried to imitate the three note little sound Chipper had just made. But for her it only sounded like she was unsuccessfully trying to start up a song. Glad of this, the little bird repeated her notes in the same three note trill, which only confused Belladonna further.
"If this one is your home, go in it!" She scolded him, but the little thing only hopped back onto her shoulder.
At least he wasn't trying to get away?

Well, ok. Fine. He didn't want that cage?! FINE.
Belladonna stomped with the churrpup on her shoulder back to the first cage and pointed into it imperiously, her voice sharp as she instructed.
"Go into your cage!" She ordered the bird, who only let out a tiny coo and burrowed into her hair.

"Oh no you don't!" The witch called out to the bird as she reached for him, only to barely miss him as he dove into her locks. "No, no, nooo! You'll get it all tangled and take some for a nest and noooo!!!!" She cried, turning in a small circle as she tried to grasp for him, but much like a dog chasing its own tail, he was too far behind her.
Finally, finally the witch seemed close enough to grab him, but he fluttered from her grasp. When she whirled around, suddenly afraid she'd have to chase him all over again, she was instead vastly surprised to find him sitting in a cage.
"Well why didn't you say 'two' when this whole thing started?!" She asked him with a heavy sigh.
Still, she gave herself an inner pat on the back for completing the job.

Ah! Finally! With that job done, the witch instead turned her attention to the boil she had come to speak with in the first place. Careful not to interrupt him, she waited for a bit before she jumped into the conversation, waving a hand brightly at him. "Hello! Belladonna Divine, lovely to meet you. I think I've seen you in the Reaper dorms before? Perhaps?" She smiled sweetly and hoped he hadn't seen her inability to communicate with one of his birds. "Though, I absolutely adore your outfit. Those shoes are to die for!" There, a bit of flattery should certainly smooth out the fact that she had totally been unable to keep one little bird in check.

On her way to a booth she hadn't been to yet, Gene passed Sparrow's booth. She intended to give him a little wave, but instead got a face full of feathers.
Then she saw the open cage.
Her mind made the jump, and she took chase to the escaped mini.

She stumbled at first, tripping over the heel on her boots. Wow Gene, way to embarrass yourself, lamewad. Oh, double embarrassment, you can float to chase a flying mini, genius.
So she took to hovering, and eventually caught the bird, clutching it to her chest much like she had to the Pom from the snowy booth. Now just to put it back in its cage...

So far, so good, Sparrow thought, as Eris smiled at him. She didn't look like she was about to attack him or anything.
Not that Aisa had given him any warning before destroying his weapon, but that was beside the point.
Besides, it wouldn't do him any good or get him any votes if he acted constantly on the defensive and judged unnecessarily. Chipper was looking somewhat suspicious, still leaning away from the horsewoman, but he at least didn't make a move to fly away just yet.
"Sparrow Heartreed, my lady," answered Sparrow, dipping into a low bow, with one hand pressed to his stomach. He straightened again and let his easy smile rest on her, linking his fingers behind his back. "What brings you here today, might I ask?"
A little witch in vibrantly pink and black shoes had stepped up, and Sparrow gave her a slightly smaller bow than the one he had given Eris, but the smile was genuinely cheerful.
"Ah, Belladonna, a pleasure," he said to her. "And yes, I do believe I've seen you in passing! It is lovely to make your acquaintance - and thank you," he added, eyes twinkling. "I appreciate your compliments."LP Congrats! Upon closer inspection, Gene realized she was holding an Exotic Phoenix Hatchling; a pretty freaking rare mini. Better not clutch it so hard Gene. C'mon now.
Before Gene could even attempt to put the mini gingerly back in its cage, it tried to escape again. She grabbed it by the tail feathers, eyes livid.

Yet again, the cocky bird attempted to flee. She clutched it tighter, staring into its beady eyes.
This bird was going in his cage. She would make sure of it.
