Jude's eyes widened, and like magnetic force he leaned ever so slightly over Volcarona's side.
"Shiny," he observed. And not just that... "Lower, Volkie! I gotta tell the others about this!"
He pressed the Volcarona into a descent toward Sol, Blizz and the rest, giving Shaan a wide berth. He needed enough room for the Pokemon to perform evasive maneuvers. But, apparently, Shaan didn't think he was a threat. He was perfectly fine with that. Totally harmless. "Heeeeey!" he called, waving his arms. "Did you see that? And he did it again!"

"...Excuse me?" Sol commented flatly. "At last check, the lady is on my Charizard. And I think what is transpiring here is a small glimpse of poetic justice." Unfortunately, with his attention divided between Dill and Keefe's presence, he didn't really notice Jude or Nusku.
As for Amaranth, Keefe's comment was enough to make her actually express a look of disgust. Something about the tone and all just made it sound offensive. "Why does hearing that make me want to punch him into a wall?" She asked, only for her attention to be diverted to the sudden shine. Xipil, though, kept his sights on the other two.
With yet another attempt, Ceramew finally found herself able to move again, able to resume floating. Instead of trying to approach Shaan again, though, she kept welling up chi. Most of it similar to the meteorite shards.

Dan motioned for Talon to head inside after releasing Blizz. As the bird headed for the opening, it suddenly closed, almost taking the bird's head off. "Whoa! Damn, we were too late!" he huffed. He proceeded to have Talon take him and Freya up on top of the barrier so he could get off. Setting Freya down, he proceed to return Talon for a much needed rest. "Ok...Try breaking another hole in this thing. I'll try to take care of that guy" he told her as Rain suddenly rejoined him. Dan proceeded to return him as well and sent out Diva to fight. "Use Psychic and hold him down!" he instructed, pointing at Shaan.

I tossed out Typhlosion and then looked over towards Jude. The sheen coming off of that Steel channeler. Its metal. Something that I figured considering how ineffective my punch was against the likes of him. Was there something in mind? Because I was all good to go with whatever.

Sol seemed preoccupied, but Blizz seemed open enough. He guided Volcarona into an orbit around Blizzard, but never stopped waving. "Blizzy!" he said. "That shine! That's definitely metal. But didn't you see it, when you hit him? It was like he was stuck in time, for just a tiny bit! Even when I dropped my rocks on him!"

Trigram Attack Jude shook his head enthusiastically. "Nope!" "............" Really? Just really? I then gave a sigh...but then, something got to me. Maybe... "Sol! We need fire. Lots of it!" I said to him. "Typhlosion, you're going to help, too." I said. "Siooon?" Me? Ask for Fire? What's this madness?

Freya nodded, hopping off Talon and onto the barrier that was surprisingly solid beneath her feet. She crouched down, lightly knocking on it then stomping on it a little to determine just how solid it was. Hmm. Taking two PokeBalls, the brunette released Purrloin and Buizel. "Alright you guys, let's alternate turns and punch a hole through this barrier again." Crouching down, she called to Pignite and Pikachu, both seemed to be able to hear her though the only way to be sure was to call out an attack. "Pignite, aim a Fire Blast at that metal guy! Pikachu, a little help up here with trying to break this thing down! Electro Ball!" Well, it looked like it was working at least.

"You didn't have to come with me," Chaos said as he retrieved his now-fully-healed Pokemon.
"Didn't," I said.
"Yeah, right," Chaos scoffed. "You comin' or what?"
No response from me. Keiko decided to stay with me for a bit.
"Whatever," Chaos growled. He took out his SNAG, asked specific details of where everyone was at, and after being told that Claydol couldn't send him inside the barrier, Chaos decided to be Teleported on top of the barrier, in Flamethrower range of "that steel-usin' guy".
Keiko looked to me when he vanished. "What's wrong?"
It took me a minute to sit up and speak. "...did you know that Krystal is sick? With Pneumonia?"
Keiko's response was that of shock. "Your girlfriend...? No, I didn't."
"Yeah. It didn't take long after I left for this mission for her to come after me. At first, I was mad that she wouldn't listen to me when I asked her to leave, due to her illness, but after Odd forced her back to HQ, I realized she was just as worried about me. I'm starting to think coming here at all was a mistake." I explained.
"It might have been nice if you took care of her instead..." Keiko speculated.
"Exactly. That's what I should have been doing this whole time. But now, this has got me thinking." I admitted.
"About what?" Keiko asked.
"I'm not sure, yet." I told her. "That's the problem."
My next question took both of us by surprise. "...how are you and Al?"
Keiko understandably blushed. "W-what?"
"I'm sorry. This isn't any of my business. I'm still trying to figure out what it is about a guy ten years older than you that you like." I told her.
Keiko sighed, and took a minute to process her thoughts. "It... it's not as simple as all that. There's no one thing that binds us. We're just.... um... kindred spirits. We have a lot in common. Likes, dislikes, fears... ...can I ask you something?"
This took me by surprise a bit. "Sure," I told her.
"Is age really that big a deal? I've been asking myself that since he and I met." she confessed.
My brain tried to process this. What I realized is that I was judging them too harshly, without a tangible reason. Was it the result of an off-key moral compass? Not likely, my compass hasn't steered me wrong before.
No real answer came, however. "...to be honest, I'm not sure myself," I told her. "You're not underaged... hell, you're older than I am for that matter, so your life is really your own. I guess it should only matter to the two of you, if at all." I said finally.
It was Keiko's turn to think in silence. It didn't take her as long. "...I think so, too."
With that, I patted her on the back and stood up. "Then be with him," I said to her before calling for a Claydolport back to HQ.
"Where are you going?" Keiko asked.
"I have my own kindred spirit to tend to," I said with a smile before Claydol's Teleport whisked me away.
With a smile, Keiko asked for a Claydolport to Al's side.

"Hey, ~/~," Shaan would hear, the source of the voice very close by. "Steeltypeonfiresayswhat?"
The first word out of Shaan's mouth, regardless of what it was, would trigger a triple Flamethrower to the head, courtesy of the three Fire-types standing beside the source of the voice.

Al had divebombed into the shield when it first opened, but Odd and Lykas were distracted by Blizz being thrown around like a ragdoll and were locked out.
"I'll help Blizz." Lykas told Odd, who nodded in response. Getting on top of that shield was a bit daunting but thanks to Cascade's Bounce, they managed to get up top. Recalling the manta Pokemon, Lykas approached Blizzard just as Jude was explaining what he saw. "I saw that too." He told the man. "It looks like he's literally turning himself to metal for a split second but he can't move when he does it....."
It was when Blizz mentioned needing fire that something came to him. "Metal melts when it gets hot enough.....You think he'll lose power if we heat him up?" This wasn't likely to be Blizzard's plan, exactly but he was willing to help any way he could. "I can provide fire." He offered as he released Lux. The Quilava was still tired from the ordeal with Greesix but he could manage to produce fire if he had some cover. Or wasn't being attacked. That would be ideal, of course, so no one expected that, did they?
Odd, on the other hand, called upon Cadenza as he watched Lykas go off with the others. Shall we crash the party
Sounds like fun. I hope they have cake.
Of course they will. They're being such -lovely- hosts, after all.
With a shared laugh between them, Odd signaled Treble to release him, recalling the Drifblim as Cadenza caught him with Telekinesis. The two hovering in the air for a moment, they shared a knowing look before they divebombed the shield. Energy those walls may have been, but if they had the consistency and quality of something solid, they should be able to phase right through, Odd figured. If it worked, the duo would remain off to the side, near where they saw Suib hanging back. They weren't powerful but they might be able to pull of some kind of stealth maneuver with the other channeler if they found a decent opening.

"A Psychic attack? Did you know, one with a strong enough will, a Steel will, can break through any mental attack?" Shaan declared as the Psychic attack threatened to bind him, the man giving a stern glare as he suddenly broke free from the attack, jumping out of the way of the triple Flamethrower, and sending a circular wall of solid steel energy straight down at his attackers.
"Heeey baby, don't be like that, I'm just a Pachirisu trying to get a nut." He said with a laugh, Dill shaking his head in disgust. "Poetic justice you say? Hm, perhaps, but it is we who are the main characters of this epic poem, the heroes of the story, you are the antagonist and must by defeated before the story can end. Now then shall we bring this tale to an end? Keefe, if you would." He said to the channeler. "Yeah, yeah, let's roll bro!" He laughed as he pointed at Sol, suddenly disappearing in a flash, reappearing behind him, attempting to deliver a kicking to the head.

"I don't like him..." Amaranth spoke up, taking out a ball to let her Metapod back out.
Sol, much as he was usually on the ball, could only do so much. Even he couldn't tell the attack was coming fast enough, taking the harsh kick and flying a little ways back. It wasn't enough to knock him out, but it took a few seconds for him to get his bearings back. He got back up when he did, gathering a bit more chi. "Let's roll? Here, have a nut." He said before finally unleashing a Solarbeam, trying to strike Keefe back.
Ceramew barely managed to get away from the wall, glaring at Shaan as several meteors formed. "Are you quite done?" She asked, her voice almost a hiss. Something still wasn't right with her.

Jude pulled Volcarona into an ascent, but by this point the pads on his hands burned with heat and spores. He decided Volcarona were not for riding over long periods of time, but he would rather cry over raw hands than be raw meat. "That won't-"
He immediately forgot what he was about to say when there was an energy spike so potent, even he felt it. He found Ceramew suspended in the air with a bevy of huge fireballs he suspected weren't purely fire. "Shiny," he quietly observed, but he was not about to find out how shiny they were.
"Uh...Sol?" he yelled, his eyes darting for either of the Ho-oh. "Amaranth? Is this something you should be worried about?"

Dan rolled his eyes at Shaan's statement, clearly not amused by his "steel" will. "First of all, it's iron will. If your going to make a pun, do it right!" he shouted. Too bad Hawk wasn't here, he'd make a good pun right about now. At Chaos returned with some much needed reinforcements. As the steel channeler's attack was headed towards him and Diva, the psychic used her power to move herself and her trainer backwards and out of harms way. The attack would probably continue and hit the barrier but Dan had a feeling he was hoping for too much on that. "Use Calm Mind" the trainer instructed his Gardevoir, hoping to increase her strength for future attacks.
