She at last was able to put the kugujutsu book away, every other puppet technique lingering on her mind has to wait till a later date. Sadayo releases Hisomu from her threads by the column and steps back to the bookshelves. She eyes a book with spine proving it was a well-loved text, its short length of text reveals it covers more water ninjutusu. Sadayo pulls the book off the shelf and begins flipping page after page: Hidden Mist Technique and Mist Vision Technique.

Like the others before, Sadayo read over the two techniques and began practicing the hand seals needed. She had placed the book by Hisomu and followed the wall to a space a bit more secluded from the others training, while still, following the hand sign pattern. The technique was designed to create a heavy mist, fog, anything cloud-like to take over the area. She didn't want to disrupt anyone else's work with a sudden overcast. [1/3]

This technique doesn't allow vision into the foggy mass, that was the second technique. Being far enough away from the others training, Sadayo applies her chakra and focuses on the creation of small patch of fog. The air in front of her starts to slowly get hazy. [2/3]

Whether or not this artificial weather phenomenon would be obstructed or brushed away by anything is unsure. She's never heard to a real fog being blown away so suddenly by the wind, but, who knows? Sadayo is an inexperienced genin when it's all said and done. But, despite her inexperienced, it seems she's managed to muster her own mess of mist. Well done.
[3/3] Learned: Suiton: Kirigakure no Jutsu (Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique) Rank D

The remainder of her suiton training could fall into works now. She held a single seal and applied her chakra for the next item. The Mist Vision technique. Without the second, well, her efforts would be fruitless. [1/3]

Sadayo could feel something changing in the air. The fog seemed to lighten up at she had cast the jutsu. This is new, she thought, blinking a few times. The ability must be working right. [2/3]

The mass of fog around her could be penetrated with by her vision now. She didn't have special eyes, so, this undoubtedly made Sadayo feel a tad special about herself. Sadayo repels the effects of both techniques with a swift set of seals. Accomplishments accomplishments.
[3/3]Learned : Mist Vision Technique. Rank D

Sadayo replaces the book on water ninjutsu with a scroll on lightning ninjutsu.
The next item was rather basic in the least: Electricity resistance training. She read over the details of the new ability, concluding that it was do her more benefit than harm after all was said and done.

Being of proper nature, Sadayo thought that harnessing the lightning on her hand should be easy. She would wait until flickering flecks of lightning ran along her hands, a process that quickly became uncomfortable. However, experiencing pain was all a part of the game; accordingly, Sadayo moves her hands to slowly take hold of each arm. She shudders from the trickling pain racing up her arms. Her breathing gradually receedes from a faint hiss between teeth to a pattern more familiar to her ears. Any remaining stinging pain starts feeling more numb to her by the moment.
[Learned: Teikou no Kuntou (Electricity Resistance Training: Rank E ]

She shook her hands out and begins work on the next ability. The Static Strings Technique remindes her of the ever-so familiar chakra threads, but with a different purpose. Despite being a lightning based ability, its information reads similiarlly to the chakra threads, to her at least. Testing her skills, Sadayo performs the static strings ability. "Hmm. Interesting." She had the grasp on the skill and quickly dismissed it.
[Learned: Seiteki Suji no Jutsu (Static Strings Technique. Rank E]

Sadayo carefully re-rolls the scroll and squeezes it back into place on the shelf.

Sadayo dismisses the stiff glowering puppet in a poff of smoke. The tiny cloud disperses quickly. Now officially without the burdening weight of any puppets, she took a breath. Her eyes would carefully follow along the rows of stretching shelves and hault on a sliver of a sign reading: genjutsu. Her sights stuck to a scroll jutting from the shelve. Nestled under a few others like it, the scroll's location wasn't enough to persuade her otherwise. Sadayo approches she shelf, located a ways away from the column she's been working by, and slides the scroll from the shelf. She opens the scroll.

Taste of Locusts. She would grin slyly as she read over the texts, thinking of the grim experience her opponent would endure with bugs cramming themselves down their esophagus. Real bugs or illusionary, Sadayo imagines, no matter how the dice are thrown the sensation would be horrible. The handseal the ability requires was quick, perfect for an underhanded act of confusion. [1/4]

Just as with the others, Sadayo rolls the scroll close and places it on top the stack. First learn it, then work in the execution modification, she told herself. Its information describes how the user imagines their opponent's mouth is suddenly filled with a bustling swarm of live locusts. This, she ponders, would make one suspcious of genjutsu. Perhaps there was another way to execute this illusion? [2/4]

Learning the basics of the illusion was prime to making any modifcation. Sadayo begins to practice the handsign, her signing speed growing swifter following with each attempt. Enacting the illusion would have be done quickly and likely in the presense of her strings. The chakra threads shouldn't get in the way, as long as Sadayo places enough focus in the illusion, that is . [3/4]

Regretfully, Sadayo had not chosen to locate a volunteer to test her illusion on. Still, she felt her knowledge and performance was sound enough to support her in an actual spar. Now to make it believeable. Sadayo would observe herself in hopes for any inspiration. Ultimately, she would begin to tug and flail her cropped windbreaker to assemble some thought; together with waving her arms, she stood sharply studying the flagging of the open spread of her jacket. There! The voice in her head suddenly rang out, appropriately gasping rather loudly. The coat was her solution. [4/4]

Another technique crosses her thoughts. There, out of the corner of her eye, she eyes a spot near stood earlier. Sadayo side-steps back in front of a section concerning element training. Her fingers trickle over several bound collections of jutsu before picking another scroll on lightning element and rolls it open in her arms.

The Lightning Beam Technique was all there, written out on a thin roll of paper and cradled in her hands like a revered text. Routinely, Sadayo studies over the workings of the technique. She makes note of the hand-seals, wraps up the scroll, returns it to the shelf, and begins to practice. [1/4]

This technique is designed to not only inflict a notable amount of pain but to also stun after the user is finished. Sounds useful, she thought, incredibly useful if I can soak everyone first. Managing a miss, the technique can still reach out some to shock someone. Perhaps the odds would be in her favor? [2/4]

Sadayo would return to an unoccupied training dummy, as it happens, the same one she borrowed before was still left untouched. She bit her lip and greeted the hardened form with an eager smirk. Again, Sadayo replicates the required seals, applies chakra, and raises her hand to take aim. A bright stream took root from her palm and launches itself toward the dummy. [3/4]

The stream was weak, meager, like she expected for a first try. The beam was far from the perfect width of 16 feet. Still, for a teenage girl to have all that power in her hands was a rather spooky thought. Sadayo pauses, staring cautiously at her hand. She had just watched a boy get scolded by the Kazekage for carelessly pulverizing the structure with his own lightning, the last thing Sadayo would want is to share his standings. [4/4]

No matter, this ability can be cut short once it gets going. So, a brief experiment shouldn't hurt. Sadayo performs the hand-seals and takes aim. Be quick! A larger beam fires at the dummy. The beam's light was harsh to look by in the setting of the academy, consequently, she brought the technique to a halt. Her result didn't match the described width of the beam, but she felt she possessed a solid grasp on it. [5/4]

For the time being, Sadayo decides to conclude her training. She finally feels finished in the Academy. Yet, odds are, she thought as her fingers tapped her thumb to hold count, I'll find myself back floating around here later. Sadayo quietly tallies the total of her work, nods to herself, and surveyed the rest of the room.
Activity seems still; of course, this is coming from a lone genin who still hasn't managed to make a new friend. At this point, Sadayo was without a team and eagerly awaits word for any changes. In the meantime, maybe try to fill in her time with some assignments? Missions were a valid option, in fact, she could still hear the buzzing of the conversation with Lady Kazekage earlier today.

Sadayo figures her best choice was to explore the rest of the underground academy, to fuel her curiosity and check for notices posted about potential work. She followed the walls, taking note of the many sections of literature designated by carefully written signs around the open room.
Most sections of books, Sadayo really had no business poking her head into. Unless she was truly, truly bored out of her mind and not wanting to stare at the polished floor all day, then why not take a look at some of the other books? Really though, she knew that would be an utter waste, unless she wants the bragging rights of being overloaded with information.

A little ways further into the academy, Sadayo notices a cork board positioned against the wall, highlighted in the light of an hollow hallway. Approaching the board, its thumb-tacked contents became clear to her: minor assignments for eager (or broke) ninja to fulfill.
Sadayo would skim over the board and notices how in its current state, each list seems very orderly, as if some chunin somewhere, dutifully organized each notice for work.
Her attention was drawn to a C rank, her finger pelts the words and carefully leads her sights along the mission details. Easy. "Easy for a C rank," she said to herself. "I'll do it."

Li inhaled deeply through his nose and exhaled audibly as he ran his fingers through his bangs. He missed that Old Man. Studying had become monotonous in his absence. The genin looked over the scattered scrolls and notes splayed out before him and leaned back with pensive indecisiveness. It lasted a few moments before his plan of action became clear. Packing up his things, he left the study area and headed over to the medical lab where he could practice the techniques he had been learning in the academy.

After checking in, Li was handed a small brown rabbit. He looked up at the assistant who said “Ten minutes” and went back to whatever she was working on. Ten minutes until what? Li moved to a workbench and sat the rabbit down. The first thing to do with a patient was identify the problem. Something that was always a bit harder when they couldn’t talk. He steadily ran his hands over the rabbit’s body, probing around for any anomalies. He focused on the meridian lines, seeing if he could detect what was out of the norm. After several minutes had gone by, he began to see all the signs laid before him. An elevated heart rate. A slight protrusion in its side. It looked like it was time to get to work. [1/1]

Li closed his eyes and concentrated on the chakra within him. Rooting himself he pulled it from his core and let it manifest into his chest and arms. His lungs tingled as the chakra filtered his breathing, eradicating bacteria that could cause infection. It made working without a mask safe, which was really appreciated out in the field. His hands became free of any traces of dirt and grime which cleared the way for him to operate. [1/1]

Picking up a scalpel, he took a second to be thankful the rabbit was sedated. He’d have to learn how to do that on his own later because he wasn’t too thrilled with the idea of working on a patient who could feel everything. Li made an incision near the protrusion and then set the scalpel down. He placed his hands on either side of the incision and focused his chakra into parting the tissue ever so slightly. A bead of sweat formed on his forehead as he concentrated. Thirty seconds. A minute went by and a small metallic object was pushed out of the wound. Oh. Ten minutes until whatever this was went off. Li sighed as he released the technique and put the object on the tray next to him. [1/1]

Noticing the rabbit was bleeding more than usual, Li shot a glance at the instructor who looked back with an amused expression in her eye. She held up a hand, silently indicating five minutes. Looking down, he noticed the rabbit was bleeding more than it should be. Li wondered what type of medicine would make a small rabbit’s blood thick enough to not bleed out yet not coagulate either. That actually sounded pretty interesting. Li looked back down and reviewed what he had to do in his head. If he used enough chakra to stimulate the platelets then he could activate the clotting factors which should be enough to stop the bleeding. He molded his chakra accordingly and tried to do it just as his instructors had taught him. When he noticed it wasn’t exactly helping he racked his brain to figure out what was missing. With time ticking down, he remembered the pathways the cofactors and regulators needed to take to make the clotting process successful. The technique clicked as he made the adjustments and the blood ceased to flow. [2/2]

With the wound under control, Li just needed to seal the deal. He kept his hands firmly in place and focused on closing the wound. Chakra pored through his palms. This threads of chakra began to weave in and out as he enforced his will through them. The threading firmly took hold on each side, drawing the two pieces of parted flesh together. Li took extra care to proceed slowly in an effort to avoid scarring. When he was satisfied, he released the jutsu and observed the work to ensure he had not missed anything while threading the wound shut. [1/1]

Satisfied that he understood what he had previously learned, the genin walked out of the lab. As he passed the instructor he dropped the metallic object on her desk. “Thank you for the exam”. She waved him off and continued typing away. Li shrugged and began making his way to the training arena.

Sadayo read further into the details of the assignment: collect abandoned metal projectiles to re-purposed into new weapons, upon completion, she is able conveniently deliver the goods to a designated jounin somewhere in the academy. How lovely, the task is simple and I can finish it here!

Slipping out of the hallway, Sadayo returns to where she had began training in the great, open room at the front of the underground structure. She stood from a different angle and was able to see enough where the activity was less and set her sights on there. Lucky her, there were unattended tools scattered about: sunk into targets, discarded under targets, shoved to the side of wall, and next to columns. Wasn't this room dangerous enough? With sharp pointy tools lying about, I'd say the danger level skyrockets from a 8 to an 11. Sadayo began counting quietly. [1/3]

"Two, four, five...." Sadayo mumbles numbers by the handful. She was scurrying low to the ground along the wall, pretending she was gathering lost jewelry for a high-paying client, carefully lacing her fingers through the loops on the end of kunai handles. My, what lovely rings...! She jokes to herself. "Twelve. Thir-thirteen...Fourteen..." Her collection of kunai around her fingers was beginning to become a bit difficult to carry as is. [2/3]

To manage with the handful of projectiles, she would carefully place a few in her palm and close around a two kunai with the numerous others still looped around her fingers. Her thumb locks the mess together. Sadayo had swept under the target dummies and wiggles three senbon in between her fingers against the crammed kunai, as if her hand wasn't all ready a lethal weapon.
The task would've been better if she had remembered to organize her bag and store her findings there. "I would say that is enough." Sadayo said aloud, scanning over her small arsenal spanning over both hands. "Bad idea, really..." She told herself, eyeing the nine-teen kunai and six senbon balanced from her hands. [3/3]

Watch your step. Sadayo reminds herself to carry on with some level of caution to avoid unnecessary accidents. She paces back to the hallway and reads over the bulletin again before scurrying further into the hallway. Eventually, she found a higher ranking shinobi and explained why she's going about with sharp and pointy goods. From that point things seemed to work out, the jounin collected her collection of projectiles, thanked her, and send Sadayo on her way.

Aye! Now I wait for the relaunch! This may be my last post in dear ol' Sunagakure for a good while~ Wouldn't it be neat I were permitted to work in some wild plot twist for my character here once Suna is reopened?! Then gain, maybe I won't have to.
