"I noticed that," Jordan said, casting a puzzled glance at the pile of snow. "It was harder to tell outside with the weather, but the first one we took on did the same thing." He picked his way over the scattered debris to poke thoughtfully at the pile. "Looks like ordinary snow," he said thoughtfully.

Something was nagging at the back of his mind, but he couldn't quite focus on it; whenever he tried, it flitted away. He stopped trying to figure it out. It'd come to him if it was going to.

Ferros poked the half-formed idea, sending it back into hiding.

Don't do that, Jordan said, annoyed.

Now that this creature too crumbled to snow Rin flicked Byrs bladed end to rest at her feet. Exhausted and now leaning on his handle, she looked around. Trying to distract herself from her entire body feeling like it was on fire with the conversations of others.

Frowning slightly at the questioning murmurs that came of it. It was then she noticed Dr. H. Giving him an accusatory glare. Was this his doing? He cracked that woman's neck, after all. Without so much as a mild flinch. Even if it was just an illusion, you don't do that sort of B.S., especially if you're not a sane predictable human being.

She wanted to march right up to the man with an accusatory swinging of her finger. Except. She was terrified of him. Instead, she just stood there - staring massive daggers at him.

Only after the yeti exploded did Sasha manage to fumble her way into summoning Nona. Tears threatened to spill down her pale cheeks as Before asked her if she was hurt. It wasn't the words that he used, but his tone of voice that really stung. The last thing she wanted to do, though, was to burst into tears here and now. Not on a mission, and not surrounded by fellow hunters.

<Save them for later, my precious ghoul.> It was the most reasonable that Nona had been since the start of this mission.

Yes.

Blinking her eyes rapidly, Sasha gave her attention to Before.

"No, sir," she mumbled, eyes glassy. Nona was gripped in her hands, the cool metal of her handles soothing in some strange way. She couldn't blame the Intermediate for being upset - Sasha doubted that 'baby-sitting idiots' was listed in his job description.

<You are no idiot, dove. You are my Sasha, and you will learn. Nona will teach you.>

Bix hadn't been much help but considering the flying debris and the mass of bodies throwing themselves at the enemy, perhaps it was good to be the backup?

You are making excusssses for being slow.

"The ones we fought on the island were different. The ones at Christmas?" They looked the same, except for some color variation. But they'd dissipated strangely back then. Of course all of Christmas time was strange... who was to tell?

"You okay?" He turned to Fini, hoping she hadn't been caught by the yeti or any debris. "We definitely need to keep an eye out for more. That was two right? There's no telling if there are more." The holes in the facility were now gaping and they still hadn't moved the barricade.

Candace sighed and rubbed the back of her head. It hurt from slamming into the wall. "Hmm? Oh, I'll be okay. Thank you, Molly." Candace pat her shoulder, using the girl to stand steady for a moment. She'd be okay. She was fine. Her head was throbbing and she was getting a nasty headache but she'd be okay.

So it was an anomaly for them that this creature was deforming into snow. "...Then why did he turn into snow." Strange. Another look was given to Aria and H; she was beginning to get suspicious that the yeti was...too convenient.

"Good job, you two." Candace smiled Molly and Mercedes' way. "Let's get back to cleaning up and finding whatever we can. I'm hoping once we get into that room there'll be more to tell us what happened here. But if you pick up any debris, check it thoroughly for any kind of marks to take note of." She looked down at the snow melting at her feet. "And keep your guard up..."

Candace climbed over the tossed debris to get to Cass, looking her over as she approached the younger girl. "You okay?" What was that ringing sound? Was it in her head? s**t. Candace shook her head as if that would get it to stop. She'd be fine, it was just from hitting the wall.

Cass panted, using the desk she'd stopped to pull herself up to her feet, offering the older Mist Trainee a thumbs up in answer. "Yeah, I'm fine. I think I hit the desk harder than it hit me." she laughed as she tucked Nicodemus into the Ammo belt she wore, but kept him summoned.

"How about you? That looked like it hurt." she nodded towards the wall, then looked towards the pile of snow, frowning. That seemed like it..shouldn't have been happening, to be honest. It felt wrong to her, but she wasn't sure how to place it. A gut feeling that said them deteriorating into snow made them even less safe?

Something like that.

"Is everybody holding up?" she asked, taking a glance around at the mists under their care as she moved to walk over the debris and back out onto somewhat more stable footing.

"Oh yeah, I'm good." Candace didn't sound very convincing, but she laughed as she said it and gave Cass a thumbs up anyway. "I've hit harder. Clarice's weapon smacked me in the head once and I was fiiiiine. I've got this." She rubbed at one of her ear with a frown. She'd be fine. It was just the shock of smacking her head.

Sensing her rather impressive glare, the doctor smiled and raised the flask in Rin's direction before taking a sip. A dimple flashed as Candace sent him more suspicious glances. Glancing around he made a mental note that young Sasha was quite possibly prone to tears which was precious, just look at her trying to keep it all in.

"Hmmm...Milton Bates, doing as expected." The life leader murmured as he pocketed the flask and brought out a small notebook, "Robert Morris...also capably meeting all of my exceedingly low expectations."

Before didn't feel any pangs of guilt at Sasha's demeanor. He'd given her simple instructions and it didn't even look like she tried to listen to him. Why so surprised, silly Before? People simple go through the motions when they deal with you. She won't be any different. Seems like even his partner wasn't in the mood to be accommodating to the Misty's inner tantrum.

The Misty gave a sigh, breathing out his annoyance before asking the Lifer, in a more amicable voice, "Where are you hurt? We should have some bandages in the kit."

"I said I wasn't hurt, sir," Sasha repeated. She looked lost and more than a little confused. Everyone else seemed entirely capable of realizing what they were supposed to be doing. Sasha just felt a little foolish.

Lifting her chin, she peered at Before. "It looks like everyone else has the attacks covered, sir. If you just point me in the proper direction, sir, I would be more than happy to just... do whatever needs to be done. Sir."

<Simpering. Enough, Sasha.>

I'm.. I'm not ready to fight. I just want to do something useful. There's no point in attacking, not when we were given specific orders to look for survivors, be they living or technological.

Nona fell silent, but Sasha could feel the palpable irritation that the weapon exuded.

Sasha just looked at Before, waiting for an order. The tears had been dealt with, tucked away. Just like she'd been forced to do as a child, lest she be reprimanded further.

Cass grinned and pat Candace on the shoulder. "If you need some painkillers or something, I've got some in my supplies." she offered. She probably needed to pop one as well for her shoulders, but never the less, it looked like their work was cut out for them with all the debris littered around again. It looked like they needed to clear stuff out a bit.

Again.

"Well, I think that encounter could have gone a little better, though. I...." she paused and looked towards the Moon Division to see who hadn't scattered to attack with them, then to the Lifers with a sigh. This was a mess. Even H seemed to taking notes, and Cass shot him a curious look - after all, she had hero complex going on all over the place with Aria and H in one room.

"I have a feeling that we need to do more exercises like this to get us working in a proper tandem where we don't all jump to attack things, though. It seems like we're really used to doing that for a first response.."

Rep spent his downtime listening to other people's discussions almost distantly, he'd never learned to keep his nose out of other people's business and he certainly didn't intend to start now. He hadn't been suspicious of the yeti personally, he had no ******** idea if monsters that most people would think were something right from the imagination /weren't/ meant to disintigrate when they died. It had certainly felt mean enough when it had hit him. But it seemed there was something weird about the thing. Not really his problem, his job was just to attack whatever he had to.

At the very least it seemed like things were quiet for the time being, and he wasn't about to waste a bit of time to relax, and still refusing to desummon Tracey, wandered over to one of the desks, not far from where H was seated and swept whatever papers and the like that were on it off onto the floor with a clatter. Someone else's problem. And then had a seat right there on the desk, propping the axe against him. He eyed the doctor in passing, noting that he hadn't even moved to help them fight the yeti, still where he'd been sitting when Rep was chucked out into the snow, seemed like this mission was the domain of the trainees. He was half tempted to ask the man if he had anything left in that flask to chase off this cold, but thought better of it, he seemed like an okay guy for the most part, but there was some deep rooted instinct that told even Rep he might be better off keeping his mouth shut.

Rep reminded Tracey the only thing wrong with him was the nanny in his ******** head.

He did resign to keeping his mouth shut, shooting Aria a glare and nothing more, he didn't want to give her more reason to pick on him for being aware of female frailty.

Marcus was resisting banging his head against the wall. Did the moon trainees just.... "The heck are you doing?" his voice was exasperated. "We're moon division, not look around and investigate division." Saya and Ami both got a disappointed look. The sound outside got a pausing glance but Marcus heard no screams, and while Bix seemed moved to cover, Marcus only asked Dis his opinion.
Caution I'd say. The sun hunters are supposed to watch your backs. Your a** too, but I don't hold that against them
The weapon was ever helpful. It wasn't until Rin bust in that Marcus's look went from disappointment to frustrated. "Figures." One of the other moon trainees went to investigate more, making Marcus roll his eyes. What the hell was going through their minds he hadn't a clue. It didn't help as the Yeti showed up. Marcus was fine to just stand clear of the hunters and monster. They killed it. Yay them.

"Rin." Marcus looked at the huntress who'd "I want you to take debris and begin to fill in the hole below the one at window level. Saya, Ami, do the same with the one above that. Use debris if possible to barricade the holes. While the Yeti can obviously break through the walls, and we have the gate to the arctic over here, closing the smaller might discourage it from making them bigger, especially if you make the barricade have things like split wood to act as spikes."
Going over to Candace he motioned to the large gaping 'skylight'. "Candace, do you think it might be possible to have a few mists see if they can get on the roof and try to asses the damage from above? Alternatively would you mind helping with sealing off the main hole? If not that's fine, we'll have to move more debris either way. Speaking of-"

Looking at the other two Moon trainees, Marcus was wondering if he was cut out for this. "Emma, Michael, help me move the debris to the largest hole, make sure to follow the same set up of placing deterrents. Make sure to keep things solid and sturdy, give it a small shake as you move to check if it's weak as you build. Same goes for you three." He looked back at Ami, Rin, and Saya.

"We're moon division, our job is defense. Not investigating, not rushing to fight, it's defending. In this case, building. So, I want to see us actually build something." It was pretty clear Marcus was frustrated, and he cast a glance at Ariane. "Over see the three, I'll keep an eye on these two" There was a small twinge of self doubt in his voice. He wasn't sure what he was doing was the right thing, but it was... better than nothing right? Grabbing a broken board, he used it to shove debris at the largest hole, taking some time to set various bits to jut outward, packing them in. the board was to be the 'backing' more or less.

It was something.

And just like that the creature they'd fought so breifly, at least for the mist girls (and Feng), had dispersed into a pile of snow as if it itself was just a creature of snow.

"Let... let me get this straight did we actually fight something or did we fight a snowman?" Mercedes asked both Cass and Candace. "Because... it looked pretty real... and if it was made of snow I mean aren't we standing all over-" she looked around in a circle at her feet then back at the others with a frown.

Hearing Cass talk about the leaders currently observing, Mercedes felt a twinge of disappointment in herself. Was she here to get the job done as a group? or excel? What were they looking for anyway?

"Do we do a lot of all-faction missions like this?" she asked her group, anyone who could answer softly, avoiding making eye contact with Aria or H.

Cass nodded to Mercedes. "Normally monsters should dissipate when you finish smashing them around a bit. Which is why we're urged to not actually hurt them to that point. It lets them reform elsewhere and actually is a safer option for them." she explained as to why the snow made her suspicious.

Never the less, she knew what it was the girl mean.

"Normally we go out as Trainees to learn, but I don't think we've done a lot of missions where we split up and actually try to function as our groups are meant to interact." she further answered. "So you'll get used to people who woke up around the same time as you. Us Intermediates all woke up at about the same time, so we've pretty much 'grown up'" air quotations "together, despite divisions."
