Well said Requiem. Thats alot a strong point, only join RPs you find interesting cause if you don't find it interesting, you won't be putting forth your best work.
To find people that also share an interest with you, you might take a look at the GRID log Shade has up on the guild homepage. He's been taking great care to catalog everybody (who has filled out a form).

Well said everyone after me. All very good points to keep in mind. Quote: He's been taking great care to catalog everybody (who has filled out a form). Minus the fact I still have a full page of members left to fill out. Life has been getting hectic where I haven't had the time to put the rest down on the first page. Will probably get to it tomorrow though.

Another thing I could say about rps is this; to me, a rp is a story a group of people are writing together. I like to plan them out and I also like to watch things grow and develop as the story unfolds and things get deeper involved. I'm a writer, so it's a great inspiration for me as well as a good way to try out other things and characters while I'm not working on my main novel.
I always get disappointed when people drop out without warning (since I plan out lots of stuff for the story), leaving an empty rp. So it's nice to give warning, let people know you'll be on a break, or at least apologise that you won't be continuing. It's pretty disheartening to join a promising story with excitement, only to have it come to a screeching halt because for various unmentioned reasons everyone just up and left.
I find myself reluctant to join future rps when this keeps happening over and over. But, there's always reasons why it happens. It's not a case of where I want to place any blame. It's just a case that I love to find dedicated active rpers and write a really great story together...and have fun doing so!
If I get really into it, I'll start wanting to commission art works of mine and other's characters and plan future things for them. That's all part of the fun for me.
Okay, I've talked way too much. Sorry. I guess I've been wanting to discuss it for a while.
On a bright note, I am devising a set of guidelines for guild rp creation. This should help seperate the casual, quickly-tossed-together rps from the more dedicated, long term ones, thus helping us keep our guild more organised and free of clutter. It's still in the works right now though. Heh. cat_3nodding But it's something to look forward to.
I'll also be doing another clean up around June/July.

I'm the same way. xD I like to plan out parts of the RP ahead of time so we have a semi-complete storyline to loosely tread upon, sorta like the one I have posted in the first post of mine and SD's newest one-on-one RP, the Children of Silverhorn.

Yes, it's fun isn't it? It's even more enjoyable when you can collaborate together on it with someone before you even start, planning what you both want to create. Sometimes I find it fun to keep a few secrets and reveal them later on in the rp to the rest of the players. cat_smile Just keeps it interesting. I don't know how you manage to keep up with some of those role plays Viper. Star seems to make a lot of 'em. Lol. I always like to see the new things he and you come up with. One of my faves of his recent ones is that new one I saw with all the cool classes you could choose. I don't have time to join it right now though. :/ Also, poking snakes is not usually a good idea. cat_razz Hehehe. *Flops on the ground and rolls with Malus-Servus* I'm tiiiired....and bored since I'm tired. cat_sweatdrop

And thats especially true where you live, unless of course you are related to the crocodile hunter. xd

Wow, another role play as well? Incredible. smile
I remember the Dungeon Treasure one but I've never read all the way through it. I might have to read that too. Right now the ones I'm most interested in in this guild is the new Chobits one and the Pandora's Mark Remake one that Shade_Angel17 has been running for a few chapters now.
Yeah, not a good idea to poke anything snaky around here. We have Eastern Browns, Taipans and Black Whips in our garden and retaining wall and all are horribly venemous. Well, the browns and the taipan. The black whips are not so bad unless you have underlying conditions or are young or elderly. The snake catcher has been called out to our place on numerous occasions. He is a great guy and very passionate about it. He told us about the first aid for snake bites (use compression bandages, keep person calm and call ambulance. The bandages will save a life).
He also told us not to put pot plants or other objects around entryways such as doors. And to always turn the light on and have a good look around before stepping outside when it's low light. And lots of other helpful things.
Oh yeah, that was really sad about what happened to Steve. I used to love watching his show with my brother when we were younger. He was a good guy who loved animals, I think. Actually, that reminds me, I've started watching this show lately that is also really good; it's called Nick Baker's Weird Creatures. Have you seen it?

I know people think I'm crazy for making alot of roleplays but consider the fact that half of the people I roleplay with either quit the guild or just mysteriously vanish, it's really not as much as people think. sweatdrop Plus I'm just a creative person and since I really don't have a job right now, or am going to college, it's pretty much all I can do at this moment. :/ I'll be honest.
Some of my ideas may not be that interesting, I just kind of think up a scerio and go with it. I kind of make them for myself really ^^; to see if there is anyone crazy enough to want to roleplay that scenerio out with me. xD lol
I'm kind of sticking to one on one's at the moment because I make ideas like the MMO inspired roleplay and they die out. I liked the old west one too lol but we don't have many people roleplaying on here. Or not that I know of. ^^; I've been kind of in a funk lately. xP

I liked that Old west one too (although the name of it doesn't really scream old west so I don't blame it for not gettin the attention it deserves). But I'm also pretty sure that RP was waiting on reply from you cuz your character is making all the food while the woman set the table and stuff. =P
You should try your hand at being a freelance writer or something along those lines. I could see you writing books, short stories, or maybe even children's books.

lol well the funny thing is that I'm already writing a rough draft of a (maybe short) story series. lol xD Roleplaying isn't the only thing I do. razz I've written countless stories about my OC Max. xD lol
I'll probably store Dusty and Destiny into my character bank and use them for a story later, same with Cress. Sometimes I discover new characters that I really like when I roleplay. ^^

There you go, just gotta find a editor and publisher to help you go the rest of the way. 3nodding
Abd lol, which Cress? I've seen you use that name a few times. Although Scarlett and Cress' story could easily make a good book... blaugh

Well Crestus is more of my magic swordsman character. Like Max and most of my other characters, I usually alter him when I roleplay. lol xD
