"Nonsense," he said brightly, not taking his eyes of Orin. Finally, he looked into her worried face. "Really, it's fine. I promise. He doesn't mind at all. He just thinks I am here to try and recruit him again," he laughed. "He's not very happy with our goverment at the moment. Nor us. That's probably why the colonel was so agitated."

"Then why come here? John you know how he feels towards me. I'm not going to be here as you know I am a constant reminder of what happened to his people. I'm not going to torture him like that. I will be outsude, enjoy your time." Keira turned and walked the door as she couldn't do that to Orin. She didn't understand why John was persistance.

John followed her outside into the sunlight. "Keira. I know you don't want to, but the both of you are going to have to get along. To do that, you'll need to be in the same room. I know you don't understand, but trust me. Can you do that?" When she said nothing, he lowered his voice. "Look, the reason I want this so badly is because... he may know a way to keep me alive. His people were the ones who created the doors in the first place. His ancestors built them to find a way to control other worlds. They know the secrets to controlling the doors; they're the only ones who know how to use them. Right now, they are chaotic, letting people in our world at random, but never out. But it's more than just that. Orin means a lot to me. He's like a brother to me and I want him in my life. Please... for me. For us."

Keira looked at him. "Its not right John at least to me its not." Keira wasn't too.happy with this until he said Orin's ancestors created the door. "Why don't you ask him than instead of me being in the same room. Its not fair to torture him as to put a constant reminder of how his people died in the room. I understand you want him in your life but I can leave when he's there."

"That's rediculous, Keira," he said with frustration. "He has that reminder no matter where you are. He dwells on it every day since it's happened. He needs to get over this and heal! He can't do that if he never sees a human and makes his peace. You need this too. You can't keep feeling inferior. We're fighting a war for you to have the right to be equal! I'm dying so that you can live! When are you going to lift your head and realize you belong?" He could feel his anger rising. If she kept acting like she didn't belong, then why was he sacrificing himself?

Keira flinched alittle as John was getting angry. "That's exactly it John!" She placed her hand on both side of his cheeks. "I don't like being reminded you're going to die because of me. I didn't ask to fall in love with you but I did. I love you and I don't want to see you die." Tears were now forming, yhreatening to fall. "I don't belong here. Human beings are selfish creatures who takes what they want and not carring who they hurt. We had no right coming here and hurting so many lives. Worse yet, its are fault vampires are here, we brought disease, we are fragile. I should do you all a favor and help get rid of one human." Keira backed away as she turned and ran, the flower John gave her fell besides his feet. Keira ran as tears were now shedding. She amazed herself by running in heels as she didn't want John to follow. She went in random directions as she than finally stopped. She walked a few feet as she tripped over something and fell. She rolled down a hill as she slammed into a rock injuring her side. She jissed as she stood but realized she twisted her ankle when she tripped. She was lost and night time will soon fall......

Orin frowned as John filled them all in. The sun had finally disappeared below the horizon. John had stumbled around in the woods for hours looking for which way his fiance had gone. The group from the tavern dispersed, searching for Keira in different directions. John siezed Orin's arm, looking crazed. "Please. You have to help me." Orin nodded. "You need to rest here. You're already bloodied up and exhausted. It'll be no good if we find Keira and have to start looking for you, too. Wait here and see if she comes back." John sank to his knees helplessly, his hands trembling. "We'll find her," Orin said, "I promise. He wandered outside and picked up the flower. From there he began tracking her, hoping to find her in one piece. He could see the distant flicker of lanterns all throughout the trees and noticed they went in the complete opposite direction from her trail. Orin set out, following the trodden grass and snapped branches, more determined than ever.

I Keira limped her way around as she often trips. She had a few mall scratches here and there as she walked blindly. She couldn't see in the dark. "Humans are fragile." She mumbled as she did feel fragile. Keira walked a few pace more until she tripped inside water. She was now soaked and wet as she crawled out. Her hair became lose as it hung losely down her back drentched. Keira saw a small crevase from rocks. "Humans are weak and we deserve to die." She whispeared as she held her right side and hoped over to the rocks. She sat down between them until she heard noises. Keira looked as a wolf of some sort popped out with glowing red eyes. Keira let out a loud scream as she fell backwards. She reached for anything but if she has to, she will fight as she was trained to do so.

Orin heard the scream; she was much closer than he had realized. He jumped from a small cliff and landed next to a wolf. Go in peace, brother. She is one of mine. The wolf hesitated and then traipsed off into the woods to find another meal. Orin bent down and scooped Keira up. "You have worried John," he said simply, "He's even injured himself looking for you. It was foolish to run off." His tone remained impassive, but his eyes showed deep concern.

Keira hissed as he picked her up as the injury to her side throbbed in pain. "Humans are selfish, veil, and evil creatures..." Keira whispeared as she slumped in his arms as she was in pain but physically and emotionally. She rested her head on Orin's shoulder. Keira...sleep Keira....sleep. a haunting voice spoke in her mind as she was slowly drifting to sleep.

Orin could feel her pain. He cast a soothing charm over her to lull her to sleep and carried her back to the inn. As soon as he approached, John came bursting through the door. "What happened to her? Where was she? Is she okay?" "I will heal her. You go tell the others the search has ended," he commanded in his deep voice. John nodded. Orin was better with medicine than any healer he'd ever known. Orin lay her carefully on a bed in his small chamber and busied himself selecting jars from a large case against the wall. He set about boiling water in the grate, then sat, waiting for her to awaken so he could make sure the potion was fresh; it was tricky. If you waited too long, it could kill. Take it off the fire too soon and it wouldn't work at all. He put a cool cloth on her head and put his voice into her mind, telling her that she should not fear nor pity him. "I promise."

Keira fell into deep slumber as darkness fell upon her. Hunans are selfish....evil...and cruel... That same darken voice called as Keira was once again back in yhe forest. "Wake up Keira....Wake up.." She couldn't wake as she walked in the same direction. The pool of blood was now larger as screams filled the air. Keira continued as she saw humabs kill. It was not the faires but Orin's people. "Do not fear or pity me." She heard his voice as she searched for him. "Stop it please...!" Keira cried. "Why is this happening..." Keira started to cry. "John..." She called.

Orin felt the effects of her fevered dream. He began chanting over her as he burned an herb mixture in a clay bowl. He wafted the scented smoke over her with a large feather and continued chanting, bringing himself into her dream. He quickly found her, back turned to him, watching the murder of his people. Orin looked on sadly and then turned his back to the scene, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Come away Keira. This is nothing civilized eyes should see. Come away." He began leading her toward the edges of her dream.

Keira saw it akk. The cruelty, the hate, and no remorse. She felt someone as she turned it was Orin. He pulled her away but it didn't help hearing the screams...Keira shot up as she gave a small scream from the pain in her side and angel. She was cokd as she broke down crying. "We are cruel and we deserve to die. Oh I am sorry Orin." She shook as she let the tears fall freely. "First the faries and now your people." Sge whispeared.
