"I try not t' . . . 'course, dat don't mean it works all de time. If I let dat thing loose in combat, things get mighty ugly. Couple times I came to an' saw blood dat wan't mine an' . . . Well, I'd rather not talk 'bout it." he said, finishing up his sentence in French, rather upset about it. C.J. put an arm around his bud.

"Ease up, slim. What's done is done, man. You've come a long way from havin' Dundee and I lock ya in the barn if you got too far outta control. 'Sides . . . it's part a' who y'are." he said. There was a sign of brotherhood from the guys. They went through a lot together.

They had managed to get inside and Kai watched as the guys showed some brotherly like affection. She wasn't sure if they were actually related but it sorta made her like them a bit more... besides making her a little upset. Kai felt horrible for not really having anything like that till way later. The closest thing she had to family was Kane... her parents were just too cold to her for her to consider them family despite the fact they had also brainwashed her sisters who were now gone. Kai shut the door behind them and led them to the closes room on the first floor far before the kitchen that she assumed everyone was either still in or had left in a mess for Alfred.

"Let's take him into a spare room. Lay him down and I'll try and heal him..."

"Good idea. Anything you need me to get?" C.J. asked as they walked in towards the room. It seemed out of the two that weren't Paralyzed, the Marylander had a little bit better connection with Kai than Arell, but both seemed mighty keen on making sure that Dundee was back with 'em.

So THIS is the inside of Wayne Manor . . . kinda looks different from the Tim Burton movie. Dundee thought as he got set down on a bed when the four entered a room.

"Think you can get 'im back, che'?" Arell asked, looking at Kai with concern. After all, that was family that was stuck like that.

((Gonna assume they set Dundee's chub on the bed already since CJ is free to help out))

"Some water, A scalpel, and some towels... and that should be it."

Kai shivered a little as her hand hovered over Dundee's right arm. She could feel the cells slowly loosing their resilience from the toxin. It was going to be difficult she could feel the cold aura he had.

"And fast okay, It seems his cells are dying... not just paralyzed."

That and he was conscious... Kai couldn't understand how horrible it would be to not be able to move, slowly dying. She wondered if he'd felt any pain, or if he had the luxury of feeling numb. Not that his situation was any good to begin with.

C.J. nodded, darting to the kitchen to get a pail of water, and into one of the manor's linen closets for some towels. Strangely maneuvering around like he knew the area . . . however, he didn't seem to find a scalpel.

Fortunately, Arell had a solution by the time he got back. Reaching into one of Dundee's pockets he produced a switchblade knife. Dundee's eyes got big. THEY'RE gonna do WHAT?!? he thought. He was unaware that he was dying but seeing a knife they're gonna use on them was a little much for the weak-stomached Dundee.

C.J. came back with some towels and water. "A'right, Kai. Hope these'll work for ya . . . I really don't want Dundee to die." C.J. said. Trying to stay calm but was still scared for his friend.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:32 pm

"Yea, I would feel horible if I couldn't help him too."

Kai sighed and took the knife and towels from C.J. She placed one towel in the water wetting it and wiped at Dundee's left arm maneuvering around the bed. She placed the wet towel over his arm clean side down and a try one under his arm. She then flipped the wet towel over and took the switchblade flipping it open. Kai shivered a little as she placed it near the top of his wrist.

"Sorry Dundee, I don't want to hurt you... I don't like blood and stuff too but I have to in order to remove the toxin."

She took a deep sigh and pushed down on the blade pulling along his arm up to his elbow just about cutting deep. Kai wanted a scalpel so that the cut would be cleaner and bleed less unless she'd force the blood. After the cut was made she quickly pulled the wet towel over the cut and then pressed her hands firmly over it. Kai concentrated on pulling the negative energy of the toxin from his aura'd blood. She felt the needle like feeling of the toxin and pulled it towards herself into the towel controlling her aura almost precisely as a tool. Although, she also was drawing a bit more blood than she wanted.

"Damn toxin doesn't want to separate from his blood... If I have to regenerate all of his blood for him we're both screwed. I'm thinking... that I should try this another way..."

Kai simply pressed on his arm now to slow the bleeding pressing her aura against the length of the wound. He hadn't lost a lethal amount of blood but at that rate and her gradually weakening aura it would become that.

"I would really like to ******** know what Kane used on Dundee, the toxin is almost as thick as his blood and refuses to separate."

It was obvious that Kai was quickly starting to become agitated and upset by her original plan not working. For the purpose of not helping Dundee and for looking like a failure in front of Arell and CJ already. A couple scenarios ran through her mind but before she could do anything more she had to take a breath and meditate a little while holding down Dundee's arm, not allowing it to bleed, but also not allowing it to heal since she still intended to filter his blood in some fashion.

Despite what Kai thought was failure actually worked a little bit. Dundee was able to move his head around, and in a quiet voice, looked at Kai.

"Kane . . . put one on me, y'all. Just when I was 'bout t' shoot 'im. 'jected me wit' somethin' funky near my chest. I think it was a blood thickener mixed with potassium bicarbonate . . . please hurry. I'm fadin' fast, y'all." he wheezed. He had somehow come to terms with the fact he was dying a bit. This wasn't looking like a Gene Autry ending for him where they'd be all fine and happy by the end.

C.J. looked at Arell. "I really regret tryin' t' use Dundee as live bait now." he said . . . looking back at Dundee, he really wished it was HIM on the bed instead of Dundee. Dundee was a genius . . . just accident prone, and a damn good Designated Driver for the boys.

Arell looked back at C.J., then got down next to Dundee. "C'mon, man . . . you can pull through this. Just hang on." Arell said.

"More like Botulinum Toxin or Curare, with a blood thickener and god knows what else... I have a feeling Kane did this on purpose but for now you should try to be quiet okay Dundee."

Kai let go of Dundee's arm for a moment and cut her own hands removing the towel and placing her cuts over his wound.

"My Immune system can better handle the Toxin so I will switch blood with him. I don't want to be out for the next few days but, if it's to save you guys from what Kane did I will."

Using up one life, of her own but it's better than removing the only life that Dundee had. Luckily she had a universal blood type so his blood shouldn't reject her. This kind of action would really take a lot out of Kai not to mention she might loose consciousness for a few days trying to purify and change Dundee's blood to her own type. Hopefully if she'd lost consciousness they would wrap up her hands after the job was all done. The blood moved most obviously under her hands while her aura spun over the wound slowly healing the length of it to just where her hands were. Already she was starting to appear to nod off despite having only exchanged 1/4 of her blood with Dundee. She thought of how much it would have been her fault that Kane did this. Without Bruce there, she felt like she could be the only person to remove the toxin. Such as a world without the Justice league. those Super heroes seemed to be able to do anything without little sacrifice. At least in her mind.

"The league wouldn't have even let this happen. Batman wouldn't have let this happen... and he'd be able to fix up Dundee 10 times better than I could."

"Let her work, guys . . . I'll be fine." Dundee said to the guys and nodded at Kai. "Let 'er rip." he said and put his head down and closed his eyes. He knew what was gonna happen.

Arell noticed Kai was about to fall over, and went over to her to steady her balance. "Hang on, che'. I gotcha." he said . . . actually showing compassion? Someone that when they first met was a very cold, sarcastic, chain-smoking alcoholic gunslinger showed caring for both the paralyzed man AND Kai?

However, the blood that Kai transferred into Dundee had worked considerably, already getting the young man back into fightin' fit condition. Dundee's immune system could handle the rest.

Kai continued to transfer blood before letting go.

"You, should be a bit better... later, I will try and remove the rest of the toxin okay."

She nodded a bit shaking slightly trying to still hold herself up. If it had only been that small amount of toxin she would still retain consciousness past the point of healing the cut on his arm but because she had also used a large amount of her energy also on C.J. and lost a bit to the crystal she was well out of it. Near the end she quickly healed Dundee's arm, not enough time to heal it in a way that wouldn't leave a scar but it was at least healed. After talking to Dundee she passed out in front of Arell from exhaustion her last thought being that she had failed to remove /all/ of the toxin in time before she was flat out expired of her energy.

Arell caught Kai before she hit the floor. Dundee got up and slid into a chair as the big guy put Kai on the bed and started dressing her wounds. He looked at the two and smirked.

"It's nice t' have ya back, Dundee." Arell said as C.J. adjusted his baseball cap.

"Welcome back t' the land of the living, bud." C.J. said as Dundee smiled a little bit.

"Thanks, guys. Tol' ya I'd be okay." he said . . . little did he know that he was more damaged than he thought. He could no longer feel pain, his nerves shot up so bad. Of course the other affects had yet to be shown . . .

While the group was busy smiling and patting each other on the back, the overwhelming scent of blood had caught the attention of someone else.

Reaper stood on the other side of the doorway, leaning against the wall, and facing the hallway so that he wasn't seen unless someone came out of the room. For the most part, his body language was calm, indifferent....but his hand farthest from the door was clenched tightly at his side. And his eyes.....his eyes were wide and and filled with a hunger that extremely few had seen on his face and lived to tell about it.

He'd been living off of bats and rats for the last couple of WEEKS....he'd been good....VERY good.....and absolute saint compared to what he could and should do. He wanted.....he NEEDED a taste of the real stuff. He was being good for Doctor Strange. Wanted to be good so that he'd still be in the sorcerer's favor when he finally got back.

...but....he could let go just this once, right? He'd been good.....so good.....
And Felicia....Felicia would understand. He had no intentions of killing anyone. Or even hurting them. He just....he just needed this. Needed the real thing....

Carefully, he closed his eyes and turned to make his presence known. Opening his eyes they were as normal as anyone's. He looked at the group with a frown, his eyes falling on the blood and the red-soaked bandages scattered around.
"Have fun outside, did we?" he asked.

C.J. looked over at the fellow. "Just some hard luck with a snake dude." he said as Dundee looked at the guy. Was that the same guy who was in the batcave?

"Hey, bud. Nice t' see you got out of the cave." Dundee said to Reaper as Arell nodded to Reaper. Of course Dundee was closer to Reaper than Arell was, he was busy getting reamed out by Kai when he was last in here, so the big Cajun kept quiet.

Blake smiled at them a bit as he entered. "Far too dull down there. Ambience is much better up here." he said to Dundee. Then he frowned a bit. "Did you say you had a snake problem? What did you do, fall into a pit?" he asked as he picked up a blood soaked rage and meshed it in his hand.

Dundee smirked. "Naw . . . big mutant snake owned by a psycho attacked us while we were looking for someone else." he said as C.J. rolled his eyes.

"I guess you gonna tell him your address, too?" C.J. asked as he sat down by the bed near Red Cardinal. He looked over the fourth wall again, this time to a different thread. Boy . . . it's March 2012! I'm surprised that forum got into February! Maybe when it gets closer I'll get the courage up to ask 'er out next year . . . he thought. Then he realized his possibilities. Or later o- naaaah. Dude, "hi, I'm C.J., the guy who dates you in the side forum" is NOT a good pickup line! he thought.
