Landing on the ground, the flames suddenly vanished. His tail hidden from sight, John looked at the officers for a brief second, and pulled out his Canadian Badge. Confirming that he was a member of Alpha Flight.
"John Shuryo, Member of Alpha Flight."John said showing his badge to the Americans. "The Canadian government will pay for all damages."He informed them, seeing how he did crash into a building himself.

The cops exchanged glances after Paragon's explanation, and John's introduction. One of the cops farthest from the group knoded and headed back towards the cruisers, then the first man turned back towards the group. "Right. It'll be easier to get all of this straightened out at the station. If you'll all just-"
Alex tuned him out at that point. Here attention went straight towards the cop that was heading back to the car. He walked over to the man still in the car, murmured something to him, then leaned back. The man in the car pulled out the radio and put it close to his mouth.
Alex tensed up and moved over towards Lucas, gently grabbing hold of his arm. "I really do need to get back. We should probably go." she said quietly. Every bit of her was wanting to get out of here now. Before anyone started shooting at them.

"Hey, hey... Calm down would you?" Lucas asked Alex, attempting to calm her. "Nobody's gonna shoot us, okay?"
"Bitches can try," Hancock mumbled, and Lucas shot him a look of warning before turning back to the officer.
"Miss Skyler and I here," he said, "had a rough night last night and it didn't start out too well today either; there were these bikers or some people, they chased down that van you see over there, all banged up. I never detected anyone inside it though. Anyway, I got shot in the skull this morning by one of those idiots and just got knocked through a building, too. On top of that, we're hungry and are just wanting something to eat right now. So I'll be more than happy to provide a testimony myself, as it seems Alex here is really nervous, but can we at least be given some food first?"

The officers exchanged a glance again, then turned back to Lucas. "Alright. You can stay here and eat. But we can't allow you to leave until we get everything sorted out." the officer said, then looked over at John. "And...you'll have to come down to the station to fill out the paperwork."

"Fine by me," Lucas said, while Hancock just snorted, and flew away. Lucas watched him go, shaking his head in disappointment.

The police watched him leave with a tight frown. There was nothing they could do, and it wasn't like shooting at him was going to do anything. The leading officer looked back at the two heroes and said, "As I said. Don't leave this area. O'Neil will be escorting you to make sure you come back here when you're done." Then the man turned to John. "Do you need anything to eat? Or can you come with us now?"

Lucas nodded. "So... Where do we go now?" he asked, looking to Alex and unconsciously holding her hand in his own.

Alex was standing next to him, practically leaning behind him with her eyes fixed on the police. She was antsy enough that she wasn't even aware that they were holding hands.
"I don't know..." she replied. "And I really don't care. Just...away from here before more show up."

"Alex," Lucas said softly, "these people aren't like whoever you faced. Those police that would shoot at you aren't here now. You don't have to be scared." He squeezed her hand a bit, and was only dimly aware of the motion.

Alex hesitated, then let out a breath she'd been holding and leaned her head on his shoulder. "Still vigilantes...still probably find some stupid record on me somewhere along the line."

Lucas felt Alex's head on his shoulder and tensed up, having never felt such a gesture before, but he quickly calmed down, right before a crimson-and-gold blur landed in front of them.
"Good morning, officers! Is there a problem?" Captain Marvel asked, and then looked to Lucas and Alex, smiling. "Hello again, you two, How're you doing?"
"Apart from getting shot in the head by a Desert Eagle and getting thrown through a building? I'm fine..." Lucas said with a small smile, and Marvel grinned even wider when he noticed that Alex's head was on Lucas' shoulder.
(Yeah, I didn't have him leave Hell, technically. I dun cair-- they needed a way out, and a DC hero backing them is a surefire way to get the police off their backs.)

The officers looked at Marvel with wide eyes. "Well, you know these two? Alright then." the lead officer said as he motioned O'Neil back. No need for them to hold the two heroes then. The man's previous statement would do.
Alex looked up at the Captain as he appeared, then frowned a bit when he looked at her and smiled wider.
...then she realized what she was doing. She pulled her head back and took a step away from Lucas, drawing her hand away and stuffing her hands in her pockets.

Lucas looked to Alex and frowned, but his attention turned to Captain Marvel.
"Any luck finding Zatanna?" he asked, and the veteran hero shook his head. "No. But knowing her, she'll show up on her own at some point. I wouldn't worry." he said, and Lucas shrugged.

"She did, but according to Atropos, she was in another section of the region of Hell we were in last night. I looked all over the castle, couldn't find her. So either she left, or... I don't know," Marvel replied. Lucas folded his arms.
"Well... there isn't much we can do right now for her. I guess if she does show up, she'll do so on her own," he said, even though a part of him didn't like what he was saying. Maybe it was the hunger.
