Matasoga watched her with concern. For ease of flight on fragile, often insectile wings faeries always had a lower body fat ratio than their human (or even elven) counterparts. If she was plant-based or closely tied to plants, then this might be harder still for her. Matasoga thought about his prestidigitation spell and how he could light something aflame if need be, but all he could break off and light would be a tree branch, and he thought that this might offend her. "Will you be alright?" he asked. "I can loan you my scarf and carry you the rest of the way, if you'd like. Or maybe carry you beneath my hat," he offered with a slight smile.

Leiko didnt answer him, instead just got to his shoulder. Folding her wings shut she slipped just inside the opening of his coat. Only her tiny head stuck out as she clung there, warming up.
"I-is it-t always th-this c-c-co-cold?" She managed to squeeze out of chattering teeth.

[[Akima]] Akima had holed herself in the pitch blackness of the room she had remembered was assigned to her. While she had hid away in the trees, a large gust of wind blew the leaves out of covering position and the result singed her skin. It was difficult to not fall into the ground from the tree, and lay there as the reaction worsened, but her survival instincts wouldn't let such a thing happen. She gritted her teeth against the pain, not letting out a sound that would release the pain into a more noticeable feeling, Akima had dropped from the tree with a heavy awkward thump on the ground. She forced herself into the guild house, attempting, and she didn't bother to cover herself on the way, because she didn't know the cause and it made no sense to do such a thing. Once inside, her skin was nearly instantly cooled off, as if a mist had touched her the rash that was forming bubbles along her cheek bones and forearms. She found herself in her room, embracing the darkness, because even the artificial light pained her eyes to look into it. And what was this sore in her head? Akima didn't like Earth one bit, and she decided this while laying next to the bed, nearly underneath it wrapped in much of the bedding that had adorned the piece of furniture. She wouldn't be immediately visible, but if one stopped to look, they'd see slight trembling in the bundle of blankets by the bed, near the headboard. Her skin was now just red, she couldn't tell anyway, but the bubbles receded nearly half an hour ago, and Akima was still cautious, and slightly spiffed that maybe the atmosphere of the Earth was now just playing with her, and planned to attack again when she came out from the comfort of the darkness and the blankets. It clicked in her mind in that instant. The light. Though the reasonable thought made all sense to her, Akima made no move from her place in the darkness, and didn't plan to any time soon. Even her mind didn't wander passed the room she was in.

Only on the inside, and only lately, Matasoga though bitterly. Through his melancholy he said, "No, dear, but we are, of course heading into winter. It's always rather chill on this hilltop, but I actually enjoy that. It's instantly warm as soon as you set foot inside, and it really helps you appreciate the warmth, coming in from the cold." Beneath his coat, Matasoga's chest was bare. His sensitivity was lesser than a humans but far more than all but the youngest of dragons. He still felt Leiko's tiny body rather easily against the bare scales of his chest. With one thick, draconic finger he stroked her hair softly, hoping that his quasi-reptilian body (which was not as warm as the average humans but far from being as reliant on the environment for heat as a reptile's) would provide enough heat to keep her comfortable. Matasoga opened the large iron gate and took his first step onto one of the inlaid stones that wound gently to the large, cathedral-style double doors of his estate. "Don't worry," he said softly, just loud enough to be heard over the breeze rustling the bare branches. "It's nearly over. We're nearly home, now."

Leiko was indeed warming up, and soon her tiny body didnt shake as much. She was easily deciding she wouldnt like the outside very much in this new place, at least not till winter came to an end. That meant she wouldnt be able to take care fo any plants until spring. "No trees.." The thought was depressing to the plant fairy and she gave a tiny sigh. Eyes closed as he touched her hair, relaxed for the moment as she let him lead them up to the house, content to wait until they were inside before leaving the warmth his body gave. "I cant wait." She said, more cheerful than a moment ago.

In very little time, Matasoga (who had slightly quickened his pace for the comfort and well-being of his diminutive, new, little slave) had cleared the distance to the doors and had reached the large, heavy double doors. Little Leiko would find her space shrink as Matasoga's muscles tightened and expanded as he pulled opened the doors and stepped inside. The soft scent of burning wood and the immediate warmth from the fireplaces throughout washed over them. "Welcome home," he said to her, as he held the string taut and cut her loose.

She made no noise of protest as he opened the doors, instead just peeking out to see what was in front of them. She was quick to pull herself out of his coat once he shut the door's behind them. Clinging to the end of his coat, she took in her surroundings. Leiko waited till he cut the string before her wings unfolded and she flew up, just above his head. She zipped around the room, never leaving his sight, or mor correctly, never letting him out of hers. It was easily noticed she gave the fireplace a wide berth before flying back to him. "This is your home?" She asked, tiny voice suprised.

He put on the widest smile that his move allowed. "This is the entryway," he said, before continuing onward the 15' by 15' by 15' room, opening the next door into a room 25 wide feet by 80 feet long. There were four balconies, that began at 15 feet high, the ceiling reaching a height of 30 feet. Tables were arranged and populated by people speaking to one another as Matasoga strode towards the center of the room and took a seat on a couch. "Would you like the tour, now?" he asked her?

[[Akima]] Akima's ears perked even though it was her mind that 'heard' the foreign presence as Matasoga returned. The blankets were scratchy against her skin, but she didn't mind in the least because it was much better than the earlier feeling of inearly indescribable pain as she burned from the outside in. The mound of blankets shifted and she moved them from around her, pleased to be greeted by the pitch blackness of the room. She shakes off the bedsheet from her shoulders where her shirt had taken fairly most of the light. Her skin began to glow as her nocturnal reaction took place. The light that came off of her was unusually tinted, and Akima had to study this for a moment. Akima hoped that it was indeed the light that had nearly crippled her. It's not like she could resist going back outside, and would probably get herself killed going outside anyway for she has bad cases of 'cabin fever'. She assumed it would be long, drawn out death as well, and this didn't bother her for now. Akima didn't leave the room right away, not quite akin to the light that had hurt her eyes only a couple of hours before. She could see perfectly well anyway, so the darkness was not at all a problem. For now she began to pull the blankets back onto the bed.

Her first reaction to the room and all the people was to hide behind Matasoga. Then her curiousity got the better of her and she darted around the room, taking in everything she could with eagerness. Her flying darted above everyone else, soon reaching just out of sight in the ceiling, only to fly back down to the lit area. Seeing the candles she landed on a stone trough's edge, looking at the molten wax curiously. What she didnt pay attention to though was the wax candle above her, which had collected enough wax on the edge to drip at that moment. She gave a sudden cry and half jumped half fell from the trough, flying back to her new master with tears on her face. She landed on his lap, and from his view he could see the big droplet on her shoulder, which had rolled down to a stop in her clothes. The skin had reddened around and under it.

Matasoga smiled slightly, though his eye was sympathetic. He quickly scooped the wax off with the tip of his claw. "Careful, now, dear," he said softly but sympathetically. He looked closely and saw that it was quite minor. "You should be just fine, dear, but if you'd like I can have someone heal you more quickly. Would you like that?" he asked. Meanwhile Sergius, his manservant and valet walked forth with a silver tray containing a parcel wrapped in brown paper and twine. Matasoga accepted it and gave his own parcel to Sergius. "Take this to Akima," he said. "Sergius bowed and went to do his master's bidding."

She held still as he scooped off the wax and didnt fly off once it was off. She shook her head at his offer and glanced back to look at the damage herself. "My wing isnt touched so no thank you. It just hurt!" She said with and angry sniffle, as if it was the wax's fault she had gotten hurt. Looking at the parcel given to Matasoga she walked over to it, poking it lightly with a finger as if she could figure it out from just that.

"This is for you," he said. "It's a black cape, black tailed coat, and black fedora for you to wear, like mine. It'll be big on you, but I think that'll actually be terribly cute. We might have then brought in a little at the waist and perhaps trim the cape, but otherwise we'll keep it as it is, though we'll cut out the back in a halter fashion so that you're wings aren't impeded. Sergius will take your measurements, later on." He thought for a moment. "These will only fit you in your larger form though," he said.

"Oh!" She blinked and pulled at the twine until it was opened, curiousity getting the better of her patience once again. She soon had it all opened and grabbed the edge of the top item, the fedora. Wings moving till they were a blur, she slowly lefted herself and the hat off his lap. She got the fedora a few inches off before she gave up and fell in a little undamaged pile, on his lap, under the fedora. "I think your right, about the size Matasoga.." Came her muffled voice before she managed to lift it over her head, to look up at him again.

He laughed, for the first time since she left. Not a long, hearty laugh, but a chuckle, after what he'd been through, was not to be minimized. What a bit of serendipity it was to find her after all of his suffering. She truly was a delight, and a deep breath of fresh air. Of course he always wanted to keep safe those about whom he cared deeply, but he wasn't by nature the protective person. He made friends of strangers and minions of friends and it is widely known that minions are to protect you, and the level of reciprocity provided is at the discretion of the master. It was simply his nature to act as such. Something about how cute, delicate, and childlike she was, however, made him continue not to think about what strategic use she may be of to him. Rather he simply wanted to keep her warm, comfortable, and safe. He chuckled remembering the pets he'd had before he obtained his familiar Apep and he admitted his feelings for her were similar to that of a pet, but warmer. As if on cue, Apep slithered out of his sleeve and looked at Leiko. "Don't be afraid," Matasoga said to her. "He is intelligent and can sense my feelings. He knows that you are not to be harmed in any way," he explained as he stroked the small viper's head.
