He moved over quickly to the site and crouched down next to Kay, where she pointed something that did in fact break the surface. It was like something from a fantasy movie. The walls pulsated with the eerie blue substance, causing the water to glisten and almost glow. Breaking the surface was a long and very large row of metallic spines, that swam in a seemingly endless circle, occasionally disappearing from few as the owner dived into the cool spring water.
"hmm..." he uttered as he strained his eyes for the returning spines, soon seeing them break the surface once more along with two large protrusions that looked...like they were car windows. "That can't be Shadow already?" he murmured surprised as he strained to see a head or the ever familiar scythe tip

"You think?" Quietly she spoke, watching the water with a scrutinizing gaze. Why didn't the large beast say anything when he came in, instead of coming in by such unconditional means and scaring the hell out of them in the process? Aside from jumping in or just sitting here hoping that the mechanical fox would come out of the water and notice them; she couldn't think of much other courses of action other than one obvious one.
"Shadow? Is that you?" She called out in a medium tone, at least convinced that it wasn't in fact the beast from the beach as she was sure they would have been dead and the medabot destroyed. Looking to Banes she gave a small shrug of her shoulders, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

He watched the things dive into the water, this time not resurfacing for a while "Um...No..I'm not sure at all" he chuckled weakly, straining his eyes once more, trying to see past the eerie glow of the water. Then it seemed that something dark and purplish was overpowering the ominous blue glow. It was only for a moment and he only noticed it because he was looking so hard.
Then, at seemingly her call, the top half of an oddly shaped head appeared, and a puff of stale air rose from 2 holes in the shapes head, much like a whale coming to the surface for air. It was only a few moments later that the object appeared to be a head as two glowing red eyes pinpointed on Kay and himself. "Yeah...that's Shadow"

"Well that was an easier mystery to solve...." Chuckling gently she shifted to sit on the ledge for a moment, giving a small wave to the robot giving them the look down. "Hello again, Shadow." She wasn't sure if he bothered to remember her...or well she supposed it would be in his memory banks or something....or....well she just wasn't sure. She hadn't forgotten him, and at least was a bit thankful she was positive that this meeting wouldn't be like their last.
"I'm just glad it wasn't something else, like related to that creature." Feeling the pounding of her anxious heart slowly return to its rhythmical beating, she tossed a smile Bane's way. "Well....what was on today's agenda now that he's here? Are we going to risk going back to the rocks....?" Although she wasn't really comfortable with heading back...she knew they had a job to do; and of course she had said she would help out.

Sighing in relief as the large beast that pulled itself out of the water was in fact Shadow, he moved aside to let the giant crawl up to their level. "Hello shadow...enjoying a nice swim in the radio active water?" he remarked half between joking and half between serious.
He paused to look over to Kay. "Well do you want to go out today? If that monster comes back, this big lug will be around" he gestured to the sluggish moving robot as it staggered past the two, recalibrating it's gears to support it's weight
"You have a very serious Phazon spread here." he suddenly spoke as the gears finally caught up and he suddenly had a spring to his steps, which were now used to face the two tiny foxes

Thank goodness he's a robot... She thought for a moment as she watched from her seated position as the beast of a robot climbed out of the water. Her eyes lingered on the rather beautiful but deadly coloration of the water and let a smile linger on her lips; always fascinated on that dual aspect that danger could hold beauty.
Snapping out of her daze though when she was spoken to, she tilted her head to look to Banes with a moment more of thought before replying. "Well, is it nice out there, Shadow?" She directed towards the robot before continuing, "If it is we might as well, who knows if we'll have any more bouts of bad weather..." Kay watched the robot suddenly pick up his movements, wondering absently if he would be enough for the demon of the sea. Surely head on would be no contest but that thing had speed, and she already saw what it had done to the other robot.
"I'm up for whatever you two decide." She gave a thumbs up, knowing she didn't want to be far from either of them.

Listening to Kay for a moment, he couldn't help but pick up what the alien robot said. Granted he didn't catch it, but he certainly didn't decide to make note of it. "I think it's supposed to be clear today" he replied to Kay's remark before standing up with lantern in hand.
"Come on..let's go get ready" he said as he gestured for Kay to follow. "Shadow if you could meet us on the beach....without trailing through the house...I would appreciate that" he asked politely before heading back towards the basement door
Seemingly ignored he shrugged and crawled back down the pit, easily touching the radioactive walls with no threat and sliding into the water, disappearing from sight soon after

"Well, then away we go!" Kay spoke with a chipper tone, trying to quell the worries inside to little avail. Standing from her sitting position she carefully made her way away from the wall and followed Banes up to the tunnel. "He must have been walking this entire time to make it here so fast, hmm?" She commented after the robotic beast vanished from sight back into the water; soon paying her complete attention to the slope of a climb back to the cabin.
"Well....I was wondering, Banes.....what's the new plan of attack? I mean we've seen what I'm pretty sure killed those other foxes....so its not like we really need to look for clues like that...are we going to try and catch it or something?" Slowing her pace as she felt her paws slide a little once hitting the iffy part of the path, her paws once more found the walls a rather good support and balance tool to keep her on her paws.

He started up the slope, watching Kay carefully as he did. Some how he just knew he'd end up slipping and falling, but to his surprise he didn't. "I would suppose so. Although it's not like he can't run." he commented as he opened the door, waiting for her to pass before going inside himself.
"We still have to search for clues. Unfortunately, as much as fingers are pointing to that thing, we have no physical proof that it killed the others" he nodded, leaning on a door way before stepping lightly into his room and grabbing things for his uniform not looking forward to the dance that he was likely to start by changing in the small bathroom. "I mean..for all we know..something else could have been out here. We don't know until we hard evidence. Once we do though, then we can make a case and figure out how to get rid of this thing...if that's at all possible"

"I guess so....I guess I just thought it would be more risky for him to from his....well..." Age, to be exact, since she remember Banes saying he wasn't no spring chicken. Somewhat thankful that he chose to walk infront of her, she made her way up the slope and finally out the door and into the hall. With paws back on the hard wood, she turned and made sure Banes also made it back through the door this time too.
"I see...." To say the least it was a bit disheartening, yet she knew that's just how the justice system worked. "Well....I guess we look hard for the clues today!" Smiling to her companion, she shut the door lightly behind her as she moved about her room to get everything ready. Doning a bathing suit first and foremost since they were going to be near water as well as the spouts along the rocky ledge, she returned into her capris since she found them easiest to run in. A tee shirt followed this time, breathable since the boys said it was nice out. Looking to the body armor and rifle she was given, she gave out a little sigh, never having expected she'd have to wear it at all in her lifetime. "Different times, I suppose." She spoke softly to herself and donned the plating she was given, making sure it was snug against her body.
Picking up the rifle, she looked at its barrel before putting it over her shoulder by the strap; grabbing some of the ammunition to put into her pocket since she wasn't sure if Banes still had them in his bag from yesterday - or if he had any at all. Exiting from her room, she headed to the living room to wait for him there as she looked out the window in a thoughtful silence.

"Sadly it's all we can do....Legally we can't act without proof to do so...Even though I think there is plenty of proof lying in that bed" he scowled as he gestured to the door. He walked in to see the little robot had still not moved, but was mumbling something in his sleep. Banes would have listened, but felt pressed for time and grabbed his equipment before making his way to the bathroom, where he would dance around to get everything on in the small space
After several minutes, he finally walked out, with hair fixed, full uniform on, and gear ready. "Well...let's hit that crime scene again. Let's hope the hired help will keep that monster at bay." he gulped as he opened the door, looking at the first stairs leading off the porch. "Got you're ammo on hand?" he quickly asked, trying to bide some time while he put his nerves in check

Thinking about the current resident of Banes' bed, the vixen could only wonder in what condition would they have been in if that medabot didn't take either of their places. Folding her ears back as she knew they'd be but yet another count of murder no less; if found.
"How depressing..." She sighed, making a small fist with her paw and bonking herself lightly on the forehead before she turned to see Banes head down the hall. Putting on a smile, as she noticed just how dashing he looked in full uniform since the prior day was filled will too much excitement she gave him a thumbs up. "Yeah, I grabbed some." Was the reply as she followed him to the door and out, hearing the distant sounds of the ocean from there. She had noticed how quickly he seemed to spit out that last question and laid a paw on his shoulder. "It'll be okay; I have a good feeling about today." Kay offered with a bright smile despite her own insecurities, and glided down the stairs.
Walking a few steps down the trail, she looked around and couldn't see Shadow anywhere. "Is Shadow meeting us at the beach? I don't see him."

"With depression and sacrifice comes happiness to someone...remember that Kay." he said with a nod. He was not the type to get philosophical often, but there was a time and place for everything.
He nodded as she had answered his question, and turned to face the ocean once more, soon feeling a paw placed on his shoulder with comforting words to follow. "You may have a good feeling, but I don't..." he said with an expression of unnerving tension. Normally fearless, he wouldn't have half a heart to consider his life above others, but he wasn't brash and stupid all the time. He knew his limitations, and frankly giant sea monster was one of them. Still he summoned up that bravado even though with every word he could feel the structure of his own voice crack.
"I don't know. I told him to meet us out front." he took a few steps forward and glanced around before shrugging. "Perhaps he is just waiting on the beach." he said with hesitancy and started forward.

Looking back to give him a raised brow, she thought it was kind of a funny thing to say to someone; yet figured now wasn't the time to ask for what he meant.
Once caught up, the vixen began down the trail as she put her fears aside and tried to adopt a business facade to keep her strong. "Well....if I have a good feeling, and you have a bad one, it'll meet at Okay, and that's still better than a negative!" Musing to herself, she could see the vast ocean and all its beauty....even more beautiful now that she couldn't see anything glowing.
"I sure hope so..." Her voice toned down, without Shadow, they would really be in for trouble with that medabot out of commission too. "Or I might just have to side with you on that bad feeling notion."

He shook his head and only managed a grin. It was a good thing somebody was positive about this whole matter, even though it was fairly bleak.
About to say something, his words were cut off by the sounds of what sounded like dinosaurs clashing...not that he would know that would sound like, but certainly there was something going on up ahead. He felt the adrenaline snap in and almost immediately he went from scardy cat to fearless. He crouched down and walked carefully to the edge of the treeline, with weapon drawn in case things got ugly.
As he got to the beginnings of the beach, he stopped and crouched behind a bush, motioning for Kay to keep her head down. He peered through the bush and already saw their hired guns was being put to us as the two equally sized brutes were in a death match that tore up the beach. It was hard to tell who was winning, but Banes had no doubt in his mind that alien metal prevailed over flesh...that was until he saw the opposition was now sporting armor as well. "Well this can't be good...." he whispered, mostly to himself
