You think you have the answer...

Rubble. The word echoed throughout her mind as if nothing else existed. Vaguely, she felt Chris hug her but her mind didn't register it. Her mind was still trying to process what they had just heard. To her, there was no way Stardust could ever get hurt-not seriously anyway. Her body let itself be led by Chris to the Pokemon Center.

The two made their way through the crowd that had gathered at the Pokemon Center-for one reason or another. Robyn finally snapped back to herself. Her eyes searched the crowd for any sign of her Pokemon. There, her eyes landed on Ryuken. Stardust had been with the Lucario the last her trainer had known. The Vulpix wasn't with him now.

She bit her lower lip in worry. This wasn't right. Where was she? A passing nurse drew Robyn's attention. Although she wanted to see how Ryuken was, her worry for her own Pokemon won. She'd leave the Lucario to Chris. "Excuse. I know you're busy but-" She stopped herself and forced a deep breath into her lungs. "There hasn't been a Vulpix brought in has there?"

The pity Robyn saw in the woman's eyes nearly torn Robyn apart. She forced herself to avert her gaze. "There was one, the poor dear. Are you her trainer?" Robyn nodded, she didn't trust her voice at this point. "Please follow me."

The nurse led her to an empty corridor. A few seats lined the wall. "You see, your Vulpix suffered severe damage from...two earthquake attacks, I believe, and being crushed by debris. She has several broken bones throughout her body. We've set them and there's no threat to her life-not anymore-but we wanna keep her under observation for an hour or too."

Robyn nodded her understanding. Tears had started to flow from her eyes sometime during the conversation. She was glad that her friend's life wasn't in danger. "This also means she can't participate in any of the events. You understand right?" "Yeah," came Robyn's reply, her voice quiet. "Can I visit her?" The nodded and led Robyn to a room.

"I can only give you a few minutes. Ok?" The teen nodded and headed straight for the bed containing Stardust. The Vulpix sides moved with each breath-proving she was alive. The sight of the bandages on the fire Pokemon was painful to her trainer. Gently, Robyn touched the Vulpix. Stardust opened one of her eyes and stared lazily at the girl. "Vul, vulpix vul," she complained. A giggle escaped Robyn. "Well excuse me for disturbing your sleep, princess."

The Vulpix flicked her tail lightly at Robyn. The nurse motioned for her to finish-it was time for them to leave."You focus on getting better and don't worry about me, alright." She exited the room with a final glance at Stardust. "Pix, vulvul vulpix," the Vulpix voiced as the door closed. Robyn shook her head with a smile and went to find Chris and Ryuken.

...I laugh and watch you fall.

Nakamura right in front of the crowd heard the man say the OTHER lucario and immediately thought, Was Masato the cause of this? Running to the pokemon center he thought about Masato and their good times together.

Masato

"Listen, i understand your mad, but i only know her because i battled her in the sinnoh finals. Nothing happened. I expect our trainers have probably heard about the commotion at the contest hall and are no doubt wondering where we are. Masato is probably running here at this very moment if i know him correctly. As for your trainer, sorry but i never heard you say his name. Could you please tell me?" Masato said to the angered Lucario having finished mending his eye.

Chris & Ryuken
Location: Pokemon Center

Ryuken glared at the other Lucario, he was trying to be friendly. The other Lucario probably just felt some sort of kinship with him, both being of the same species. But, at this time at least, Ryuken couldn't see himself being friendly back. He chose to not speak, he was to angry. With that, he released his glare on the other Lucario. Looking about the crowd, he noticed Chris and Robyn both approaching. After a moment of speaking with a nurse, Robyn was led to the back where Stardust had been taken, while Chris made his way over to Ryuken. There were several Pokemon being treated for minor injurys, but Stardust's injurys seemed to be far worse.

Chris watched as Robyn followed the nurse through the doorway to the back room, he wanted to go as well. But he figured that he should check up with his Pokemon, find out what happened. He quickly rushed up to the Lucario. "Ryu, what happened?" He looked at the healed gash on his head. The Lucario couldn't even look up at his friend, he was to ashamed. "Chris...It' my fault..." The young man was shocked, "What!? How?" Ryuken grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to the corner, trying to find privacy. He managed to look up at his trainer when they were away from most of the crowd. Chris was shocked to see what appeared to be tears forming in the Pokemon's eyes. He had known Ryuken for all of the Pokemon's life, and not once did he recall ever seeing him cry. Ryuken slowly began to relate the recent events to Chris.

As he finished his explanation, Chris stood in shock. He had no idea that his friend's feelings for Buns had been so strong, but he was also frustrated by his actions. He began what was intended to be a scolding, "Ryuken, listen. Sometimes, your feelings can make you do crazy things. We have to learn to control our instincts. Even if your not the one that destroyed the contest hall, you still..." Ryuken cut him off, talking a bit louder and more forceful than he had before. "...I'm the cause of it! I didn't think about what I was doing. Now Stardust is injuried! And it's my fault!" He turned his head to the door that Robyn had went through a few moments earlier. "I think I'm gonna go check on her." The Lucario pushed his way through the door and headed down the hall. Chris was ready to stop him, but decided to let him go when he saw Robyn exiting the same door. He walked over to her, "You seem rather happy, guess that means she's doing okay?"

Ryuken had followed the Vulpix's aura to the door of her room. He was stopped there by the same nurse he spoke to earlier, insisting he return to his trainer. "Please, may I speak to her for just a moment?"Ryuken begged, the nurse reluctantly agreed. The Lucario slowly stepped into the room, "Stardust, I just want to say I'm sorry." He was looking down at the floor, to scared to look at her. "I was stupid, and I ended up getting you hurt." The Pokemon stepped a little closer to her bed. "I realize now that no matter how I feel about Buns, she's not worth it." He manages to look at her. "Can you forgive me?"

Alfred saw the Island from the sky. "Come on Stratobomber, We're almost there." He called out to his Drifblim. "Blim, blim, blim!" the pokemon chanted enthusiastically. "That took longer than I thought, Next time we should make it to the ship on time." He was still angry at himself for oversleeping. They made it to the ground and saw a large crowd at the pokemon center. "Wow, look at all the people." he pulled out Stratos' pokeball. "Retun, get some rest." drifblim went back into the ball and Alfred walked up to the center. "What's all the commotion about," he asked but was totally ignored. "this is what happens when you show up late." he mumbled and tried again. "Hello can someone heal my pokemon?"

Nakamura & Masato

Nakamura ran into the pokemon center then quickly asked the nurse, "Have you seen a Lucario?". "Actually I have seen TWO Lucario's, Is that yours over there?" The nurse asked while pointing towards masato. Nakamura ran towards Masato without even saying thank you. "How are you not hurt?!" Nakaura asked Masato. "I doctored it here." the lucario replied before walking off towards the two trainers talking. He sat down beside the female and waited for their conversation to finish.

You think you have the answer...

"She's doing as well as to be expected," Robyn responded to Chris. Her smile widened a little. "She even had the nerve to act like she was on vacation at a spa, instead of being seriously hurt. I-i," her voice caught in her throat. No matter how Stardust had acted, Robyn was still worried about her. Plus, the Vulpix had never be far from her trainer when there was an important battle. Even this small distance made the teen fell uneasy and nervous. She could feel tears sting her eyes. Furiously, she wiped them away.

Stardust opened her eyes as Ryuken entered the room. Soon after Robyn had left, the fire type had begun to fall asleep. "You ask if you may talk and don't even wait for the answer," she snapped with a laugh in the language only Pokemon spoke. Even though it brought her pain, Stardust laughed. "You acted based on your feelings. There's no need to apologize for that. Quite a bit of us do that. I shouldn't have butt in but-" She dragged in a painful breath, her eyes closing. The medicine in her system was demanding her to sleep. "I butted in because I don't like to see those I consider my family hurt. Like it or not, you're part of my family."

Sleep was close now. Stardust could feel dreams beckoning her but she couldn't fall asleep. Not yet. "It's kinda sad. I was looking forward to the competition," her voice started strong but slowly became slurred with sleep. "Will you watch over Robyn till I get back on my paws? She tends to get in a lot of trouble. Of course, watching over your own trainer comes first."

...I laugh and watch you fall.

Arcanas

Location: Ortus Isle, ruined contest hall

Arcanas looked up and saw that those who weren't caught in the twin Earthquake had helped those who weren't so lucky. That made him glad. He wasn't sure how people were going to react to his rash decision, but if someone was going to be taking the blame, he had no qualms doing so.

He did however worry about that Vulpix of that girl that Chris was so into...she got shaken up pretty bad, as she was right in the middle of the crossing shockwaves. I think I should go and see how everything is... The nurses at the Pokemon Centre probably have their hands quite full

He left his pokemon to continue what they were doing, and made his way to the Pokemon Centre. As he stepped into the sunlight, he lit another cigarette. This place is going to be the death of me...heh He took a drag and continued walking.

A few minutes later, he was right about his assumption of chaos... He waited, and finished his cigarette, before making his way through the phalanx of people blocking his way in, and violating just about every fire code ever written.

After what seemed like ages, he made his way past the crowd and saw Chris standing there...with that girl. He still didn't get a chance to learn her name...oh well. He approached the couple and they finished their conversation.

"Hey you two. Are you both alright?"

Zach Strife - Chapter Two

As Zach and Collider walked past the Pokecenter, he happened to notice a couple of the individuals involved with the incident at the contest walking in. He motioned for Collider to stop. "Hmm... that was the guy who did the double Earthquake, and that guy must be the trainer for one of those Lucario."

"Meta?"

"I think we should investigate, Collider."

"Meta."

"Unfortunately, you wouldn't be the best for a discreet operation. I think I'll take Lasher out for this one."

Collider nodded in agreement. Zach hopped off his companion and returned him to his ball. Afterward, he opened another ball, revealing his Breloom, Lasher. "Alright buddy, some of those trainers in that Pokecenter were responsible for the incident at the Contest Hall. I need you to be my second pair of eyes, just in case something goes wrong here. Got it?"

"Breloom!" Lasher said, saluting Zach. The two made their way into the Pokemon Center.

When they got in, they noticed the large crowd of people, clearly from the Contest Hall. Zach looked around for a minute until he noticed some of the familiar faces of his targets. He slowly made his way through the crowds until he got close enough to eavesdrop on their conversations. Lasher stood to his left, looking around through the crowds.

Alfred made his way to the counter. "Excuse me, Nurse?" he called out. "Hey, What's going on here? Where's the tournament being held? Hello!" he was beginning to get frustrated. "What's going on? It looks like a natural disaster zone or something."

Chris & Ryuken
Location: Pokemon Center

The Lucario stared at the Vulpix as she struggled to speak through her drowzieness. No matter how she tried to hide it, she looked so weak and helpless. Never in his life had he felt more guilty for his actions. Though in many ways, her words had made him feel a bit better. She had called him family, he wasn't sure how to take that. The only one he had ever considered family was Chris, having been raised by him from birth. Though, he saw his trainer more as a brother than a father figure. But that was still family. He then dove a bit deeper into the idea. What kind of family did she mean? Does she just consider me family because of our trainers? Or is it more of a sibling friendship? Or is it...no, never mind. That can't be it, why would I ever think that?

"Thanks for rushing out there, at first I was a bit mad at you for doing that. But then when you shot that Fire Blast, I realized that you were risking injury for me. So I thank you. And don't worry, I'll fight extra hard in the tournament for you, it's the least I can do." He watched her eyes slowly shut as she slurred out her words. "I'll watch over Robyn, as will Chris. Don't worry about her, just get some rest." He turns and walks to the doorway of the room, pausing in the doorway to look back at the now sleeping Stardust. Even behind that pain she was still the same Pokemon, how could something so peaceful and cute be so feirce and tough?

Chris hugged Robyn, all the while reassuring her that everything would turn out fine. After a moment or two the young man released his hold and began explaining the events to her, making sure to emphasize how upset Ryuken was. After all, this was the most upset he'd ever seen him.

As she finished her responding statements, Chris noticed Arcanas aproaching. Then, mere seconds later, Ryuken came from the door to the back rooms. "Arcanas" Both Chris and Ryuken spoke at once, Ryuken sounding much less friendly than his trainer. Chris looked about the room, the four of them were being watched by nearly everyone in the building. Then again, who could blame them. Standing in one group was the Lucario who had started the ordeal, his trainer whom was nowhere nearby to control him, the man whose Pokemon had utterly destroyed the contest hall, and the girl whos poor Vulpix had been crushed in the destruction. Chris looked between the three. "I hate to leave Stardust, but I think it's best if we get out of here. We can find a less crowded place to talk." Ryuken looked up at him, "Agreed".

Arcanas looked and saw quite a few glares of contempt pointed in his and Chris' direction "I think that is one of the best ideas I've heard all day."

Arcanas started to move past the crowd again, looking back to make sure the happy couple was following.

Outside, Zelgius and Sharptooth had finished with their task and waited patiently for Arcanas. Very rarely did they have a chance to talk, but with recent events, they felt like they needed to discuss a few things. The great Aerodactyl turned towards the Garchomp, uttering a series of different pitched screeches and growls, wondering what in the world was going on with this place.

The Garchomp leaned back on his tail and growled his response, knowing even less than his older partner. They were both at a loss, but it seems that they both agreed that the Lucario, Ryuken knew something.

You think you have the answer...

With Ryuken's promise, Stardust finally allowed herself to fall asleep-wishing she didn't have to stay in here. With what the Lucario had said earlier-before the contest-she was sure something might happen. I'll just have to try and get better as fast as I can. Be safe till then.

It was comforting when Chris held Robyn. Almost like she could forget what had happened. She listened as he explained what had happened. Slowly, the female trainer shook her head in disbelief. Of course Stardust would do something like that. She's always been a little overprotective.

As the trainer who battled the Corphish and Crawdaunt earlier approached them, so did Ryuken. Chris and his Lucario addressed Arcanas. She nodded her head slightly at the trainer in greeting-her mind still in a shocked state over her Pokemon. She hadn't even notice all the looks the group was receiving. Robyn followed the others out.

...I laugh and watch you fall.

"Bah," Alfred grabbed two pokeballs. "let go, Big Bad, Zen Master, we'll find a shop so I can heal you myself." He called out his Ryhperior and Medicham. The two pokemon stood at Alfreds left and right, both had their arms crossed over their chest, staying alert. "Calm down guys. I just wanted you to stretch your legs that's all. I don't want you takling anyone that get's too close, got it?" Alfred told them. The two just looked at him, then to each other and noded. "Good, let's move out."

Zach Strife

Zach remained in his spot, watching as the others walked out of the Pokemon Center. Once they were outside, he turned to Lasher. "Do you think they found us out?"

"Breloom," Lasher replied, shrugging his shoulders.

Zach looked around for a moment. "We need to keep following them, just in case something else happens. We just need to navigate our way back outside without rousing any suspicion."

Zach and Lasher started squeezing back through the crowds towards the exit, when Zach bumped into a rather large trainer, almost knocking himself onto the floor. He regained his composure and looked up at the man he ran into. "Sorry bout that buddy. Pretty crowded in here."

The large man turned his head towards Zach, a sinister look adorning his face. "You should watch where you're going, little man."

"Whoa, I said I was sorry. No need to fly off the handle."

"I have had a very bad day, and I don't need a little s**t like you making that day worse. It might be crowded in here, but I'll still pound the crap out of you and your Pokemon!"

Zach looked at Lasher, and then the two bolted towards the door, almost diving outside. As they ran outside, the large man stepped out of the Center, tossing a Pokeball into the air. In a flash of light, a massive Steelix appeared. The creature roared at Zach and Lasher, who both stared up at it. The two then looked at each other and smirked. This made the large man even angrier. "That's it! Steelix, Iron Tail!"

The Steelix raised his massive tail into the air, the steel coating gleaming in the sunlight. As the tail came crashing down, both Zach and Lasher dove out of the way, narrowly avoiding it. Zach looked over at his partner. "Lasher, Spore!"

Lasher's head began to glow, as yellow powder shot out of it, covering the Steelix's head. Instantly, the great beast fell to the ground, snoring. Lasher then began focusing, his right fist glowing. The large trainer began frantically looking through his pockets. "I better have an Awakening in here somewhere..."

"Don't bother. Lasher, Focus Punch!"

Lasher leaped into the air and brought his fist down onto the head of the sleeping Steelix. The impact created a small crater around the head, further implying that the metal snake was finished. As Lasher hopped back towards Zach, the other trainer fell to his knees, reaching for his Pokeball. Zach dusted himself off. "We don't need any more property destruction today, buck-o. This crater was more than I wanted to do anyway."

Alfred walked out in time to see what happend. O_O "Holy Crap! That was awesome." He walked over to the trainer with the Breloom, followed by Big Bad and Zen Master. "Hey pal, that was great, you sure put him in his place. You must bee some trainer. That Breloom of yours look powerful." Alfred rarely got a chance to talk to other trainer, most of the time they avoided him because they thought he was strange. "Sorry, forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alfred Ross Knight. Nice to meet ya...um." He paused to let the other trainer speak.
