"I'm a Shinigami now so technically I'm already dead... somewhat. Just not all the way dead." She didn't try to stop him from taking back the cigarette as the smoke plumed out her mouth. It really wouldn't be good if she ended up fully dead anyway.
"I don't know much about sake, so I just found the most expensive one they had at the rice market. I was guaranteed it was of the highest quality," she admits thoughtfully. Sy had always been more of the brandy sort, really.

"...Shinigami..a soul reaper..?" Ieyasu paused, the cigarette steadily burning into a column of ash. After a moment, he turned his head to the side, grinning. "You seem to get about, at any rate."
As she spoke about the sake, Ieyasu nodded before replying. "I'm sure it's great. We could try some, if you like."
Glancing down at the cigarette again, he grimaced faintly. Most of it had burned down. He flicked the ash away before lifting what was left of it for another draw.

"What's THAT supposed to mean?" Had he just called her a whore or something?! The nerve of men these days. She stood and looked indignant, giving him a sort of only half-hearted glare.
"Well, now you almost owe me a drink... but I've never really had sake. I tend to stick to brandy... that's a bit weird coming from a hanyou, isn't it? We're native of Japan, so we ought to drink sake more, but...." Realizing she was rambling again she sat back down as abruptly as she had stood up indignant. Evidently her faux hissy fits didn't last too long.

At Syrenrei's outburst, Ieyasu stared at her briefly before grinding out his cigarette. What had he said now!? "I didn't mean anything by it. From what you said, I take it you weren't a soul reaper before. But it looked like you'd gotten yourself into a hell of a fight a few days ago.
What I meant was that you seem to lead an interesting life."
He stood up, turning to go into the house. "I'll be back in a minute. I should go check on Osu too - he fell asleep inside earlier. Heading inside, Ieyasu disappeared for a few moments, leaving the door still wide open.

She shook her head at herself and leaned back on the porch steps and stared up at the sky. Even if the stairs were a less than pleasant place to lay, she was tired enough from her day that burning coals would have been a suitable enough bed. He'd probably take his time, and if he had any sense, wait until she was gone to re-emerge.
Lazily she wondered what the other kitsune was doing... probably enjoying having some peace and quiet around the center, that was for sure.

Nyxa opened the front door of her village home, peering around with a quick twitch of her tail. Stretching, she yawned and toddled back inside to grab a pair of slippers and a sweater.
Meanwhile, Luc took advantage of the open door and wandered outside. He took a stroll around the perimeter of the home, whuffing quietly as he caught movement at one of the other homes.

Instead of heading straight for the bottle of sake, Ieyasu instead went to check on his gryphon charge. Osu wasn't old enough yet to make his way safely up and down the ladder into the loft, so Ieyasu had brought down a blanket for him. He lay on top of the blanket still, stretched out as far as he could. One of his paws twitched momentarily.
Ieyasu grinned, wondering if the little Aerandir was dreaming. Turning, he headed into the kitchen area behind the screen. Using the now-empty basket that Syrenrei had given him, he set the bottle of sake and the new black, orange and white sake set inside. He could use that to ferry everything outside.
Lifting the basket, he headed back outside to where Syrenrei was.

She stretched her head back and looked up at him upside down with a puzzled expression as he came back. So soon? Perhaps he hadn't just gone inside to get rid of her. O_o Staring at him upside down she spoke, "What's that?"
Sitting up would simply require too much effort and like a lazy cat she relished letting her body soak in what was left of the setting sun. Her hair was starting to try and lay in a tangled mess under her head, absorbing the dirt on the steps on the stairs and undoubtably going to force her to bathe again later.

Glancing at Syrenrei lazing all over his porch, he indicated the basket. "This? This is the basket you gave me earlier. Just used to to take everything out at once."
Setting the basket down, he sat down beside it, opening the basket and beginning to set the contents out. "One bottle of sake... and one sake set. Do we need anything else?" He grinned at the hanyou-turned-shinigami.

Stepping back outside, Nyxa, too, caught sight of the two who were sitting on the front porch of a nearby village home. Ahhh, civilization. Figuring she should wander over and introduce herself, Nyxa straightened the small sweater she wore and lazily wandered over to the new faces. As she drew closer, a small hand lifted in a wave, her cheery, "Helloooo!" carrying across the otherwise calm housing area.
Luc followed Nyxa, intent on what was going on. Neckfeathers ruffled slightly as he padded along behind his guardian, tailtip flicking in interest.

"I bet if we had more, I could outdrink you with a drinking contest... but by virtue of what we are, I'm afraid this won't be enough to get us drunk." Stretching her limbs before she sat up, she joined him on the top step and folded her legs underneath her like she was a fine lady of Japan, but in truth this was just done so she wasn't giving him a free show with a skirt on.
"I'll take anything you're willing to offer me, youkai." She grinned and looked him in the eye with a challenging look, as if daring him to meet her offer.

Ieyasu grinned, a roguish look suddenly appearing on his face. She wanted a challenge, did she? "Oh, you're asking me to name a drink, are you? I have plenty more, and harder drinks at that."
Then, Nyxa's call reached him. Looking up and around himself curiously, he then saw a girl that he didn't recognise. She looked like she was waving too. There were still so many people here that he hadn't met yet, from the number of houses that looked occupied. Raising his hand in a responding wave, Ieyasu stood up again, staring over the area to the woman. There was something else with her too, moving along low, near the ground. He couldn't make out what it was, just that it was moving.

"Is that so...?" She saw Nyxa and had a vague recollection of seeing the woman in a centre but shrugged mentally. Then again, most of the time she was in the center she wasn't in her right mind, so she could easily be mistaken. The more the merrier to see her sound defeat of the youkai in a drinking contest. She too waved to Nyxa.
"If you're sure... I don't want to embarass you. To have a half-breed woman outdrink you would be humiliating, I would think." She tried her best to keep a straight face and not burst out in a series of childish giggles.

Rahujo wandered cheerfully out of the front gate of the forge, carrying a small bundle by her side. A scroll of rough paper poked out of the bundle, wobbling from side to side as she walked - plans for Fae's fireplace. She needed to see Alyosha about some materials, and possibly to do a little inspection of that massive stove of his. The cobblestones of the village street were pleasantly warm from the sun, and rough under her bare, calloused feet as she headed towards the centre.
Part-way there, she spied a figure further up the street. She squinted, and recognised her as one of the guardians she'd met before. A small shape followed in her footsteps. A gryphon Aerandir?
Curious, having not seen anyone other than Fae and Foenix for about a week, she headed in Nyxa's direction.

Nyxa grinned at the duo and tilted her head in curiousity. Her bristly tail curled around her thigh when she stopped, silver eyes glittering unnaturally. "I was beginning to think I was the only one alive on the island." She eyed Ieyasu and Syrenrei, cheeks tinging the slightest pink, "I hope I'm not intruding on anything. I just saw people and came running."
Luc sat on his haunches and treated each of the strangers to an inscrutiable look. With a bored huff he turned his attention back to Nyxa, wings lazily stretching the slightest.
