Ah... You know you're a band nerd when
-you read every post on this thread and love every one (just did! XD)
-the entire band can party boy down the street when marching (we do this too! XD)
-you go to band class even when you hate your director
-your entire french horn section prints out pictures of Karl L. King to deface and plan to dance on his grave because of all those hated afterbeats! (Did this one too. ;>_>)
My french horn's name is Pierre. He sucks the souls from little children. XD

Goddess of Glomps When you have to pass someone when you are walking because the music you hear, you're walking to the beat, but they aren't. This just happened yesterday. a marching band was preforming at the peir our band trip group was at and we were ALL walking (not marching thank god) to the beat and we had to pass EVERY single person but the band itself. lol

You know your a band geek when your oboe tries to be suicidal and you yell at it...
Or you automatically count beats of songs off the radio...(I do both)

When you skip class to help the BD with organizing music and other stuff. mrgreen When you practically kill someone for touching your instrument and taking it apart. (my friends tend to leave my clarinet alone now...)

When you're actually excited for graduation rehearsal because that means you have band twice that day.
When you don't mind waking up at 6, being at the school at 7, and setting up for graduation starting at 8. Every year. In the baking June sun in concert uniforms.
Retrospectively, I love it.

~~when you've memorized all the band camp jokes from american pie
~~when you yell at your instrument and call it a hoar in front of the entire band class because you swore you left your clarinet across the room but find it right next to your best friends trombone.... sweatdrop
~~when you find the beat to songs and pick apart the instrumental parts and pay no attention to the lyrics
~~when you have trained yourself to use your instrument as a ninja weapon
~~when you ductape your clarinet case in various colors because she needed a more colorful home
~~when you also name the case of your instrument as well as the instrument itself.... ((my clarinet's name is clarice and its case's name is cassie))

You know when you're a band nerd when-
1.) you download band music on your mp3 player.
2.) getting too excited for a brand new metronome.
3.) Leaving classes to go to the band hall whenever you can.
I had a teacher (well he was actually a coach) who told me that I must say "Football is better than band" or else I can't leave.. here's what I did... I said it, but once I left the room, I said out loud "NOT!" and walked really fast to the band hall before I was dragged back in class. Another coach gave me the option- 15 push up (For other people, that's alot) or I don't leave. I "accidently" did 25 to show him that I don't care whether it's 1 puch up or 100, I will make it!
Then another reason why I know I am a band geek, is because my friends and I start a normal conversation about it and not hesitate about it no matter who hears.
My band has a pledge to say, we say it whenever we accomplish something... then it gets stuck in your head, and by starting to say the beginning of it, others join in, it's amazing!!
One more- when someone you believe is good looking, hot, sexy, cute, and/or fine are playing an instrument no matter what it is, you focus on their playing not their looks... then you would start telling them things on how they can be better, or astonished if they did really great. Looks come after music playing to a band nerd!

-When you fail other classes because you skip to go to band.
-When you turn down a field trip to stay with your band director.
-When you started believe that the auto-tune was a conspiracy against all of the musically inclined.
-When people start calling you by your instrument name rather than your own.
-When you actually start responding to that name.
-When you get confused when people call you by your real name shortly after.
