Cheeva stared at Des' back. H-he'd stepped between her and Corvin. The fool hadn't taken the kiss seriously, had he? She growled deep in her throat. Well this was just perfect. Crouching, Cheeva grabbed the dropped knife. Sh lead close to Des, gently prodng him in theback, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Good thinking. You can be my meat shield. Just get me close enough to stab the b*****d. Don't worry, your memory will live on..." she paused, tryig to think of something comforting. "I'm sure someone, somewhere, remembers you favourably an will mourn your loss."
[[I'm pretty sure Chee is still unaware that Des is immortal sweatdrop ]]

Atra watched, standing in between the group and Corvin, unintentionally. He was just watching them fight and moved to the side a bit.
Abdiel took the chance to summon his red sword from the invisible energy string it had been. The blade appeared in his cold hand, with symbols in another language all over it. "I really hate red haired immortals." He lunged at Des and Cheeva, very quickly.
The monsters and creatures began rampaging the grounds, and swarming over to the group that was still battling.
Atra watched them walk past him, "I am a b***h to something, but not boredom... what that is, I'll never tell you so don't bother to ask." He shouted to Angela.

"I don't care enough to ask anyway!" Angela shouted back to Aetra. She looked at Aku. "Akutenshi. Do you think you would be able to--reawaken my powers? They've been sort of sleeping ever since I over did things a bit a few days ago. I rather think I need them at the moment though."
**
"Well I really hate creepy, evil bastards," Des retorted, bringing up his own sword to block Abdiel's strike. Flames lanced down his blade. He smiled slightly when their sword struck each other, ringing loudly. "So I guess that makes us even."

The clash of metal rang just above her head. Cheeva dropped to her knees, slashing across the knes of their attacker. She lashed out with the other knife as she stood, stabbing deep into the man's stomach. She twisted the knife deep and slashed up and out, the blade scraping against the attacker's rib bones. Cheeva kicked him hard in the knees as she slipped behind him.

Akutenshi blinked at the compliment Atra had given him, then beamed, obviously pleased with it. He would have replied back, but he didn't want to yell right in Angela's ear. So, he merely watched with interest. This didn't involve him, so he didn't feel obliged to help or fight. When Angela asked him a question, he snapped to attention. "Why, yes, I do believe so! But only temporarily," he told her as he took a step back, moved Angela's hair out of the way, and drew a symbol on her back, pouring his energy into it. For a few seconds, the symbol glowed hotly, eventually cooling back down.
"There, that should do it."

Sighing, Toshi rubbed Inu's back in small circles. "I believe no one is going to tell us. Which, is just as well, seeing as I am unable to be of help anyway," he told Basti without looking up. He could hear fighting in the distance, not too far off. As well the sound of something stampeding towards them.

Ky made a barrier using her staff again, to protect Inu and Toshi. She had hoped Abdiel would've gone by now, but he seemed intent on eating somebody.
Abdiel yanked the knife out of himself, before whipping around to find Cheeva. He made an attempt to bit her arm while holding the knife dripping his black blood.
Atra walked over to Corvin, gotten bored enough to do so.

"Well, that's excellent." Funny; the sarcasm was usually Isolda's territory. But no answers left Basti up a creek without the proverbial paddle. Just standing there and doing nothing wasn't doing it for him. And the demonic stampede did not look like something he wanted to let bowl him over. Basti sheathed his knife, deciding to let instinct do the fighting. Careful not to knock Angela or the man she was having some interesting magical dealings with or anyone else in the vicinity over, he spread his wings and shot up into the sky. About a hundred feet up, he turned into a sharp dive, leaving his limbs behind as a streak of white repeatedly dive bombed the encroaching horde, talons and beak flashing.

Angela gasped in surprise with Aku unexpectedly touched her back, flinching away from the feeling of his fingers against her skin and then the feeling of his energy pouring through her.
"T--Tell me before you do something like that," she told him. "Don't just touch my back like that." She gave him a look that was half angry and half sheepish. "Please." But she could feel that her powers had been restored. At least for now. She grinned slightly and then looked at Corvin. "But thank you. If you'll excuse me."
With her powers back, the poison that Abdiel had injected into her was quickly neutralized. She was feeling much better. And in three rapid steps, she was standing next to Corvin. Her fist connected with his face in a shower of white sparks that left the air heavy with the smell of ozone.
She glanced at Aetra. "Sorry if I'm interrupting but I believe I still owe him one."

When Abdiel spun around to attack Cheeva, Des stabbed his sword into the man's back and then ripped it out, quickly darting around him to knock Cheeva away.
He didn't think the sword would do much damage--the man was clearly not a normal enemy and Des doubted he would have turned his back to an armed enemy were Des capable of actually damaging him that way. He just wanted to possibly cause enough pain to distract him momentarily. At least long enough to get Cheeva out of the way.

Cheeva fell to her hands and knees as Des roughly shoved her aside. Cursing, she crawled to her feet, snatching a spare knife from the sheath on her thigh. "What is this, some sort of pissing contest between you and psycho-face here?" Cheeva spat at Des as she stabbed the much slimmer knife at their attacker's chest. If she threw enough weight in, she might just be able to puncture through to his heart.

Abdiel missed his chance at the cat girl, and blasted her off of him with a surge of dark energy. His wounds didn't bleed, and were regenerating slowly. He went for the red headed immortal, slashing with his long sword. He then took a chance to toss the knife in his hand at him. "Where are you from? I'll be going there next to deliver your head."
Atra stepped aside, letting Angela smack Corvin all she wanted to. It was kind of funny to watch.

Cheeva flew to the ground for the second time in as many moments. She got slowly to her feet, coughing and scolwing. It was rather insulting; the man seemed to be making a far more sincere effort to kill Des than he was to kill her. Also, Des was immortal? That was...intriguing. Cheeva wondered, briefly, what would happen to an immortal if you cut off thier head. She was almost tempted to let the strange man try...but Des had saved her from Corvin. That meant, sadly, she "owed him one" as Tamara would say. Cheeva drew a dart from her pouch, flipping a reed from her sleeve. "Who are you?" she shouted, fitting the dart into the pipe. "And why won't you die?" She fit the pipe to her lips and puffed, watching as the tiny feathered thing hit home, burying its tip deep in their attacker's neck.

Des deflected the blow from Abdiel's sword but the knife coated in his blood caught the red head in the shoulder. He bit back a cry as the iron weapon embedded into him and immediately ripped it out, feeling a burning sensation spread from the wound. He assumed that was from the blood--it must be some sort of poison. The iron itself was also contaminating his blood. He cursed under his breath and swayed slightly as his vision blurred.
Not yet. Just a few more moments of fighting was all he needed.
"Arborea," he answered. "I'd like to see you visit there. You'd be dead in about five seconds. If the Ghaele's didn't get to you first, the Tulani would rip you apart before you even realized where you were."
He lunged for Abdiel one last time, knowing this would be his last strike. Fire ignited between his feet and began to twist around him, rapidly gaining speed and intensity before Des flung his hands forward, sending a spiraling vortex of flame straight at Abdiel.
He felt darkness begin to overwhelm him as whatever poison was in Abdiel's blood took effect. To avoid feeling those effects, Des shed his humanoid skin and shifted into the form of a fiery ball that hovered over the spot he'd been standing moments before.
**
Corvin leaped back to his feet, hand to his cheek as he glowered at the girl. "Stubborn fool."
She smiled. "More or less."
He flung an arch of blue magic toward her but Angela knew this was coming and had already dodged, heading toward Atra, who'd moved aside, and the magic streaked past her and disappeared in a shower of impotent sparks.
"So, I pretty much can't defeat this guy in my current state. I just wanted to hit him," she said. "Can't you like...go beat him up for me or something?"
She held her hand out toward Corvin, muttered something under her breath and released an arch of lightning that shot toward him. He deflected it into the sky, taking no damage.

Ky planted her staff, which stood on it's on to hold the barrier, she began gathering power for a spell.
Abdiel snicked and pulled the dart from his neck, he was a walking poison already. "My name's Abdiel, I used to work for your friend Zensekai, long ago... ask him, I'm sure he'll be unhappy to tell you......and I'm afraid dying's out of the question!" His ranting was offguard by the fireball, and let one side of his get scorched before he summoned his black wings to get him out of the way from turning into charcoal. He was really angry, and regenerating would take much longer. To top it off, His son was coming onto the battleground, with a Higher's blue sword in his hand.
"Ky, you better hurry!" Asaiyo yelled in his accent while fending off Abdiel who was flying around and trying to get a chance to dive at Cheeva.
"That's all? Atra shrugged to Angela, and looked around at the monsters. "So... your name was Corey or something right? Well, my sexy lady here wants you dead, so any last words?"

Suddenly, Toshi didn't feel very safe. The stampeding noises were only getting louder. He doubted he'd be able to outrun whatever they were. Not like he'd be able to see where he was going, anyway. Not knowing Ky had placed a barrier around them, Toshi did the only thing he could think of doing. Closing his eyes, he let out a breath. He hadn't really been flying in quite a long while.
Within a moment or two, gray feathered wings poured out of his back fluidly. They had various brown and white stripes, as well as a few darker grays, but were mostly a slate gray. With a burst of movement, he took off into the sky, passing through Ky's barrier soundlessly. Toshi really hated to do this, but... he had no choice. He had to protect Inutai, at all costs, and this was the only way. He hated that.

Akutenshi watched as the fights drew on, intrigued. However, the most interesting thing happened to be the moment where someone, Des, had turned into a fireball. He blinked, staring for a few moments, when he heard a flapping of wings. He glanced overhead to see Toshi hovering above the scene. Akutenshi grinned. He knew it.

Cheeva flung herself backward, falling on her rapidly bruising arse, as Des burst into flames. She stared as he dissolved into a floaing ball of fire. She cracked another smile. "Hey, you not know what, Flame-Head? This is actually an improvement. Now you're useful. I mean, cooking, warmth, really this is a much better look f -" She turned her attention to Abdiel as he ranted, a pair of wings bursting from his back. Cheeva curled in on herself, dragging her cap down, as he took to the air.
The cat rolled out in a spitting ball of fur, dodging back and forth. It kept low to the ground, making the smallest target possible.
