Shizuru glanced at Cassie. She couldn't tell her that the girl who got chosen looked creepy.

"That girl looks creepy," the doctor said.

Cassie looked over in the direction Shizuru's hinted at and couldn't help but smirk.
"That girl? the little-looking one?" She asked before grinning. She playfully nudged the older woman and rolled her eyes. "I'll make sure she doesn't bite you..." She mocked, teasingly.

Lord Thomas nodded nonchalantly to Isabelle's response. "I see." Of course, the man had no intention of visiting Isabelle's so called salon any time soon. The girl had struck gold for today, the lord thought ironically. Her first day in Chronopolis, and she had already garnered quite some attention due to his selection. It would probably be good for her salon's publicity. "Well, do enjoy the tournaments, young lady."

...and he was free to leave the area and blend in with the masses, though if his appearrance remained the way it was, that would be difficult. Wonderful. Allen, do tell me when the tournament ends... and if something interesting happens...

((By the way, if anyone is interested in the School of Pranks RP, we just need one more person to start the RP.))

triggerperfect,

Aidan sighed, relieved. She continued to walk, her pace a little less urgent as she realized that she couldn't sense the woman anywhere near her. This confused her slightly, but she was still uncomfortable with the thought of staying out in the open. In answer to Haucon's question, she said "My shop. It's the closest place that I consider safe." The elf slowed even more as they approached their destination, and finally stopped in front of the door. Looking up at the doors, she cursed slightly at the words Vale Apothecary that were painted above the door in precise, silver paint. Aidan began to attempt to retrieve her key with her injured hand, but became quickly frustrated. Regretfully dropping Haucon's hand, she was finally able to unlock the doors. Pushing one open, she was greeted by the earthy smell of her little shop. She turned around, flattening herself against the door in order to hold it open. The elf's eyes strayed immediately to the hand which had, until recently, been wrapped around hers. She noticed the crescent-shaped imprints her nails had made, and grew a bit red in the face. Gesturing with a nod, she said, "I'm sorry about that. I should have paid more attention to the fact that I was gouging your hand to death..."

Haucon smiled and laughed at Aidan's concern for his hand. "It's but a scratch, I've been hurt far worse and never by anyone so pretty." he said before he could catch himself. He blushed and coughed trying to cover it up as he squeezed past her into the small shop. He liked the smell, the dry, not quite dusty scent with an after whiff of mints and rosemary.

He took a minute to glance around the place in wonder. He remembered going to the apothecary when he was apprenticed at the stables, but that had been a different one further out of town. He had always been amazed at the rows and rows of tiny jars each with a label, containing ingredients from far off places, or even from nearby. Haucon strolled down the center aisle of the shop, eyes wide, marveling at all the jars. The other apothecary had been smaller, but Aidan's clearly had a wider selection crammed into a smaller space.

Remembering himself, he turned to Aidan. "Think I'm safe here then?" he asked, as the memory of the blonde woman came back to him. "What on earth just happened anyway? Who, or what was she?" he said leaning back on the counter.

What? The nerve! Shizuru thought at Casse's reply. "Sure..." But she was soon distracted by people in the center of the arena. "Hey, Cassie, let's see who gets subdued first; the thin one or the slightly chunky one?"

After the tournament, Shizuru probably had to grab lunch and then go back to her office and see whatever people showed up... Goody gooody...

((Uh, assuming that the tournament started?))

triggerperfect,

In spite of herself, Aidan was smiling at his compliment as she turned to close the door behind him. She locked it once again, still unsure of why they were not being followed. The shop was slightly darker than it had been when she had left it earlier, but she didn't dare open any of the curtains on the ground floor. Stepping lightly forward, she began to visibly relax in the familiar environment. Slipping past Haucon wordlessly, she pushed back the black curtain leading to the back room, and allowing some filtered light to drift through the doorway into the main shop. As she did this, Aidan muttered "You're much safer here than you would be anywhere else, I think.." Before answering Haucon's question Aidan considered her words carefully. Walking back around her counter, she moved over to the ladder that was still in the same place it had been when the doctor had visited. Sitting on one of the lower rungs, her green-black eyes found the Stable Master. "To be honest, I'm not quite sure what happened. All I know is that that woman was not human. I'm almost positive she was a demon of some kind, judging by her rather..." She blinked slowly, searching for the correct expression, "Unusual appearance. And she was on the hunt." Raising an eyebrow, she commented, "You seem to have attracted her special attention." Aidan's shoulders tensed gradually as she spoke, rather uncomfortable with the idea that Haucon might have fallen prey to the demon's lusts, had she not been present. And, perhaps if they had not been so lucky, even while she had been present.
Thanking providence, the elf sighed quietly.

Haucon listened intently to Aidan and eventually hoisted himself up so he was sitting more comfortably on the counter. His eyes grew wide at the mention of demon's and the amount of danger he'd been in began to sink in. He looked at Aidan when she'd finished speaking. "Thank you." he said simply. "For pulling me out of there. I kind of got hypnotized in a way, like when a rat sees a snake. I probably would've just stood there if you hadn't..." he raised his hand with the red-crescent fingernail marks on it to finish his sentence. Thinking of his hand reminded him of hers. "We should take a look at your hand, and you should probably have some more mullein tea if you have some, which being an apothecary I would assume you would..." he laughed softly trying to shake the overwhelming feeling of darkness that had penetrated the room. He hopped off the counter and moved to where Aidan sat, crouching down beside her to take a look at her hand.

triggerperfect,

Aidan watched him with a quiet interest, allowing his voice to sooth her. As he spoke, she relaxed again, leaning back against the ladder. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply. She was able to specifically identify a few of her favorite scents from the multitude of others that assaulted her over-sensitive nose. Spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, frankincense, and almond. The combination reminded Aidan of the home she had grown up in. Her mother had often extracted the oils and burned them, making the whole dwelling smell of the mixture. Eyes still closed, she responded to Haucon's statement in an unconscious attempt to deflect the attention from herself. "I'm sure you would've caught on eventually. I just helped it happen sooner." She heard him move a from the little distance between them, and the elf opened her eyes once again to watch him. He approached her, and she sat up a little. Considering him for a few moments, she held out her injured hand, giving her permission for Haucon to examine it. "I have some, though I don't think I really need it." Aidan insisted. In truth, now that the adrenaline had seeped from her blood, the limb was beginning to throb again, but the elf was not sure she wanted to allow her senses to dull in case they had another encounter like the one in the competition grounds.

Haucon shrugged at her denial of needing more tea. "Let's have a look, but you're the one who knows best." he said simply as he began to gently unwind the splint that he'd used to wrap Aidan's hand. He could tell that it was still swollen before he'd even started to unwrap it, and he watched her face for signs of pain as he slowly prised the fabric and twig structure free. Her fingers were indeed somewhat swollen and he could see imprints from where they'd swelled against the splinting. He winced, sure that it was painful indeed. "I'm sorry about this again." he said quietly. "The fingers are straight though, so that's good. Shouldn't take too long to heal especially if you keep them splinted and take it easy on them." he said with a smile in her direction.

triggerperfect,

Aidan watched as his fingers worked against her hand. She remained quiet as Haucon unwrapped his earlier handy work. She winced slightly at the swollen fingers, looking at her other hand to compare the sizes. The injured fingers were at least twice the size of the ones on her other hand. "How unattractive..." She muttered, clenching her jaw as the blood was allowed to pump more freely through the injured digits. It hurt. A lot. Despite this she showed only faint signs of just how much pain she was really in. Trying to drive the injury from her mind, Aidan turned her attention to Haucon's soft features. "You didn't push me over." She commented, "You have nothing to be sorry about." Her tone was matter-of-fact, but she appreciated his consideration. The tiny elf continued to watch his face with inquisitive eyes, admiring the small smile that crossed his lips. The room was quiet around them, the sounds of the street outside only faintly audible.

Haucon winced slightly at the small signs of pain that crossed her face. He knew all too well the amount of pain involved from personal experience. He wished he could make it better and remembered how his mother had comforted him when he'd been hurt. Before he could stop himself he leaned forward and brushed his lips against her fingers ever so gently. He blushed but looked up at her and half whispered-half choked "All better." out before beginning to rewrap the hand being careful to be extra gentle with the tender digits. "While it might not have been entirely my fault, I still feel somewhat responsible and I can empathize." he said trying to pull himself together a little more.
