Let's compare and contrast here. KOTR has a set damage of 9999 that it can do, albeit thirteen times over. There is NO WAY to go over this damage barrier. Anima, however, will ALWAYS do over that amount of damage as long as you have Lulu's Onion Knight. It doesn't even have to be completely unlocked (I won't explain that statement, go play the game if you want to know).
On to attack animations. KOTR will ALWAYS take in excess of two-and-a-half minutes to summon, as there is no feature in FF7 that allows you to turn attack animations off. Anima on the other hand, can have it's attack animations turned off.
At this point, some of you will be saying so what? KOTR hits thirteen times for 9999 every time. That trumps anything that Anima can do! Wrong. Anima's max damage is 99999. Here is where you are going to have to do a little *gasp* MATH. For those who have the international version of FFX (like myself), Anima's overdrive Oblivion hits multiple times. Math time: 9999* 13= 129987 damage possible, but Anima gets 99999*2 (its actually more, but I never stop to count because of the insta-death to most opponents)= 199998. That's a difference of 70011 damage. Ouch.
For those who don't have the international version of FFX (I have played both), Anima's overdrive will only hit once. That sucks compared to the damage that KOTR does, I know, but this is where that nifty attack animation option comes into play. As I mentioned above, KOTR will ALWAYS take in excess of two minutes and thirty seconds to cast ONCE. Anima stays on the field and can continuously attack your opponents dealing 99999 EVERY time (if you take the time to raise its stats, which I do). All of Anima's attack animations take within ten seconds, even its overdrive if you turn off the animations. Further compounding Anima's colossal superiority to KOTR is the fact that you can raise and max its speed, on top of the fact that Anima can learn and use spells in battle like... I don't know... maybe Haste?! This gives Anima even more turns to lay the smacketh down on your opponent, even if it is only to physically attack your opponent ONCE for 99999 damage.
To recap, Anima would totally a**l RAPE KOTR any day of the week.

KOTR could deal enough damage in the first round to kill Anima before he even has the chance to throw a punch. And you have to realize that the system Anima works on was different for KOTR. Imagine if KOTR had the same upgradeable ability as Anima had.

You also have to realize that the creators of FF balanced the system out in FFX. There is NO WAY they would allow you to have thirteen summons on the screen at once as the system could not handle it. Not to mention the insane amount of cheapness that would be. If they ever did that, I would quit playing FF altogether because it would defeat the purpose of the game.

While I do respect your opinion, I do not believe Anima would be beaten for one simple reason: Oblivion. Due to the fact that my Anima is completely maxed, including its speed, it always gets the first strike in battle. Seeing as how Oblivion hits ALL enemies with every strike, the first strike of Oblivion would completely annihilate every last one of the good ol' Knights. Add this to the fact that each one of the Knights can only hit ONCE each, Anima would crush them even if they got off one or two hits before it destroyed them.

If, however, you put them on the same system, you have yourself an interesting fight. I believe the creators would have enough foresight to tone down the Knights so they wouldn't be so cheap on FFX. Imagine, if you will, that Ultimate End becomes their overdrive. Now you have evened the playing field some. At this point, it comes down to who gets the first hit, and if they have a full overdrive available.

I would say KOTR because their awesome attack power and the FFX Bahamut for how cool he looks. My friends say he stands like a bouncer for a club or something

KoTR = BROKEN. Given it's an awesome summon and it does mop the floor with most bosses, it takes away any if not most of the challenge that FFVII can bring. but.... it sure is pretty >.> one of my all time favorites in VII would be neo bahamut. but choco mog is suuuuuper cute ^.^ hmmm
but as far as best would go I'd have to saaayyyyyy tonberry or cactuar from FFVIII, just because they are.... cute XD can't forget chubby chocobo in VII either. oh and even though it's a sephiroth only summon.... supernova, totally. my fav. even if the summoning sequence takes two minutes or so to go through lol

oh in X, anima does rock the boat pretty hard, buuuut I think I'll go with yojimbo.... because he's PIMP!!!

i have been playing ff7 for a long time and recently got it on my psp mrgreen yep full game, not crisis core, original mrgreen and even though most other people wouldnt agree, based on its awesomeness and not strength id have to go with phoenix and hades because i like their animations biggrin lol these 2 even slightly reflect on my avi razz
