*Baikasu, after waching the creature dissappear, Baikasu then decides to get back to the nearest tree, sitting up against it for comfort, as too much movement would worsen his condition.*

Baikasu: Dude, I have a fraking busted up leg. Heal the wounded first, THEN look up the creature. Priorities, man!
PostPosted: Wed Mar 01, 2006 11:27 pm

Daewyn abashedly blushed and hurried over to Baikasu's side, carefully searching through her bag, as her hands still stung from the burns. In a short moment she produced a roll of clean linen strips and a bottle of a curious green liquid. "Here, drink this," she ordered, wrinkling her nose. "It doesn't taste too good, but it'll make you feel better." She couldn't explain it much better. She didn't really know how potions worked, only that they did. First inspecting the wound, she removed the wrapping as carefully as possible. Growing up on the streets the way she did, this was not the first time she'd tended to a friends stab-wound, though she could definately tell this was the worst she'd ever seen. Hoping that the potion would help with the pain long enough for her to get this worked out, she reached mentally down into the earth, this time not to the bedrock, but to the soil where plant roots drew their nutrients from. Please, let me have a little, my friend needs help, she silently begged. The idea had occurred to her while she was travelling through the earth a few days back, but she hadn't had need of it then and didn't really remember until just now. The earth gave the girl plenty of the energy she needed, and her hands began to glow green in response.

Daewyn gasped in surprise for a moment. She hadn't really known what to expect, and the sight took her by surprise, but after her initial shock she shook her head clear and focused back on the task at hand. Placing her hands gently on his leg so as not to cause any more pain than necessary, Daewyn released the green glow into Baikasu's leg, willing it to wrap around and strengthen his brutalized flesh. The glow solidified slightly, attaching itself to the man's natural flesh. It would act as a supplement to his real tissue as long as it needed to, until his body could recover naturally. "There... "the child finally said, hesitantly. "That looks about right..."

You did well, child. Terra finally told her, completely silent up until this point. The Daewyn's innovative mind kept amazing her. Terra had decided it would be better to keep silent unless her advice was absolutely necessary, the girl obviously learned much better that way. His leg will look a little odd for a few weeks, but his body will recover much more quickly with that healing influence. Just tell him to favor that leg for a while and everything should be fine.

Daewyn's face visibly brightened at this. "Terra said I did it right!" she exclaimed happily. "You just have to give your leg favors for a few weeks and you'll be as good as new... whatever that means." Her pixieish face beamed with pleasure at having taught herself a new, and quite useful, trick.

((OOC: Sorry, foks; when I haven't been looking after the baby or going to work, the computer's been occupied. rolleyes ))

As badass as Naoko might be, she was still recovering from a battle - not to mention that she was probably still winded from her illness. Nida figured that being dead weight was going to jinx them both. Hell, the term had "dead" built right into it. Could she push her control of the amulet further?

No choice but to try.

She cried out as the rush of poison heeded her will and burned through her system. Without Xachta's mediating influence, the effect on her body was far rougher. But she could still control it, and was even able to goo up the nictating membrane which had allowed her to see in the heavy spectral range in the Earth temple. Ignoring the fiery, acidic sting in her pores as a thick coat of slime painted itself across her body, she whipped her eyes around, scanning her surroundings.

Just as she'd hoped, the area around her was striated with foundation, supports, and - lucky - an upthrust of bedrock. Overlayered, blurry monochrome radials showed the edges and depths of the phenomena. Not exactly true three-dimensional vision, but it was a good model. Her luck was holding so far. She had approximately two seconds to pray that the rest of her plan would continue to be so lucky.

"I'm letting go, Naoko. I think I can hang on long enough for you to get me a rope or something. If I stick around, we'll both die. When I drop, don't hesitate, 'cause I don't think I can do this for long." Nida's voice was even, steady, conversational. She was too busy concentrating to bother with inflection. As she spoke, she was mentally directing all the ooze on her body to gather at her forearms. She was also reabsorbing the diluting elements from the poison, distilling it into a purer form - and causing unending agony to her arms in the process.

Finally, after a half-second of silence, she let go. Immediately, she slung one arm into the wall, flinging the poisonous acid forward from her arm to her hands and into the rock. It burned a trench, deeper and deeper, and she brought her other arm around and planted it into the wall as well. Sure enough, she slowed, digging in... and right as the acid gave way, her arms jerked against a stronger vein of stone that didn't burn quite so readily. She twisted and squirmed to maintain a tenuous hold, elbow-deep in a stone wall seventy-five feet down from the nearest ledge.

She was thankful for the lack of direct light. She sure as hell didn't want to see how much flesh she'd lost. She planned for the worst and began thinking about the possibilities prosthetics might offer... assuming she got out alive in the first place.

((OOC: YAY! Welcome back everyone!! Let's get this sucker back into gear. ...and where did Kaede go??))

*Shuichi, upon hearing Baikasu's comment, started to get up, but stopped when Daewyn went ahead to heal him.*

I should have thought about that...stupid me.

Daewyn's got it now. Look up the creature.

Okay then.

***

*Bryce followed Daewyn with his eyes as she went to go take care of Baikasu*

Well, she'll take care of him. I'm not a healer. And Shuichi's busy looking up Ifrit...

Hey guys, I'm going to go scan the area while we're recouperating. Wouldn't want another monster to pop out at us before we got ready. And, um, as soon as you're well enough Baikasu, we should get a move on. No telling how close everyone else is to the Crystal Hall.

*Feeling the wind surge through him once more, Bryce rose a bit above the treeline and began scanning the area. He could still see smoke rising from the main part of the city, on up to the Crystal Hall.*

So many lives have been lost...yet the fighting continues. I wonder how much of the Crystal Hall is intact...and how many of the soldiers remain alive...

I sense that there is still a lot of magic in that area. There's something else too...something...odd.

Well...there are many mysteries that lie in the Crystal Hall. Especially around where the Mage Academy is. It isn't your ordinary place. Deep, secretive magic has been practiced and developed there for centuries. It's only a matter of time before it is unleashed.

That must be what Dante is after. Well...that and the Temple.

Yes. The most bothersome thing for me, though, is that the two are most likely connected. Tuvidal would have much to gain by harnessing the power that lies in a Temple such as that one. Let's just hope we're not too late...

Better report back to the others soon, then.

Yes. And I haven't seen anything in our general vicinity. The path to the Crystal Hall won't be easy...but we shouldn't find another Ifrit along the way.

***

*Shuichi continues frantically turning page after page of his spellbook*

Is there even a point to this? I mean...Ifrit's already dead...I feel like we're wasting time...

He said we could call upon him if needed. We have to know how to do that...it would be invaluable to us.

If you say so.

*He continues to flip pages for a few minutes*

Aha! This section describes these summoning creatures you spoke of...hm...yes! It seems that we can call upon Ifrit's power through a simple spell. But...it also says that the summon creatures are very selective as to who can call on their power. I wonder if any one of us can do it...or maybe he directed his thought to just one?

((OOC: Any ideas about this summon creature thing are welcomed. I don't want to make up this whole thing by myself...lol. Ayame, have we chosen a name for them? (Like Aeons, Espers, Summons, etc.?) And should we have had Ifrit drop a sort of item, like a stone, for us to use or what? lol.))

ooc: Well, I was thinking that each of us could have a summon corresponding to our amulet/job/etc. Ifrit would go to the next Fire-Bearer since Phey is dead, etc. Anyone agree/disagree with this idea?

bic:

Gwyn grinned a little bit, panting from the effort the battle had taken, but glad at the outcome.

"Damn Sion, that was a nice little bit of magic... well, I'm sure we're both tired, but we should really try to catch up with the others.

=================

Sion nodded, weary from the slow buildup and the sudden release.

"But how are we going to find them, exactly? I mean, we know where their final destination (ooc: >.> not the movie) is, but how do we know where they are?"

=================

"Hey, just leave that to me. I've still got a few tricks up my sleeve, Sion..."

Gwyn focused his mind on the Astral Plane. He hadn't done this very much, but had been practicing during the nighttime when they had been camping. He focused on the life signals of his friends. Soon, their signals began to glow like small beacons. But there was something wrong... someone was missing. Try as he might, he couldn't sense Phey's life signal anywhere. Having obtained the information he needed, he focused back on the Material Plane, still very worried.

"They're all ahead of us... Daewyn, Bryce and the others are closer to us, though, so I think we should meet up with them first. We need to hurry, Sion... somethings gone wrong, I think, and our friends need our help..."

Without another word, Gwyn began running off in the direction he had sensed Daewyn's group.

==============

Sion was a little taken aback by Gwyn's sudden grim attitude. From his experience, the young Dragoon had always been rather cheerful. The sudden change shocked Sion to his core. And according to Gwyn, the others could be in serious trouble... Well, he wasn't about to let his only friends down when they needed him. Steeling his resolve, he chased after Gwyn.

==============

After a few minutes of running, Gwyn caught sight of the others. Desperately, he waved to them.

"Hey guys! Sion and I are here now!!!!"

Kneeling down in front of them, Gwyn caught his breath. All he needed was a few moments to rest, then he'd be ready to go again. Taking advantage of the situation, he decided to fill in the others on what had happened.

"Well, Sion and I defeated that fire b***h... she was incredibly tough, but we managed. I don't know whether or not she's gone for good though. But that doesn't matter now! I... checked on the others, and I think we have a problem. Phey... Phey's gone. I can't sense her life energy anywhere. I can't think of any explanation other than that.... she's gone. I don't know what happened, but Naoko and the others need our help now..."

================

Sion's mouth gaped at the sudden revelation. What was happening to the others at this moment? Why were they resting here while their other friends could be dying at this moment? Sion didn't know anything. The sudden realization that he was helpless to help those he cared about made him fearful and angry.

"What are we doing here?! We have to go, now! The others could be dying right now!"

ooc: Sorry for being so forward with the plot, but I just wanted to get Gwyn and Sion caught up with everyone sweatdrop

(OOC: Ahahaha...I should bug Kaede about her character...she was saying to me that she was making up the profile and read what had just happened to get the gist that she is indeed a new person, so she shouldn't know much about anyone yet...but...hm...I'll bug her tomorrow when I see her ^^.

As for the summons, I was kinda thinking along Gwyn's lines. They should be a separate entity from the actual amulet guardians, although they do live in the same realm as the guardians do...does that make sense?)

IC:

Without even saying a word of agreement, Naoko hoisted herself up the ledge as soon as Nida let go. She wrapped her cloak tightly in a line and threw it back down while holding the end.

It was a good thing her cloak was so durable. She would have to thank the old man who had given it to her long ago whenever she could have the chance to stop by in the tiny village she ran into while on her travels so long ago.

"Here," she said, dangling the wrapped cloak in front of the poison bearer.

Nida grabbed the cloth and Naoko pulled her up. It was much easier doing this, she noted, but as soon as Nida was able to grab onto the ledge where Naoko stood and climbed up, the Mistress of Void layed down, blowing a sigh of exhaustion.

Her senses were going crazy. She could literally feel the tainted magic of the place. If only she had noticed the power sooner...

Frowning, Naoko stood up and dusted off the remnants of debris from her clothes. There wasn't going to be any time to mourn for Phey. If they could finish this temple and calm the area, then that was enough. Naoko learned a long time ago that it wasn't any use to stay in mourning.

Hers and Nida's wounds seemed to be minor in the dim light, although she noted that Nida looked a bit different than the last time. Unraveling her cloak and sliding it over herself, she looked at Nida one more time and walked forward into the passageway.

"Let's go."

~~~~~~
"Dammit, where the hell are they?"
Reika Feanor was never a patient woman. Though the same age as her distant cousin, the Mistress of Fire was perhaps the most impatient woman in the world. She wanted to get things done right away and quickly no matter what the costs of the matter would be.
This time wasn't an exception.
"General Reika, the area is secure," a soldier came up next to her as she glared at the emptiness of the Crystal Hall. "All civilians that have been saved have evacuated to the underground."
"That's good," she said, taking one last look at the hallway before turning back to the soldier. "Have the entrances to the pillar been sealed off?"
"Yes, sir."
Reika nodded in satisfaction as she turned back to what she was looking at before. Not only was she staring at the emptiness of the Hall, but also at the aura that seemed to be leaking across the walls.
"I want you to order all the soldiers to head to the underground with the civilians. I'll be waiting here."
The soldier looked at Reika wide-eyed. "...General?"
Reika threw a sharp glance back at the soldier. "You heard me. Evacuate all the soldiers and leave me here. I don't want you to get involved with this mess."
"But, General!"
"I said GO!" she growled. "Do you or do you not follow my orders, soldier? These creatures are not something that the soldiers of Tuvidal can deal with. We have had more than enough casualities already."
The soldier had given a hesitant response before his eyes reluctantly fell in submission. "...Yes, General."
As the soldier turned back and shouted orders to retreat to the others, Reika looked back at the empty Hall, focusing on all of her power to prevent the aura from advancing further.
You better get here, soon, Naoko.
~~~~~

Without even hearing another reply, Sion turned to the large crystalline structure sitting on top of the hill in the city and ran towards it. He had seen more than enough carnage in his life. He had more than just the honor of his family bloodline to stop all of this mess.

"Wait, Sion!"

The water bearer stopped and turned back to the others, all -- though healed -- still looked worn and exhausted from their battles.

"We have to get to Crystal Hall, right?" he told them. "Then we can get there quickly if you follow me."

(OOC: Sorry for recapturing Sion again, Gwyn ^^. I couldn't resist.)
~~~~
It hurt. More than anything, all she could feel was pain. Her green eyes curiously looked around the chaos and destruction that fell into the city, and she could no longer tell where she was. She didn't know why she was soaked to the bone nor why the other houses looked just as chaotic as she did.
She didn't even know why she was here.
However, Layla continued walking on despite the pain as she began to follow the path to the source of where she could feel Naoko's aura.
Phey... gone? It didn't make sense. She was Daewyn's hero. Yes, she hadn't known her that long, but few had reached out to the little orphan and the thought of having lost such a kindred spirit after so short a time was devastating. If the girl hadn't been so used to not having anyone in her life, she probably would have reacted differently. As it was, the despondant look on her face transformed into a steeled resolve by the time Sion urged them forward. "Yes! We have to rescue Phey, c'mon!" Rikku jumped up and dove into the ground headfirst, swimming just below the surface of the ground a lot faster than she could have walked. She quickly outpaced the others as she rushed to the Crystal Hall. Phey has to be okay... she just has to!
Child I... maybe you should... Terra cut herself short. The girl wouldn't listen, and if she would, there was no telling what accepting the truth would do to her. The guardian decided to mentally cross her fingers and pray that the girl would be okay.
ooc: Okay, heres my personal idea on summons. This is by no means me telling you what you should have, you can do whatever you want. This is just to help give you some ideas.
Ayame (Naoko) - Void, Daemon and Kaen - Fenrir, Diabolos, Phantom
Kelwyn (Daewyn) - Life/Earth, Terra - Titan, Kirin, Terrato, Golem
Gwyn Masamune (Gwyn) - Mind/Gravity, Kain - Diabolos, Odin, Mist Dragon, Atomos
Shuichi (Shu) - Time, Anubi - Carbuncle, Palidor, Valefor, Maduin/Madeen, Unicorn,
Kaede (???) - Fire, ? - Ifrit, Phoenix, Salamander(probably Ifrit since he's already in)
Kohki (Baikasu) - Lightning, Macnor - Ramuh, Quetzalcoatl, Ixion, Hydra
Chibicid (Bryce) - Wind, Narya - Garuda, Typhon, Pandemona, Valefor
Tanasha (Tanasha) - Fate, Quirky - Doomtrain, Diabolos, Cerberus, Hades, Phoenix, Lich, Odin
lucavi (lucavi) - Holy, Dark Zodiac, Vormav - Alexander, Carbuncle, Odin, Maduin/Madeen
Anatares (Anatares) - Illusion, ? - Mist Dragon, Phantom, Siren, Hades, Valefor
Nida (Nida) - Poison, Xachta - Hades, Lich, Doomtrain, Remora, Shoat
Shaolin (Shao) - (Does he have an element? o.O)
Sion (NPC) - Water - Leviathan, Bismark, Hydra, Shiva (Is he Ice as well?), Cyclops (Ice)
Again, these are just ideas for people. Personally, I'd like to have Diabolos, but if Ayame wants Diabolos for Naoko, then I have other options. Also, I was thinking that summons like Bahamut, Knights of the Round, Ragnarok, Anima, etc. could be group summons or something. Again, I'm just tossing ideas out there.
OOC: Actually, Odin would also be a possibility for me, as I'm weak against my own element, and Odin hates electricity. Hillarity would surely ensue. rofl Also, I'm partial to Eidolens, as some summons in FFIX required you do do something to gain their use.
Prior to hearing of Phey's fate:
Baikasu:Cool stuff... it's all solid and hard*taps magical bandage before putting pantleg back in place.* Thanks!
After hearing about her fate:
*Baikasu's expression is wiped from his face, and his eyebrows expressed anger. He stood up, keeping his weight mainly on his non-injured leg, and slammed the bottom of his fist into the tree he was next to.*
Baikasu: SHITCOCK!
*Phey's supposed death became reality to him quickly, and he was pissed. not only did she have his pistol, but she was a friend, though they had not known each other that long. To have someone close to him taken away so soon is like a slap in the face with a sack of lead balls at relativistic speeds.*
*After a 30 second pause, he then begins to put his sword away, take out his assault rifle, and proceeds to reload his last clip into it. Then he checks his pistol's magazine, and notices that he has exactly 10 rounds in his FN 5.7mm pistol.*
Baikasu: Even if Phey's gone, the others still really need our help. Like ******** I'm going to lose anyone else today. Where are they?
((OOC: I'll gladly take Shoat/Kjata sometime in the future. Mononoke-hime, anyone? twisted ))
Nida coughed in pain upon arrival on the ledge, then muttered out something approximating gratitude. In an effort to distract herself from the searing agony of having melty arms, Nida focused her attention on Naoko. Was the Melbane pushing herself too hard? Was that cyclone s**t, or whatever it was called, sapping the party's fearless leader? She'd never seen Naoko indulge in such an open act of self before - of course, Naoko had been unconscious for a huge chunk of Nida's time in the party - and it was striking.
I wonder if Xachta isn't the only one willing to push the bearers to the brink after all. I wonder if Daemon's driving her. He doesn't really seem like the kind of guy to have a lot of sympathy for his great-grandkid...
Hurriedly, Nida summoned up a cast of gelled goo to cover her forearms. She prayed she wouldn't have to pick anything up for at least a week. She didn't even want to think about what the post-elimination ritual would be like. Maybe it would be best to not increase her fluid intake for the time being.
"What's the next step, Void?" she wheezed.
OOC: I actually don't mind if you want Diabolos, Gwyn. 3nodding Since Daemon can literally posses Naoko, I don't think that there's a need for her to have a summon especially with such an arsenal of magic that she has. sweatdrop
And since it looks like everyone's using a specific color...I guess I'll use the one that was used for the transfer sweatdrop
And Kaede's working hard on her character profile, just to let ya guys know xd
IC:
Naoko paused to look back at Nida for a moment beneath her hood before looking away.
"This is a passageway that leads directly to the center of the Crystal Pillar," she replied. "Hopefully we'll be able to get there without much interference."
As long as this aura doesn't get any larger, was her thought.
Usually, Daemon would give her some sort of dry and witty commentary at her thinking but since neither of them could contact their guardians, his presence was oddly missed. It was a bit odd for her to think so, but Daemon had been for these past few months the only source of guidance with the occasional drop-in from her mother. It was a kind of guidance and authority that she hadn't had since her brother left her in that village all those years ago.
"Hopefully?" came Nida's remark.
"I honestly don't know myself if we will run into anything here or not," she told her. "The aura in here's so strange that I can't tell if it's heading left or right."
They began walking side by side in the small passageway as she continued on. "But whatever it is, it's definitely heading for the center of this place and trying to prevent any of us from getting there. This passageway was created by the elder mages of the Tuvidal Magic Academy. Or at least that was what I was told. A barrier was created around the entire outside of this passageway so that no interference could get in. Or...get out."
It was unusual for Naoko to talk so much, but the situation that they were in now, especially when it was just her and Nida called for some sort of conversation at the least. It helped her get her mind off of Phey's death.
~~
Sion waved his hands up in the air to grab some attention of sorts. "Hey, see that over there?"
He pointed to the shining building of sorts on top of a hill nearby. When the gunman turned back to them, his eyes had turned blue. "I can feel their aura over there. Xachta and Daemon. I can't seem to communicate with them, though."
HEY! I thought you said that you were tired! Sion complained to his ancestor and guardian.
Shut up, boy. You trying to make up some inane humor when one of their comrades just died is not going to help the situation. Melchior snapped back.
Geez, damn old men and their traditions...
PostPosted: Mon Mar 06, 2006 9:03 pm
What's that? Gwyn?
*Bryce noticed two figures running toward the others and descended to see what news they had.*
"Phey's gone."
*Bryce's heart sank into the pit of his stomach as he heard Gwyn speak of Phey's death. He was too stunned to react. Before he knew it, Sion was off running toward the Crystal Hall.*
"Now wait a second...it's going to do you no good to run off by yourself!"
*As he began to walk toward Sion, he noticed out of the corner of his eye a figure jump and dive into the earth.*
"DAEWYN, NO!! Damn it. Okay guys, this is definitely not good. There's a lot of magic in Crystal Hall, and it's not going to be good for us to run into it unprepared or alone. Not to mention that we don't know how the soldiers of Tuvidal nor General Reika will respond to our coming. Plus, Naoko and Nida have got to be close to it by now...and Phey disappeared. Something's not right. I agree that we need to hurry, but we can't be too rash."
***
*Shuichi glanced around rapidly not knowing what to look at. So many things were happening at once, and the poor boy had just finished reading out of his spell book.*
"Umm...well...uhh..."
Bryce is right. You should get all your stuff together and be ready to move.
Right. Of course.
*He quickly packs away his spellbook and looks about to see if he's missed anything. In his haste, he trips over a rough object and falls to the ground.*
"I'm okay guys...just hit something."
*As he looks down to see what tree root he hit, he notices a shiny sort of object on the ground.*
Why...this looks like a jewel...perhaps...a topaz? Better keep it in case we need to stock up on supplies later.
*Without a second thought, he places it in his pocket and looks back to the others to see what the next action will be.*
***
*Bryce looked to Gwyn, Baikasu, and Shuichi, who were the only ones around him now.*
"Sorry to overreact guys, but Sion and I know our way around here. I think the best plan of action should be to slow he and Daewyn down before they get into a bind and get after them as quickly as we can."
*He steps over closer to Baikasu.*
"How's the potion working for your leg? You think you can make it bud?"
((OOC: Wow...lots of progression real quick. Haha. I like it though. As far as summons go, I think it's good for each of us to have a specific one, and I'm gonna side with Kohki on the Eidolon aspect. Which explains why Shuichi just picked up a _ and put it in his bag. We'll hand it over to Kaede at a later moment, when it flows with the story.
As for my summon...I'm thinking maybe Valefor or Garuda...some sort of winged beast. It's going to work into my character development (which I'm happy to get back to). Yay for moving forth and future temples!!
One last thing...if anyone wants to add anything to Shuichi, feel free. I'm not developing him so much because I don't know quite what to do with him. I'm hoping someone will take over for a permanent spot, but until then, anyone's welcome to control him for a bit. xd ))
It could see what was going on with its bearer - if "see" was the right word, anyway - but it couldn't affect what was going on. It was less like being walled out and more like trying to get around a guard in a heated basketball game, only the guard was invisible, incorporeal, and untraceable. Xachta railed in frustration, but eventually sighed to itself and coiled into a singular point of angst, waiting to see what was next. It had pushed its bearer so far so fast for just this sort of situation. Now it was glad that Nida was capable of commanding the amulet... and unafraid to use it.
Xachta turned its attention outward for a brief moment, but found it could not feel the presence of its companion spirits, either. Now this was cause for concern. It knew they were there. Distance mattered very little with regards to the guardian spirits (within the horizon line, anyway), and Xachta should have been able to just slip a tendril of consciousness outside its self-awareness and brush against another amulet. No such luck.
Was it being held by the dark magic of this place? Was Daemon held thus, too? Or was this a fluke, or a circumstance brought on by other causes entirely?
"If the barrier's as effective as the masonry, then we could be pretty ********," Nida muttered, looking back toward the pit. "I don't know what happened before I signed on, but this is the first fatality on our side that I've seen. We haven't even really started this temple yet, and Phey's dead and I'm a cripple and you're about to fall out." She coughed, spat; once again, her saliva ate a tiny crater into the floor. "On top of that s**t, we're separated from the others... and we're going up against Dante and his multiple personalities, 'Godmode', 'Can't ******** Touch Me,' and 'By the Way, I Hate the Good Guys'."
Nida slowed her stride, stopped altogether, took a deep, cleansing breath. "I vote we stop and regroup. Time is of the essence, whatever, yadda yadda. We're going to get ourselves killed, Naoko. As I understand it, we need Daemon so everyone will kowtow to the same arrogant a*****e, and we need Xachta because eventually we'll need a guardian crazy enough to sacrifice its bearer for the greater good. Right?"
