Ciaran shook her head furiously when Rayne said to imagine a lion. she'd never done that for something living. It would just be...wrong. The piano idea was a little better though. "I've never imagined something that big." She said, somewhat sheepishly. "But...where would I put it? I don't think there's enough room in here for me to do that..." She looked at Nick.

"Ok then how about a small statue of a lion playing a piano." Nick smiled at the shy girl trying to encourage her. He was quit curious in truth.

Ciaran thought for a moment, then nodded. "Uh, sure. I can do that." She closed her eyes shut. It helped her concentrate and picture what she wanted. She thought of a small marble lion at a grand piano, the lid open showing the individual strings. When she heard a light plunking noise, she opened her eyes again. It was about the same width of a dinner plate, and stood as high as a flower vase.

Nick had jumpped when he suddenly saw the marble statue. It was amasing what she just did and it scared Nick alittle. It made him happy that she was a nice person. "Wow! I didn't think you could make it look exactly like I thought it would be."

"I didn't either." Ciaran said wonderingly, but glad that someone was impressed with her power. Nobody else knew about it but her, and now Rayne and Nick did. Her parents hadn't been there when she had gotten it either. "I wonder where they come from, these things I imagine, I mean..."

"No your right. I imagined the lion looking a little bit more cartoonish. That would mean you made it better than my idea. Now if your powers are anything like mine these things come from your own mind. You just use the energy stored in your body to change the atoms in the space you want your idea to take shape. So really they don't come from you but from the atoms that you manipulate in the area." Nick looked up to looks of confusion and surprise. "What? To complicated?"

"I...uh, actually thought that it just appeared from somewhere else in the world..." Ciaran mumbled, embarrased and feeling more than a little childish. "But your theory works too, it follows the Law of Conservation of Mass...Because they just rearrange themselves and don't pop ou of nowhere..."

Nick laughed glad to see his words were understood. "Well i'm glad you understood what I meant. Yes the Law of Conservation of Mass. You cannot make something out of nothing. I also think that for you teleportaion is possible. Though I do not suggest it if your not able to do living things. Teleportation would require you to break down your own atoms and move them somewhere else. Or at least change them in another area. Though can your break down the atoms of a soul?" Nick had a philosophical look on his face and he laughed. He cut a piece of his steak and took a bite.

Ciaran poured some Dr. Pepper in a cup and took a long drink. "...Why can't you just say that it's magic that does it? It doesn't have to be that complicated..." She couldn't help a small frown coming on her face, and set the cup down, picking up a fork."...I haven't tried imagining a living thing. It just seems wrong to...have that power over life..."

"Well for one thing I agree no one should and i don't suggest it. Like I said you cant break down the atoms of a human soul. Second i don't believe in magic." Nick poured some Dr.Pepper himself.

Ciaran set her cup down and gave Nick an odd look. "You don't believe in magic?" When she said that, she realized how childish she sounded. "Well...I guess it does seem like what a little kid would say...But how do you explain these powers then?" She took a fork and knife and began to eat some of the steak, thinking it was actually well cooked.

"Well I could go rambling about DNA and natural selection but what it comes down to is that we are the next step in the evolution of the human race." Nick finished his steak and set down his fork.

"Natural selection." Ciaran repeated, pausing in her eating. "If it's natural selection, then why are all these soldiers killing people like us?" Tears started to form in her eyes and she sniffed, angry at herself for getting sad. "Wouldn't they be happy, or something? Or are they just afraid of us?" She put down her fork and rubbed her eyes, sniffing noisily again. She shifted in her seat to face away from Nick, embarrassed she was acting like this.

"Yes. They are afraid. Their afraid that we'll raise up against the government that they built. So they wish to destroy us and make it as if we never existed." Nick got up and put a hand on Ciaran's shoulder. "It's alright to be sad. Though hidding it won't make matters better you know."

"I'm sorry..." Ciaran sniffed and felt teas roll down her cheeks. "It's just...cruel, what they're doing..." She went silent, quietly crying until she felt she could speak again without her throat closing up. "How come...you're not sad by this? Is it because...you've thought of this...so many times?"
