Miss Lovely Rita

Moé, ever so protective of her best friend, went the opposite direction.
"She's too young!"
She wailed and went back inside the pagoda.
She came back a few minutes later, confused.
"He just stared at her for a bit, then redressed her. How... weird."

Caleb waited for the grand serpent to come. "...I still feel, we have out stayed our welcome." Caleb lifted his robe and adjusted his splints.

Moé opened a portal, and, grabbing his arm, jumped through it. The portal wasn't black this time around, since Jormunganndr was nearby.
"Woohoo!"
They landed safely on his head, and Jormungandr moved them back to the home destination-portal.

Caleb fell onto the serpent. Almost losing his footing, by the time he rebalanced himself, they were inside the house, the front door behind them. He was happy to be in his home again.

Moé closed the portal, and paused.
"Oh, right, you have the keys! Hahahah."

Caleb, went into the parlor, taking his gifts, including the various novels given to him by his student. After filling both of his arms with the gifts, he walked into his study. Seeing all of the candles had lost their flame, he put down all of the items. His hands retracted, searching for a match book, he did not find one. He quickly returned back up, he began to search the kitchen for a matches, but alas, he could not find any.

Moé took out a matchbook.
"It's handy having a hammerspace, huh?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 15, 2008 7:43 pm

Caleb's hand came out of the robe and plucked the matchbook from her hand. "...Many Blessings." Caleb broke a match off the book and swiped it across the igniting strip. Lighting a small black candle that gave off a small dim light. He lighted several other candles with the black candle. Falling into his leather chair, his white hands taking a dogeared tome. He began to read in peace and solitude, once again.

William Drake leaned against the wall of a seedy tavern, his battered armor rustling and clanking whenever he shifted his weight. He was between mercenary jobs, so he took up work in the tavern, 'escorting' rowdy customers out. "Escorting" meaning dragging them out and knocking them around until they were sure to get the sleep required for sobriety. It payed well, plus he got nice "tips" from the customers. "Tips" meaning whatever money the customers he threw out had on them. He doubted the owner would approve, but he didn't plan to stay in this job long anyways. He had seen what looked to be a promising oppurtunity in the announcement made by the new ruler, Mocha. Crazed, power-mad, lunatics would need a military. And that military would need a good mercenary. I suppose I'll leave and depart for the capital tomorrow, William thought to himself.

Moé went and sat in another chair, and took another nap on it, very comfortable. She woke up a small bit later, and took one of the fiction books she gave to Caleb, beginning to read.
~*~
A skeleton with some patches of skin wobbled very clumsily up to William.
"Hey, Mister. You Mr. Drake? This is from the cousin of Her herself."
In his hand was a note that read a request for employment.

A white hand reached for the snowy owl quill in a ink pot on the cluttered table beside him. Taking it out, he wrote a small note on the bottom of the page with silver ink. As he continued reading, he came across an odd break in the center of the page, written in bright cherry red ink.
8 o'clock, do not miss the celebration in the grand hall.
A small red outline of a heart was underneath.
Caleb's head hung low as he closed the book, not even marking the page for later, and placed it on the ground, picking up another tome, this one with a darkened royal blue cover with faded golden writing.

Moé's head tilted in curiosity at his sudden reaction, but then, realizing it may have something to do with 'HER' again, she frostily continued reading, but found she couldn't.
She got up rather rigidly, and then walked outside to the kitchen to make herself some comfort food.

"I am", replied William to the skeleton, "And here I was thinking I'd have to wade through the muck of bureaucracy to get another job! I assume I'll need to report to the big boss herself, so would you be so kind as to take me to her?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 16, 2008 5:46 am

The skeleton nodded.
"I'm one of her lower-leveled members of her military, but I've never seen anyone living join..."
He gestured as to where he was going to go, and proceeded forward.
"After all, one of the reasons Missus Mocha is so powerful is that there's more skeletons that alive people. Sure, without the meat, we're more prone to attacks, but then she just summons a monstrosity made from several body parts. She's very morbid, that lady."
He turned around, though it was unknown how he saw without eyes.
"I once saw a reanimated human body she made out of sloughing human faces and linking 'em all together somehow. She's like Elizabeth Báthory, 'cept less purdy."

"I've lived for so long I'll probably be more at home with you skeletons than with humans. And I don't much care what my boss does, so long as she pays me, and doesn't use my parts to make a monstrosity. After all, my job is to kill her enemies, not question her methods.", said William.
[[How does Mr. Skeleton see without eyes? The same way as Kokopelli]]
