Mel eyed Tunda for a moment, humming to himself. Then without a word he sat down cross-legged next to the recliner and leaned against it.

Tunda sets the tea cup carefully down on the table nearby, then grabs a cookie, nibbling on it as he looks around at the plants around them. "W-who planted these?"

"These? Hmm..." The dragon looked around and frowned a little in thought. He pointed to some flowers in planter boxes under the windows. "I would have to say these were probably planted by Keelin. It's hard to say about the rest though, everything you see in this house was done with a joint effort. Everyone that was here at the time would help with different things." His eyes widened as it occurred to him that Tunda wouldn't know Keelin. "Keelin is a cat... you would know him when you see him because he always wears pink, has white fur and pink-streaked blonde hair. He's very feminine, gentle and generous, like everyone's mother, well... in a way he is, he helped raise most of the kids that were born here."

Tunda blinks, eyes widening as he looked around the garden. "I-it's beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful place in my life." He says, giving a small smile.

Mel chuckled. "Then you'll have to see more of it for sure. Most of the residents here have their own little sanctuary, be it a garden or a pool or whatever they need to feel completely at home," he grinned. "Of course that always takes a little time but the wait is always worth it."

Tunda smiles again, then nods, his ears standing upright, a small trill escaping him. "That would be nice. I.. guess I should try to meet some of the other residents and get used to being around others, right...? Although... I... I don't think I could stand being around others by myself...."

"Oh that's all right, I won't leave you alone with anyone unless you're comfortable with it. I think you would like a lot of people that live here," Mel grinned, the expression broader because of small sound Tunda had made. It sounded like a happy noise. Maybe he was starting to feel a little better about this place.

Tunda smiles again, then nods before looking down at his lap for a moment. "A-are there any here that I should avoid meeting at all costs..?" He asks worriedly, tail curling up around his waist.

"Ah, well...." Mel blinked and scratched his head. He did not like to speak ill of his residents. "I would say stay away from Amrit and Sian if at all possible. Amrit is rarely seen and he stays in the darkest reaches of the Nullspace besides. You would know him from his dark skin, blue-black hair, and red scales - he's a naga. Sian is a dark-purple demon who is often seen wearing an ancient suit of armor. You might also want to stay away from Kerumogu, a demonic wolf; he likes to pester people he regards as particularly powerful, though he'll leave you alone if he thinks you're going to be 'boring'... or if I tell him to." He frowned. "As for anyone else... everyone's unique and some are into rather, well, odd things... Are there certain types of people you would rather stay away from?"

Tunda thinks for a moment before giving a small nod. "A-anyone cool and m-manipulative like A-Aion, and anyone like M-Mull..." He squeaks out, fearing the two showing up if their names were spoken.

"Okay... hm... Probably Rufus. He is very cool and controlling, and powerful. He's a blonde, white-tabby cat who wears well-tailored white suits. You might not want to get too involved with Asher, he's the one who was involved in your trade though. At the very least, exercise caution and do not look him in the eye, though he is generally careful about that. I do not know much about him, but Conrad has an air of danger about him that I can't put my finger on. He is a British rat, but he's rarely around." He laughed a little and fidgeted with his ear. "I hate talking like this..."

Tunda nods, taking in the descriptions and names of the ones Mel mentions he should avoid, or at the very least, make sure he's not left alone with, then carefully reaches out and pats Mel's knee apologetically. "I'm sorry... I really am... I just... don't know what I'd do if I ended up back in that situation again..." He mumbles, looking back down at his lap.

"Hey, don't worry about it," he said gently. He glanced down at the other's hand with mild surprise and smiled before turning his gaze up again to look him in the eye. "Everyone has my rules to adhere to if they're going to live here. I say that loosely because I don't want to give the wrong impression. There aren't many rules and they're all meant to be common sense. But people are not allowed to do another harm under my roof, unless that's their thing. It has to be consensual from the start. If anyone breaks this rule, they face my wrath but that of about 20 different others as well." His voice had become low and deadly serious. "This applies to you too, Tunda. People will come to your defense. And if your former masters come to harass you in any way, they will face our wrath."

He blinks and gulps, giving a small nod to show he understood the other. He did indeed still have alot to learn if he were going to try to be more normal. He did have a feeling, though, that if anyone tried to hurt Mel, like Mull had sort of threatened to do before the deal had been made, Tunda would jump to his defense. After all, Mel had saved his life, so he owed Mel his life in return.

It was likely that at this point Tunda could not possibly know that he would have done this for anyone. He had grown up in the 'land of the free and home of the', well, arrogant or overconfident enough to forget one's sense of danger. Actually that was not it. Mel had been very afraid of Mull, not knowing what he was capable of beyond the obvious. But he had done what he could at the time and so far things were working out all right.
It was Mel's turn to pat Tunda on the knee and grin winningly. "Try not to worry about it too much, Tunda. For now you have some difficult times of healing ahead and that is what you should try to focus on."
