Terrie smiled politely back to the shop keeper at her initial greeting. Then her mouth slipped into an open gap. Free?! She looked around to make sure she was the one being addressed to. "Really?"
Hand hovering carefully over each bag, it paused over a dark blue dyed shoulder strap bag with light red flowers stitched into it. "I'll take this one. Thank you!" Spotting Emris, Terrie kept peeking back at the shop to make sure they wouldn't suddenly take back the claim. When she was sure it was real, she practicly ran in her excitement and thrust the bag in front of him. "Emris! Look! That shop over there said I could have it free! Can you believe it!?"

"Oh!" Emris smiled widely and looked at Terrie's prize, "Wow, you have some luck then!" He chuckled happily while enthusiastically looking at the bag, "You picked a very pretty one too." Emris noted warmly handing it back before looking about. Truly though the foxtaur's heart hammered against his chest at Terrie's excitement and he smiled as he thought about things to do today.

Terrie smiled proudly. If Emris thought it was a good choice, then she was even happier about it than before. She clutched her prize to her chest with one hand, somehow still holding the peach basket with the other. Unfortunatly, this left no hand to take Emris'. This made her frown a little, but she was now very protective of her new bag, as any fox got with a new trinket of sorts. She looked up expectantly at the male foxtaur, waiting for directions. .

"Let's head on to the trading place and see how much we can sell our goods for." Whispered Emris as he lead the way across the now busier street and towards a bigger booth where several taurs worked on currency, trades, and other businesses. Leaning over the table towards a familiar centaur Emris grinned."I'm back~"

"Oiy boy." Joked the other centaur with a small smile. "Trading again? I'm serprised that ya don't take yer goods elsewhere..." Trailing off the centaur looked behind Emris towards Terrie with some surprise but shook his head as he took the basket from Emris and started to measure the worth of the items.

Terrie followed Emris happily, still looking at everything. She cocked her head slightly at the look the centaur had given her before setting her basket of peaches down on the counter and stepping back to hide herself behind Emris a little. To ease herself, she inspected her new bag affectionatly.

Negotiating with the centaur over the worth of the whole basket, Emris finally managed to win a nice fat pouch of jingling coins which he knew was a fair price and there was no where else in the marketplace could he get fairer treatment without hassle. Then he watched as the centaur chuckled and opened the basket that Terrie had placed down.

Carefully sorting the jars and fresh peaches into new baskets the centaur looked over at Terrie and grinned at Emris. "Ye two together on this lovely day, mifriend?"

"Umm...yes we are traveling together today." Replied Emris uneasily as he clasped his hands trying to seem calm.

"'ere miss." Waving at Terrie, the centaur held out another pouch of coins with a necklace like drawstring. "A special one to keep close around ya neck." He winked and whispered softly so the distracted Emris wouldn't hear, "Wouldn't want a thief to ruin the day for Em's lady... friend....on such a bright and cheery date...err day after all."

Terrie looked up, almost suprised at being addressed by the centaur. She gave a slight smile. Hanging it around her neck did seem like a good idea. She couldn't help but to lean forward to hear his whisperings, and promptly felt a warmth come to her face at his wordings.
"Th-thank you. That's ver- very considerate." She said, quickly drapping the pouch over her head and backing up again. She looked at Emris and nibbled her lip to hide the smile. Lady friend? That sounded so dignified. Date? That sounded.... pleasant.

"Anytime, miss." Coughing loudly to get Emris's attention the centaur waved towards Terrie, "It's done, finished, paid for whatever ya wanna say but ya better git goin' before everthin' gets over run by late comers."

Blinking Emris nodded embarrassed, "Ye-yeah." Grinning he ran a hand through his hair, "We'll be doing that. Later, Droawin." Quickly he tugged at Terrie's hand and tried to leave before the centaur said anything more.

"Later! An' have fun ya two love birds!"

Blushing madly Emris let go of Terrie's hand and mentally slapped himself at Droawin's words. 'Thought he'd let something like this go...' Murmured the foxtaur sheepishly before moving forward. He dared not look at Terrie right now for fear that something in his expression would give him away.

Terrie nearly stumbled over, looking back at the smirking centaur at least twice as she followed after Emris. How had he known how she felt about Emris?! She briefly wondered if Emris knew the centaur could read minds and emotions, but he must since they were friends. The pale foxtaur didn't seem very pleased with his new knowledge though, and Terrie lowered her eyes to the ground sadly, clutching desperatly to her blue bag.

The silent walk was broken as Emris suddenly tried talking. "Umm...Terrie..." He began but another maddening blush spread warmly across his face and the foxtaur snapped his gaze back forward on the street. "Never...Nevermind."

Soon they approached the main area of the market where already the early smell of lunches and cooking snacks rolled about from various booths and taverns that dotted the street along with shops and booths.

She peeked only slightly up through her bangs, then dropped her head again. She felt she should say something... but things were going to be awkward now.
She smelled the lunches and her stomach clutched in response. It had been a while now since breakfast. "Would... Emris? Can we eat now?" She asked hesitantly. At least the excuse of food in their mouths would keep talking about what had happened and her sadness at bay.

Suddenly stopping Emris slowly nodded at Terrie. "Umm...sure. Anything specific you want to eat, Terrie?" He asked looking at her from the corner of his eye. "If not there's this one tavern that I know which is near...it's got a pretty random menu but everything is usually very tasty." He grew silent again and ran his hand through his hair nervously.

Terrie gave a small nod. "That'd be fine."
Hadn't she taught herself not to get too close to others? But, it had been nice being close to him...

"Alright then!" Emris flashed Terrie a grin and tried to return to their normal atmosphere. "It's...just around the corner here." And there it was...an older looking yet grander tavern with floral and light decorations. A friendly smoke came from the place and the warm scent of food floated towards the foxtaurs invitingly.

With her head still down Terrie missed the grin, but the scents could not be avoided. She finally looked up and gave the inviting building a small smile. She padded after him to the tavern, but her mind was still back at the centaur's counter, her hands still clutching to the bag as before. Was Emris really that upset about hearing her feelings? She hadn't even fully understood them until that stranger had called it out.
