I got most of that, just didn't know bout the kido part. Well, I intend to learn them the slow way at any rate. Thanks though, although I'm not quite sure of the whole 6 abilities in a shikai. Once you obtain Shikai does it unlock all 6 abilities? or are you yet to discover more of them later on?

All shinigami start out with a basic zanpakto without a name, Kidos to 40 in Destructive and Binding areas, basic hand to hand abilities and so on .

For roleplaying purposes, so you know your character, you can "script" out your shikai and bankai powers, so you know what you are growing into. You can't use it yet, but when you get to roleplay out the discovery of powers, you have the end power to use to get the roleplay to. In that case, the Shikai is player knowledge. It also makes for a consistent transition of "theme".

Understand?


Kido to 40? I thought it was only to 10 that you automatically have, but you could learn up to 40.

No that part is kind of misleading.

I define one power of the Shikai, that's generally the "base" theme power. In my case it is motion, in some it might be darkness, in others it may be Ice or Fire. That is the basis of the entire zanpakto, including the avatar.

The six powers are "Variations on a theme". In a Fire based zanpakto, the basic power might be a Fire Dragon, roaring at the opponent and attacking them that way. That is the base.

With that, you might have an attack where the Dragon swollows the opponent, burning them all over. You might have an attack where the Dragon breathes fire on the opponent, you might have a power where the Dragon wraps the opponent up in coils and holds them, you might have one where the Dragon sits on them. Each of those powers are a separate "named" attack, each one does different damage, each can be defended against differently, but each one is the same basic theme. One power with multiple ways of using that power.

Understand? And those are the kinds of things you might discover through roleplay. When Shikai is first found, it's just the fire dragon. Fighting others in play might unlock the "Dragon Coil" attack, and others might unlock the "Dragon Breath" attack.

Sorry, you are right. It's automatic Kido up to 35, once you are in a squad you can learn up to 40.

I may have to take a look at that again.

Sorry, you are right. It's automatic Kido up to 35, once you are in a squad you can learn up to 40.

I may have to take a look at that again.


No, that's just what you can learn. Everyone has automatic kido to 10, can learn up to 35 when not in a squad, can learn up to 40 when unseated, 60 when seated, 80 as a vice-captain, and up to 100 at captain level (reading off the rules...yay tabs). I believe the exclusion is the healing kido, which is 4th squad only.

Damn, and I was getting excited.

Fourth Squad only?! Tensen told me he needed someone who could heal in squad 8. I was gona see if I could be taugh some healing. So your saying I'd have to transfer to squad 4 to even get the chance to learn it?

Not a problem. I need to be getting to bed soon myself (11 PM here, school in the morning). I was still excited though...guess some more powerful kido are going on my list of things to learn.

A bit off-topic, but while you have time, would you mind looking over my bankai concept? I'm not going for the training yet (would like to get shunpo first, as I feel bankai before shunpo is putting the cart before the proverbial horse), but anything I can get cleared up beforehand would be nice.

There's no real rule on it, I was just assuming that the healing kido were exclusive to 4th squad, as they were made for 4th squad. Though, I'm sure if you got permission you could learn some low-level healing.

No. The members of squads can be trained in some healing kidou by an authorized member of Squad 4 (and I don't know how they choose that, do don't ask) to be a "field medic" for their squad, in your case Squad 8. It's extra training, all roleplayed out.

For that you get first aid techniques, some healing kidos and triage and emergency procedures. You would be the equivalent of trained by the Red Cross in First Aid procedures. You could stop bleeding, you could cover a sucking chest wound, and you could find obvious problems. Expert medical care would have to occur at Squad 4 still, but the field medic stuff could save their life. You don't have to change squads.

So, it's limited to 6 diffrent types of attacks? And only one theme correct? If so, is "Twilight" one or two themes? Cause I'm having a tough time choosing between Twilight (light and darkness/or void) and the element of Electricity...

Zanpakuto name: Kaze no Stigma and Azure Flame God


Zanpakuto abilities: UNACHIEVED When the Shikai form is activated, his Zanpakuto becomes invisible because the wind allows it to do so,it also changes in lenght making the enemy unable to predict the attack easily, the blade can cut through most things easily. He can track others using his wind based abilities and make a shield of sorts against physical attacks, though it's not inpenetrable. In other words Wind manipulation at it's peak. Though not primarily an offensive Zanpakuto it is still quite formidable with the right strategies. Once activated it performs an automatic kekkai able to sense things around 1KM of distance from the user, it can be used for tracking and also support of water and fire elemental Zanpakutos, it can use flight, difract light making the user invisible in a way and as for bullet or laser related attacks it can divert their path and/or stop them by focusing air pressure, by lowering air pressure it can also make others faint, though this takes a while to actually take effect and it's more for stealth rather than a battle. It might not be the strongest but it is definitively the fastest element to handle, meaning that instead of taking on an attacker at full offensive it simply strikes before the opponent can charge up his attacks

It's offensive attacks are slicing air waves or air strikes, which are like fists composed of air pressure

His second sword makes it so that his blades catch on Azure Fire that is much stronger than foxfire, it's abilities are boosted by his wind abilities and he can freely control the fire itself apart from being able to use it with his blades. Instead of two twin blades they become chakrams of flame that can be manipulated


Bankai: UNACHIEVED During bankai his eyes turn blue and his Zanpakuto dissolves completely and Loki gains full control of the winds, making him able to even summon up massive storms

The Final Form of the Azure Flame God causes the user himself to be engulfed and unaffected by the flames themselves and all heat from external sources, he can manipulate the flames freely to a greater extent, rather than simple streams, fireballs or just figures and instead make the fire come to life for short periods of time, his phisical aspect also changes making him stronger, he looks kinda like this:

Special Accessories: Kitsune ball, an item all kitsune carry. He shaped it as a small earring to keep it safe and hidden

Skills: He is a skilled and well rounded martial artist, he's a good strategist and knows how to act well, although his swordsmanship is lacking. A practitioner of Xinyi Liuhe (心意六合, Heart and Mind Six Harmonies), the Henan Branch of Xingyiquan (形意拳), one of the three main internal styles and an anti-weapons specialist .




Abilities: He is naturally very agile and smart, he has good reflexes and great hearing. He also has a good nose. Another ability is to morph between human and fox form, he can also do a partial transformation regarding his human and fox form

Personality: Loki likes to flirt quite a bit, he's not one to back down from anything and he likes to take initiative on things. He is not a leader or a team player, he dislikes taking on responsability for others and prefers working alone.


Biography/History: A kitsune spirit that lived for a few 10,000 years or so, he was a void and wind elemental kitsune, he liked playing pranks and was killed by a myobu, because he himself is a nogitsune and thus went against Inari's will. During his life he wasn't one to show off, reveal his precense or get involved with others, he prefered to relax and trick others and watch as his pranks took their desired effect, he manipulated catastrophic events behind the scenes for his own amusement and spread chaos for the fun of it. He used to be a nine tailed nogitsune, which was extremely rare for his kind seeing as they were usually one-tailed. As it is, he isn't looked well upon even by nogitsune, seeing as he has had too much impact upon the human world. It is unknown how he obtained so many tails in such a short amount of time(for a nogitsune) but upon his death his power was taken and now he is currently on the process of getting back two of his nine tails. His normal humanoid appearance is that of a young black headed male with amber eyes, he also likes to use his female form.

Powers: Kitsune-Bi= Blue fox fire, a natural ability for all kitsune
Transformation= Another skill most Kitsune possess

Void elemental control

Manipulation- He mastered the skill of mental suggestion at a young age

Illusion- He can cast a few illusions like all kitsune and has mastered it enough to bend reality to his will(yes kitsune actually have this abilty depending on their heritage)

Kitsune Illusions(how they work in actual mythology)-To a kitsune, their illusions are reality. What they make, for them, and for others, is as real as anything found or crafted in nature. Anything that a kitsune builds or transforms, becomes what the kitsune desired. A kitsune can make people, animals, and objects, which can't be distinguished from the real thing.

The more kitsune team up to make things, the more can be made. A handful of kitsune can build a city if they desired.

Transformation- As a Kitsune he can transform into anything, from a rock to a person, but even if he IS transforming into someone else he does not gain the person's innate abilities

Name: Retsu Semono (Reht-su Seh-moh-no)

Aliases/ Nicknames: None as of yet.

Physical Description: Appears 19 years old. Brownish-reddish hair down to the middle of his back, drawn into a ponytail. He has Ice-blue eyes, a diamond shaped earring and a clip on his left ear. He wears his Shinigami gi with one sleeve on his left arm, and no sleeve on his right arm. He wears a leather bracer on his left forearm. He has a tattoo of a barcode under his left eye. He wears a collar with a bell on it. He wears black, fingerless leather gloves. His shinigami robes are sleeveless, and look like they were torn off.

Zanpacto: Not yet acquired.
Zanpakuto: The blade appears as a Sapara with a winged handguard and a red and black hourglass symbol near the hilt.

Shikai: Not yet acquired.Tobundaraion (Winged Lion) After shouting "Seek and Destroy, Tobundaraion", it changes from a sapara to an elongated blade with silver finish. The handle becomes that of a gun and a trigger forms near the finger and a button on the handle near the thumb. The winged handguard becomes sharp and surrounds the hilt. A spiked chain comes out of the bottom of the handle and raps all the way up Retsu's arm.

Kibaku Hane ((Exploding Feather)): Retsu pulls the trigger on his blade and the "feathers" fly towards his enemy. Retsu can use his reiatsu to change their direction if the the enemy moves. Once the "feathers" reach their target, Retsu can then push the button near his thumb to make them explode. The feathers then reform on the blade. The downside to this ability is that the feathers are made of reiatsu, which when he starts to run out, the spiked chain will tighten more and more around his arm with each use.

Senkou Hane ((Flash Feathers)): Retsu infuses his reiatsu into a few feathers and throws them at his opponent. They explode in a flash of bright, white light that blinds his enemy.

Trip-mine Feathers: Retsu shunpoes around the area laying down his feathers and covering them just as quick. He infuses his reiatsu into them which surround the feather in a dome of reiatsu that is triggered when someone elses reiatsu comes into contact with it. When triggered they explode.

Hane Kou ((Feather Rain)): Retsu infuses his reiatsu into a few feathers and throws them into the air. He can hold them there with his reiatsu for as long as he needs, and they begin to split. When he wills, they fall out of the sky onto the target.

Nijuushin hane ((Double reality feather)): Retsu infuses his reiatsu into a feather and throws it into the ground. Using his reiatsu he can mold a flesh and blood copy of whatever he wants as long as he's seen it. This ability takes a lot of reiatsu and isn't perfected yet. He can't do more then one at a time and has to wait til his reiatsu charges to use it again.

Bankai:Not yet acquired. Gekkido Sono Tobundaraion ((Rage of the Winged Lion. Retsu loses his blade and partially transforms into Tobundaraion himself. During this transformation, any injuries he has incurred up this point are healed, allowing him to fight fresh, where the enemy is still hurt. His hair grows out and he grows a beard to represent a mane. The nails on his hands and feet become razor sharp, as well as his teeth. His senses, speed and strength increase tenfold, and the "feathers" from his blade from on his back to become wings. This ability collects all the rage in his body and unleashes it while in a calm state of mind.

Inmetsu Hane ((Destruction Feather)): The feathers on his back fly out at lightning speed and explode on impact, the downside to this is that these feathers are made of reiatsu, and if he runs out he gets cut by every blade that grows back.

Hane Shi-rudo ((Feather Shield)): He can surround himself with his wings to block attacks that are weaker. Stronger attacks get through but do less damage.

Special Accessories: The bracer on his left arm hides a scar from a snake bite.

Skills: He is very strong and quick, having trained his body with his father as a human. He has very sharp senses and can see and hear farther then most people.

Abilities: Very good eyes and ears, very quick and strong, gets mad pretty easily, can think on his feet.

Personality: Retsu can be quiet and introspective at times, and doesn't always say what's on his mind. He can open up though once you get to know him. He gets mad pretty easily so you don't want to get on his bad side. He's very nice to people and helps anyone when they need it. When he falls someone he usually falls for them hard and fast. He's a hopeless romantic and somewhat of a flirt.

Biography/History:
Retsu lived with his father and sister in Kabuya. It was a small little country village, with houses sporadically spread about. His mother died giving birth to his sister, Miki. Retsu felt helpless after his mothers death and trained his body so he could protect the ones he loved. On his 15th birthday, his father gave him a pair of revolvers, and trained him in the way's of a gunslinger. He trained for 4 hard years, sharpening his skills and honing his senses. He had surpassed his father after that short amount of time.
One day, Retsu and Miki were out walking along a river, taking in the scenery. The were staring at the clouds as they were walking by and Miki was laughing. It had rained a little while ago and you could still smell it on the air. Retsu thought he heard something moving around in the bushes by his sister, but he thought it was the wind. They decided to get a drink from the river, as they were both parched. When Miki went down to get a handful of water, a snake slithered up behind her and prepared to strike. Retsu saw it and threw his sister aside as the snake bit the main artery on his left wrist. His sister ran to get help as he lay there dying in the dirt, as the snake slithered away from him.

Physical Description: 6"3, 190 pounds. Ken has many different scars hidden across torso covered by his robing.

Zanpakuto:

Name: Etai Chou ( Nature's Butterfly)

Shikai:

Release: Save Them Etai Chou...

Etai Chou (Nature's Butterfly): When Ken releases his zanpakuto the hilt will change and form butterfly wings, when Ken is in the area of a wounded victim about 20 feet he will draw the reiatsu of whomever wounded the person from the wound in the shape of green orbs. As these leave the wound will heal and upon healing 3 wounds Ken will form a large green sphere of energy at the tip of his zanpakuto. After he compacts the sphere will fire off at his opponent.

Etai Tate (Nature's Shield): Ken may point his zanpakuto in the general area of an attack and create a large shield that reflects pretty much all spiritual attacks and can block most physical ones. The Shield is in the shape of large butterfly wings, once summoned the shield may not be moved but it may be released and summoned in a new area. If the shield is broken it may not be used for another 2 turns ( if the attacker has a higher ranked seat than Him the shield will crack upon the first attack and then be destroyed upon the 2nd)

Etai Ken ( Nature's Blade): Upon using this technique the butterfly shaped guard on Ken's zanpakuto will glow and emit a large green light which will coat his blade and make it much stronger and sharper. This technique takes the inner pain Ken has from his past and focuses it into his blade in the form of reiatsu making the sword able to cut through certain kido much easier and also cut through other objects in the same fashion.

Bankai:

Release: Protect All Etai Chou

Etai Tsubasa ( Nature's Wings): Upon Releasing his zanpakuto into it's Bankai state Ken's hand guard which is shaped like butterflies wings will glow and then explode reforming onto his back forming massive wings, in this state he will move 2x as fast as normal and will also be 2x as strong as normal. The wings are made of pure reiatsu meaning Ken will frequently use them to shield his teammates from certain attacks.

Etai Matsu (Natures Powder): When Ken finds someone wounded he will appear over them and place his wings across their body. As his wings touch his body sparkling powder like reiatsu will flow into the wounded persons body and cause them to slowly heal. This healing knows no bounds and will heal almost anything from lost limbs to poisons. This is Ken's ultimate healing technique.

Etai Moui ( Nature's Fury) : Upon seeing one of his teammates wounded Ken can charge his zanpakuto and watch as it glows a bright green. Upon charging it fully ( About one post) Ken will fire off hundreds of green spheres from the tip of his zanpakuto. Each one of these spheres is about 1/2 the size of his shikai's attack. After firing his zanpakuto will lose it's glow begin to steam as it recovers from the monstrous attack. This attack may not be used twice in a row, it requires a 2 post cool down.

Etai Itami ( Nature's Pain) : Ken must stab someone 2 times for this attack to work. This does not need to be in the same place as long as it is 2 times the attack will work. After stabbing someone the first time some of his reiatsu will leak into the opponents body. Once the second stab is landed the reiatsu will link with his sword and upon Ken mentioning " Etai Itami" the reiatsu from his sword and the previously embedded reiatsu will grow a bright green and explode outward causing the opponent to experience all of the pain or she has caused and or all of the pain Ken has healed in that battle. This attack is not used to kill, it will only cause extreme pain and most likely the opponent to lose consciousness or become temporarily paralyzed with pain.

Special Accessories: Etai's Scarf - this scarf was especially given to him, woven by the finest fibers it allows him to gather his Reiatsu much easier and also manipulate it even better than he normally would

Skills: Medic/ strong close range fighter (hand to hand and swordsmanship)

Abilities: Super Human Strength, Remarkable Control of Reiatsu, and Amazing Agility

Personality: Happy, Smart, Playful, Caring and Strapping.

Biography/History: Ken was born into the poor section of the rukongai. He grew up looking out for others as they did for him, one big family. As he grew older he realized that this was not the place for him so he decided to join the shinigami academy. He quickly soared through the ranks of the shinigami academy and finally graduated. Upon graduation he chose to join the 4th Division. He decided he would become the best 4th division Captain that ever lived as he wanted to heal and protect people as best he could ensuring that they wouldn't come to harm. He believes this want came from when he was a child in the Rukongai and was forced to watch his friends grow sick or weak and die before his eyes. Upon seeing this he vowed he would protect and save as many shinigami as he could no matter the cost.
