Godfrey stuck out his tongue and grabbed Josh's hand, excitedly leading him through the small front gate. "It's only two stories, really. Do you like the garden? I told you it was cool, it was planted when we were still kids but Adela keeps it nice."
He was very excited to show off his boyfriend to his family. Josh was just too wonderful to keep to himself! And he was really hoping Harry had made something good for lunch- he'd promised he would.
Godfrey walked Josh down the sidewalk to the front door, past oddly shaped bushes and colourful bunches of flowers. Hedges boxed in all sides of the yard, adding to the illusion that you were walking into some sort of secret garden, that maybe something even better lay behind the front door.
"Adela's room is on that side." He pointed to the upper left windows. "Mine's facing the backyard."
Godfrey looked up at Josh and grinned even wider. "Don't worry, I'll tell you exactly how to sneak in, later."

Josh shook his head and squeezed Godfrey's hand a bit, trying to calm his nerves. Never really went home to meet anyone's parents before, let alone for a dating thing. He felt very awkward especially now, standing in front of the huge house with the beautiful flowers and perfectly manicured lawn. He had to literally swallow his breakfast again. Didn't taste too bad, actually.
"Godfrey, you sure they're cool with this? Jus' seems weird to me somehow..." Josh scrunched up his nose, frowning. He knew they wouldn't have a problem with the gay thing at least, since they were a gay couple themselves but still.

Godfrey half-snorted, half-guffawed at Josh's question, but stifled it quickly. "Um..sorry but..... no.. they're... um... excited to meet you. They've been bugging me to bring you over for ages."
Poor Josh, he had no idea what was coming.
"Besides, after this you'll be able to come over all the time." Godfrey grinned a sly grin, reaching for the doorknob.

Gilderoy was prowling the kitchen in a fit of anxiety, occasionally snapping at Harry as his husband attempted to make lunch; his remarks were criticizing of the other male’s cooking style, but held no genuine heat, as the former novelist was simply fussing out of nervousness. Which was not an emotion displayed often but the usually over-confident Lockhart – but this was his baby, his adoring son, bringing his boyfriend home to meet them and pass their quiet parental judgments. This was being a father, to its fullest extent, and he was frightfully out of practice.
“Aren’t you done yet?” the novelist hissed, rounding on Harry once more, “I think I hear them outside! You’ll ruin everything if lunch isn’t done, we’ll all be standing here awkwardly while you – you flit around – ” the flustered male gestured wildly with his hands, “Sexy and tempting me with your display of parental CALM!”
The comment made little sense to anyone but Gilderoy, but the blonde was in a fit.

"Sexy?" Harry was bent over the brick oven, an oven mitt on his hand, his favourite apron scrunched over his knees to prevent it from touching the hot metal door as he retrieved home-made biscuits from where they were cooking above the fire.
Harry looked over his shoulder at his a**, and couldn't help but give it a little shake in Gilderoy's direction. He was nervous himself, but was better at hiding it. He also thought at least one of them had to try to be calm about all of this.
Harry stood and slid the hot pan onto the cooling rack, then killed the flames. A practiced movement of his foot had the oven door back in the correct position before he'd even finished untying his apron.
"I'm sure it's going to be fine, Gilderoy." Harry ran his hand through his hair, a visible sign of nervousness, but still kept a calm face. "Why don't we go see if they're at the door? The food only needs to be put out, and we can get the boys to help with that."

Xenophilius was outside on the vast back porch, helping Adela set two of the four, eight person round picnic tables in preparation for the meal. He hoped the boy, Josh, wouldn't be too overwhelmed by all the fanfare.
Xenophilius was rather out of his element today. His beloved Luna had never lived long enough to bring home a boyfriend- at least one that wasn't wholly imaginary. However he was as unfettered as usual. Godfrey was a good boy- despite some odd tendencies and all his bottled up teenage angst- and he knew whoever his boyfriend was, he had to be a good person. He was rather looking forward to Harry and Gilderoy's responses and interactions. Harry was already coping by being over-prepared for the situation. Gilderoy of course was healthily venting as what appeared to be his normal coping method. Adela just seemed rather amused at everything, however he knew she already had to have known this boy from school.
Xeno placed a pitcher of lemony iced tea in the middle of one of the tables and dried the condensed water from the pitcher off on his dark jeans. "I think the boys have arrived."

Adela put the last cloth napkin on the last plate, and tilted her head, ears twitching. She didn't hear anything.
"Well, I don't hear anything, but I suppose. My dear brother is never late."
Adela shook her head so her hair fell down her shoulders, heading off eagerly into the house with a little bounce in her step. This was going to be so much fun to watch. Her tail twisted and curled up in her glee, pink lips pursed and curved into a small smile.
Godfrey was going to be the first to bring someone home to meet their parents. Ohhohoho~ her Slytherin traits were showing as she thought about ways she could tease her smaller brother today. It would almost be too easy. And it helped that she had already met Josh before, while studying with Godfrey and other activities.

Xeno hummed, ignoring the slight, and went and retrieved Roderick where he was laying on a blanket on his back in the shade, playing with a portable wizarding mobile. He tucked the baby against him with one arm, smoothing down the white hair.
Roderick was a a quiet one, observant like himself. Didn't make much of a fuss and always seemed to overcome the milestones of an infant with humility and without need for fanfare. A strange child, and that was one of the reasons why Xenophilius loved him more than anything.

Gilderoy gave Harry an impatient swat on the a**, making an irritated scoff in the back of his throat, before sweeping from the kitchen and out to the front door to head off his son and Joshua, intent on dominating the space with his charisma.
“So THIS is the musician we’ve heard so much about!” Gilderoy crowed loudly upon opening the door and finding the boys lingering; he raised his voice in an effort to startle Josh, attempting to seize control through flamboyance and aggressive cheerfulness. “A handsome choice, Godfrey, truly – come in, Joshua, come in!”

Josh blankly stared at Gilderoy while his brain tried to process what he was saying. He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something but he couldn't think of any response that would be appropriate. Thank you? Hello? It wasn't what he was expected. No introduction since they all obviously knew each others names and faces at least.
".... Um. Okay." Josh blinked, noticed he was staring, and entered the house as instructed, shaking his head a bit. He could instantly smell the freshly baked bread and his stomach did another flip-flop, like perhaps eating wouldn't be the greatest of ideas at the moment. Or maybe he was just hungry. He couldn't tell.

"Papaaa!" Godfrey blushed and kept a hold of Josh's hand to help his nerves, but was practically bouncing himself.
"Okay, well this is my Papa, and.." Godfrey pointed to Harry, who was just coming out of the kitchen, apron free and washing his hands. "That's my Dad, of course. Um... and you know my sister, and that's Xeno and my brother Roddy."
Everyone was converging rather quickly, so he was trying to get formal introductions out as fast as possible. Besides that, the food smelled really good and was making him hungry.

"Well, you're a tall one, aren't you?" Harry commented as he came out of the kitchen, drying his hands. He looked Josh up and down- cute boy, strange hair. He appeared nervous, looked like he was big enough to eat a horse, and Harry felt himself warming to him immediately.
"It's nice to finally meet you." Harry paused a moment before moving forward, bringing both boys into a brief hug. Godfrey was still bouncing in his eagerness, which Harry found rather amusing.
He stepped back after a moment, so as not to make their guest any more uncomfortable than he already appeared to be.

Xenophilius moved forward and took a hold of Josh's free hand, giving it a rather strong shake.
"Xenophilius Lovegood, pleasure to meet you." Xeno smiled serenely and took a step back, adjusting the baby somewhat.

"Ah yes, well.. hmm..." Harry tapped a finger absently on his chin. "Would you like a tour of the house, Josh? Or would you prefer just dig in?"
Harry smiled, trying to look as welcoming and reassuring as possible.
