Jason took a moment letting the words run over him. Slowly his mind put the pieces into order. Then laughed about 30 seconds late. “You will need to speak a little slower Jun. Japanese is my fifth language and I only use it when discussing business so I am a bit slow unless you want to talk business or politics.” Jason walked through the bathroom into his room and unlocked the door and turned on the lights, keeping his eyes closed so as not to feel the sting of the lights. Jason opened his eyes slowly, looked back at Jun through the door ways. “Now I could tell you what I do but, what …what… fun is that. If you don’t mind … throwing on a pair of pants and giving me a hand I will show you why I am here." Jason smiled and walked out his door heading to the elevator. Jun must be a trust worthy guy Jaydn wouldn’t stick me next to a guy that he couldn’t trust.

The hour passed quickly, Jaydn much more awake though in no better mood. After he hung up with his brother, he gathered some select documents from his desk and, coffee mug in one hand and the papers in another, he went to the stated conference room. He sat down at the head of the long table, a pen out as he reviewed the reports he had. Before long, Maddox joined him in the room, taking a seat beside Jaydn with his own pile of papers. After him, the rest of the group arrived.
Once each member was seated, Jaydn surveyed those who attended. Though he had heard she had come back, Jaydn wasn't too surprised to see that his cousin, Felix, had opted to sit out on the meeting, she was always hard to track down, even if they were staying in the same building. He was however surprised to see the crossdresser in the room. Did Maddox...? Somehow he didn't doubt the notion that perhaps the middle Matsui brother felt bad for the strange crossdresser and, in an attempt to make it feel accepted, offered it an invitation. Damn it Maddox, this is a business. While on the subject, he couldn't help but blame Kyrin as well for the crossdresser's lingering presence within the building. Speaking of...
Jaydn took a look at his cousin. The bruise upon her face was still very apparent. He had the delusional hope that he had imagined it but there it was, still glaringly obvious even under the layer of foundation that it seemed Kyrin had tried to hide it under. She's going to get me disinherited at this rate. Jaydn wanted to know what it was that Kyrin was so intent upon doing that she allowed herself to be hurt like that. He wouldn't ask her now, but she couldn't keep running from him.
His cool grey eyes continued to sweep the table. Ms. Al-kohen, Charles, Miles... He took a second glance at the Russian. It seemed Miles had gotten into a bit of trouble himself. Ah, he did say he was stopping by that bar for a game. Looks like someone was a sore loser. Jaydn would ask him of his findings in a moment.
Jason, Jun'ichi, Xavier. Jaydn did not expect to have anyone else come in for the meeting. The rest of this department heads were currently out, taking care of their own duties. He would fill them in at a later time, though he doubted any of the information to be passed now concerned them.
"Good Morning. I'm glad to see you all got the memo. As I'm sure you've noticed, we have some new faces among us, one being a returning member. I am aware that some of you are already familiar with one another but for those who aren't, let me do a quick run through of each person. Ms. Kyrin Matsui, Mr. Charles Sweetland, Mr. Miles Morozov, Mr. Xavier Matsui, Mr. Jun'ichi Kato, Mr. Jason Oriole, and Ms. Malika Al-Kohen." He gestured to each person in turn as he said their names.
Continuing, he added, "You should each know who I am, else you shouldn't be here." He gave a brief smile and went on, immediately diving into business, "Just as a quick overview, I'd like to inform everyone that our domination of the city is progressing as scheduled. We've successfully dispatched four of the larger gangs in the area, having eliminated some of the members and adding some of the stronger members to our own 'organization'. I assume each of you are following up diligently with your areas. If I may have your reports." As he stopped to listen to each of the members, his peripheral vision caught Maddox pulling out a blank piece of paper and holding a pen ready to its surface.

Kyrin sat near the head of the table in the seat just one to the right of Maddox, with Nori sitting next to her. She was dressed simply in a dark business suit, with the jacket left unbuttoned to show her wrinkle free dress shirt. She sat back in her chair slightly with one leg crossed over the other. Nori had managed to work wonders on her eye, with very minimal complaining from Ky as he did it, but it was still evident that Kyrin had gotten into a bit of trouble, and very recently at that. Her bright eyes watched Jaydn’s as his gaze lingered on Nori and she smiled a bit on the inside, Poor Jaydn, He shouldn’t let Nori upset him so! When Jaydn’s gray eyes met hers she looked away, glancing around the table. She knew that Jaydn was still having his “internal fit”, as she called it, and would track her down eventually, Perhaps I should just add it in my report, then he can get the hell off my back.
Ky surveyed the table just like Jaydn was. Her gaze stopped for a moment on Molly, looking the woman over. Even though Ky didn’t like the idea of another woman coming in, she had to admit that she was impressed by the way Molly dressed. Seeing Charles next, Kyrin smiled, and Charles returned it. She saw slight confusion in his eyes but not being able to answer the question she knew he had with a look she turned her attention to Miles. Well he looks nice. She thought, As always. She didn’t linger on him long before she saw Jun. She wondered for a moment if he was going to keep up his flirting act for long, or if it was just going to get worse. Either way, Kyrin turned to Jason, before Jun could make eye contact and give her that over happy smile. Jason stood out to Kyrin since she had never met the man. He had an interesting air about him and she wasn’t sure what to make of him. Once he spoke, maybe she could place it, but until then he was a mystery.
After Jaydn finished his introductions, Kyrin was immediately irked. Just because he doesn’t like Nori, doesn’t mean he needs to overlook him. Since Kyrin was the closet to Jaydn in seating, she would begin the reports. Before she began though, she sought to remedy Jaydn’s obvious rudeness. She turned to those assembled, ”It seems that my cousin has forgotten someone.” She glanced to him, before turning back to the group. Gesturing to her right she said, ”For those of you who don’t know, this is Nori Blauvelt.” She then shifted the papers that she had settled in front of her and handed them to Maddox. ”The man who runs the bar off of 43rd heard rumor that there is a new gang present that we hadn’t yet heard about. Evidently they formed just recently. I had a few men go check it out and it seems that they are a very large in number and they are being supplied some pretty decent artillery.” She shifted in her chair, ”I haven’t heard much back from our men yet, but they might be a threat to us. We will continue to keep an eye on it until we can better assess the situation.”
”Also, we might have some trouble from a man, Mr.Walters, who frequents, or I should say did frequent Marigolds down on L. He’s a bit of a loose canon and I am afraid that he is prone to lying to destroy others. I think that we should be keeping an eye on him and those who work under him.” Kyrin finished with that, knowing that Miles would likely elaborate more on the night before.

Charles sat forward in his chair, the seat looking small compared to his size. He was looking over some notes that he had made and a couple charts that he had printed out. The incident this morning laid heavily on his mind as he thought on the scrambling around that had occurred when he walked into his office yelling earlier that morning. Yelling was the last thing that Charles wanted to do, especially in the morning, it made the rest of the day rather under par. When he finally had looked up from his paper he was pleased to see that everyone had made it. Charles himself had been there a little early, needing to get out of his office before someone lost a limb. He’d cooled down considerably once he’d left his office.
Smoothing out a wrinkle on his suit jacket he noticed that Jason had returned. Well at least there is one plus for the day. Wonder if he has anything cool for the kids this time. Charles knew that Jason always brought presents from his trips and welcomed them, thanking the other man by giving him things back or taking him out drinking or to the casinos for some fun. Charles looked around casually. He caught Kyrin’s eyes and stared in confusion for a moment. Miss Kyrin’s eye is…? What? It was a wonder to Charles how that could have happened. A quick glance over at Miles and Charles frowned. Miles had a split lip. He wouldn’t have done it, but how did she end up like that? Charles couldn’t fathom that they would have happened to have both gotten in separate fights the night before, but he was having a bit of trouble piecing the two together.
When Jaydn motioned to him and said his name, Charles nodded politely. And as the talk turned to business, Charles turned to Kyrin, he would be after her. Having noticed that Nori was skipped in the introductions as well, Charles was pleased to see that Kyrin had introduced the boy. The way she had done it though, was no more polite, in Charles’ opinion then Jaydn had been when he left the boy’s name out. These two… Charles shook his head slightly, the father in him seeing their childish antics immediately.
Charles had listened to Jaydn’s report with pleasure, he was glad that they were on schedule, but when Kyrin started her report he realized that she was not the only one with bad news. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be one of those bad meetings… He thought and then when she finished, the light bulb went off in his head. Marigolds on L. And 24th. Charles remembered that it was the game that Miles had invited him to and Charles remembered telling Miles that he should bring someone for safety. I should have gone. He thought warily, Because now Han’s daughter has a fat bruise on her pretty face. His eyes went to Miles again, wondering why the other man had taken her and how it was that she had gotten her face hit while he was with her.
Shaking the thought to the back of his head, Charles cleared his throat. ”It seems that Miss Kyrin is not the only one with grim news. This morning we lost a good chunk of our money due to one of my,” He paused to calm himself a little, ”…men deciding that they ought to try something new. Unfortunately he didn’t sell it back soon enough and now we are stuck collecting from a few people in the area. I assure you that it will not happen again and that he will be finding his common sense.” He said that last bit to Jaydn. ”Here are the mornings charts.” He concluded, pushing them towards Maddox.

Jason was one of the last to walk into the room. He was pulling a large metal box it measured 3’ by 2’ by 16” it had little wheels on the bottom and a handle on the top making look like a briefcase meant for an ogre. As he sat down he really wished he had had more time. After fetching his things from his car he had only the time to shower and change. Well at least he had had the time to change. He was wearing a dark blue shirt with black pin stripes, black slacks and dress shoes. He had in four carat diamond cuff links and earring, no tie, but a platinum crucifix adorned his neck and a Rolex fastened around his wrist. Looking around he felt a bit under dressed but this style was comfortable and it fit him well.
Jason’s eyes felt heavy as Jaydn began to introduce everyone. His eyes sleepily followed Jaydn’s gestures around the table committing faces to memory. He began to zone out as Jaydn continued on, eyes feeling like lead weights. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pill bottle. Opening it quietly he poured a few pills into his hand. The bottle contained a mixture of caffeine pill and other stimulants. Sweet three blue pills. Jason picked out the yellow one and the white one. Putting them into his mouth he picked up the glass of water in front of him and swallowed them down. He then put the blue ones into his mouth and began to chew them. Capping the bottle he placed it back into his pocket. Most would pass out foaming at the mouth from the dose of stimulants Jason had just taken but Jason’s tolerance was so high after years of abusing the drugs he had to take this many just to feel it.
The drugs had just started to kick in when Mrs. Kyrin Matsui turned slightly to her side and introduced Nori. Dear lord she is a pretty thing, and confident enough to wear such a light sun dress in a room full of mafia thugs. So she isn’t just pretty but has a sense of individuality and isn’t afraid to express it. Damn girl that’s sexy. Small bust size but … those lips, so soft, so tender, so juicy… hmmm…I would do wrong things to that girl all night long. Holy ******** those eyes! Nori’s eyes had meet with Jason’s for just a fleeting moment but those soft brown eyes almost sparkled in the light. Jason hardly heard a thing that came from Kyrin’s mouth; he eagerly awaited the young girl to speak he hoped that her voice was a sweet as her eyes. Anything that comes from lips like that must be music. A scowl came over his face as Charles began to talk. They skipped her! Mother ******** Charles, you ******** b*****d. ****** shut up and let the girl talk. Jason was more upset that Charles had popped him out of his day dream, then he was at Charles. Jason shrugged I guess this beauty will just remain a mystery for the time being. Wait did Charles just say, we lost money? He was always afraid to take risks. I wonder what the Matsui girly had been talking about? I think I heard the next door neighbor kid have some new toys, well just wait till they see the toys uncle Jason brought with him. Jason tapped his fingers on the box that was seated next to him. He counted the people between him and Charles. looks like I am going next to last. Jason leaned back in his chair his eyes drinking up the beauty of this mystery woman Nori.

As soon as the meeting had started, Nori immediately felt out of place. He had expected the "meeting" to have far more people, lecture-like perhaps, but this was an intimately small number of people and seemed like important business. Nori shuffled uncomfortably in his chair as Jaydn stared him down and was glad that he continued speaking without bringing attention to him. Nori sighed to himself, deciding to pretend he wasn't even in the room. He was already the black sheep; or in this case the white sheep in a room of dark clothes and suits, so it would be best to not bring attention to himself.
He heard Kyrin start speaking. Jaydn forgot someone? Who? and had to look down at the desk in embarrassment as she mentioned his name. He leaned back in his chair, hoping it would swallow him up. Daring to glance upwards, he saw that more than a few people were looking at him, including the new face Jaydn had introduced as Jason. Probably wondering what someone like me is doing here...
As Kyrin continued, Nori studied the new faces shyly. Molly, whom he had seen in the kitchen earlier with her charming professional appearance gave him hope that maybe she would be one more kind person to be around. Jun'ichi seemed to be another japanese man, which wasn't unusual, and Jason was somewhat intimidating , but Nori would have to see for himself what type of people they were. At least, he figured, if he had adequate training, maybe someday he could be in here and actually belong.

Miles leaned into his chair confidently, somewhat used to the protocol. He listened to Jaydn, and then moved his darkened eyes to Ky. When she wasn't dressed like a vixen, she was looking powerful and professional, which was somehow even sexier. He tried not to stare at her too long, but had at least noticed that her bruise was well covered. It still shone through, but it was very much an improvement by a skilled artist. Perhaps Ky or her maid-boy friend had spent a lot of time on it.
But now that he noticed it...Is he wearing a dress? Miles couldn't believe he had only just noticed him there. The youth was so quiet that it was almost like he was Kyrin's shadow. Undoubtedly she had brought Nori along but... Wait, was he actually a she this whole time? That would probably make more sense considering the two were so close. Perhaps she was just a tomboy. He'd have to keep that in mind so as not to offend her in the future.
Kyrin had left a bit of vague details for Miles to fill in when his turn would come around. Charles had had a bit of a setback himself, which seemed to have really miffed him. Understandable, considering how particularly rare his mishaps were. Something the both of them could rant about over drinks, he was sure.
Strumming his fingers on the file in front of him, Miles adjusted his glasses and started speaking as well. "As Miss Kyrin had touched on earlier, Marigold's is a very decent place for information. " For half a second, Miles thought of skipping over the part where they had gone to Marigold's together, but it was useless. Jaydn should have a taste of truth, even if it meant being reprimanded. "As you know Jaydn, I went there for a game of poker and to make relations with some new associates in the city. The game was cut short, by a brawl, for lack of better word. I shouldn't have brought Miss Kyrin along, but it was a good opportunity for her to enforce the Matsui name and see who was loyal to Han. It's regrettable that we came out with a few scrapes, as you all can no doubt see," Miles strained not to smile as he continued. "But our efforts were successful nonetheless. " He casually slid the somewhat small file in the direction of Maddox and Jaydn. Miles had gone through the trouble fun of arranging his report in a detailed, yet greatly simplified way. It made everyone else's work easier that way. Well, at least Maddox might appreciate it. " I made some interesting contacts (listed inside), and one man who was interested in combining with us for some financial aid. He deals in casinos, the largest being Stardust, and it would be a great project to sink our claws into. No official negotiations have been made, considering we were uninterrupted by an exceptionally rude and tacky man who goes by 'Walters', but we have contact information, so it's no skin off our back." He absent-mindedly cracked his neck to the side. "We should probably scope out the listed casinos anyways, particularly Stardust to double-check if it's worth it. " Of course it was worth it, but Miles stayed modest, and didn't say it outloud. That was for Jaydn to decide.
Leaning back in his chair again, he kept eye contact with Jaydn to see if he had anything to say in response for now, or else wait patiently through another report and talk about it in detail later.

Jun took a seat next to his new found friend and roommate, Jason. Giving the man a polite smile. The room was full of new faces to Jun, but the one that caught his attention was Kyrin's, or more specifically the glaring bruise on her face. Jun wanted to go to her and hold her, to tell her she would be ok, to swear vengeance for her name and her fathers name, to... Jun's attention was diverted momentarily by the girl seated next to Ky. He did a double take and forgot exactly what he had been thinking a moment ago. The girl was a blinding light of perfection among the sea of black suits. Jun himself was dressed modestly in jeans and a white tee shirt, but he knew that if Jaydn had wanted a professional executive he would not have keep Jun around. The girls dress was inconsequential to Jun, what struck him so strongly was her pure skin and her sharply glowing eyes. When Kyrin introduced the girl, Jun could see that they had come as a pair. Jackpot! Buy one get one free! Talk about two birds! Realizing he had missed most of what Kyrin had said, Jun turned to Jason. "Did you catch what she said?" Jun resolved to listen better to what the rest were to say. When Miles explained the bruise Kyrin was wielding, Jun made a note to visit this bar and get details.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Why does everyone feel it necessary to ruin my day dreams. Jason turned his gaze away from the beautiful Nori and looked at Jun. Jason’s mind raced backwards through the words he had just heard but didn’t process; to find the question Jun had asked. Not wanting to disturb the meeting with speech Jason pulled his PDA from his pocket and opened a writing program. Jason was careful to keep it beneath the table as not to seem too rude. When Jason had finished writing he turned the device towards Jun. it read:
I didn’t hear a lot of what Kyrin was saying, I was too busy thinking how good the blonde girl Nori would look with that dress crumpled up on my bedroom floor. Damn she is hot! Though I believe Kryin was saying there is a gang in town with some impressive equipment.

Xavier was glad that he hadn't been seated next to Jason, they hadn't particularly started off on the right foot and Xavier would definately be having a word with his brother about the other man later. It was just his lack of respect for his superiors and his utter lack of sensibility for security that irked Xavier. He pushed these thoughts out of his head for later though. As he looked around the table before the meeting started, he noticed that Nori was wearing a dress. Well its been a while since he's done that. He thought curiously. Xavier had thought that Jaydn had managed to scare the other man out of wearing such things, out in the open anyway, and that that was the reason that Nori hadn't done it in so long. Xavier wanted to laugh when the meeting started and he noticed the looks that Nori started getting, but he ignored them as Kyrin began to speak. He listened to what she was saying with the upmost interest, thinking in his head if there might be anything that his deparment could do to aide her. After they got more information they would know for sure. It was sort of disheartening to Xavier that the first meeting he had been to in a long time was starting out in such a disappointing way, as Charles continued the short string of bad news. When it came to Miles though, Xavier wanted to smile, but couldn't as he looked over at his cousins face. He didn't know how he had missed it, but the color blossoming over her eye was more then apparent to him now. His temper flared, but he kept his comments to himself. His attention turned to his oldest brother and wondered what it was that Jaydn planned to do to the man that did that to Ky. His thoughts of revenge were cut short, however, when it came to his turn. He didn't have much to report because he hadn't yet finished the codes because of the mornings events, so he simply handed his report in the direction of his brothers and said, "I will be done with the codes within an hour or so of the end of this meeting."

Jason looked at Jun waiting for him to start to speak. Jason realized Jun wasn’t going to add to the meeting. Why isn't Jun speaking? Wait... Jun said he is an organizer not a department head. Hmm… I wonder if that’s what Nori is. Someone that makes sure the company runs right on a day to day basis, but not someone in charge of expanding the company. I guess only department heads are suppose to speak.
Jason who had been slouching a little in his chair straightened up figuring it was his turn to speak. Pulling his glasses from his breast pocket and placing them on his face began to speak slow and steady. “Well, when I had spoken to Jaydn earlier about a meeting I had not expected it to be in this format. So I am sad to say I do not have a formal report handy for you. Though I do have a few details from my field I can share.” Jason pushed back his chair and stood up. With a smile on his face Jason laid down a cloth on the table and lugged the large box onto it. He spun the case around so the latch opened towards Nori and Kyrin’s side of the table. “For those of you, who do not know me, I am a lord of war and business has been well. I have established a multi national trade route.” Jason eyes caught Xavier’s. I better keep the fine details to my self so blabber mouth doesn’t know anything to valuable. “This route will bring in near 5 billon dollars in revenue in the next three to four years markets staying the way they are now. Though all my contacts and many analysts feel that the market will experience a boom in the next few years so that figure may go up. Since I do not have a report I thought I would bring in a few samples. All of these items I have here; I have in stock in a near by location and can probably have here by tomorrow if necessary. Should your tastes be a bit more exotic I can work with you one on one and see what I can do.” Jason opened the box. It was like a tackle box in that the case had two levels. The top level had an AK 47 stock removed and laying next to the gun, A P90 personal assault riffle which was Jason’s favorite gun. Jason was a bad shot and a P90 compensated for it by the sheer amount of lead it could throw out. The last gun on the top layer was an Uzi sub machine gun. The bottom layer had three types of hand guns and a Russian sv-98 sniper rifle that also had its stock removed and was sitting next to it. All of these weapons were perfectly arranged on the grey egg cup foam. From the bottom layer Jason pulled out what looked like a large pill case the type that had separate sections for different days. Jason showed it around so that all could see it contained different types of bullets. Jason sat back down in his chair. “None of them are loaded so if it suites, you pull one out and take a look.” Looking directly at Kyrin Jason smiled. “Any toy the neighbor kids can get, I can get you one better. So I wouldn’t be too worried. Anyone have any questions?”

Molly found the meeting room as easily as she had expected, but much sooner than she had planed for. Being one of the first to arrive she seated herself and took to going over her notes and paper work. Once everyone had arrived, Molly put her papers back into her folder and aptly listened to Jaydns introduction. Jaydn introduced each person in turn, and Molly regarded each of them. Kyrin and Nori, Molly ignored. Charles was a new character, he seemed to be in charge of some sort of investing, mayhap some form of laundering organization. Mr. Morozov's comments were interesting, especially the part where is elaborated on how Ky had gotten her bruise. Xavier's comments were short, he seemed to be bothered by something, perhaps it was just the gloomy news being passed around the table. Jason made his presentation to the group, Molly found it very uninteresting. Jason seemed an interesting individual, if not lightly egotistical. When he finished his say Molly waited until the attention in the room turned to her. Standing Molly took a folder from her bag and began walking around the room handing out a small packet of papers to each of the other members of the meeting starting with Jaydn. "Given only an hour to prepare I was not able to put much together, but here you will find three articles." Molly Finished her round and took her seat. "The first article may be the most important of the three. It is a list of my contact numbers. If you cannot reach me on either of the numbers at the top, I may be contacted through any of the email addresses, Instant message programs, or forum web pages listed below." Molly removed two cell phones from her bag, and one from her jacket pocket. Setting the first two to one side and the third to another, Molly said. "The two numbers at the top are for any general information you may have with me. The number at the bottom of the page is for emergency contact only. The only circumstances under which you should use this number is if you are either in prison or about to be taken to." Molly gave a dramatic pause, then turned to the next page. "The next page is a reference to my credentials, if you have any questions about my past or experience, please refer to this article, I will not be taking questions regarding this topic often." Molly moved on to the last page and turned to Jaydn. "This last page need not refer to you Mr. Matsui, but I would recommend you follow fill it out as well." Turning the rest of the group Molly continued. "This page, as you can see, is a form for you to give to me the information I will need to protect you. I do not need to know about your record, I can find that. Just the information listed for you on that page." Molly leaned back into her chair signaling the end to her presentation, and she turned to Jaydn expectantly.

Maddox paused for a moment, glancing briefly at the notes he had taken down. Though he had written quickly, the Japanese characters remained fairly neat, most likely due to the fact that he was rarely ever seen not scribbling something down throughout the day. He had taken the papers Molly had given him and looked at them for the shortest of moments before placing them atop the pile of papers that he had gotten from everyone else.
The news presented today was not of the best sorts and a peek at the muted expression on Jaydn's face was a signal to Maddox that his older brother was not pleased about the turn of events. It's no wonder... Maddox had always found Jaydn to be particularly protective of the family and seeing Kyrin hurt in such a way seemed particularly offensive to his older brother. When both Miles and Kyrin spoke of the same incident, the intuitive middle Matsui created a theory easily on the origin of his cousin's bruise. They mention this man, 'Walter'. Could he have something to do with it? Maddox had no doubt in his mind that Jaydn would figure it out.
Blue-grey eyes sweeping around the table, Maddox realized that most of everyone had already spoken, save for Jun and Nori. Speaking of Nori, Maddox was still slightly baffled by the presence of the younger man. Had Jaydn invited him? Maddox didn't see why else Nori would put himself into the situation, he did seem to be very uncomfortable among them. But for what reason had Jaydn invited this person who he seemed to hate? Or perhaps... Ah, Ky... Of course, Maddox hadn't considered until then that maybe it was Kyrin and not Jaydn who had invited Mr. Blauvelt to the meeting. It made all the more sense now.
Silence followed Ms. Al-Kohen's moment and it seemed she turned to him with an expecting expression on her face. I suppose it's my turn... Clearing his throat slightly, Maddox shuffled through and pulled out a few papers of his own, charts and statistics littering the pages. "Eh, well, we have just contracted with the 'Burgerlicious' corporation so we will be designing a few of their commercials in the next week. They are still a small company so we are only doing two television commericials and designing a billboard that we will place at the M street exit and the corner of Jimson and Milberry." As he spoke, his eyes remained focused on the numbers on his paper. Though he had done this a number of times before, he still couldn't shake the nervousness that speaking in front of a group gave him. His eyes flickered up slightly to the rest of the group before continuing with, "Also, Mr. Peterson of the Radio Commercial department is celebrating his birthday on Thursday and you are all invited to celebrate with him." Lifting his face up, he looked back at the group shyly before asking, "A-are there any questions?"

Once Kyrin had given her report, she settled herself into a comfortable position in her chair and glanced around as Charles spoke. More bad news. She thought with an internal sigh, At least I wasn’t the only one. It wasn’t often that Charles had any bad news to speak of and he seemed to be rather ticked off at whomever it was who had messed up his morning. While Charles talked, Kyrin noticed that Jun and Jason were paying particular attention to Nori, she couldn’t tell what they were thinking though. Her own eyes settled on Nori for a moment and she wondered at what a pretty girl Nori would make. Maybe that is what they are thinking. But as Charles finished, Kyrin’s eyes were on Jaydn, Or, maybe they are trying to figure out why Nori is here like Jaydn is. The thought made her smile. She figured that if she was going to pitch Nori’s potential usefulness to the group soon that he ought to be up to date on the things that were going on in the meetings. Jaydn will get over himself eventually. She thought, but at the same time, she almost didn’t believe that her stubborn cousin would change.
Miles’ words had Kyrin’s full attention and she dared not look at Jaydn while Miles spoke. He’s covering my a**. It was interesting to her; normally it was every man for his own in their particular line of business. She was impressed with his tact. Miles’ thoughts on Mr. Walters mirrored Kyrin's, Extremely tacky. She thought idly. Kyrin had plans for the man that messed up her face, but she would not voice them in a crowd so large, it would be a conversation to have with her cousin at a different time. Something that needed to be planned out and every detail needed to be precise or they would be in trouble.
Kyrin turned next to listen to Xavier but the teen didn’t have anything worth while to contribute it seemed and he simply slid his papers to Maddox. Xavier didn’t often seem to have much to voice in their meetings, as most of his work was easily concluded in his papers and didn’t really openly involve the rest of the organization. The rotation skipped over Jun and Kyrin wondered what his purpose with them was. She hoped that Jaydn or Maddox would say something about it if Jun wasn’t going to speak, because she was curious to his existence in their ranks and his place at the table. He seemed to have as much of a place at the table as Nori did, but Nori had been around them longer. She shrugged the thought off when the weapon’s man spoke. He had her full attention from the moment he put on his glasses. When he turned to her, she smiled at his comment, He’s confident. I sure hope he’s right. Kyrin was interested in the weapons that he had pulled out. The first few were a little big for her taste. She never had gotten the hang of anything larger then a small hand gun. She didn’t have any questions for him at the moment, but she would keep in mind his offer of ‘something more exotic’. Kyrin liked new toys. Perhaps she could speak to him after the meeting when she gave him his key. And maybe we can find something that Nori can hold and practice with, so at the very least he could defend himself if necessary.
Kyrin looked over the papers that Molly had passed out and noticed that they looked a lot like job applications. Kyrin had seen job applications, though never filled them out. At that moment, Ky wondered how safe it was to be wandering around with such papers at hand, giving each members identity in such a way. But, if Molly was here, she must have been good enough to use this information when needed and keep it away from prying eyes when she didn’t need it. Kyrin looked over Molly’s information and decided that she would have to commit Molly’s numbers to heart later on, in case she did manage to get herself into trouble she couldn’t get out of herself. Kyrin turned to Maddox as the attention at the table shifted to the seemingly nervous man. Kyrin wanted to smile at her cousin, but kept the expression to herself. He had good news to share, which was a relief to Kyrin. At the invitation to the party Kyrin did smile however, it was a nice sentiment, but she didn’t think she would attend.
Ky had no questions for those assembled, none of them except for Jaydn, whom had yet to speak again. She knew him to wait until everyone had given their reports to respond, unless there was something of particular urgency and she wondered at what information he had for them.

It wasn’t their best meeting ever but the bad news that was told simply meant to Jaydn that there was still work to be done, something that he was already perfectly aware of. He allowed his eyes to flicker to the papers given to him and Maddox only shortly, keeping his focus on those speaking. These were his top members and he trusted them just about as much as he could trust anyone. Still, he wouldn’t be too surprised if he ever caught one of them lying to him. Fortunately, it had yet to happen but Jaydn wasn’t prepared to let his guard down.
When Kyrin felt the need to overstep him and introduce the unwelcome cross dresser, Jaydn was more than a little annoyed with his cousin. Forgetting implies an accident. He doesn’t belong here and you know it. Quite honestly, Jaydn was starting to get fed up with Kyrin’s lack of respect towards him. She did what she needed to do for the mafia but she also had a bad habit of causing more trouble for them to deal with. Like the black eye. Jaydn planned to speak with Kyrin after the meeting. If she wanted to be friends with the weirdo then so be it but hell if it was going to continue staying in their base of operation when it did nothing for them. If Ky was anyone else, it’s what Uncle Han would do. There was no denying that the Matsui daughter had her father wrapped around her pinky.
As Kyrin continued on in her report, Jaydn listened fairly passively, taking in the information she offered. So there was another new gang. Good, that meant there was immediate work to be done for Mr. Kato. Jaydn had not expected to see his ally from Japan but remembered very well his usefulness. Jun’ichi was, as he recalled, a very personable character and excellent at sweeping the streets of Japan. He always made good to befriend core sources of information. His poor skills with the English language would set him back slightly but given a team he would make do. Plus a translator until he got a better grasp of the native language. Someone like… Ky. Now that he had come to a decision, Jaydn would inform the group of this plan after everyone was done. When Kyrin spoke of the bar ‘Marigolds’, Jaydn’s mind did a quick skip. If he recalled correctly, ‘Marigolds’ was the name of the bar that Miles had said he was going to last night. Jaydn gave a glance at Miles, taking in again the split lip. He didn’t like how the dots seemed to be connecting.
His thoughts left the picture forming in his head to listen as Charles gave his news. To hear that they had lost a considerable amount of their money was the last thing Jaydn needed to complete what seemed to be slowly turning into a horrible morning. He simply nodded at the older man, knowing that Charles would make sure that the lackey who had made the mistake would not make it again. It was what was perhaps one of the traits that Jaydn appreciated most of Sweetland: that he understood responsibility as it was. Charles understood that if he would not deal with the responsible party of the matter then Jaydn would hold him accountable for the blunder. It was another making factor that Charles rarely had such blunders to deal with.
Charles had kept his report brief, knowing that it wasn’t necessary for him to go into the details. As always, if Jaydn wanted the details at the meeting, he would ask. Otherwise, written reports were sufficient. Miles began to speak next. For the three of them, Kyrin, Charles, and Miles, who were typically Jaydn’s audience for most of his meetings, it was one of them who spoke first. It was never officially said aloud what the order was but over time, it was communicated they would be the first to give their reports and they had managed to figure out a way to distinguish who would go first each time. For Jaydn, it made no difference who went first. Unless it was time sensitive, he couldn’t give a damn.
Miles’ report confirmed the picture that was sitting in the back of Jaydn’s mind. Miles’ knew the details of how Kyrin came to have the black eye and if Kyrin was not going to talk to Jaydn about it, Miles would. Jaydn appreciated Miles’ honesty, though Jaydn would have much preferred if Miles had stuck to his initial thought of not allowing Kyrin to go along. If anyone was to blame though, it was Kyrin and Jaydn knew that. It was obvious enough that if Kyrin wanted to do something, there was very little Miles or anyone else beside Jaydn and Han could do to stop her. Sometimes there was very little Jaydn could do to stop her. Brat.
Determined that he would have both Miles and Kyrin stay back to speak with him, Jaydn listened to the rest of Miles’ report. Stardust. Jaydn had heard many things of the casino, it was famous in this city. He would have rather that Miles had been able to gather more information but by the sounds of it, Jaydn had to do something about this ‘Walters’ fellow. It seemed that, according to both Kyrin and Miles, ‘Walters’ was just holding their plans back and Jaydn didn’t like to have anything holding him back. When it came Xavier’s turn, Jaydn was pleased to see that the misfit was keeping the trouble to a minimum. Jaydn was glad whenever his youngest brother would remain professional in such situations, it made it easier for Jaydn to keep his cool. Somehow, the teen knew exactly which buttons to push to truly set Jaydn off. Jaydn would deduce that it was perhaps a sibling thing but he had never had the problem with Maddox. Maybe it was just a Xavier thing.
Jason’s turn came up. He gave his introduction, kept it brief, before diving into his report. When Jason opened his case, Jaydn was reminded of the ‘gift’ he received from Jason earlier. It would be rude of him to not take the gift but, as well made as the weapons he brought back for Jaydn were, they were just… too much. Like this one, for example. How much more flashy could a hand gun get, with gold plating and Jaydn’s own name engraved in it? The Mafia prince preferred his weapons to be inconspicuous, as weapons were meant to be. The most decorated weapon he would ever care to wield would be the Matsui heirloom, a handgun with their surname engraved along the handle, said to have been the gun of their great-grandfather. But that was because it was a matter of pride to Jaydn, the Matsui heirloom belonged to whoever lead the mafia in present day. Jason’s taste however didn’t seem to fit well with Jaydn’s practicality. Even now, as he spoke, he mentioned his past-time of collecting and giving members their own ‘exotic’ toys. But Jaydn would not complain, the man did what Jaydn needed him to do.
When Malika picked up her own papers and began handing them out, Jaydn was glad that she was blending in with their group so easily. He didn’t want a member he would have to baby-sit. The papers she gave, he did not look over right away. He had some of her contact information already and her credentials were listed in the resume-like application she had given him the day before. The third piece he skimmed through, curious as to what other questions she was asking him to answer for her if she could already find his record. He would fill it out later, perhaps depending on what type of questions they were, Maddox would do it for him.
Speaking of the middle brother, it appeared as if he realized that it was his turn to speak. Maddox had good news to share, it seemed. It was never asked but most assumed that Maddox’s role within the mafia was as Jaydn’s ‘secretary’ but that wasn’t his job, not that Jaydn had asked anyway. When they began their operations, Jaydn had originally intended to have Maddox work the cover-up business that they had involved themselves in, in this case being an advertisement company. While Maddox continued to work in that department, the always preoccupied young man somehow found the time to organize, schedule, and basically stay atop of Jaydn’s list of meetings, events and other miscellaneous things, doing these things without being asked. It was frankly amazing and Jaydn, though having never said it aloud, admired the multitasking ability of his younger brother. At Maddox’s last bit of news, Jaydn nodded. If I see Peterson on Thursday, I’ll give him leave to take a day off. As for attending said celebration, Jaydn would not. There were more important things to be doing with his time.
A short moment of silence descended upon the room signaling that no one had any questions for Maddox. Jaydn took to the stage. ”Thank you all for your reports. Now you all have an indication of what the others do. If you have any questions for one another, then I recommend you approach that person and figure out what the answers are. If you have any questions for me, I will be available to answer them for the next hour. I hope the rest of the day serves you all well. Miles, Kyrin, Jun’ichi, if I could have a word with you.” He concluded the official meeting with the finality in his tone.

Miles watched on patiently as the others gave their report, fingers laced on the table in front of him. He smiled to himself while Oriole spoke. Whatever few things they had in common, at least Miles always knew he'd have something to talk to Jason about over firearms. He himself had an interest in getting a new gun from him; a Desert Eagle .50 for his growing collection. With Molly's report, Miles looked over the paper curiously, not too eager to fill it out. Having everyone's information all in one place was dangerous, but hopefully Molly knew what she was doing. She seemed quite intelligent, so maybe it was just the fact that she was a stranger that made him wary. He did like her self-important way of speaking anyways, not to mention style. Maybe they'd grow on each other. After Maddox's painfully timid report, Jaydn took the floor. Miles had pretty much expected that he was going to have to speak with both he and Kyrin, but apparently he had something to add to Jun as well. He was ready to take any responsibility for Kyrin, but at least the benefits outweighed the misfortunes in this case. Jaydn would understand. With a bit of a sigh, Miles stretched before standing and pausing in front of Jaydn. He avoided eye contact with Kyrin as she approached.
