'Ello, JSG faithful.
I'm Russ. 16's the age, and I know/know of most of the mods here, (Naka and Masquenade are the ones I recognize atleast. sweatdrop ) not to say that I don't look forward to making friends with the rest of you, and everyone else in the guild.
I've always had a love for the Japanese culture ever since I laid my eyes on my first manga (Gundam Wing, incase you were wondering ^_^) and have always wanted to learn the language, but never got around to doing so.
I look forward to hanging around here. 3nodding

Konnichiwa! My name is Alex and I am almost 13 years old. I really started having interests in Japan after watching Naruto and getting really into anime . After studying about Japan I found out how COOL it was! I really like Japan's customs and fashion style and I specifically like Nara's history a lot! And I think that Tokyo is the coolest place EVER!!! I have been trying to teach myself Japanese using computer programs and Japanese word dictionaries. That's basically it!
Sayonara! Alex heart

ack, I fail. I've posted around in other threads before getting here. how silly of me. so sorry!
My name is Sanna, I'm 24, which probably makes me older than most Gaians... I graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts, double major in Creative Writing and also the German language. I started learning Japanese originally to be able to listen and read anime and manga without relying on fansubbers OR the dub industry, but once I got out of college and entered the *gasp* 40-hour-a-week workforce, my time to devote to anything Japanese language, anime, manga, anything and everything, has just plummeted to nil.
Nihongo is just a damn gorgeous language, and it's so beautifully logical! No exceptions, no funky rules.... I wish I had more time to study it. Ah well. Wait, I forgot the part about having taken Japanese in college. I took 4 semesters of language and one semester of "language and society." In the 4th semester of language, we created a video about our university campus that eventually travelled to the World Expo 2005 in Nagoya to represent our state! I wish I could have gone to see it. Ah well.
I look forward to getting to know you all better, and also to getting back into learning Japanese!
hajimemashite, yoroshiku! (most of my gaia surfing is done from work, and i can't type in kana on this computer... gomen : [ )

Hello,
I just join a like and hour ago. My name is Allie and I'm 15. My interested in Japanese culture and language origoinally came from when I first started watching anime back in elementary school. You when Pokemon came out of nowhere and became super popualar. rolleyes Although the anime that got me hooked was Sailor Moon. I don't watch English dudded anime much anymore though, because I don't like the ones that are shown on Cartoon Network now(WHY IS NARUTO SO POPULAR?!), and I've grown so used to sub titles that it seem weird to watch some of animes in English again sweatdrop pathedic, I know........but I ramble. Now I find myself not as interested in the animes themselves, but in the speach and culture of Japan.
I know very little about the language at this point...I can just say a few simple words and commonly used terms by anime obsessers(for about 96% of my friends are), maybe a phrase or two, and the basic sounding out of syllables....well except for if theres two vowels next to each other.

Konnichiwa everyone! I'm SoraHime88 (Just call me Sora!) ^^ I'm 18, first year in University. I got interested in Japanese in Grade 8 when I saw the Shonen Jump magazine just sitting there all alone in a shop... and I read it. Caught on after that lol.
Most of the friends that I know like anime/manga/japanese culture as well, and we decided to learn Japanese and take the Japanese class in University. Unfortunately, my schedule was already full so I couldn't take the course. My friend is sort of teaching me, but he learns mostly everything from watching a vast amount of anime (unlike me... crying ) I speak mediocre Japanese, just the simple ones. I hope I can learn to read and speak Japanese better soon. ^^
Domo arigatou gozaimasu! ^^

Konbanwa! ^_^ My name is Kayla. I like to be called Keru or Keru-chan, though. I am 15 and have been very interested in the Japanese culture and language for about 1 to 3 years. I love manga, anime, and J-pop. I am also a fan of Final Fantasy and Zelda no Densetsu (Legend of Zelda) among many other games originated from Japan. I am not currently taking Japanese lessons, but I will be soon. I am learning as much as I can before I take actual classes. I understand some Japanese. One of my favorite words is probably "Densetsu" as well as "Kawaii". ^^ On a last note, I love to read and write, and I also like working with computers.
Dewa mata! ^-^

Hello, all~ I'm Yuki. O_O No, that is not my real name, it is my pen name. I've had it since I was about eleven. I'm eighteen years old. I've been attempting to teach myself Japanese for about five years or so. I have most of the basics down for speaking it, I still can only read several hiragana. anyways! I'm excited to be here and talk with people who like the same things as I do! Hope we can all get along heart
