She turned a look to Thobias. "We should be there by daybreak. Anyone who doesn't need to be used at the moment, let them rest up. I want a change of hands soon as we enter territory. Until then, make sure everything is get up and ready. Hopefully we'll do what we always do...fly by the seat of our pants and come out on top with pants at least in hand."
"Your father has never kept any information from you before. I don't think he'd deny you now. Perhaps it's all something you need to know. You can always ask when we're away from the Riders and out of the salt beds. Back on track for shards." She knew better than to mention the more ill things to think about in that sentence, there was no need to bring it up now when their minds were better elsewhere. “Just keep it in mind.” Leaning into him some with a light sigh.
She was sitting on Sky. Quite literally sitting on the little dragoness who was in her neutral state still, belly down with wings splyed somewhat akwardly, glaring back at the elf that was sitting on her with tail flicking back and forth angrily. "Oh stop fussing...you can't go anywhere, I'm just making sure you don't." Leaning back some, she reached into he falconer's glove....pulling out a rainbow piece of crystal. "You know what little dragon? All the fuss over these little things." Clutching it in her palm... "Best to hold one card yes? And....to be the one to lead to others." Hm, she had some experiments to conduct…and then see which captain would cater to her the fastest.
Come before daybreak, one could see the tell tale signs of things of a more civilized nature out in the sandseas. She was checking it out through her spyglass, noting the tops of several almost completely buried posts out in the sands…and they were no ancient relic of the past. Untreated wood only lasted so long against the sands, these were being taken care of. “Seems our Riders hide in the sands, but they’re not completely invisible…let’s fog up the place a little, shall we?
It was a simple matter really…isolating out a signature pattern to the magics inherent in the little shard. It wasn’t a complete signature…but close enough to work as a compass of sorts to the other matching patterns. Through Chy’s eyes she watched it as it continually spun where had been placed on an actual compass face…a little tweaking and it picked a direction, or more pointedly the matching signature that was closest. Perfect…hm, now who would want it more? The Hawk, or the Commander?
It was a debate on whether to head up on deck or not. It was all about being quiet and she couldn't exist in quiet. She just didn't do well...she either tripped over something and thus made noise, or she just was loud. It was her personality, she couldn't help it. Thus she was sitting below deck still, tinkering away with some various pieces of various things, sitting just outside that little nest like area her and Kaz had made when they first switched ships. Though her eyes rolled upward at the slight sounds her sensitive ears could pick up of movement.
And a snort as he rubble was pushed aside and he shook his head as he stood, shaking off dust and debris off his person. How long had he been out? He knew he'd been out of it too...because he just couldn't remember. But a look up at the ball of red light that was frantically 'pacing' the air before it landed on his broken horn.
"Even the very Mountain! City Shook and Quivered as I do! The Pulse stronger!"
"Grgh...Sylin please...I've not the head about me to solve your words at the moment." A bit more wriggling and struggling to get himself free...he had a city to attend. Were things getting worse because those out in the sand were progressing or because they were failing?

He blinked to consciousness as the ship's hull creaked with the effort it took to make it look like it glided smoothly across the sands... which contained less salt content now. He knew because he could smell it, a distinctly fresher scent though one awareness led to another and soon his fully open eyes were settling on the white dragoness sitting a little ways away. She seemed different too... Smell or otherwise. But as usual, she was still tinkering away and he settled for watching her calmly for a few moments longer before sitting up from his lounging position and tucking a strand of hair back from his face. "Did you sleep well?" He was still thinking about her words yesterday, still debating with himself and weighing various factors in his mind again. To ask or not to ask...

He was standing nearby, arms behind his back as he greeted the sandsea with a charismatic smile. This was what he loved about being a pirate and he snapped some instructions to a few of his crew mates in a congenial tone. Nothing could ruffle him right now. "I love it when you say that. It sounds so...wicked."
She was sitting on a barrel doing absolutely nothing. Her job had been taken over by a snobbish pirate who'd shoved her away rather roughly even though she hadn't done anything wrong. Well, fine. She'd sit here and look pretty, dammit. Watching the sky crease in color was something she'd never grow tired of and right now, she was completely content.
The nest-like corner lit up with a small glowing yellow ball as Areesa popped into existence around them, her bouncing light the same as always despite the early morning hour. "Butthead told me you two got married last night! Is it true? Really? Are you gonna have pretty babies now?" Flitting to Jae's tummy. "Are they already in there? Helloooo pretty dragon babies! Can you heeaarrrr me?"
Eilynne was sitting off to the distance, watching with obsidian eyes intent on the horizon. They would be coming...anytime now. Seeing the spires of the masts of the ships rising out of the shadows like an advancing calvary, she took to the air and gave a mighty roar, flapping her wings. She was in female form, an unmated single and alone female...perfect bait for the Riders. Roaring again, she banked to the right and acted like she was a young dragon at play who had wandered into the wrong territory. Oops...

Hunter closed his spyglass and frowned lightly. those posts were markers like the ones Sky had found that Kanzec had talked about. resupply posts. thier territory apparently had stretched some since his maps were last updated. he'd need to have that take care of next opportunity. A glance up at the crow's nest, and Des gave him some hand signs, and he adjusted the wheel at the helm accordingly.
This was going to be a real pain in the a**, he was sure of it. but at least they were out of the saltbeds..or at the outer reaches, at least. still in Fang territory though. but almost out of it, and they hadn't run into him again. At least that was a point in their favor
Mister Richards moved over by Shyrae, and a glance at the rigs told him all he needed to know. god damned arrogant superstious rats some of this crew. however he tapped her shoulder, and had her come with him..nad walked her back over to the rigging, and decked the pirate that had taken over, giving him a glare that said more than enough about inappropriate behavior. Richard's never hit anyone hard enough to flatten them without reason while running silent, due to the obvious noise someone might make hitting the deck.
said pirate got himself up, and in a flurry of sign language back and forth between him and the first mate, promptly got himself escorted off the deck. Richards handed some of the rigging to Shyrae, and made motions for her to follow his lead. He'd teach her what she needed to know, and show this damned crew something about teamwork before he hung one by the yardarm.

She wasn’t getting anything really…usually she came up with something. Okay so in all actuality she had been tinkering and taking looks back at him from time to time as he was still asleep. Worried about him after all and he needed a good rest for his body to recover. So what she had….copper rod with spring being threaded onto it…she really needed to stop taking clocks apart. She was granted reprieve from her inventing woes and distracted thoughts by said subject of distraction. Setting down what she was doing she more or less crawled back over across the small space, plopping herself on the edge of the pallet they had made. “Very you. You seem better rested and look than you did yesterday. Pain eased up?” Cuddled up next to him as usual…but different at the same time, yes good sleep. And he was a stoic sleeper.
Seemed however questions were on hold as yellow lit up the corner with the familiar voice and nicknames. And it seemed that it was well informed as well. “Um…yes.” Because technically it was true right? But the latter part caught her off guard somewhat. Babies? That was…well a subject that wasn’t even on the table. Made her shift uncomfortably and her cheeks heat some…more so and tinting scales under her eyes pick as the ball of light fluttered to her stomach and was talking to supposed offspring. Made it worse that Jae just had to wear a midriff down baring top today, didn’t it? Self consciously she covered her stomach with her arms, tail flicking. “Um well no….we didn’t go that…far…” Awkward much?
It was about biding her time…which she hated. Thus she was pacing…or rather pacing to the best of her ability with things moving around. She needed more rope to lash things down so they wouldn’t move damn around so much. Though she pointed at a little dragon who was trying to sneak by her. “Just because I can’t see you doesn’t mean I can’t hear you. Sit back down and stay quiet. If you’re hungry I can get you something.” Moving to Chylithair, she penned out a quick note and handed it to him, the falcon silently taking off. Note was food for Sky…but also a line asking on how interested Hawk still was in rainbow crystal.
A smile over her shoulder to him. “Wicked? You like wicked though don’t you?” Turning her attention back to the helm and taking control of things as her crew did as told, lashing barrels to the railings nad the like, adding something to whatever wasin them to make them start releasing foggy like smoke from the containers. A look up to the sky then. “Make sure our dragons are either tucked away, or don’t leave deck…we’ll let the Starry One do her little thing…she’s doing a fine job.”
Closing his spyglass he titled his head and cracked his neck, giving a kick to his mount to get him paying attention to reign tugs. “You feel like hunting wild today?” Jerking a thumb to his mount as well as the others males around with them. “They’re doing that thing again they do. Head back to main camp and give out word to bring supply and what not.” Pointing to another. “Keep watch, you’ve a female.”

He watched her come back to settle down comfortably next to him and he nodded, tilting his head from side to side and then moving his shoulders as well to test bodily functions out. "Mostly, just a little bit more muscle stiffness but that will disappear by the end of the day." He knew from experience and for now he was just hoping that was enough time. They didn't even know where exactly they were situated at the moment. He needed to know that but first... interruption by yellow ball of light that he'd come to recognize well. The little Seon was interesting; hardly the same as Xeke and not as cryptic as Sylin either but still managed to confuse him from time to time. Thus he let Jae do the talking for the moment, tilting his head that usual way he did when things were just too crazy for him to follow. Married? Well Jae said yes to that... alright. But babies? That was a definite no. "That wasn't the purpose of the ritual. There are no babies but she is marked... I believe." Somehow... But a blink as something clicked in his mind and curiosity flared once again. Moving a hand towards Jae's stomach to strategically sweep the ball of light into his palm, he watched it for a moment. "Can you sense it?"

She glanced at him uncertainly for a moment, not too sure what he wanted from her. Was he going to hand signal yell at her for not doing her job? But it wasn't' her fault! She followed him warily, glancing up at the helm where Hunter was standing and trying to remember the signals she'd been taught that would suffice to tell her side of the story. None of that mattered as she watched Mister Richards stand up for her and then take over teaching her himself. She took the rigging and nodded, watching him carefully and repeating his actions. Well, well, someone actually thought she was worth their time. How nice.
"I'm a man, of course I do. We're attracted to the dangerous women because it calls to something primeval inside ourselves. We're all real Neanderthals, you know." Giving her a chuckle and then dispatching orders to ensure all dragons stayed out of sight and below deck. Watching the blue dragon spin and twirl, he shook his head. "She's playing our bait?"
Indeed she was, letting out joyous roars every few moments as if she wasn't even slightly aware of what was going on. She knew exactly what the Riders were doing at this very moment; restocking their supplies to come after her. Come on boys, let me lead you on a merry little chase. Rahsaveer would say such a thing...she would never...but the dragon side of her would. She was playful and felt...fun? It was strange and exhilarating all at the same time.
Crossing his arms, he glanced up and flicked his tail then grinned. "Of course I am." He was Commander here and these were his men, his team ready to go at a moment's command. Sapphire eyes gazed up at the female and he licked his lips. "It's about time I took one for my own. She's a beauty, too." Turning, he glanced over his crew then signaled. "We'll let her wander in a little closer and then we'll go after her. Subdue her but don't harm her. We can't risk losing another one."
No babies? Well, that was just sad, wasn't it? "Do you not know how to do it right? You're s'posed to have babies after you get married." Sighing in that purely Seon way before she 'giggled' after being swept into his palm. Hovering there for a moment, she settled against his hand as if she was snuggling him and then bounced yet again. "Of course I can. Everyone can, silly. It's like you wrote 'Property of Kazzy' all over her body." Bouncing again. "But don't feel bad, she did the same to you, except 'Property of Tiah'." Which was cause for serious excitement, thus the bouncing picked up yet again. "So when you gonna have pretty dragon babies? Hey, I know! Butthead could give you the definition of sex. He's smart like that! Want me to get him for you?"

Hunter saw her playing dragon, and gave a slightly venomous smirk. it's do her good to get caught. maybe teach her some humility...before the hawk brought him a note. well that was certainly worth attention, wasn't it. He handed over the helm, and went below decks, pass where she was, to the galley, getting meat and bringing it back for the dragoness, and food for the elf.
"what is it you know about these shards you've neglected to mention?"

"We can just work your muscles a little to help out. Loosen you up." But there was no staying focused with how things were right now. Areesa was a bubbly and optimistic thing wasn't she? Moreso than Jae herself she thought. Though there was something distinctly...unhappy about this parade of a marriage. Clearly it was something done for the sake of necessity only on a tactical level, which yes in her head translated as obligatory and worse off. But she tried to push that out o fher mind and turned her attention to what he was asking the ball of light.
Apparently though to those that had means to sense it, she was a walking sign with his name...or rather scent...all over her. She was surprised to hear though the same about him somewhat. But it was back to Areesa's more happy expectant nature as the Seon thoguht that maybe they didn't have a clue on how to 'go about making babies'. "We know how to Areesa..."
"Primeval. Honestly Mister Robins must you tempt me so? Now is a time for sailing, not beedding. But the bedding can always come later." Giving a chuckle to that and a small shake of her head. "Yes she's playing our bait and let her play all that she wants. Keeps the attention directly off of us for a span of time at least to let us keep moving. Give me some more sail."
"Did you bring food for that thing too. I wouldn't like to be the one she chews on when she gets unbearably so." Jerking a thumb to the little dragon who was more or less brooding in the corner. A little sniff at the air told her than he had and then she gestured. "Hand it over to her, I told her if she moved from that spot I'll cleave her wings from her body." Shaking her head lightly and giving a grin. "Remember long ago before we left you asked me if I could locate other shards? Well...I find it interesting that you gave that up for the direction of one who wants them for themselves as well." Of course she had to play hard to get...its what she did.
"One for your own? Well I suppose that would save us trouble wouldn't it? Some rather fine stock...ranks are getting weak these days. Just remember...no emotional attachments. We'd kill you in a heartbeat too." Yes there were dragon-folk among their ranks but those that were of the breed knew that tretchery on their parts made them fodder as well. Shaking hise head and a little kick to the dragon he was mounted on to get him moving to move to better position for all of this. "The ropes should be coming back soon enough. Venture a guess at her element?"

"There was a change of circumstance."
walking over and giving the dragoness her food, and turning back to Savvy.
"Don't be coy. I was under the assumption that all the shards had been confiscated by the little brats. without something to work with, you can't make anything to track them. Obviously you have one, and figured something out."
Crossing his arms lightly.
"So what is it you want."

This wasn't the right moment to tell her but her motions on his back the night before had helped speed up the healing process, or whatever it was that his body decided to do to deal with the rebelling muscles. Light reflected in golden eyes as he watched the ball in his palm and he blinked at its words. They were supposed to have babies? But Rahsaveer had said... why did this whole thing keep confusing him? "I was just wondering if Seons could sense it too. Your physiology shouldn't allow for such abilities but you can talk and hear... so I suppose..." Mind tangenting off for a moment before blinking again and glancing between Jae and Areesa, then shaking his head in that serious way he could. "I don't feel bad. But... it was a mutual influence thing?" Well, there weren't any bad implications to that so it was fine. As long as his scent on her would give her extra protection.
Light swirled into existence by Jae's flicking tail. "Don't worry, Areesa. I respond quickly to the usage of my nicknames, that one especially..." A light noise that sounded very much like displeasure before he moved to cast more light across Jae's face, choosing to settle on her shoulder. "It's not a matter of being smart, it's about being informed. Don't you think you're getting ahead of yourself anyways? Having babies in the middle of all this... dangerous." Silent for a moment before he directed his voice towards Jae, as he seemed to sense more than the mutual markings now. "Don't worry so much, Bell. It's Kaz, after all."

He chuckled and nodded, "More sails for M'Lady, men!" Giving out the commands and then watching as the fog lit up and secured the ship. "And now, silence descends." He gave the order for all verbal commands to cease and watched the dragon who was still playing around.
"Oh, well, if you didn't, he could help but don't tell him I said that." She went quiet at that for a moment, trying to explain how exactly she could sense it. "We don't see either but we know who you are. It's kinda like an extra somethin' has been added to you and when we run the trace, it's the same as Tiah's. Like she colored on you with the same chalk she used on her own skin?" Was that making sense. Probably not. It didn't matter though. Her bouncing stopped as if Eilynne had scolded her and she gave off a sigh. "I only call you that when you're bein' one." Obviously no one understood the way this worked. "No!" she shot back, defensively. "I don't. If they get married, the next step is babies. Everyone knows that. And besides, Lynnie says they'd be back home before the babies were even ready to come out, so there!"
He cut his eyes at the human standing beside him and very nearly strangled him. He was in command here and it galled him that a human could say such things to him. Of course, to his own kind he was nothing but a traitor but rogue and renegade dragons could only survive if they had the tools. His safest bet was with the Riders and he could let his more feral nature play as well. Glancing at the flashing blue scales, he grinned. "She's lightning."
The ropes were delivered a moment later and he took his own, lashing it to his mount's pommel. "Let's go men! Remember what I said. If you hurt her, I eat you." He took to the sky, letting his team move ahead and execute their plans, his own mount hanging behind. He'd come in for the final kill. Watching the ropes lasso and catch one of her back feet as she was caught off guard, he grinned. Now she'd let her fighting side loose and the fun would begin.
Eilynne purposefully let them catch one of her back talons with their ropes and then she shot off in surprise, crackles of electricity sparkling between her spines and blades. They were so predictable. She shook her back foot, acting much the way a surprised and snared dragon would, roaring and twisting, banking to the left and then to the right and snapping anytime someone came too close. Sensing the ships in the distance, she flipped and started moving away from them, leading her chasers to the north. Come on boys, if you follow me, I'll take you someplace fun. Oh yes, this little dragon was getting quite a kick out of this.

"Yes I have one. It's amazing what a body can cover up if something it imbedded into it." She was used to shoving things under her skin, it just worked that way sometimes. Nice little trick too. "Well...just wanted to know how interested you were in finding them and what not." Pulling out her little hand made device and waving it at him to show it off before it got tucked away again in her robes of current. "After all, I can give it to whomever I please. Dragons seem desperate. Reads the signatures of the items, leads to them."
"Probably...you could always ask them later. Or your father or whomever. After all, we don't know how this all works in its entirety. I mean I can smell you on me...but not me on you." Which was odd. And she wasn't sure if she was supposed to enjoy that hazy yet clear memory or if she should forget it because it was battle plans. But a blink and a look to Xeke as it appeared on the scene and decided to make her shoulder a perch. A sideglance to the ball as it spoke to her. "Shouldn't that be the worrisome part?" Said under her breath before a sigh and scratching at the base of her horns idly. "Babies aside...I just hope this is over soon. Then we won't have to worry about such thing.
It was all a matter of boxing formation and roping with materials that knew neutralized powers of dragons. At least until they could snap a neutralizer collar around her neck to calm her down. It was obvious they were experienced at this, maybe more so than anticipated because soon enough they had ropes positioned so that one good jerk would effectively pull wings in or out to stall or cancel her flight out and send her to the sands. Good thing long falls didn't kill them.

"Dragon's don't concern me. they could use a lesson in humility. just like those little pests in my opinion. the person that controls the shards controls the sands. control the sands, and there's nothing beyond your grasp. nothing."
A slight smirk at her.
"Like I said, since you seem intent on negotiating, name your price. and we'll start from there."
Desdemona saw what was going on, and shook her head lightly. unless that star child had some non dragonic trick up her sleeve, she was going down. she looked down to Richards, giving him some signs and pointing.
Richard's looked out, and frowned lightly, before motioning for Shyrae to take over the rigging and looking for Hunter...who wasn't at the helm. damn it. executive decision. he motioned to Des, started climbing up the rigging, and she jumped off, letting richard's take her position and landing on the deck, ready to go.
Des watched carefully. if she went down, Kaz was going to know it. everyone would. the impact would send waves there way, and it would force a roar out of her. better she was ready to go then Kanzec or Bell trying it.

He probably shouldn't be taking the Seons so seriously but that was his nature and he couldn't help it. Even if it ended up confusing him even more. Trace... chalk on skin...? "Well Eilynne assured us that it had worked and I believe her on that." He saw Xeke appear but kept Areesa in his palm and glanced between them. There was always going to be something odd about Seons that he'd never understand. But a blink then, eyes snapping back to the yellow light, a flash of relief passing through them. "She said that? But we haven't found all the shards yet..." There was suddenly a twisting in his gut, he was homesick and he was worried about father and the city. Glancing to Jae, he nodded and reached over to squeeze her hand as if it was instinctive. "Me too."
"That's precisely my point. You worry about those things that he doesn't, and he won't. He says he doesn't go by instinct but that's all he has sometimes." Sometimes even he was ambiguous, but never as bad as Sylin. But voice suddenly taking on a tone of interest, he bounced slightly in place. "Really... That soon, hmm? I think you're more excited about babies than they are, Areesa. Are you just bored and looking for someone to play with?"
