That's good. I want piccolo most out of the instruments I don't play. There are people in band I want to annoy, and high notes on the flute are high enough, but seriously tiring.

I play piccolo as well. I took it up about a month ago. However, I won't be actually playing it in concert band until next year, when our other piccolo player is gone.

I have to wait til high school. And high notes could be heard by the third/fourth row back from the flutes if they play fortissimo in with some chattiness. I know this because the trombonist I have a crush on was looking at me weird for practicing them from the third row and the lazy clarinet was annoyed (this guy doesn't even like band). (mission accomplished.)

I can play the loudest of all our flutes (except our section leader), so my high notes can be heard anywhere in the band room when everyone is playing. However, our section leader kicks my butt, and also plays the piccolo...so you can hear her all the time anyway.

I was playing Layla (by Eric Clapton) and I hate Ab Major. It took me forever at home to figure out how to do a combination of 16th notes, but it pays off: today my teacher decided to do a random test and see who can get close to doing the combination. He had all of the flutes play and everyone stopped when they got to that part, even the section leader, but I kept going even if I messed up a lot.
People were look, ing at me weird....

WOOT!!! You rock.
We had a test on a song we played a while back, I don't remember the exact name---our BD calls it the Holst. But, the entire flute section got to play the test together. Our section leader was on piccolo, and didn't play it with us, and the other upperclassmen, Abby, was gone. All the rest of them screwed it up, but I played it correctly. And loudly...

I already play sax. But I change to flute in jazz band for the one song. I play trumpet for jazz and also switch to flute for one song called Feels So Good. Its so easy that if the trumpet solo weren't so nice I would fall asleep playing.
