Well, has she responded to PMs? I get really busy sometimes, and it can take me over three months to finish something. sweatdrop But I answer the person if they ask (like "uhm, yeah, I ain't started. *points to college application*")

I am not planning on spending the gold. As soon as someone manages to find a better solution, of course I'll send Nyralia the gold back.
PA just completely ignored my PM X.x
She could've atleast responded with an explanation.

Well, since you sent the money, and didn't recieve a refund from her, isn't that a form of scamming since she said she would do the art and is now completely ignoring you? I'd be upset.

She did say that she received a refund, though. Since art isn't the same as having an item in your inventory, we can't compell people to do art, only force them to give refunds if they took money for it and then didn't deliver, or ban them if they refuse to give a refund. For a group auction, it doesn't matter how much you only wanted art from one person in it, everyone needs to be treated equally in the auction in terms of refunds off of the original price. Also, is Purple angelica even called that anymore? She changes names a lot. From what I've seen of her art, it's pretty, but it's not worth an angelic scarf. Is this a different person then that I'm thinking of, or were there simply a ton of people in the auction?

Honestly, that's one reason I get nervous about bidding on some of the joint artist auctions... you're not only dealing with one person, but a great many of them.
And if any one of them flakes, it gets awkward.... and I have always been a big believer of the "I confirm when you finish the artwork" - so it's awkward making ALL the artists wait for payment if one of them is particularly slow...
And again, if there is one artist in particular that you REALLY want art from and is the incentive to bid rather high... what if they flake and then they only reimburse you for 1/X of the auction.... *shakes head* I dunno - probably just paranoias, but I have yet to bid and win a joint artist auction.
Lili - sad I wish artists would at least give a negative answer if they're not interested... :/ - it's disheartening and frustrating. I think Michelle is the sort who picks and chooses what commissions she wants to do based on inspiration as opposed to order she was inquired. Maybe she doesn't want to give someone a "no" answer in case she needs the money and their idea is the best at the time.... but I do agree that at the least it would be cool if that was expressed.
In other news... I went out on a limb the other day and emailed someone who I would LOVE to get art from... and while it was a negative (understandably!) answer due to workload - I was flattered to get a response :3 ((*coughVOcough* 4laugh *squee* ))

*sigh* Do you want me to try talking to her? Sabin: So true, people could at least say no with group auctions when not to join. I wouldn't bid on one because... #1. Lili is poor. #2. I don't trust the artists when they're a group.

Well, that's the same reason I dn't ever bid on group auctions. I've heard too many people complain about the one great artist they'd hoped to get art from who then flaked. So I stick to singles or shops.
At least if I hold an auction by myself and end up not being able to do the piece, I can send the bidder a full refund. It's not like that when you're part of a joint auction...since we're all just here over the internet we're pretty much powerless to make the other artists do their part.
But I agree that you shouldn't agree to do an auction if you're not going to have the time when it ends. I wish we could have some sort of rules/guidelines post that advises people about the rules of group auctions. Things like the refund policy and whatnot, so they don't get shafted by bidding too much and then not getting the art they wanted.

I'm not doing the group auction thing again, indeed.
I looked at Purple Angelica's profile, and yes, I don't like her art much right now... but back in August it was amazing anyway xP
Well, not that amazing to most people, but just a style I really love a lot...
It's probably mostly my fault.. because I went on holiday shortly after the auction.. I should have been there to closely watch the artists...
I'm done with auctions. Seriously.
(unless I manage to win bw-inc somehow xP *worships*)
X.x I've been away from gaia too long... My hacker sold my october 03 letter, but left me with a bronze durem fishing trophy. Now, in March... it was worth loads...
but now... it's completely worthless X.x I seriously had no idea it dropped in value that much... Of course, I should have figured that out.. but it just didn't occur to me...
Ah, even the items from 03 I have left are dropping in value. (devil tail from 5 mil to 2 mil X.x)
If I get hacked once more.. a moderator shall die. (oke, oke, I'll spare the ones in this guild)

Right... not ever bidding in an auction again.... Don't trust artists...
