I was going to say Magneto over Mysterio because he's more likely to be recognized but then I was like OH WAIT SHE'S GOING TO COMIC CON. So you'd be fine going either way. XD
Does Aeris even have fans (beside me?). Riku does though so if you've got the time it'd probably be worth it. The KotC would make a cute squiggle but he has a lot of colors, no? I'd wait to work on him until later depending on how detailed your coloring of these go. As for the rest of your ? characters, I'm not familiar with them so it probably means they're newly popular or I'm just out of the loop, which is very likely.
In other news, I completely approve of Gambit/Rogue (my only X-men ship), Catwoman, Black Cat, The Hulk and Deadpool

I don't know! I like Aeris too, but my friends are advising me that no one cares about her ("Especially after Advent Children") and that I shouldn't bother. It seems weird to me, to do Tifa and not Aeris, though. It also seems weird to exclude Barrett and I feel so iffy about that, I'm honestly tempted to cut out all the FF7 ones apart from Cloud, Sephiroth and Jenova.
Mysterio would be pretty badass with his fishbowl which is why I'm tempted to do him.
Gambit&Rogue, man, everyone approves of that nonsense. We're a whole generation raised on Gambit and Rogue, thanks to the old X-men cartoon that was like SO into that nonsense.
I've also been advised that Nightcrawler has no fans and I shouldn't do him, but screw anyone who doesn't love him. Nyer.
I'm actually concerned about bringing too many to the Con, though. I don't want to be seen as, like, some sort of commercial squiggle factory? Like, if there's a squiggle of, say, every character from FF7, does that make each individual one less unique and less special?

People never really care about the girls of FF as far as fanart I've seen goes. What? Nightcrawler totally has fans! But they can't touch! And that's the saddest thing ever! It's why I love Pushing Daisies so much. Also, so much sexiness. As for bringing too much, I think, since you're not doing any other prints/other things? It's probably best to have variety. At AX I saw a lot of people with only like 6 different prints and I just wasn't interested in any of it (and for once, I was actually looking for prints instead of commissions). But I definitely think doing a ton from the same series makes them a bit less special. I think your list is ok as far as the comics stuff goes but you do have a lot of FF/KH (which are almost the same thing to me, because I am not much of a video game person). I just don't think the number of different ones is much of a problem.

Pushing Daisies is super sweet! I was so, so sad when that got cancelled. I swear the Pushing Daisies guy is like the reincarnation of Oscar Wilde, the dialogue is all so frigging clever.
I'm thinking about trying to bring one or two other things, but since I don't have any .. ahh, pre-existing fanart, anything I'd be doing would have been made for the con. Catwoman would probably be the easiest, though I was thinking about doing proper Gambit/Rogue too. In general I'm just not sure on that.
Squall and Rinoa will probably get cut out, but my roommate is totally insistent about how popular they are (especially Rinoa, apparently, with the ladies).
I'm also thinking about doing some Preacher or The Maxx fanart, but style is a bit of a concern with those. Like, the ladies from The Maxx I could totally rock out, but the Maxx himself is less... ahh. I guess I could do a sweet Jungle Queen picture. In fact, I think I ought to.

Oh god I feel like kind of a monster right now. So a while ago, like 3 or 4 years, a friend of mine (hereafter A) was trying to get a devil tail to give as a gift to one of HER friends (with much intervening mutual friend'ing between I and that person, who is hereafter B). So, I traded it to A, to give to B, in exchange for some art, right?
Only it's been like, years, and I haven't gotten any updates in maybe 2 years and A has I think quit gaia, I tried PMing her and she didn't answer, right.
And now I feel kind of awful because... if I'm not gonna get the art then I want my devil tail back ? I mean, if it was a smaller item, then it would be no big deal, these were people I was friendly with and I'd just ... live and let live. But I feel kind of nasty about the fact that it was a devil tail, which has risen to like .. 19 million or something ridiculous? Ugly feelings.
How does one really go about approaching B, though, the friend of like half a dozen mutual friends/acquaintances, and asking B for that devil tail which she was given as a present? I'm not sure it can be done without being a massive b***h, and, do I really have claim to it if she's had it for like 3 years? It's not her fault our mutual friend flaked.
Names discluded out of courtesy and that I don't want any of the mods in the guild jumping any guns :S I'm not mentally prepared to do anything about this, beyond trying to get in touch with A, yet.

i think it's fair to ask for it back, not inappropriate at all. whether they have to give it back or not is iffy, but they should. even if it was a gift to them, the item was conditional of an agreement made between you and someone else. if the other person didn't go through with the agreement, then you should get your item back.
i liked the first couple of episodes of pushing daisies, but after a while the show got stale. there was little character progression and it felt like it was nauseatingly cutesy.

I agree with magaly on your issue. They aren't really obligated to give it back but it doesn't hurt to try.
I'm a big fan of whimsical television/movies (PD was heavily influenced by Amelie and Big Fish I love those movies). But I think they really hit their stride in the second season when it was less about the mystery-of-the-week and got more into setting up some story arcs that sadly never got to see the light of day. That and Bryan Fuller is my personal tv god. He wrote some of the best episodes of Heroes, I love his (cancelled!) show Wonderfalls, and Dead Like Me was at it's best when he was at the helm. So really, PD was always geared at me and that's why it was never ever going to be the hit they wanted it to be.
Anyway, I wanted to say I loooved the squiggles you posted in the other thread Anetra but they are gone sad Spiderman made me lol, it's too cute.

I'm thinking about trying to do some keychains out of squiggle-persons. Only a couple though, like, one per series-ish. Have a friend who works at a crafts store who I asked about these shrinkydinks things so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do them for reals. I think I remember reading that you made some pokemon keychains, Woe? Are those generally popular? Less/more popular than prints? In your experience I mean. I know you do the anime cons, but I figure they're roughly the same crowds anyhow. Both nerds a'least. ; ) So like: what do the dudes that aren't tween girls buy, hahahah. Also: I don't have a cell phone or understand the 'cell phone charm' craze, but a cell phone charm is roughly the same size as a keychain, yes? Like they're the same thing? Or do people usually attach them differently. I saw some at Zellers (Canadian Target, approximately) that had a .. string attachment. This was perplexing. Currently working on a Jungle Queen ( http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/4198/junglequeen.jpg) full picture, and Doc Ock squiggle. Weee.

Currently working on a Jungle Queen ( http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/4198/junglequeen.jpg) full picture, and Doc Ock squiggle. Weee. I will now dispell all your pre-conceived notions about keychains. The following is all from an anime con perspective. Not comic con. This past Otakon was my 21st time selling at an Artist's Alley. I think your squiggle persons would be best in keychain format. Small items like chibis tend to do really well when put on small merchandise. My Pokemon do wonderfully as shrinkydink keychains. However, keep in mind that shrinkydink keychains are not as easy as you'd think, and you will probably mess up about 1/4 of your first batch. Problems include: warping, burning, uneven coating, etc. Do not do one-per-series. Pick one or two series and really excell at those. You want to give off the impression that you are a fan of the series and that the fans you are selling to can understand you on the same level. Prints and keychains are sold to very different crowds. You cannot use one to measure the other. Especially when the crowd at one place might be in a different balance than at another. For example, a con with a younger crowd (less willing to invest a lot of money in one piece) will buy smaller items. But not all cons have such a wealth of younger attendees. Overall, in sheer numerical terms, I sell more keychains but I make less money on them. This is simply a matter of pricing - to make $20 on keychains, I'd need to sell five of them whilst I'd only need to sell two prints. Dudes who are not tween girls buy badass guys and sexy women. When drawing in a male crowd, consider that they do not want to be embarrassed by their purchase and thus will not purchase something that seems too feminine. I feel Pokemon are gender neutral (they are cute, but still appeal to guys, especially those that used to play Pokemon as kids). However, bishounen are pretty strictly targeting women, and gundams and superheroes attract men. Phone charms are usually smaller than keychains and therefore can sell for less. They are also very "trendy" and are considered a little cooler than keychains because it is an imported Asian trend. Because of the small string attachment, they can also be attached to things like portable game systems or MP3 players. Most keychains parts are too large. However, most North Americans don't understand them, so they can only be marketed towards people who are familiar with Asian culture. Personally, I think they're cute.

WoefulInfinity LOL! (I think, as a con person I can say this) Why the hell would I steal them? The point of Artist Alley is that YOU'RE the artist of what you're selling...! No, totally. Everyone in the guild I think is totally rad, but I couldn't argue the point that the guild is open to be read by the general Gaia public, and the general Gaia public does include art thieves. I'm still not too concerned about it, but, he is and I don't feel like finishing the argument so it was simplest to just take 'em down. I'll post them all, in their complete shaded glory, after the con though. Possibly a week before. WE'LL SEEEEEEEEEEEE. In other news: Thanks! Yeah, shirknydinks will probably have a mortality rate, but they're still something I can (hopefully) do at home. Hahahah.
