or expanding on the original dracula myth.
he sold his soul to the devil for infinite power in anger at discovering his wife's death, right?.
well, he has no soul, but he's still animated. as opposed to regular sell your soul to the devil deals, where you live your life out for a few more years - faustus' 25 years or supernatural's standard ten, or anything else - and then the tax collector comes, takes your soul, and you die.
so in the case of dracula, who is undead and lives without a soul, is he still him even though he has no soul, which in christian myth is regarded as the true "consciousness" of a person?. as his soul lives in hell, does he experience that life, as well as his extended physical life in the mortal world?. and would this schism of body and soul, both in continued existence, not cause him complete and total madness?.
based on this theory, all my vampires are batshit crazy and cannot be turned from the dark side because:
a) they have no soul, which could be called your true conscience, and
b) they are living in hell while at the same time living in the mortal world. their fate is sealed, and they eternally suffer, so there is no motivation for them to start prancing around, hand-in-hand with humans, singing broadway showtunes or whatever the ******** the fangirls want.
