((Uhhh...))
Alan shifted uncomfortably, looking at the guards. There were eight in this room; one in each corner and four in the middle, so their fields of vision covered all of the walls as well as the doorway and the middle of the room. Each was clad in kevlar with a chain mail undershirt. None of them had firearms, but mana radiated from them fiercely; if the third eye could squint, it would do so when looking upon them.

Paul gave a grunt. "How... what can I do about this acolyte?" Paul inquired. "If I kill her, there will just be more, and that's not what I want." He glanced around at the guards. "Also...?" he said, without finishing.

"Acolytes. Archsages. Mobility," Alan explained. "If anything tries to phase or teleport into this room, they will annihilate it. We're not letting anything like that happen again."
He sighed, crossing his arms. "As for our vengeful Sage... do what you think is best. We'll help as much as we can, but we won't get ourselves killed. I'm sure you understand."

"Can I communicate without direct confrontation? And can I offer them something that they'll not immediately attack me?" Paul asked. Melissa was safe-er, but not safe as far as he was concerned. Not good enough.

Alan shrugged and tilted his head. "I don't really know. Nobody deals much with the Sages or Djinni."

Paul pursed his lips. "Then how can I attract their attention without being disembowled in the first second of the encounter?"

"Just have your Councilor talk to theirs to arrange a meeting," Darius suggested.
Alan slapped his forehead. "Well, there's an obvious option I missed."

"Uhm... Athena, remind me how I get a hold of my Councilor?" Paul asked weakly.

"No need for that," Alan interrupted. "I can just send a Shadow Envoy." A piece of his shadow broke off and disappeared into a corner. "You should get in answer in a few days, with a little luck."

One of Paul's eyebrow's soared down and the other twitched slightly up. "Days?" he inquired wryly. "Serious?"

"He doesn't exactly have a lot of free time," Alan said with a shrug. "The only one who's a lot faster is cyNet3's Councilor, since they have their whole instant-communication thing going."

((Sorry. I literally had like, 15 seconds to post.))
Joe nodded at Renard and Gennady as they came out. "What's with the vampire?" he asked. "As a matter of fact, what's with all the vampires? Just once, I'd like some kind of heads-up before we pissed some faction of the Council off." Well, not you, he hastily said to the Djinn.

"Vampires are allies of Legion, same for weres," Gennady grunted, shifting his grip.
Sensing the unreality levels around them, it soon became clear that the vampires and wereanimals were pulling back with their support having been bought off.

Fyrin let off a smile. "Well. It looks like our friends are going to let us be," he said with satisfaction.

Paul stared at him in disbelief. "I am related to cyNet3! Where do you think I GOT Athena?!"

"Yeah. But you'll still contact the Sage Councilor through our channel. Also, hand me the gun. I want to check something," Alan said, his words vague but with a sense of urgency within them.
