Sara shook off the noise from the drill and shook her head. "Nope, I'm all right thanks though." She said as the ringing in her ears faded. "I'm used to it...got a lout of loud equipment back on tha ranch." She said in explanation. "Ya git used to it after a while ya know?" She said and decided to join in on the joke. "Aaawww....can I stand in ya'lls weddin?" She asked.

Conner casually looped the drill over his neck and leant against the raised back section of the X-van. He watched the young mutants get ready to go out in Scott's car.

"You're going to get caught one of these days Victoria, you know that don't you?" He asked her. "And I'm sorry Morgan, I go off in to my own little world when I work." He apologised. He spent the time waiting for the teens to go by unscrewing the wheel nuts by hand that he had loosened with the drill.

Rolling her eyes a bit because the joke was getting old, Victoria shoved the packet away again and started for the convertible once again. Her hand had just touched the handle when she heard Conner shout something in her direction. The femme gave a quick laugh before opening the door completely, sliding in and waiting for both Sara and Morgan to follow suit. In the mean time, she had the perfect rebuttal for Conner's statement.

"This I know," she said, blindly shoving the keys into the ignition while smirking back at Conner. "But I could easily say the same to you, couldn't I?"

Damon had spent much of the day in the room he had awoke in. It seemed like the best place to keep himself out of everyone else's way while he brooded over the circumstances at hand. He wasn't in a fit of anxiety, having used all of his fears and grief in those days of running. Sorting through each individual moment in his mind, the ability to see them objectively was returning. He had also been able to think of a few answers to some of his dilemmas.

He would have to speak with the professor again and address these issues, but that could come later. He needed to do something to empty his head after having sat there for so long, the only company having been a bed, a window, and a dresser.

He left the room, silently opening and closing the door, before glancing around for any sign of life. The upstairs hall was silent and relatively empty, save for furniture. Seeing no reason to stay, he made his way downstairs and into the foyer. Content with wandering, Damon selected a hallway at random ad proceeded to walk down it.

'I don't know what exactly I'll do if I meet someone...' Damon's eyes scanned the hall, searching for any signs of life. 'But... maybe it doesn't matter...' The awkward feeling of a little social interaction seemed insignificant to the stress he had experienced recently.

"Sounds like a plan." Ellen projected, smiling weakly. She wasn't really comfortable with being so close to Blade, although she had issues with physical contact with everyone. It wasn't just the other girl. As politely as she could, she removed herself from Blade's friendly embrace, still looking around the foyer. The building truly was inspirational. I'll need to phone my parents about this... She thought to herself, wondering if they'd let her stay. Hopefully they would; she knew that they couldn't keep repairing the house every time she accidentally wrecked a room.

Blade noticed Ellen remove herself from her embrace but said nothing about it. Ellen had just met her so perhaps she just wasn't used to her personality. Punching a fist into her hand, Blade cheered.
"Alright! I don't feel so bad being new now. I'm not alone!"

Owen started out of a doze that had crept up on him unawares. At first he wondered what had brought him out of it, but then a sound mimicking distant thunder rumbled from his stomach, and he knew. He hadn't eaten anything decent in 24 hours at least, and he was being rather crossly reminded. He sighed and slowly got up from the tree's relaxing shade and started walking along on the grass, reluctant to stay for too long on the walking trail now that the morning wore on and more people entered the park.
He lapsed into his shuffle-walk, keeping his head lowered and his hands in his pockets, trying to look as normal as possible despite his untidy mop of hair making him stand out like a beacon.
He constantly glanced up and around as he walked, keeping an eye out for anyone with food that looked good to him. He was contemplating on how he was going to be getting it; stealing had ceased to wear on his conscience years ago; rather, he was more worried about getting caught. It was a risky scheme, and though it would take a miracle to pin it on him directly, he was still nervous about the whole thing. Still, hunger tended to make reason fly away, and he was no exception.

Ellen nodded and smiled, unaccustomed to Blade's nature. Her stomach gurgled loudly, her hand instinctively reaching over to touch it. Smiling sheepishly, she contemplated asking Blade where the kitchen was, but soon remembered that they were both new to the building.

"You wanna look for the kitchen with me? I haven't eaten anything yet." Ellen said telepathically, looking over her shoulder as she headed for the nearest doorway.

"Now now, don't fight you two," Morgan said, grinning slightly. It was obvious from his tone and facial expression that he was joking. He slid into the front passenger seat and strapped in. He would have dropped himself in the back, but he was probably the only one of their group who knew their way around Bayville. As such, he figured it was his duty to fill the roll of navigator should they find themselves lost.

"Once we're all strapped in, let's head out. I'd suggest going downtown, they've got some pretty cool stuff there," Morgan said, waiting for Sarah to hop in and strap in.

Sara took one look at the red vet and almost drooled. "We're taking that?" She asked in an almost awe struck voice before watching Victoria and Morgan get in. She almost squeeled and ran for the car. "It's fast isn't it?" She asked almost unnessissarilly as she practically flew into the cars' back seat and hurried into her seatbelt. Oh yea Sara was very fond of fast cars and this was was the grand daddy of them all. Her brain clicked and ordered her to calm down before she accidentally damaged the car since most of her 'accidents' happened when she was overly excited. "Okay...all set!" She said.

"Downtown it is," agreed Victoria, once Morgan and Sara decided to follow suit and strap themselves into the convertible. Giving the key's a hearty turn in the ignition, the motor clicked into life and after hitting the 'Open Door' button on the dashboard, she had pulled out of the garage and started down the winding driveway.

It was only because Morgan was in the seat next to her, and most likely watching her every move that the anxious teen obeyed the laws of the road to a T. She did not exceed the speed limit, even by a hair, neither did she change lanes without signaling or any of that rubbish. Even if she did, however, it would hardly have mattered as there seemed to be no one the road but them.

"So," she said suddenly as she tapped her fingers on the steering wheel out of boredom. "Anything in mind once we're down town, or are we going just to be there?";

Conner watched the car leave then re-attached the air hose of the pneumatic drill and got back to taking off the wheel. The last bolt quickly dropped onto the ramp with it's counterparts, followed by the drill as Conner put it down. He grabbed the tyre by its tread and pulled it from the axle and then dropped it onto the concrete floor.

He went back to the toolbox and pulled out several different sized wrenches and then returned back to the van, he started to take apart the brake. Once it was off he had a good side-on look at the axle and, luckily, there were no cracks or bends; all that needed repairing was the rear section panel which was only a couple of hours with an welding torch and a hammer.

"Oh! I know where it is! I was just there before you came in!" Blade grabbed Ellen's hand, not truly understanding that Ellen wasn't comfortable with physical contact with people. Quickly Blade set off to the kitchen, attempting to drag Ellen along with her.

Ellen let herself be dragged along, even though she found it very awkward. It wasn't long before they had arrived in the kitchen, her stomach gurgling almost in response to the area. She gently removed her hand from Blade's, smiling weakly as she rummaged around through drawers and cupboards for foods. After a few moments of searching, she finally found a box of cereal, Sugar Crisp, specifically. Two more minutes of searching produced a bowl and a spoon, as well as the jug of milk.

"Thanks for showing me the way, Blade." Ellen smiled, pouring the cereal into the bowl, would you like some? Can't get enough of that Sugar Crisp... She sang the last sentence in her mind, not truly realizing that she'd sent that message to the other girl as well.

Blade giggled slightly and smiled.
"Yes, I suppose sugar crip is nice." In truth, Blade hadn't had much in the way of luxary items such as cereal while she was running. The runaway pondered something for a moment. "But, I just ate so I'm full already." Blade explained before smiling once more. "So! I see that you're a telepath. Anything else?"
