((*Reads backposts, but is unable to find any other post suggesting that there are any other men in the dining hall fitting the description of Warder or Gaidin other than himself.* My...this is unusual. I hope I do not jump to conclussions in assuming I am being checked out by an accepted and an Aes Sedai. ninja Therefore I shall hold off on my post until I am completely sure. I hate responding to things not directed at me and finding out about it later. sweatdrop ))

((Like Merc said Mirren, both sexes can do it, but the female version requires the use of the person's energy, and there is none left in Mog's body. The male version only requires the Power.
And Kakashi, I too think it was ambiguous, especially cause I don't think you were standing in the corner, but I didn't want to post anything about it, and just wanted to wait and see what happened.))

Mirren ((Uhm how about Darius? I mean he did learn at the Black Tower. And Saidin is not needed for the new form of healing. Possible spoiler KoD Remember Nyneave and this Aes Sedai in KoD who claimed that its just different enough, so she might learn?))
((Aaaactually, it is a spoiler. I cannot get to KoD here. Noone ships to APO so I am pretty much screwed. I'm left in the dark for a year on the most recent in a series of books I've been reading for over a decade. scream *is a little angry that he can't read it* evil ))
The scream seemed to go on for an eternity. Aside from the pain, it was all he could remember. The pain wasn't the agony it should have been. It was more of a comfort. The way a paraplegic smiles at feeling a pinprick on an formerly dead extremity, he had grown to appreciate the pain. But the screaming. It seemed to have no end. Slowly things began to coalesce in his mind. There was more than pain. There were colors. Red seemed very predominant. That and a face. He could see a face, but his mind was too clouded to make it out clearly. All he knew was that it was very important that he know who that was.
The pain he had conquered, the whispers, however, the voice. They were all that made the screams stop, they were the only think that left him gibbering into the corner, hiding in the only way he knew, from the voice, by pushing himself deeper in the cell he had locked himself in. Nothing but the pain, the screams, and that haunting face for company. The voice was his jailor, it kept him locked away whispering words he refused to understand, wouldn't allow himself to comprehend, but it got clearer everytime he heard it.
The screams were quieting as his pain faded, that was the precursor for the voice. It was coming. Whimpering he backpedaled to the corner, his sanctuary. How long would it protect him? Eventually, it would come for him.
"....Huuuuuuumaaannnnn....", the voice said in a rasping whisper, scales slithering across metal, an almost sing-song quality as it called out. "Huumaann... You can hear me now, can't you? I wasss beginning to doubt you would come back."
Understanding it was worse than the horrible whispers. It sounded like the voice of a snake would if it walked as a man. Deadly. Evil. He held his hands over his head to try to protect himself, but the chains prevented it. There were no chains in the corner. He was scared, confused. Where had the chains come from? Sliding back to full consciousness, he realized several things. The first being that there had always been chains. Second, he realized the pain was very real. Lastly, he realized.. He had been the one screaming.
His eyes fluttered, sending little, shooting pains into his skull like needles playing a drumbeat on his brain. The sweltering darkness closed around him like a hot, sticky fist. A single torch formed a puddle of brilliance. The darkness was a presence the torch held back. A black tent held up by a stick of light. His eyes burned like he had never used them before. The torchlight, dim as it was in the oppressive heat and darkness, was almost too much for him.
A drop of sweat trickled down his cheek as he tried to pierce the darkness. Slowly, before him, he made out the form of a Myrdraal. It walked toward him with slow grace. No, not a Myrdraal. There were differences. It didn't have that deadly gait, nor the height, and the tiny breeze, as of some slumbering beast deeper in the caverns caused to cloak he wore to ripple, ever so slightly. This was a man dressed as a Myrdraal. Even the thought sickened him. What kind of person dressed as a Fade? The pasty white face moved closer to him, the extruding bubbles where the eyes should have been writhed under the skin like a muscle twitch after being overworked.
"I sssee you have fully awoken.", this was the source of the voice. This was his nightmare made flesh. It sounded so innocent. Innocent and menacing. Was that even possible? It slid the back of its hand across his cheek, caressing. The skin felt like a snakes looked. Scaly and almost slimy.
"I sssee you wish you were an Eyelesss.", was the man's reply.
It stood there and opened its mind to him. It felt like a locked door had been thrown wide. The not-quite-a-Fade's mind crashed against his, he staggered. Thoughts ripped into him like Aiel spears into a Shadowspawn, unending and inexorable. Tiny scraps danced through his head; where they touched, he was numbed, hurt.
He sagged against his chains. He didn't remember his legs going out. He was a speck on existence next to that mind. How could he even compare himself to it? How could he do aught but crawl and beg forgiveness? His insolence was intolerable.
He began to simper towards it, as best he could, chained to the wall. It seemed the right thing to do. He had to beg for forgiveness. He needed to be forgiven. How else did one approach their master, but as a penitent man?
No. Something was wrong. But what? He should ask the Fade to forgive him. He should worship it, do anything it asked. No. No.
"No." He whispered it. "No."
"I ssshall forgive you, if you but asssk." The voice was warm, welcoming.
Pale, scaly arms reached toward him. Why didn't he strive forward? Why did he stay, pressed against the wall?
"No!" He slammed his fist into the stone. It stung, but not enough. "No!" He smashed his fist into the wall with all the slack in the chain he had. His whole arm went numb. "NO!" He pounded his fists into the wall over and over until they bled. Pain was sharp, real, his. "Get out of my head! You Bloody Fade!"
He sagged in his chains, body limp, head drooping toward the floor, sweat trickling down his back and chest as he panted, his pulse leaping in his throat. Anger washed through him, clean and Power-wrought blade sharp. It chased the last of the thing's mind away. He glared at it. Anger, and behind that terror. The Fade had washed over his mind like the ocean in a seashell, filled him up, emptied him out. It might have to drive him insane to break him, but it could if it wanted to. There wasn't a Bloody thing he could do about it, either.
It stood there and watched him, then, incredibly, it laughed. A body dragged across gravel, the rasping sound was haunting, and cruel. He prayed to the Creator never to hear it again. "Oh, we have found sssomething the little human fearsss. Yesss, we have." The voice was innocent, again.
He was shaking with reaction, shock. It pressed its face nearly into his. He wanted to push it away, but more than anything, he didn't want it to touch him.
It laughed again, deadly, evil. If he hadn't been hurting so badly he might have cried, or spit in its face.
"Good, human. We have come to an underssstanding. Do asss you are told, or I peel away your mind like the layersss of an onion." It breathed against his face, voice dropping to the hint of a whisper. Threat interlaced with an edge of laughter. "You do believe I can do that, don't you?"
He believed.
He wanted to spit in that pale, smooth face, but was afraid what it would do to him. He wanted to promise it anything, anything, if it would never touch him again.
"Get...out...of...my...face." he said.
It laughed at him, again. The sound fading as it sauntered away from him toward the darkness nesting in the corner away from the sputtering torch.
"Asss you wisssh."
He almost called it back. Anything but to be alone there in the darkness. He had instinctually held it closed throughout his pain, to filter it out, to keep from allowing it through. But now, it was released. Then he felt it, the gentle pulse, the feeling, the knowledge. The face came into stark clarity. He wasn't alone. He would never be alone. She was with him. Clarissa.
((Sorry for the length, I was trying to set the mood properly, and I kind of got carried away. I know Alina, and probably a few more, will hate having to read so much, so Ill give a brief summary.
Guy, in chains, on wall. Fade-type tortures, with mind, leaves. Guy realizes he is bonded to Clarissa. The end.
This is for you, Alina! blaugh ))

Skiiy sits in the dining room, blissfully munching on his sandwich, and unaware of the situation going upstairs. It'd been one of his most exciting days in a while, it was no wonder he'd gotten hungry. He'd already eaten plenty of cold cuts, and the sandwich probably wouldn't be the end of lunch either.

Emaleen imagined the pink blossom. She could imagine the details covering the petals. She opened and could almost see something in the distance and then it was gone. Emaleen opened her eyes and said. "I felt something, I think. I'm going to try again." She didn't bother to close her eyes because she felt already relaxed. This time she stared at a bush a little distance away. The eager child imagined the flower it was opening to the warmth above her head. Suddenly Saidar filled her. In the shock of it she almost lost it. She could see better, not as good as when she held her stone but better. "I did it!" The amazing feeling of Saidar made her feel more alive, it was exhilerating. "What do I do now?" Saidar made her feel wonderful, but she was afraid she was going to do something wrong. ((Was that too fast? I'll draw it out more if you think so.)) P.S. I finished all the books.
