Half an hour for the potion to work. Aphrodisiacs were probably supposed to be good things that led to good experiences... though of course he didn't know that. Whatever "mindset" he was supposed to be put into, he was just hoping that he would remember it for reference's sake. He did not want to be this ignorant if a similar situation were to arise again. "Yes, safety comes first. We'll have to tell her that when she comes to get us then." Truthfully though, he would have preferred to be guided through the whole intimidating process but she had her logic. Giving her a look of mild uncertainty, he took a deep breath. "Instinct in natural form... I'm not very good at that but I think the elixir will help. Don't be nervous, Jae. If I do something wrong or if I hurt you, just tell me."

Apparently he agreed...because Kaznec wasn't one to usually keep his mouth shut if he disagreed for a good reason. Well then, decision was made. "Just because you're not as strong as some of the others of your age and such in natural form doesn't make you any less of a dragon in your instincts. Your father did a good job in raising you to know who you are and what you can do." Funny...she was pep talking him about it. If anyone was at a disadvantage it was her in a sense...this is what happened when you grew up without proper exposure because no one could or would take you. "More of I think I'm going to be the one to do something wrong. We both know how I am...and it would be my luck to screw up the important things." Now she was bashing on herself to make herself feel better about things...how that worked, only she knew. Building up others by tearing down yourself perhaps.

Desdemona looked across at eilynne and the captain of the Claw, and noticing the chuckling on Gem's part. That would only mean one thing. They were going to do it. Oh this was going to be so much fun for later. And it's about damn time Bell got to show some of that obvious affection that was locked in her. things were certainly going to get interesting, weren't they.
"Hunter...lets wait for a bit before sounding the call to leave."
"We're almost prepared, just waiting on the elves and the blue. Why do you want to wait longer than that?"
glancing over at her, and noting that amused look.
"Just trust me, it'll be well worth it. and if you don't, I'll rip your spine out through your chest."
giving him a sweet little smile.
A slight grin at her.
"Well. must be if your making those kind of threats. Alright then, we'll stick around. also give us time to decided which of those elves is staying topside and which will be accompanying the blue down below, or both."

I know my father is a good man, he taught me a lot but not everything and I don't blame him for that either." There was always more knowledge in the world, in his books, in the words of others. But he blinked at her, taking in her uncertainties calmly as if he really was very confident that this whole thing was going to be go perfectly smoothly. "You can't rely on luck, or blame it either. Don't worry, the instructions are mostly straightforward and the Laerethe seem convinced that their efforts will help us accomplish this. If something wrong happens, we can just try again." Provided they had enough time...

"It's only your body that changes, not your mind. I'm sure you'll be fine with it. I know you're not as used to it as the rest of us, but at least you don't think you can't do things." She had to admire him for that and hell she still felt that she was inept at things in her natural form. Wrapping her arms around herself she let her hands rubs up and down her arms even if she wasn't looking for warmth. "I suppose you're right then...we just have to keep remembering that we can do this and then everyone will feel better with guards in place."

It was true and she'd often heard such sayings come from her parents as well. They all had pasts, some less savory than others but letting it have too much control was as good as giving your enemy a knife, then offering your back. "I know you will, Savvy. And I'll do whatever I need to on deck to help out whoever needs it. Do you want me to come down and get you when it's all over with?"
Thobias was a little shocked but he managed to keep his mouth from dropping wide open. "Fire and Ice are getting married? Well, my congratulations to them."
Eilynne nodded, "I'm glad you see it that way. Kaznec and Jaebelltiah have already decided that they would like to officiate in the air under a cloud covered sky for privacy purposes. As such, I'll need Rahsaveer in your crow's nest to allow him to meet their request. If you would approve his use of it and ask your crew to continue their duties as normal, it would be most appreciated."

He didn't quite understand why she would make that kind of comparison. Doing something involved the means and the motive to do it; having one and not the other often resulted in failure. But this marking ritual... they had both the means and the motives, right? He pondered that for a moment longer until something very odd happened. Sitting very still, he glanced down at his bare arms as he felt heat radiating across his skin as if someone had just lit a fire very close to them and he was feeling its effects. "Right. It's a necessary precaution to take and if it won't harm either of us in the process, then it's worth it." He glanced at her though, as she was rubbing herself as if she was cold and didn't feel that mysterious heat wave. Cocking his head, he settled his own hands on her upper arms and he felt the heat increase, spreading up his arms now. "Do you feel that?"

"There's a good girl. No better way than to show people what you're worth by giving them something when they don't really expect it." But then giving a no to her friend as they were coming up to the gangplank that had been thrown down. "Sure, I don't want to be cooped up too long now do I? Last thing you need is me going crazy."
"But of course, of course your friend may use my crow's nest for such a thing. I wouldn't want someone barging in on me with such things." Shaking her head lightly but still oh so very amused.
Did mental harm count in that? She wasn't sure if she was going to be doing more to herself with this than she already had. Then again, it would take away her worries of other things about herself wouldn't it? "Yes, you're right. Courage then eh?" But a blink as he reached out to her and rested his hands on her skin...wait was she conducting electricity? She wasn't supposed to be able to in this form but she had that tingly feeling where his palms were resting. Another blink at his question, was he talking about himself or something else. "You're...warmer than you usually are." Watching him as her tail flicked lightly as she was reminded of the leather and steel.

It felt weird but it also felt like magic. Good magic though. The increase in heat didn't bother him or make uncomfortable, in fact he felt like it was going to feel less pleasant if he pulled away. Thus to test his theory, he lifted his hands from her arms and indeed the waves of warmth drained from his shoulders back down his arms until he gently touched his fingertips to her skin once again and rekindled that steady flame. So very odd... "I am... It must be the potion they gave me." Watching her more closely now since she had taken the same thing, she must be affected as well. "How do you feel?"

Amber eyes turned down to watch him as he was...well what exactly was he doing? Knowing him he was probably testing some theory he had come up with in his head. Did he think she was making such a thing happen? Because of the potion maybe? Though she did note that...something felt off when he had taken his hand off of her...she had always enjoyed being close to him when he allowed her to be, but it was a tad different this time...his touching was hardly personal but it felt more so than when he allowed her to randomly hug him or cuddle up to him during sleep at night. Reaching up she brushed his hair away from his face and touched the back of her hand to his forehead. "Well...it's not an ill heat." He didn't feel abnormally hot, no one wanted an allergic reaction or some such thing to this stuff. "Me? I feel...kinda tingly. Like electricity tingly." Yup leather and wind...that was him. What he usually smelled of. Was that what she was going to smell like after this? Like him then?

Testing theories indeed and he was pleased that he was right, even if he didn't fully understand how it worked. Touching skin to skin seemed to provide and prolong the warmth but he was heating up as well... that meant either she was transferring her body heat to add onto his or physical contact with her was making his own body heat up itself though not uncomfortably so. Did this mean the half an hour time slot was almost up? Though he didn't know it, the moment she touched him back his pupils molded into slits and his gaze became almost predatory though his expression was still as calm as ever. "Tingly... Is it uncomfortable?" Because if it was because of his touch then he shouldn't be doing it. Thus with great effort, he folded his hands into his lap again, feeling the soothing warmth drain away.

Her eyes watched his, that flicker of the golden color of his own as his eyes changed to suit his instincts. Usually such a change warrented agression warning but she didn't take it as one this time...no it wasn't warning this time. Not warning, but it was something she knew she shouldn't be afraid of. Others should be afraid, but not her. But it was like a sharp shock of discomfort when he decided that he shouldn't be hands on anymore. Okay she was making an executive decision...stop trying to fight what she was afraid of. Scooting closer to him, she moved to rest her head under his chin just in front of her horns and leaning herself against her hands that she braced against his chest. Not as close as her body had wanted, but the rational her knew not to push him too fast. For a moment she closed her own eyes, lashes hiding the changes occuring in her own. "No, it's not uncomfortable at all. Feels good actually. You're doing it." Taking a breath and breathing him in again.

Hands back to himself, he was suddenly acutely aware of his own temperature. And it seemed to be dropping... Well, not quite because his core was obviously hot and yet he was still feeling that uncomfortable feeling one felt when they were cold and the shivering instinct kicked in. He wasn't shivering though, just sitting there with his eyes trailed onto the patch of bare skin where his hands had been moments before. No, none of this really made sense but that's was to be expected of strange magic, right? His body already tense from these foreign and unknown emotions, he jumped in surprise when she moved closer and decided to recreate that strange physical bond. "Oh... Alright." At least that provided some answer and now he knew that he wouldn't be hurting her if they touched. No, he would actually be making her feel good. Well then... After a moment's contemplation, he wrapped one arm around her back to hold her to him while his other hand clasped over hers against his chest. The heat flared in him immediately and without consciously knowing it, his lips tilted in that rare but natural way.

Oh yes, that felt much better. If she was honest with herself she would acknowledge this as grand oppotunity to indulge in her own wants even for a breif while. Another little shift in position as his holding prompted her to rely on leaning against him rather than bracing a measured distance away. Hm, that was even better with that tingling feeling flaring up again and settling over her nicely like a blanket. Jae smiled lightly, opening her eyes halfway but not looking at anything in particular. "Just stop thinking about it. Some things don't have real answers."Hm somehow she knew that things were going to be fine...for somereason there in his hold she knew. Magic, or instinct or whatever. "You okay?" because he was rarely quiet, especially on things that could be knowledge acquiring things, like this.

So they were both feeling good right now? The silence said so and though he really did want to know how this was happening, she seemed to be able to read his mind and in some corner of his mind, he found the faith to believe her. Thus came a few moments more of simple silence, warmth humming through his body though it fluctuated at times as if he was supposed to let go. This time though, he couldn't manage the mental effort to do it. "I'm fine. Just... feeling." And attempting to document those feelings and bodily reactions in his mind in as explicitly scientific terms as possible, if only for future reference. It wasn't going to work though, he seemed to realize. But maybe she was thinking more clearly than him? Latching onto that thought, he pulled away from her a little so that he could see her face which he then framed with his hands as they rested against her warm cheeks. "Use one or two words to describe your feelings right now."
