Ellen smiled and shook the girl's hand, her mouth forming her own greeting even though no sound accompanied it. There was a sort of choked sound that vaguely resembled 'nice to meet you', although it was about as close as she'd ever gotten. An embarrassed blush crept across her face as she let go of the girl's hand to jot down another note onto the sticky notes.
Sorry about that. It's nice to meet you. I'm Ellen. Her note read, another small, crooked smile forming on her face. She would've prefered to continue speaking with telepathy, but the risk of reading everyone's mind wasn't one she wanted to take. They wouldn't have to know if she had read their minds anyway; she decided she'd resume speaking telepathically, since she needed the practice.

Reading the note, Blade put her hand on Ellen's shoulder with a large grin. "No worries. So, Ellen? I heard that's what my mom wanted to name me but my dad managed to get my name to be Blade somehow." Laughing at the last bit, Blade looked around at everyone.

Listening carefully to Conner's demands, of sorts, Victoria gave a polite nod to show that she understood every bit of it. "Seven-fifty at the X-Van," she said, discreetly. "Got it." By now, the male had finished eating and left, leaving Victoria alone in the kitchen for the first time....ever. Her eyebrow jumped slightly at this, but even as she pondered over her rather serious plans for this evening, her smile popped back when she remembered her plans for now.
Peeling herself up from the table where she had planted her elbows, the teen walked out of the mess hall, leaving it empty, and returned to the foyer.
"Okay. Come on. Let's Go," she said, shuffling through the small crowd of people and to the front door as if she was not the one to put the 'cruise through town' on hold. "Any interested parties, meet in the garage; We leave now."

"Right then. Nice to meet you too, Ellen. I'd stay and chat a bit, but I've got to go grab my wallet and head out," Morgan said, reading the note handed to him by Ellen. He passed the note to one of the others hanging around the foyer, and headed off to his own room to grab his cash. He brushed a few things off his desk, and grabbed his wallet and keys, making sure everything was in order. Once he was assured of this, he headed back down to the foyer, and then down to the garage to wait for the rest of the folks interested in this "cruise through town".
For now, his conversation with McCoy had been pushed to the back of his mind.
"Morning, person! Pardon if I don't remember your name," David said, watching Jillian stumble into the kitchen.

Conner grabbed the vans keys from the box and quickly manouvered it between the two posts of the lift at the far end of the garage. He turned everything off and jumped down onto the concret floor then walked over to the toolbox that was along the back wall, next to them was the controls of the lift. He pushed the green button and waited as the lift slowly rose to the right height for him to work on it. He opened one of the draws and picked out a large socket and then grabbed the pneumatic drill off of its peg on the wall, fixed the bolt on the business end and began to take off the rear tyres, now raised by the inner rim of the lift. The high pitch whir of the drill in action was deafening.

Sara was the person who got the note from Morgan. She looked it over. "Hello Ellen, I'm Sara." She said with a smile and a wave. She handed the note off to someone else. "Like Morgan I'm on ma way out though." She said apologetically and slipped off to wait in the garage. She winced at the high pitched noise eminating from the drill as Conner removed the rear tires. "Ow....wow that's loud." She said rubbing her ears.

{Remember, high-pitched noise is one of the Symbiont's weaknesses.}
The sound of the drill was more than just deafening to Morgan. It was physically painful. His hands were clapped over his ears, but it did little good. This was one of the most painful experiences that he'd ever gone through. It felt like his head was on fire, a white-hot pain searing through his mind.
"Jesus, turn it off! Turn it off!!" he shouted, almost being brought to his knees by the sound.

"He probably got his hands on the birth certificate before she did. Ellen joked, sending the telepathic message to Blade. If she was ever going to get control of her powers, she was going to have to practice using them. After all, body builders didn't get all... muscle-y... without work. She assumed it would be the same for her powers. If she had time, she'd practice using her telekinetic abilities later that day.
"So, how long have you been here at the... mansion?" Ellen asked, ignoring the temptation to move objects in the foyer with her mind.

Blade looked surprised to hear a voice inside of her head but then smiled and laughed. "You're probably right." Though it would look crazy to others, considering no one had spoken to her to prompt the response, Blade did not care. "Hmm, I just got here last night." She moved to Ellen's side and slung an arm over her shoulder. "Tell you what, I'll stay here and the two of us will explore the mansion together." ((sorry^^ wink )

{Erm, Morgan's not in the foyer. He went down to the garage in a previous post, and is still there.}

Pausing only long enough to make sure she had the needed items, (keys, cash, ID, chap-stick..), were stuffed safely in her pockets, Victoria made a right turn at the foot of the staircase and shuffled through the X-Mansion and straight to the garage. Before she started down the hall to the garage, a loud, mechanical flat-out irritating sound riverbed in her direction, causing the teen to curse silently and grimace as she approached it. Loud noises of any volume, thanks to her mutant ability, never bothered her, neither did they effect her hearing like they would anyone else. As was most often the case, she found noises of this sort as more of an annoyance then an actual discomfort.
Striding in without a word, it took only an instant for Victoria to find the source of the problem. It was Conner, at the back of the garage, working underneath the X-Van like he said he would. Assuming he was brilliant enough to have ear protection for his own sake, Victoria under ordinary circumstances would have let him be, but...since Sara and Morgan, the later more so then the former, were in the area, squirming in near agony, something had to be done. Victoria accomplished this in the simplest and most effective way possible: She unplugged the damn thing.
Striding over to Conner's end of the garage, she grabbed the power cord near the wall jack and with one hefty tug, dislocated it completely, causing the deafening roar to die without fuss.
"Are you two okay?" she asked, turning to face Morgan, as well as Sara.

And as suddenly as it had begun, the pain stopped. The noise had ceased, and his head was no longer going to burst. He blinked and shook his head out, trying to stop the ringing in his ears. Morgan looked around, and saw that Victoria had unplugged the drill, and was saying something to him. Thanks to his ears still ringing, he could barely make out what she'd said, but the look of concern on her face was plain enough.
"Yeah, I'll be fine, just give me a minute for my ears to stop ringing. Thank god you unplugged it. That was the worst pain I've ever felt, like my whole head was on fire or something. I dunno what would've happened if you hadn't turned it off. I'd kiss you, but we don't know each other that well yet," Morgan said, trying to smile even as he raised a hand to his temple as the ringing in his ears brought on a mild headache.

"You're welcome," said Victoria, grinning heavily but appreciating Morgan's thanks all the same. Glancing over at Conner, Victoria was fairly sure he was aware of the presence of others in the garage (after all, pneumatic drills don't de-power all by themselves), she tapped him lightly on the shoulder just to be sure.
"Hey," she said, peaking under the X-Van to look at him. "Sorry about that, but the noise was driving them crazy so I unplugged the thing. Just give us about a minute and a half to get out of your way and then you can continue to your hearts desire. Mkay?"
Flashing another quick smile, Victoria backed away from the shadow of the X-Van and moved to where the other two were while digging around in her pocket for something specific. She found the keys first, so she held those tight in her right hand before finding the small, travel-friendly packet of aspirin she had been looking for and so stopped just in front of Morgan.
"Aspirin for your headache?" she asked, holding out the packet for him to take, if he so choose.

{Now, by packet, do you mean a paper thing with only two pills, or one of those small travel-sized bottles with a dozen pills in it? 'Cause I'm thinking it's the latter.}
"Aaand... Marry me," Morgan said jokingly, taking the offered packet of aspirin. He tilted the packet, tipped a couple aspirin into his palm, and popped them into his mouth. "Those should start working in a few minutes," he said, handing back the container and swallowing the pills.

((I meant the ones with 1-2 pills in it. It's damn hard to get a bottle of anything in your jean pocket without looking obvious. They rattle too much, for one.))
Victoria smiled and gave a quick laugh as Morgan took the meds she offered him and proposed all in the same motion. "Sorry," she said shaking her head and returning his joke offer with a joke rejection of her own. "But I barely know you...maybe later."
Taking back the few remaining aspirin she was about to tuck them in her pocket when she remembered Sara was probably suffering as well. "Aspirin for you?" she offered. "If not, pack up so we can go and get out of Conner's way."
