Chris Powell Do you like Sam Raimi? Do you like Evil Dead? Then you'll love Drag Me to Hell! Classic Evil Dead Raimi action. Oh, yeah. Second favorite movie of the year, after Basterds. Zombieland was indeed ridiculously entertaining, though. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, zombie movies of all time, and well worth a viewing.

Chris Powell Do you like Sam Raimi? Do you like Evil Dead? Then you'll love Drag Me to Hell! Classic Evil Dead Raimi action. True, true, false. I dunno man, Drag Me to Hell sucked pretty hard. The effects were good and it was amusing at times, but overall it was boring and predictable. It just felt like watching an episode of Tales from the Crypt or something, it wasn't SAM RAIMI RETURNS TO HORROR AFTER THREE LAME SUPERHERO MOVIES TO DO SOMETHING AWESOME. It was more like Spider-Man 3 killed something deep inside him.

I honestly couldn't have loved it more. Evil Dead, it's not, but it's certainly a huge step up from Spider-Man 3. Raimi is a virtuoso. The man knows how to work a camera, and the direction in DMTH definitely showed that. The story was well-formed and cohesive, though I will give you a bit predictable. It walked the line between horror and comedy brilliantly, though Raimi did pretty much set the standard for that with Evil Dead 2. Yeah, there was some hokey acting and some bad dialog, but that all added to the overarching campiness of the whole thing. I though it was loads of fun, and the farthest thing from boring. Maybe I'm a bit biased because it felt like a throwback to Evil Dead 2, which just so happens to be my favorite movie of all time. Pretty much my only complaint was the lack of Bruce Campbell. I mean, I love David Paymer as much as the next guy, but that role would've been great for him.

Nick Joseph Fury Zombieland was indeed ridiculously entertaining, though. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, zombie movies of all time, and well worth a viewing. Shaun of the dead, while hilarious actually had some genuinely good horror stuff going on. Zombieland turned very quickly into just a straight comedy with some undead asskicking along the way. You spent most of the movie with pretty much no emotional investment in the characters (Although that changed drastically with the Buck reveal.), so you could just go along for the rise and the cheap laughs. Bonus points for Garden Weasel as a weapon. I approve. In other news: Dave won Hell's Kitchen. ******** yeah.

Absolutely terrible trailer. I mean, it looks like a lot of fun, and I definitely want to see it, but the trailer looks like it was edited by Sly himself. Which is actually kind of plausible... I doubt it's the actual trailer, though, so whatever. Looks like a good old fashioned action movie and, with that cast, that's all I could expect or want from it.

I've heard a lot of hype about that movie, mostly from Dolph Ludgren, but I never heard anything about Statham, Li, or Rourke being involved until now. eek

Technologist Tony Stark I've heard a lot of hype about that movie, mostly from Dolph Ludgren, but I never heard anything about Statham, Li, or Rourke being involved until now. eek Wiki says Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis will be making cameos as well.
