Ellen nodded, not realizing he couldn't see the gesture. She was excited about the institute; if she was lucky, she'd be able to control her powers in no time. Several leaves fluttered off of the trees she passed, even though there was no wind at the time. When she realized that Connor had stopped, she touched down a few feet away from the other mutant. The leaves stopped falling when she wasn't using her powers, something else she hadn't truly noticed. Her hand darted into her pocket to make sure she had her notepad and pencil, the familiar, tattered paper brushing her fingertips. A smil flashed across her face; she couldn't press her luck with her powers too much longer, but she resisted her better judgement.

"So, is it around here?" Ellen projected eagerly, practically bouncing on the spot.

"Sure," said Victoria with a small nod, addressing Kevin once again. "So long as you point me in the right direction, I'll drop you off, no problem." Deciding on not questioning what he may have had planned for himself after being dropped off, Victoria slid off the stool entirely. Turning so that her back was to the counter, she settled for leaning her elbows against it as she crossed her booted feet. Her eyes passing over the second male in the room, the quiet one, for only a second, she let them focus on Sara as well as the other new girl.

"What about a roving tour of Bayville?" she asked, or rather offer to the two females. "Save for the locales of the Mall and the Mega-Mart, I'm fairly in the dark as to what there is to do around here as well. We can explore together, if you're up for it."

My office is upstairs, Darius. Said the Professor, telepathically, of course. The only one at the end of the middle hall, you can't miss it.

'Wow ok......uh thanks......' Darius thought, he was a little surprised from getting a massage, it was like as if some one came into the room and you didn't know they were there and said something to you, at least he was in sort of the right area. He went down the hall he was in to get to the middle hall and walked down looking at the doors till he got to the last door in the hall. He took a deep breath, hoping he would screw up this particular social situation, and knocked on the door.

Conner nodded through the trees to where, just barely, he could see the wall of the house.
"It's just a few hundred yards this way." He answered her vocally. He reached into his back pocket for his notebook and pulled it out, it had been riding uncomfortably back there. "Let's go, hen, if we're quick we can get you enrolled, fed and watered in a couple of hours." He headed back into the forest had a slow pace so Ellen could follow.
The path through the trees was quite wide and the tree branches didn't hinder him as he moved between them. A couple of minutes passed and he was out on the lawn, a couple more and he walked by the garage, the convertible was there so he knew Victoria was home. He walked up the steps to the entrance and opened the door and then waited for Ellen to pass through.

"He lives!" said Victoria, the element of surprise laced in her voice as Morgan sauntered lazily into the kitchen. Even though it had been over an hour since she saw him last, (and inadvertently woke him up), he hardly seemed any more alert or aware of his surrounding. Though deep her little heart she felt guilty for this, the young mutant could not help but laugh silently to herself. Composing herself quickly, however, she replied to his question with a quick 'Nothing much, you?' before turning back to her previous conversation.

"A roving tour it is, then," the teen said in agreement to the new girl and Sara, the slightly less new girl. "I've already got the keys and I've eaten enough to last me for a few minutes, so I'm ready to bolt when you guys are."

"Come in, Darius. It's unlocked," said the Professor, via actual verbal speech this time as opposed to telepathic.

Owen finally reached a destination that he thought was as good as any; a city park. His eyes wandered to and fro, taking in the minor bustle: the people walking their dogs, the younger kids flying kites and playing with action figures while the older kids hung out in small groups and discussed......whatever it was that they discussed, elderly people playing their board games, and the occasional cyclist. At least bicycles don't make a racket, he thought wearily as he quietly plodded across the grass and up to a large tree, where he sat with his back against the rough bark, his hands clasped behind his head. He half-closed his eyes and tried to relax, at the same time keeping a casual lookout for any signs of trouble.

Ellen nodded, a little confused by him calling her a hen. She'd been called many things in the past, although she'd never been referred to as common fowl. Shrugging, she followed him to the front gates, her eyes wide as she looked around at the scenery. This was the sort of thing she imagined when reading her stories, although her imagination sometimes made things a bit too fantastical. Her stomach gurgled, which brought her back to the present. Conner was standing at the door, waiting for her to go inside. Wasting no time, she ran in through the doors quickly, her eyes still open wide as she took everything in. It was so exciting! She couldn't resist looking around at everything.

In her eagerness, unfortunately, Ellen's powers began to run with her emotion. Several of the books and vases in the main foyer began rattling, which brought her attention to her powers. She clenched her fists and shut her eyes tight, trying to regain control. However, it's difficult to regain something you didn't have in the first place. Her mouth opened in a silent scream of despair as the vases and books began to fly rapidly around the room, crashing into the walls loudly and scattering shards of glass everywhere. After a few minutes, the episode subsided, tattered pages and chunks of colored clay littering the ground. So much for having a good day with her powers.
