"Well if that's the way it is then that's fine." Caden was just interested, he wasn't trying to use Savvy to gain anything he just wanted to know about how she went about with her magic and what she does. "Yeah I guess I am, it can be interesting and good to know about. " A small shrug from him. Though even though Caden found her type of magic interesting he still feared it to a certain point. The last thing he wanted to do was to become one of those creatures she used. A turn to Hunter and he gave the man a light nod. "That is true, it applies to basically anything one can use. Having the power is one thing but one always needs the knowledge to use it."

"For someone that has no real power at all, you have a remarkable grasp on how to manage it."
a slight smirk at Caden, before turning his attention back to Savvy.
"Power I know about. and I know about not giving mercy. there's no place for that out here. you can even ask Captain Nereem. I'm sure she's abandoned a few in her time as well. Mercy is a weakness one can't afford."
A slight chuckle.
"I imagine present circumstances have been testing both of us in that regaurd. by any and all other means, I should have dumped both you and your friend overboard a long time ago and left you for dead. and I imagine there have been plenty of times where your personal codes as well dictated that I should be some rotting pile of fleshy material."
"But, since my contract forbids me from acting as such, and you don't know how to sail much less want to deal with the crew if you try something, we've both had to swallow that personal code a few times."

"As I heard my grandfather say that he had heard from a human's voice...the saying of scholars go knowledge is power, and power corrupts. That is of course if you use it in reckless abandon. Sometimes short lifespans are good...make you learn fast." Shifting her weight lightly as she often did and kicking the deck/rail again as if she as doing it to keep track of something or other. "Yes, that's a rather accurate description...though I did contemplate putting scorpions in your bed as well and watching you writhe in agony, either dying or begging me to cure you." Grinning lightly in her own creepy evil way. "I could always just necro-bomb your ship, kill you all in one go and be captain of a new ship complete with crew. But....I hate boats, they have potential for little other thans sand and water..."

A blink as Caden turned to Hunter and he raised an eyebrow before giving a light shrug. "It's easy to learn how to manage and take care of power by learning about it from people who have set the mark before hand. There have been a lot of people who have learn the mistake of going for power and then later on finding that they could not control it and get themselves or someone else killed. Then there are those who know the boundaries set before and proceed with caution. The rest of us just have to take from their examples and learn from them." If one knew about the book he carried with him then one would boast of how he reads too much, after all stories are good places to learn of life long lessons sometimes even though it is just fiction.
A look to Savvy and he gave a small nod. "Those are some wise words. Though I guess short life spans can be seen in a good way like that. Sometimes knowing how long one may live may strive them to actually learn as much as one can to grasp things easier." Though a raise of his eyebrow as both Hunter and Savvy went back and forth telling one another what they would have done to the other. "Well Hunter there are times when one has to put up with something they don't care for in order to gain or do something. Life can be like that." A look to Savvy and he had a look of shock on him for a second. "Necro-bomb? Sounds terrifying."

"Scorpions don't bother me. you aren't the first to think to try it, and I'm sure you won't be the last. I've had food and drink spiked with it, rum spiked with it, someone put on under my pillow, someone put one ina boot one time. come to think of it, I think that was one of the girls at the brothel I met Desdemona at."
A shrug.
"But then your still stuck with a boat, with no crew, that you can't sail to port to get a new crew for. because I can't imagine you'd let something that, destructive sounding, free at port to kill or frighten off all your potential crew replacement."
glance across the way again.
"That little pest is sure taking her sweet time to get ready to inform me about what the hell went on over on the Claw. I'm the captain of this ship and the primary deal broker. I shouldn't be having to get second hand information or be left out of planning."

Shy stiffened for a moment as she was grabbed but she relaxed since Sky was careful with talons and whatnot. She may be small but she was still bigger than Shyrae was. Glancing at the water longingly, she nodded. "Sounds wonderful." Shyrae glanced back at the ship and then runed a small veil over half the pool since that's all she could really manage. Her runing power had it's limits.
Stripping down, she dove into the cool water and laughed as she broke the surface happily. "It feels sooo good." How long had it been since she'd had a real bath with more than just barrel water? Too long.
"I figured it was our other Captain getting his pants in a twist. He tends to jump the gun, quite literally, more often than not." Shaking his head and nodding. "I can't quite explain it so maybe that does it for me. I just think we may have had the key in reach and let it go..." Glancing at the others with a frown for a moment, "What are we waiting for?" Eilynne ensured the pendant was around Jae's neck where it promptly glowed a deep emerald green the moment it touched her scales. "Perfect. Let's go." She changed back into the raven and took flight, using a simple shielding spell so that she could sit on Jae's shoulder and the dragon wouldn't recognize her presence. If he somehow could, she'd simply unveil herself and claim she was Jae's guard.

"Yet at the same time...learning fast in such a short span can cripple the over eager being and merely lead to early termination of life. It's a fine sharp edge that one must partake in and learn to weild." Of course she didn't see his look of shock, but she could hear it in his voice...silly humans always spoke their emotions whether or not they were trying to hide it. "Terrifying is one word for it. I would call it useful and a time saver." Sniffing lightly at Hunter's comment. "You've never seen these kinds of scorpions." But she didn't give reaction when he again tried to tell her that she couldn't do just that. She'd had the boat, and she's have the undead crew to run it and she would barely have to lift a finger. She'd no need for new crew if she had that anyway. "You'd be surprised what I'd do. I wouldn't underestimate me on any level, Captain." Ears twitching slightly at the change in direction of his voice. "Then why are you not over there? Too prideful and thus making them come over here? I know what's going on. I've heard every word." Chuckling at that...yes she had ears everywhere. She'd learned the art of manipulation from her oldest brother...and the first key to it was knowing your information that others maybe didn't want you to know.
Of course Sky was quite in the mindset of monkey see, monkey do...or in this case dragon see, dragon do...and practice was a good thing. She waded into the water somewhat, before she pulled a shift of her forms...a little slow before she got it, and blinked. Oh wait...now her clothes were wet from the waist down...for a moment she watched Shyrae...she had taken her clothes off...so it must be okay to take clothes off when you take a bath right? Right. Thusly with some struggling hse managed out of her clothes and threw them on shore...promptly dragon swimming out into deeper water, which was namely using her tail as a rudder and wings for forward motion, doggy paddling without the extremety flailing in the water. "Feels strange."
"Aren't they always in a twist when it comes to Hunter? He can't live any other way." But a raise of her eyebrow at her first mate. "Are you getting superstitious on me again? And what key? THere's no key to anything...this isn't even really our business." Crossing her arms over her chest. "We're waiting on a plan it seems...we're neck deep in hot water and the hesitance of everyone is a weigh down from how we usually do things. Either way...I suppose we should enjoy our idle time. An oasis is a grand place to take a breather after all."
A blink at the color change in the pendant, which she wasn't too sure of exactly why that happened before she waiting on Eilynne, taking to the air as soon as she joined her and gliding over to land on the sand in front of the black. Wow...she was so snack size for this guy. Seeing him look over, she cleared her throat and gave him a nod. "Jaebelltiah, Apprentice Strategist of the Illindal Guardians." Because it saved time to get it out of the way. "Commander Kaznec said you knew the area around here...and we makes means to get out via a plan, so...we would all be most greatful if you could more accurately help out by giving me chart specific locations and the like." She wasn't good at this approaching thing....
He watched her for a moment before he shifted his positon, sitting back on his haunches and scooping up the white dragon in his paw, completely enclosing it around her and the bird on her shoulder as he had done so, caging her in his palm a moment before raising his paw eye level and opening it, revealing Bell sitting safetly there, but a little surprised looking. "Strategist hm? You don't even look full grown enough yet to be given such a position yet...but clearly scent tells me otherwise. You know you really shouldn't be out here. Dangerous for young dragonesses like yourself, Jaebelltiah."
She swallowed...that was, well...really personal wasn't it. And well, she kind of knew what he was talking about but at the same time didn't...if she were raised by solely dragons she may of had a better understanding, but she wasn't and thus she had base scant knowledge...it was still something you didn't discuss with people you didn't know, but it let her have something to account that recent feeling on. Or rather an excuse. So for the moment she faultered under his knowledge, but remained motionless where she was...he could crush her with a single talon if he wanted. "Yes well...risks have to be taken sometimes...now if you would please..."
"Yes yes...you wanted charting. I hope I can get things across without actually showing them to you. What with an expanse like this it's the little differences that make the markers. But let's see." Waiting for her to get one of her maps spread out and looking at it somewhat with one large eye. "Let's start with the established camp. It's quite large, but runs a cave system." Continuing on with that information for the moment, watching the little dragon scribble everynow and then.

"There's an understanding on the sands. a captain's ship is like a private city unto themselves. you don't, normally, just walk over uninvited. It would be much the same manners as if I walked into your cabin on my ship without warning or cause. now granted, I have that right under normal provisions, seeing as this is my ship, but it's not good form to do that to a woman."
but a moment taken looking at Savvy.
"I don't underestimate you. but you don't know everything. because in many cases, it's not what is said, but what isn't said, that's the most important. But, since you do know what was said, and that's probably known to our little annoyance, which is why I'm not getting to get the private treatment. Either that or she don't like me anymore than I her and she's being dangerously obstinante about it. So why don't you enlighten me as to what was discussed."

Caden listened to Savvy and gave a light nod to her words. "That is true one must find a middle ground when they have a short life span." Though a blink as she went on giving a hint about what her bomb was like. "Time saver huh? Ever used it before?" He had to wonder, though he hoped he would not have to see it in action before this was all over. So he went quiet as the two went on talking, Savvy and Hunter, both strong in their own ways and yet always different. "I don't think anyone should, after all we haven't seen what you can completely do and I don't think anyone wants to be caught on the wrong side when you are using your magic."
A pause before looking at the both of them. "Heard every word of what?" Well Caden was the only one who hasn't been over there other than Hunter since he was below deck. The dragons were always over there and not here, probably Shyrae was as well. So more or less he was in the dark about all this as well.

"Oh so you do have some honor to you. How nice to know that you do have some respect for what happens, even on your own ship. Elven I may be, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind you walking in on me doing whatever." Well...nice to know that they at least seemed to honestly not underestimate her. "Of course I've used it before. It's handy." Smirking. "You are far smarter humans than others I have encountered. They think certain advantages give them an edge and it leads them to folly."
Shifting her right again she clearned her throat. "In accordance with the questions that you were asked earlier, they're forming a plan and route of travel that works under the method of distraction and concealment from the riders. Though there are conflicting ideas....the Commander does not want to use any form of bait while the others are willing, seeing as dragon bait would be quite tempting. They're going to try and get information from the black one...whom has an interesting quirk about him." And thus a tidbit she was obviously keeping to herself unless someone provided her incentive otherwise. "The cautious method....sometimes the worst."

Shyrae glanced over to see Sky rechange forms and she was just so excited for her that she could now do it at whim and will. It took her a minute to relax back in the water and focus on Sky moving about and flailing. "To be little or can you feel the temperature of the water? What feels strange about it, Sky?" She should be keeping track of everything in a journal of sorts that she could send to Dhairiss to pass onto his grandfather. She'd yet to meet Kieran with her mother's need to keep her locked down and inability to let go. He'd been a few times when she was a baby but he'd never come to see her. She'd like to meet him one day, maybe see Andal, too. Dhairiss could take her.
"True." Giving a chuckle and then shaking his head. "A good pirate has respect for three things: the legends and myths surrounding the sandseas, the sandsea herself, and losing the favor and affection of his Captain." He knew better than to pursue things any further but he had that niggling feeling. "No, but we were yanked in when you signed on with Hunter and it does affect us in some ways. I'm just thinking out loud is all."
Eilynne remained relaxed even through the caging since in an instant the dragon could be put down. She knew the methods even if she didn't employ them. Listening with a careful ear, she let the other two converse and resolved to ensure the dragon was telling the full truth. Her gaze snapped to the black and her eyes narrowed. If he was going to say such things about Jaebell, she was going to cut the conversation short. Trill in warning since she knew the dragon knew she was there.

"For once we do agree. I dislike the cautious method myself, though I have employed it form time to time. The only reason I'm sitting now is because black boy out there knows the terrain better than me. But we can't wait forever. This is Fang's territory. and I have no doubt he's looking for us. I'd prefer not to get into it with the Serpent again if I can help it."
Desdemona was pacing in her room, trying to plan how to get the Captain alone long enough to voice her annoyance and concern without appearing to be like Bell implied, some dragoness in heat. She waned no more barbs on that subject at the moment. of course, the offhand idea to try and seduce Kanzec made her maliciously smile, but that coudl be saved for later.
Fang was in his cabin, absolutely infuriated. Even his drugs weren't calming his temper. How dare that dragon hold his ship in hostage by using those two things. He was going to shoot that dragon the minute he saw him. shoot him with a damned cannon, and make sure to shove the barrel in his throat first for good measure.

So she has used it, that was a little creepy. Though then again when one learns something that could be useful why not try it out or actually use it? Thinking about that made Caden happy that Savvy was on their side. Though a blink at her compliment and he blinked a few times. Caden did not expect that from her, must be a rare moment. "Well thanks, I guess. Though you're right and those are the kind of people who don't think straight. In order to keep oneself alive one needs to think twice before acting."
So he fully rested against the railing, listening to Savvy explain what she had heard earlier. "I see what you mean, this way of going about can have many problems and we could find ourselves in a very bad situation if things don't go as acoording to the plan." Though he turned to her and raised an eyebrow. "What kind of quirk? When I saw him before I knew the black was odd for ever showing himself like he did. So what's so special about him? A look to Hunter and the guardian gave a small nod, "That's true, the more we wait the better the chance we have of one of Fang's cannon balls landing on the deck again. If that doesn't spur us to move then I don't know what will."

"I do not see why you do not just do away with him in some fashion. I'm sure you could gather more than enough allies. Where I come from if there is a threat to your livelyhood that will do you harm on a giddy whim...you eliminate them in some fashion." Ears twitching and she turned her head slightly to hear Caden better. "Well if I told you everything I know, that would make me useless to the situation now wouldn't it? I don't know if it's a useful attribute to have, though it could be complicating if feelings get in the way and so on."
"Feel different. Water different." Of course yes she was blaming the water for the different feel, she didn't have scales all over anymore and that did mean she could feel temperature and what not more drastically. Taking and breath and a flap of wings had her disappearing under the water...staying under a good amount time before coming back up sputtering and flailing some. That wasn't right! "Breath go away..." Usually she could hold her breath for a long long time underwater.
"I've got to stop getting myself in this mess and get back to my pirating. There are valuable stones out there that need my attention and hoarding and they're not getting so. You know...after this I think we should make port for a while. Get the Gale Claw all gussied up, buy some new equipment, hire on some new crew and what not."
He was glad he had ruffled her with that. After all, any dragoness knew that she was pretty much target to any male dragon old enough to pick up on such things as well. Oh that made his job so much easier...at least on his end of the deal...he could only hope Fang wasn't being too human on the other end. A look to the bird, knowing she wasn't normal and at the same time not fearing her. Sometimes those creatures missed what was right under their noses.
She should be suspicious that he knew so much, like he had walked the caves. At the same time, she knew he hadn't. While he had good structure details and generalities, he lacked detail...she'd been trianed to look for such things and thus pick out erroneous information. But all in all, she was getting the information she needed, askign questions when she wanted more and he was generally cooperative. Pretty soon though it seemed the flow of information was over. "Is that all?"
"All that would be useful to you and yours, little dragon. Of course, there is always other information. If you're smart...you'll find yourself quite useful in all of this." From what he had been observing...this one had something to prove and if he could push her into her own doings, all the better as well.

Hunter gave a small chuckle.
"allies? your looking at all our allies. We have two ships, three younger dragons, two elves, one one barely able to think for herself former pet dragon. Doing away with him would be nice. and I would love to do it. I bet his scales and other body parts would make great ship additions."
A small smirk.
"But, without the little star pest's addition abilities, I'm afraid outside of getting help from the Burning Prince, we're out of luck."
