"Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, this place is the first roof over my head in months that wasn't made of cardboard," he replied. "And there's running water, and there's food. A combination of those three things is something I haven't had for years, and I do mean years," David explained, scratching another scar on his body, this time one of the large ones on his abdomen. He could never figure out why, but they always seemed to itch a bit in the morning. That, and they seemed to be a little more sensitive.
-------------------------------------------------------
Now fully awake, due in no small part to Victoria knocking on his door earlier, Morgan had busied himself with getting fully dressed (something that didn't take long thanks to one of the traits of the black goo), and now headed down to the infirmary, to find out exactly what that black goo was.
"Doc? You here?" he called out as he strolled in through the double doors.
"Yes, yes, no need to shout, m'boy. What seems to be the trouble?" McCoy replied, raising a furry eyebrow as he appeared from behind a table, obviously tinkering with something.
"Sorry. I couldn't see you, so..." Morgan apologized
"It's quite alright. Now, what can I do for you?"
"Well, it's a bit of a long story, but I need you to analyze something for me," Morgan said, lowering his voice slightly.
"Certainly, m'boy, but may I ask what it is you need analyzed, and why?"
"This should answer both of those questions," he said, willing a bit of the "cloth" that was covering his upper torso to melt back into a gelatinous mass. McCoy stood there for a few moments, staring with utmost fascination at the black substance. "This- This is- I don't know how to describe it!" McCoy said, hurrying to get a petri dish and a pair of scissors.
He quickly snipped off a small sample, placing it into the plastic dish and covering it with the lid. "I don't know what this is, but it seems to be, well, alive! Morgan, where on earth did you find this?!" McCoy asked, still fascinated by the small sample that seemed to be bouncing around inside it's container, as though struggling to be free.
"Like I said, long story, one which I'd prefer not to discuss right now," Morgan replied. "And I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about this. It hasn't cause me any harm, or even the slightest discomfort so far, and I don't want anybody getting worked up over nothing. Just give me a call when you know more, okay?" he said, letting the exposed part on his arm morph itself back into a shirt.
"Morgan, wait! I'd like to keep you here for observation, in case-"
"In case what? This thing's been attached to me for at least a day now. If something was going to happen, it would've happened by now. Please, don't tell anyone about this, okay?"
"Very well. This conversation never happened," McCoy said with a resigned sigh.

Laura nodded at him. "Fair enough. Sounds like a nice place, I just hope I don't cause all hell to decend upon it. But, if Mystique really does know what she's doing by taking me in, we should be fine."
Then, her stomach grumbled a bit at her. So, she stood, and with a little rummaging, managed to scrounge up a bowl, a spoon, some Fruit Loops, and some milk. She sat back down, and poured the cereal and milk into the bowl. As she began to dig in, she asked the room at large, "So, what do you all do for entertainment around here?"

"I've been sleeping as much as I can. In addition to the roof, I've also got a nice bed to sleep in. I'm trying to catch up on all the sleep I've missed over the past few years. Other than that, we (or at least, I) usually watch TV or hang out in the pool out back. And wow, that cereal looks good," David said, realizing how hungry he was at the moment.
He rummaged around for his own dishes, and poured a bowl for himself. He dug in, savoring the mouthfuls more than a normal person might. "Food tastes really good when you normally don't know when the next meal is," he remarked, after swallowing the mouthful to insure he didn't choked.

Tobias shrugged. "I usually set stuff on fire, but that's just me." He resumed frying some bacon on the back of his hand.
Aarin shrugged. "Same reason I know I can trust you. And why the hell would I work for that tart, anyway? She's an idiot."

Laura snickered at David's food comment and raised her spoon. "Amen to that!!" she said saluting him. "And when it comes to burning things," she said turning to the boy who'd been called Tobias, " who doesn't enjoy a good bonfire?"
She dug back into her own cereal, relishing the fruity taste. So, she thought to herself as she ate, They had a pool. That would be handy for keeping in shape. At least she wouldn't have to worry about loosing any of her conditioning while she was here. As for the sleeping and TV, she wouldn't mind getting to relax a bit. Not that she could completely relax by any means until she'd wiped out her hunters. But, this was probably be the closest thing she'd get until then.

Ellen instantly looked a little embarrassed, her stance shifting to an even more uncomfortable one because of the feeling. Thinking up a response that didn't sound too much like she was a stalker, she sent him the message mentally; her power was being very cooperative, which surprised her slightly.
"Well, I live on that street and I saw someone heading over to their property. I realized it was you when I came closer so... yeah... Ellen said, her mental voice displaying her unease better than her body language. However, her disposition changed when he began talking about the Institute. She could go somewhere to learn how to control her powers? Her face brightened with hope and she smiled wide, looking as though she hadn't smiled properly in a long time.
"You really mean it? You'd let me come with you?" Ellen asked, seeming like a completely different person than the one who'd been standing on the rooftop moments before. She'd need to explain to her parents, but she was sure she'd finally found a place where she'd fit in. Truth be told, she had difficulty remembering a time when she'd been happier.

Sara smiled at Damon as he debated with himself. "Come on now...no need to be shy." She said grinning. "I love to cook....so you want an omlet right?" She asked and nodded at Blade. "Sure thing Blade." She said and waved Damon to a chair. "Come on in and sit down while I make ya'll omlets." She said and began to bustle to get them fixed and ready.
---------------------------------------------------------
She watched almost facinated as Tobias fried bacon on the back of his hand. "Tobias....that is amazing....messy as heck...but amazing." She said and nodded. "Can't argue with good food....even the coffee here is pretty good." She said debating on that second cup. "As for me....there's a pool out back....I usually lay out back there and work on the Tan i'll never be able to see." She said looking at her green skin. "Or go for a swim."

Jogging around the neighboorhood started to take its toll on Albel but he manged to gasp out, "Fair Enough..., you don't look the type... to be Mystique's dog anyway". while cutting across a park he continued, "The brotherhood ...was getting ...kind of lame, this idea ...has some ...potential to it..." Stopping to catch his breath a thought crossed his mind, "I don't mean to sound pessimistic but if you leave the brotherhood where do you plan to go, you'll have the brotherhood, x-men, and potentially shield after you, plan to live in a cave?".

Sara's forward nature ended the conversation before Damon had time to give his input. And it didn't seem she was going to reconsider. With a small sigh, he took one of the chairs at the end of the table, a few seats away from the others. His apprehension towards others hadn't faded, much to his own dismay.
But as he sat there, the voices of the others filling the room, Damon had time to gather his thoughts on his present situation. He was in a school for mutants, in a city he knew nothing about. He hadn't even been fortunate enough to be able to grab some of his things from his home before he had gone on the run. So his sole possessions were the clothes on his back. He had a small amount of pocket cash with him, but it wouldn't take him very far in the way of anything.
Things looked... bleak at best.

Kevin woke up in his bed at the Institute and didn't know how he got there. He looked around his room and realized he couldn't remember what happend during the last day. He got out of his bed and then he got dressed. Then Kevin walked down stairs and sat down in the kitchend, trying to remember what happened to him.
Tabitha came driving down the road to the school thinking if she was making the right choice. She had all of her belongings with her that she left in her old apratment. She was officially going to move back in, but was this what she wanted. She stopped her Jeep at the gate and pondered out what she was going to do.

Since she had finished eating and neither of the new recruits seemed to be of the talkative variety, within a space of a few minutes, Victoria found herself bored out of her mind. Still perched atop on of the stool at the kitchen island, she mindlessly kicked her feet beneath her as the upper part of her body slumped limply over the counter. Silently resting her chin on her cross arms, dark, unfocused eyes stared blankly out in front of her, which meant the only real way she was aware of her surroundings was via sound. Even so, everyone around here seemed to be suddenly suffering from oil painting-ism which was slowly eating away at her sanity. If she did not get out of her or if something did not happen now then Victoria could easily seeing herself kick a hole in the wall just to break the monotony.
Shifting as is she was about to get down from the stool, she paused and her eyes cam into focus as she felt a familiar jingle in the pocket in her jacket. It was the same one she had been wearing yesterday, which could only mean one thing... Knowing that there was a gold treasure waiting for her, she reached into her pocket and grinned as she pulled out it's only contents: The key's to Scott's convertible.
"Does anyone," she asked, toning down her grin slightly and choosing her words carefully as she addressed the whole kitchen. "Have any plans for this morning? Besides stuffing their faces, I mean..."

Kevin got up off aof his seat to go get cereal from the pantry and milk from the refrigirator. As he poured the milk into his bowl of Corn Flakes he kept on trying to think of what happened. He couldn't remember anything about what happened the previous day. Then something came to him. A circus. For some reason that word came to his mind. Was there a circus yesterday that he went too? He thought maybe if he found out more about this circus he could remember better.
Then his train of thought was broken by Victoria. He looked up at her and then said "I don't have any plans for the day..or I think I don't have any plans. Why? Do you have something..." Then Kevin noticed that Victoria was holding keys in her hands and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing.

Darius arrived back in Bayville look over all saddened than his usually happy demeanor, somehow he had lost Kidd at the circus and after a day of her not returning, he left to go find her. He knew he wasn’t gone very long. He knew he shouldn’t dwell it for long. He was more worried for Kidd wherever she was. He returned to the X-mansion seeing as that’s ware he had been staying a short time, He had sort of snuck in and stayed mainly because Kidd was there. He knew he needed to find the guy in charge to see if he can stay. He wasn’t sure were to start though.

Sara watched him sit down. "Would you like an omlet Damon or would ya rather have some regular eggs?" She said as she cut up stuff for Blades Omlet. "There's cereal and stuff too if yer not an egg person." She added and looked at Victoria. "Not really." She admitted as she broke the eggs for the omlet and started beating them professionally with a fork.

Owen continued to walk with his shoulders slumped and his eyes on the sidewalk, occasionally looking up and taking in his surroundings. He was in a less shabby looking place than last time, but as far as he was concerned, if it had plenty of people, it was just as undesirable. He'd seen them everywhere; while he was out walking, through the broken glass of the church windows, and as far back as he could remember, when he was a normal little boy who went to school. He'd seen them act the barbarians that they were: throwing garbage on the ground without a second glance, babbling with metal bits piercing their tongues, spitting on sidewalks because they thought it looked cool, and playing their music so loud it seemed to make everything within a 5 mile radius shake and made Owen's teeth grind all by themselves. A rushing noise filled his ears, and he just managed to move out of the way as a pair of teenage boys flew past him on their skateboards. "Watch where you're going, you puny little freak!" one of them yelled with a slight glance back at him. Owen ignored them and continued to walk along, though keeping his head up to make sure he saw any other obstacles that came his way. He'd forgotten already that school was out; he'd have to be more careful.
