Hospital stint. Got here on the 4th, wasn't really capable of being online until a few days ago.

Nah, if it was an MMO I would've said something much sooner. I'm getting better, still in the hospital unfortunately.

I've been trying to log into IRC for three days now, but for some reason I can't connect. Keep getting disconnection errors and then it tries to reconnect about four times before it just gives up again. I'm not sure what it is, but I have a feeling it has something to do with the hospital's web filter program. Why I have no idea, but it's the only thing I can see holding me back from actually being able to connect.

Until I can figure it out, you might want to just PM me with some of the pertinent highlights.

Well, after getting a bit worse I got better and here I am. I've posted, I'm on IRC, and I've gotta get these AC some projectile training soon. I feel like I could fit it into the current "Day" we have going and just have it as a late afternoon class.

Robot body is definitely more convenient. I mean, then I would never get sick. I'd like to keep my brain though, that would be nice.

We should probably specify somewhere when classes actually begin. If I remember correctly, this one in particular was mid-afternoon-ish since we'd just come back from a spar. But, I think if we could get everyone on the same page we could do one morning class, a mid-day break, and then a late afternoon class. That way we can at least attempt to move the classes faster.

Yeah, I was just assuming post prep stages. I don't want any faulty models.

Data copy, if anything to ensure that if my body was damaged and so was the copy, I could just go pop in another. I'd really have to be careful about where I kept them though.

Gonna have to stop you there man. You've obviously got a few misconceptions going on, that make your last couple posts very strange, and in fact impossible.

First, the "Store" you went to, isn't a store. It's a secure locked building storing all the village's resources. It's guarded constantly, and access is only allowed by permission from the council, and only to take specific items. You can't just walk in and grab a bunch of stuff. I do plan on adding a market thread at some point that will have people selling stuff, but haven't done that quite yet.

Second, and possibly more importantly, there is no housing outside of the village. The nearest civilian settlement is several days away, traveling at ninja speed, and nobody else lives inside the forest. The council also wouldn't allow someone living outside to join their academy. I'm pretty sure I told you all that after your first post in a PM...

Suffice to say, you need to rethink a few aspects of your character's life, because it apparently doesn't mesh properly with the world...

Simply put, it's a secret village, made up of people who are widely persecuted by every government entity in the known world. They welcome almost anyone in, provided they can confirm their loyalties, but letting people back out just isn't done, for fear of their existence being revealed to unfriendly eyes. As for nomads and such, the village's location was chosen specifically for the fact that there was nobody else living in the area, most likely due to the natural dangers of living near a forest full of predators. Families that wouldn't be comfortable with the idea of settling in the village, don't. They would join with one of the many nomadic ninja groups in the world. The village is for the ninja and families that want to give up their nomadic lives and live in one place.

Still, the main concern is the security risk of having village members living outside, both due to risk of attack by wild animals, and risk of that outsider going a bit too far out, and either being noticed, or actually being a spy. It simply wouldn't be allowed. While this is a "Village", similar to the canon villages in principle, it's also something more akin to a permanent military settlement. While everyone has some degree of freedom, they're also expected to abide by the village's rules and regulations. Especially genin and academy students. For instance, academy students are allowed to go outside for hunting and resource gathering when not in lessons, but are required to be within the walls again by a certain time. Perhaps even within a certain length of time after leaving. They certainly aren't allowed out long enough to actually leave the forest, which is about half a day's trip on it's own at academy level probably.
